A word from Indigo
An informal and relaxed restaurant situated on the mezzanine level of London’s definitive contemporary hotel, One Aldwych. Overlooking the bustling Lobby Bar, Indigo offers diners a creative and ever changing Modern European menu.

The contemporary menu uses only the freshest ingredients to create a light and healthy dining experience. Start with the hand-dived Orkney scallops before enjoying one of the main courses including slow braised beef cheeks, bourguinon garnish and mash potato. Finish with one of our signature desserts including the popular classic crème brûlée.

With its Covent Garden location, the restaurant is ideal for a bite to eat before or after the theatre.

Very good, food and service. The only critism is that, being in an open area on the mezzanine floor, the noise from the bar below in the hotel foyer can be overwhelming.

The table was booked for 9.30pm & we got there just after 10pm after the theatre visit. We were not rushed & treated well. The food is cooked to an exceptional standard & presented well. It is a great place to entertain. We will sample a few more on the menu soon.

A tremendous success, my friends all loved the food and the ambience. The value deal was outstanding, but some of us did the alacarte as was still v. reasonable. Staff charming, and very helpful, just a bit difficult to catch their eye at times, owing to position of table more than anything. We will all return, to say my NY friends are generally rather picky would be an understatement, hence they are rarely impressed, but they were with this restaurant, and with every aspect. Had they not been leaving next, day think we would have been back next night. Thanks for a great evening. nb this is a really great option for the Aldwych frnge Covent Garden theatres.

The attention we received with our elderly diner was excellent throughout our experience. The service personnel were aware of our theatre arrangements and ensured we were in good time to complete our meal which but we were never rushed. The atmosphere in the bar area extended into the dining room without being oppressive. We would highly recommend our experience to others and will readily return. Thank you to all the staff.

Visited Indigo last Friday night for a birthday dinner. The three courses with a glass of Prosecco was great value at £25. Restaurant was very nicely done with lovely comfortable chairs. Loved the way the restaurant is on the mezzanine so although its fairly quiet, you have the background buzz of the bar downstairs.

Despite booking through Open Table the restaurant denied all knowledge of this and we had to be very persistent to get the advertised deal The starter was good and so was the dessert but the main course of partridge was disappointing. it was advertised as being served with season accompaniments, but all we got was almost raw Brussels and crisps/game chips.

Had meal last Tuesday before theatre. I chose two courses from set menu, husband chose from al a carte. All were delicious, really good value for the excellent quality. Beautiful restaurant and we had a table overlooking the lovely lobby bar. Staff were very professional, most welcoming and friendly. When phoning day before to confirm booking they asked if we were going to the theatre and latest time we would like to leave. This was checked on arrival, and during our meal we were assured we had plenty of time to relax and enjoy. Faultless service. Wonderful! Will certainly return on our next visit to London.

Went to Indigo with business colleague earlier this week. I started with mackerel rillettes and followed by the rib-eye steak. Perfectly cooked exactly as ordered and really enjoyed the food. Wine list provided excellent choice across all price ranges (seemed expensive but good VFM considering the wines offered). Restaurant ideal for early evening business discussions. All staff provided an excellent service - very professional yet friendly and relaxed. Definitely will return both with business colleagues and for social dining.

We had a theatrical marathon to attend at the Aldwych theatre and thought Indigo was convenient for us to have a meal in between sessions. The food was good, we did not ask for the pre- theatre fixed menu as we did not fancy anything in particular., went for the a la carte. The ambience was great as well as service, which was excellent and the overall experience was great. Have been there before, will certainly return in the future.

We went to Indigo for our daughter's 18th Birthday meal and had some great food. The Rabbit main course was great as was the Mackerel starter. The service was very attentive and made our evening, especially when they brought out a celebration cake and candle. The restaurant has a great ambience even on a relatively quiet Monday and the view from the mezzanine over the bar is good fun.

This was a nice surprise, I booked because it was near to out theatre and we had limited time but we were both really wowed by how nice it all was. The staff were attentive and efficient without making us feel rushed. The food was excellent for a set menu and was better than we had hoped for. It felt like a really special dinner that would not have been out of place in a celebrity chef restaurant for 4 times the price.

Table wasn't ready on time. Waited in the lounge and ordered a heart and soul (a gin based cocktail) - the sugar alone almost killed me. The menu at Indigo is decently priced but none of the food was anything special. Service was slow - every time we had to ask for anything we'd have to call for service, no proactive checking up at all. The purple shirt uniform of the staff working at the Aldwych is corporate ugh - must change. Ordered the cod fillet which was a bit bland but otherwise fine. Other friends ordering smoked salmon weren't too appreciative. The Cabernet Sauvignon was over ripe and we left most of our carafe untouched. The Aldwych with its location, and its beautiful building could do so much better. Indigio needs an overhaul

We enjoyed a lovely 2 course pre-theatre lunch here a couple of weeks ago. The moment you arrive at Indigo a greeted at the restaurant you feel relaxed and at ease. The service is friendly, very knowledgeable about the preparation of the meals and efficient. The seating is comfortable and the ambience had a buzz which did not require music to enhance. The menu selection was good and there were 4 or items I would have chosen. Overall very good and would definitely recommend and visit again.

We visited Indigo on Saturday prior to going to the theatre and found it really delightful. We were given a warm welcome, shown to our table and asked if we were going to the theatre. There is obviously an awareness that theatre-goers will be under a reasonably strict timeline. Everything we ordered was excellent and was beautifully served. We intend to visist the restaurant again when we aren't under time pressure and will take the opportunity to enjoy the food and ambiance again. It is obviously a popular venue for cocktails and we saw some really delicious looking examples! We really recommend Indigo - and particularly if your theatre is in The Aldwych area.
