A word from Kettner's
Originally a series of four Georgian town houses, Kettner’s was first opened as a restaurant by Auguste Kettner, (chef to Napoleon III) in 1867.

Kettner’s elegant 1930’s style Brasserie serves Modern European dishes all day with a range of menus to suit all occasions. Kettner’s is situated in the heart of theatre land and the Set Menu is the perfect choice at lunch and for pre and post theatre dining. Live music from Tuesday to Saturday on a beautiful white grand piano sets the evening ambience.

Kettner's Bar by Champagne Laurent-Perrier has an innovative cocktail menu inspired by the characters and legends of Kettner’s scandalous past. There is also a huge a range of champagnes.

Kettner’s seven private spaces on the top two floors of the house are perfect for parties, meetings, private dining and more.
Don your finest, (or your favourite old cardigan,) and drink, dine and revel with us at Kettner’s.

Visited Kettner's for a pre-theatre meal. Arrived early which gave us time for 3 courses. Goats cheese and onion marmalade tart of the day as a starter was excellent. The remainder of the food was very good although my wife would have preferred a different main course from the tuna salad she ordered. Service was good with the location excellent for the production we were attending. The 50% discount made for excellent value. We would recommend and hopefully will visit again soon.

We had the pre-theatre menu and the food was excellent with ample portions. The table service was excellent but I had to ask them to hurry the main course otherwise we were going to be late to see Evita as it is a bit of a walk to the Dominion theatre in Tottenham Court Road. I had the guinea fowl which is unusual to have on a pre-theatre menu and it was delicious.

Booked on recommendation that it was close to our theatre performance on the evening of 18th September 14, and had all the right ingredients to meet a pre theatre meal. There were four of us in our party and all with differing food tastes, but all were completely satisfied by menu choice and more importanly the uuumms and ahhs that were heard in between mouthfuls. Excellent meal in lovel accommodation and perfect ambiance. Staff were helpful and attentive, and the piano player kindly played a jazz version of happy birthday for my wife, perfect.

The food at Kettner's was good. I went with a friend and we shared a bottle of wine and mussels as a starter. I moved onto a rare sirloin steak with chips and béarnaise sauce, while my friend had the lamb cutlet. The food was cooked to specification, not under or over-done. The meat was good quality. In terms of ambience, it was a nice atmosphere, although sitting next to the piano (which was great, don't get me wrong) made it a bit hard to hear each-other. Service was polite, but a bit clumsy, especially at the entrance where they took our coats. Overall a good dining experience.

We arrived about 20 mins late (I did ring ahead) and were quickly shown to a table, though I asked if we could have a different one by the window. Starters were turkey terrine with onion marmalade & sourdough toast, and salmon rillette with a well-dressed salad. Mains were swordfish on crushed new potatoes & confit guinea fowl with chorizo mash. The fish was excellent, a good sized & perfectly cooked. My guinea fowl was a little dry and could have done more of the sauce that was drizzled around the plate. We squeezed in dessert & coffee. With a glass of Malbec & a Bellini Tesoro the bill was £72 & we were out in under an hour. Recommended. I’d tell you the table number but I wouldn’t want to find it already taken next time we go!

We had a good night at Kettners. The staff were friendly and the food was acceptable but not special. The restuarant crammed with too many covers clearly relies on relatively quick turnover and is very, very noisy. You wouldn't go there for a romantic meal for 2 but you might for a birthday, stag or hen do! It's not much more than a burger and chips place but a good burger with good chips. In the end we had to ask for table service in the bar - it was a long time coming - and the Pear Zazz cocktails were flat and disappointing. A bit souless overall but, what can I say, OK! Kettners is ok.

Nice food and good service. However we were sat right near the door entrance so there was a constant draft and flow of people in and out, I did mention at the time but told no option to move to another table. Food was good if a little pricey for what it was. Honestly £25 for three lamp chops is about double what I would have expected to pay! The food was very enjoyable though and plenty of vegetarian choice which had concerned one of the party before hand. As I was not paying the bill not really an issue for me this time. The wine and champagne were seriously silly prices though for nothing special.

We visited Kettners for dinner mid week as we were going to see Miss Saigon. The restaurant is only a 2 minute walk from the theatre in a quirky old building. Service was good and as we only had to over an hour (due to our late arrival), Kettners staff ensured that our dessert was served straight after our main course. I had the duck breast with fondant potatoes served on a bed of wilted spinach with a blackberry compote whilst my husband opted for the veal. He chose a basket of chips to accompany it which was a good job as it was literally just veal albeit a huge portion. For me, my dessert was the piece de resistance - chocolate sphere. You just need to try it, you won't be disappointed if you are a fan of chocolat.

A late lunch mid-week at Kettner's in Soho as always offers good value for money on their special offer. As always, the food was very good and well presented. By the time we finished eating the restaurant was empty and we had to look around for staff in order to pay the bill, but apart from this, we would definitely go back again to enjoy a good lunch ( and dinner).

Went to Kettners this past Saturday night for a meal on my sister's hen night. From the time we sat down at the table my sister was made to feel special when she was presented with a glass of fruity prosecco; classy move Kettners. All of the food was superb; I ordered the chicken liver pate as a starter and beef bourgignon as a main, very impressed with both. Our waiter was attentive all night without being overbearing. The restaurant was beautiful. Very pleased that we went to Kettners.

I found this place online when I needed somewhere close to the Prince Edward theatre as I was bringing my mother to a show. What a find! Although given how long it's been around I can't understand how I hadn't been before. This place is wonderful. It was buzzing pre theatre, but as they control numbers very well it wasn't overcrowded. The service was wonderful; ambience super; great food and a surprisingly modest bill (£160 for 3 including G&Ts before, a la carte menu, starters and mains with a nice bottle of wine). We'll definitely return and see what goes on in the rest of Kettners.

Food and wine were excellent- my daughter has been waiting all year to have the pavlova dessert again and was not disappointed! lovely touch on the dessert plate wishing us Happy Anniversary & congrats to my son.

The current food offer available at Kettners makes the meal very good value but you need to eat early or late). Criticisms would be it was a little too noisy when we arrive at 9pm, although it did quieten down. The waiter seemed a little out of his depth but the food itself was very good. When the bill arrived they hadn't discounted it as per the offer (naughty) but quickly did this when reminded. Certainly worth a visit.

not the restaurants fault but i took someone here for a business lunch and the place was empty. we arrived at 1 and two other tables were taken, i presumed it would get busier but in fact it emptied out so that by 2pm we were the only ones sitting in the restaurant. Have been before in the evening and the place was busy so not sure whats happened with lunchtime. Also wasnt offered any bread which is unusual, food was ok but quite plain not to the standards it used to be.

Kettner's has a lovely atmosphere - it's fairly relaxed but also feels special enough for an occasion. We had a 6.30 table but it was already pretty buzzing and there was a pianist just starting as we were finishing up. The staff were attentive and very friendly, and the service was a good pace. The food is generally very good, although if I'm being picky the mains were both a little bit on the bland side compared to the starters and dessert, but still very good. That said, my dessert more than made up for it - the creme brûlée was one of the best I've ever had. It was particularly good value with the OpenTable deal - my 3 course meal for 2 (with wine) should've been £90 but I paid just over £60 incl service.

We had a drink in the bar beforehand which is great to visit in itself. Staff are alert and if there are no tables available when you arrive they remember you and come find you if one becomes available, which I think is a nice touch. Dining room has lovely soft lighting and live piano music gives it a great atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive. The food was good but probably a bit too expensive for what it was if you didn't have the deal. The only gripe I would have is that when our bill came they didn't apply the offer so we had to send it back which can end the evening slightly awkwardly, but waiter was fine about it and brought us a new bill with the offer applied. Overall great place for fun relaxed night out.

Fabulously chic yet relaxed restaurant with deliciously fresh food. Mussels were meaty and rich, fish dishes very delicate, and the duck was cooked to perfection. We did have to wait a while for our initial drinks order of 4 Champagne cocktails, but as a group we were so busy chatting that we hardly noticed - the drinks were subsequently taken off the bill by way of apology. What a lovely gesture! Our booking stated that we had a 2 hour slot, which we easily out-stayed. It was great to feel as if we could take our time and not be hurried out the door despite the fact they were clearly bustling. Will definitely return.
