Diner Reviews
  • "Kasper's is one of our favorite restaurents in London's West End. Located in the world famous Savoy Hotel the service is everything you would expect and it's not expensive. A great venue for a romantic meal for two, or a friends dinner for 22."

  • "Having booked Kaspers for my daugther's 15th birthday, the evening lived up to expectations and she enjoyed it a lot. The venue is very impressive and the food enjoyable, whilst being reasonably priced with the 3 course bellini deal. The service was also of a very high standard, although not perfect in all respects. I would recommend a visit."

  • "That evening was outstanding. The service was great. Food is beautiful and delicious. The requested birthday celebration to my girlfriend was impressive and heart warming. Surely I will be back for more!"

  • "Kaspar's is amazing, the quality of food and service is surperb.Highly recommended."

  • "Definitely on our favourite list for pre-theatre dining, Kaspar's set price 2- or 3-course menu has excellent choices and no "short changing" on the selection of deserts, including a superb brittle chocolate dome filled with delicious chantilly cream. The £28 for 3 courses becomes a total bill of about £80 for 2 persons by the time a delicious carafe of perfectly chilled savignon blanc has been added. There are few places with the ambiance and glitter of the Savoy, dining with the stars, that such fine dining is affordable to begin a special Saturday night out."

  • "We have been coming to the Savoy for 30 years and always been satisfied but this offering was poor. Wine waiter who pops a different wine into a glass previously occupied by another wine. A mixed grill to be avoided. Waiter took our order and somehow my daughter was offered something different to what she ordered. Think carefully before spending your hard earned cash here. Such a shame given that this was once arguably the best in town, with nothing too much trouble for top quality staff. I'm afraid it's time to get back to basics Savoy and educate your exec Chef that even in high end establishments people expect something that approaches value, maybe the refurb has popped a little too much pressure upon operations to overdeliver in profit."

  • "We are unable to comment as having arrived for our confirmed booking for the £35 menu including bellini, we were told we were not able to have this menu and would have to have the a la carte. The restaurant said they had never confirmed the special menu was available, however at the time of booking I specifically commented we wished to book the offer ( which was clearly displayed as available) and neither Open Table nor the restaurant responded to highlight any issue. The restaurant did not handle the situation well and despite eating at The Savoy previously ( not on offers ) I will not be returning. We chose not to stay and dined elsewhere."

  • "The food was superb, couldn't fault it! If you love seafood you will love this place..although there are meat options too! Fantastic presentation of the food, I would recommend the scallop starter, cooked to perfection! A good, relaxed atmosphere but it still had a touch of sophistication and luxury to be expected when dinning at the savoy. Staff were lovely, very welcoming and polite, we were a group of six celebrating a special occasion they couldn't do enough for us. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special lunch or dinner in the savoy."

  • "Fantastic food and excellent service. Beautifully presented food that tasted as good as it looked. A fantastic evening. Highly recommended."

  • "This was the first time either of had been to Kaspar's, we went there as it was the wife's birthday. Both of us had the fruits de mer selection, and that did not fail to disappoint (except for maybe the crab). All of the seafood was exceptionally fresh, and having 2 different varieties of oysters definitely expanded on the offering. We just had these as mains each with bread, and this proved ample as starter and main course. For dessert we both had selection of cheeses which were very nice and they offered different varieties to the usual run of the mill offerings. To drink we opted for a Saint Veran which went very nicely with the meal We will definitely be coming back here again to try other fish dishes!"

  • "Have been here many times. However had the special offer with belini for £35.00. food was dreadfull. Not the normal standard, The 4 of us had pork, which was awful. The dish was so salty you needed to drink a bucket of water. It was a very hot day, but the pork dish was a winter choice on the menu not suitable for summer menu, when it arrived it was more like a stew. very dissapointed with the food ( the service however was very good as always and luckily we have been before. If it was our 1st time we would not go back."

  • "We dined here before attending a show at the Savoy Theatre and we were pleasantly surprised with the service, food and setting. Plenty of options to choose from in terms of food and wine (a great wine list!), and everyone in the party (vegetarians included) thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The decor and atmosphere is great, we requested a window view which was a nice option, but anywhere in the restaurant is great. The service was fantastic, the team could not do enough to make sure our dining experience was everything we wished for. Thank you Kaspars for ensuring our evening started in the best way!"

  • "With eye watering prices, service has to be faultless, the atmosphere friendly and welcoming in short you have to feel like a family member. In both Kaspars restaurant and the bar (American Bar) service (an optional but included 12.5% in each) seemed barely civil at times and not especially quick or attentive , wine glasses not refilled (we're not above helping ourselves if we can find the bottle) drinks arriving late, getting the bill a bit fraught. The food was good but not perfect. We were a table of six there to celebrate a happy occasion and this experience did not encourage us to go back. As regulars at the old River Room - which this replaced it made us sad. Overall Good but not nearly good enough."

  • "My wife and I ate at Kaspars, pre theatre this week. The on line booking process was seamless. The front desk welcome was most pleasant and we had a nice table for two. Table staff were friendly, helpful and polished, especially our Sommelier. There was a choice of a la carte or fixed pre theatre menu, both of which were more than acceptable. Great choice of accompanying wines as well. If a restaurant is rated on its location, ambience, service, food and wine quality, then Kaspars must be up there. No restaurant in London is cheap but I have to say I was surprised the bill was not larger. A wonderful night out in a classy restaurant. Thanks to the Kaspars Team for topping off our evening"

  • "Mashed potatoes had too much cream. Indian male waiter (ethnicity mentioned purely for the purpose of identifying) that served us lacked the level of grace you would expect from an exquisite restaurant like this."
    dined on 21/07/2014
  • "We enjoyed the complete dining experience with Kaspar's from the fine selection of Champagne through the excellent fish dishes and wine recomendations that complemented the selection of British cheeses that were available. Topped off with the handmade chocolate lollipops!"

  • "Any trip to the Savoy - London is a special occassion, the staff/service is outstanding and quality of food etc. is always very good. Kaspers is one where you can have a good meal and not pay as if you were a millionaire - it is good value for money."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "Lovely room, shame about the food. Went for the £35 for 3 courses and a bellini offer. The meal started well, with a very good starter (smoked trout fillet). However the main course (cod fillet) was floating in something not particularly nice. The dessert (praline and lemon cake) was just OK. To be fair, the booking did state that there was a 1.75 hour turnaround on tables, but we had barely time to blink between courses, and I felt very rushed. It wasn't as if the restaurant was full - there were many empty tables. Nor surprising really."

  • "Superb food with exemplary service made for a memorable lunch. Highly recommended."

  • "You're not going to get a better opportunity to tick 'Meal at The Savoy' off your bucket list than this. The food is superb and the service perfect. Price is not ridiculous and means you feel you're getting good value. Get a taxi, so you can have the pleasure of the porters opening the door and revel in the surroundings before entering the revolving doors to the splendour that is The Savoy. Fantastic!"

  • "The servic eand the setting were very good - we were fortjnate to have a table by the window. Very atttentive waiting staff - we were told we needed to give the table back by 7pm but never felt rushed. It's all a little pricey, but then you'd expect that. Overall, a good deal for the location and the food"

  • "I wanted to book a meal at The Savoy for my grandmother's birthday and found this deal on Opentable. As soon as I saw it, I knew it was perfect. As soon as we walked in, you could feel the posh decadence and elegance. The food reflected that ambience and we found the service to be very friendly and unintruding. We had the set meal with a glass of bubbly. I can tell you it set a great mood for the table. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. My grandmother felt thoroughly spoilt and that a fuss was made over her - perfect birthday present."
    dined on 09/07/2014
  • "Good but menu descriptions are not entirely accurate ie 'risotto' was unusually made with pasta - and the elderflower pannacotta was smothered in poached strawberries. Nice but not what was expected."
    dined on 08/07/2014
  • "An excellent meal very suitable for my purpose which was a special occasion - celebrating my daughters exam results. The staff were attentive and the food excellent. The cost for me was higher than I would normally pay for lunch but as a special treat then it seemed reasonable."

  • "Kaspers was the perfect place for a girly lunch, the food was amazing, the service was spot on, you couldn't pick a better venue."

  • "My guest was delighted with the choice of restaurant for lunch. The service and attention we received was warm and well coming. The choices of the menu were good and the cod starter was excellent."
    dined on 02/07/2014
  • "Three friends and I had the 3 courses plus a bellini for £35 offer. Including service, a bottle of wine and 3 side dishes (which are needed) we paid £55 each. Although pricey we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and felt it was value for money. Food very good (I opted for the fish dishes) and the service seamless. Would recommend having a drink before or after in the exquisite lounge outside the restaurant. A very different experience from the cramped restaurants and hustle and bustle of Covent Garden. The only hiccup was that although we had booked the special deal via the OpenTable website the hotel had no record of this so there was a short but rather awkward wait while the head waiter decided if we could have the special menu (we could)."
    dined on 01/07/2014
  • "We found the whole experience from the american bar, with its very attentive and truly professional staff, to the wonders of kaspar's with again such professional and friendly staff, and the food was superb, served promptly with a smile. Superb."

  • "I visit Kaspers often and the food and ambience was excellent. I also feel they main courses are excellent value for money. However, the server on this particular occasion was extremely disappointing, rude & impersonable ! A real shame as I bought along a group of new friends to introduce them to the restaurant"
    dined on 28/06/2014
  • "It was our 13th wedding anniversary. All just perfect, food, service, atmosphere, not one single remark. Will go back, for sure."
    dined on 28/06/2014
  • "We ate from the set menu for lunch and each of the courses were extremely good and of a good size. We ordered oysters whilst we browsed the menu, fresh and expertly prepared. We then decided to share a cheese course and chose 5 cheeses from the menu for an additional £15, what constituted the cheese course was the smallest portions of cheese I have ver been offered! Quite simply over-priced and not worth the cost. Would readily eat here again but not the cheese course, there is no excuse for serving such a minimalist offering, had we been advised that each cheese portion was smaller than a thumbnail we would not have ordered any."
    dined on 28/06/2014
  • "This was our second visit to Kasper's and we were not disappointed. Perfect dining."
    dined on 27/06/2014
  • "Sometimes £200 is much better value than £50. Everything was faultless. Last went when Kaspars was the River Restaurant and it's lost none of its high standards and great quality."
    dined on 27/06/2014
  • "7 of us went to Kaspar's for a celebration dinner for the pre-theatre menu which is excellent value. I emailed a few weeks ahead to say that one of us is a vegetarian that doesn't eat fish or cheese (other than mozarella). I asked if they could swap the meat parts of the set menu to something along the lines of mozarella or butternut squash but they came back who a whole specially devised menu. We couldn't believe how accommodating they were. When we arrived they instantly knew to bring out the special menu. Rather than feeling hard done by, our vegetarian felt utterly spoilt! The food is absolutely delicious, the pre-theatre menu is a bargain and our lovely waitress spotted us celebrating and gave us some chocolate lollipops!"

  • "Visited for my husband's birthday and was disappointed. The room is nicely decorated but it doesn't have a great view of the Thames, it was only half full when we arrived and lacked atmosphere. Starters were excellent (tuna tartare and scallops), main courses just so-so. We both ordered the special (red mullet), after we'd ordered the waitress returned to tell us they'd run out. It was 7.45pm!! Offered pollack as an alternative. Pollack....really!! When I looked put-out were offered sea bass instead. We didn't want to stay for dessert or coffee. Wine good but expensive. Evening saved by the maitre d who invited us back for complimentary drinks in the lovely Beaufort Bar as the restaurant had not acknowledged my husband's birthday."
    dined on 26/06/2014
  • "First class service in a relaxed atmosphere. A good choice on the pre theatre menu, and delicious food. My loyal husband thought that he preferred my home made bread to the rolls! Good location in an iconic setting."

  • "had a very lovely time, will recommend dinner at Kaspars any time good food, good wine, excellent dining and the waiters were very welcoming and attentive, we were celebrating my friends 60th and she had a wonderful chocolate surprize present after our meal will certainly go again"

  • "Brought family here for step-grandson's 17 birthday about which I advised in advance. Had read many complaints about the strict warnings of timing limits- it was mentioned in the confirmation but never again. Service was as friendly as could be without being intrusive. Two of us had the pre-theatre menu which was excellent and great value. Others had a la carte- also lovely food. Birthday boy very amused by chocolate lollipop but forced himself to eat it! We had a wonderful time there and wouldn't hesitate to go again. Coupled with lovely show at the Savoy Theatre this was a great outing to remember,"
