A word from La Trompette
La Trompette is owned by Nigel Platts-Martin and Bruce Poole, the partnership behind Chez Bruce in Wandsworth and The Glasshouse in Kew. It therefore serves some of the best food in London but without the formality or prices associated with the capital's top end establishments. The comfortable and stylish dining room is a vibrant, busy and friendly place to be with service that is highly professional yet relaxed and informal.

From the outset La Trompette has been showered with accolades, a reflection of the love, care and energy that is invested in the restaurant by the dedicated team behind it. La Trompette was awarded a Michelin star in 2008.

good location in Chiswick, pleasant environment. Very good three course lunch - only had the intention of eating two courses but could not resist the damson mousse. Guinea Fowl, and Cod were our mains preceeded by a lovely cep soup and delicious pate with scrumptious brioche. Good service.

Outstanding food and gracious staff. As the restaurant got busier through the evening the staff became less attentive. Initially we had wine poured for us and the like, towards the end we felt less and less cared for, which culminated in asking for the bill and waiting 15 minutes for it not to arrive, whereupon we asked again and it arrive promptly. Clearly our waiter forgot about us, which isn't really acceptable for a Michelin starred restaurant. Overall a great meal and I highly recommend La Trompette, but service slips marred an otherwise outstanding experience.

Great place for an adults only meal (one of the last for us for awhile) - good attentive service, complex flavours on this lovely menu and set to a very "mad men" vibe. Loved their in-house gluten free truffles to round out a wonderful meal.

I am a big fan of the La Trompette 3 (Chez Bruce and The Glasshouse). The food is superb and they have a great wine list and cheese trolley to die for. We strolled along to La Trompette last Sunday for a lazy Sunday lunch but didn't leave for about 2 and a half hours as the service was abysmally slow. They really need to improve on their service as this is not the first time.

45th birthday, booked a week in advance for Sunday night. It was busy but not full. Set menu at £47.50 for 3 courses + 12.5 % service. Some courses did cost an extra £7 (Chateaubriand). Amazing bread, cleverly prepared food, superb seasonal menu (I recommend the mushroom soup and guinea fowl), maybe the ambiance could have been a little more sophisticated (too many young children). Said that, we are not big fans of swanky decor, austere rooms or exaggerated service manners that make one behave unnaturally. For a local Michelin in West London, where to eat well, spend reasonable money, drink great French wine and be home at a reasonable hour, it's perfect!

I never usually write reviews but this time I felt I had to. I am a vegetarian and don't eat wheat - a challenge for any restaurant. La Trompette was superb in accommodating my dietary needs with ease and style; and produced some excellent food on very short notice (I had phoned ahead, but only on the day as we booked last minute). The service was superb; the food was extremely good. I would highly recommend it.

La Trompette is one of those restaurants where all you have to worry about is making the booking because the rest is so comfortingly fantastic! Everything from the smart & modern decor, the relaxed yet efficient service and great food makes for a reliably wonderful treat. The menu managed to offer dishes that seemed to suit everyone, but there was an interesting twist to everything, so nothing was boring. The dessert of creme fraiche tart with red and green gooseberries was delightful and the addition of lemon verbena ice cream was really new and special. I can't wait to return!

Most enjoyable. Friendly, but competent, service. Great food; the kind of menu I could have stuck pins into to choose without risking disappointment. Several of us had slow cooked lamb or beef dishes, which were very good indeed. Extensive wine list with interesting choices at the lower price end. Although we had a late seating at 2pm, there was no pressure whatsoever on getting us out of the restaurant. My wife has insisted that we go back. Soon.

I booked this restaurant based on opentable reviews, and I am very glad I did. Upon arrival, I was greeted with warm and welcoming hostess, and the service in general was very good. Really lovely, bright, modern, clean and romantic ambience, I liked the paintings very much. Food was also very good. The warm breads and butter were really delicious, while I thought grouse dish was a bit under seasoned, john dory was very good and apricot soufflé was outstanding. I was a bit disappointed to see that they didn't offer any canapés or petite fours since I received from almost every Michelin rated restaurants I visited in London, but in overall, the food was very good, and I would love to go back again soon.

Can't really complain ....re some of the recent tripadvisor negative reviews .....the set lunch is truly excellent value and we have been coming here for several years and consistently have good food and service......minor niggles would be the chairs are extremely hard with no cushion but some of our party sat on the sofa style bench seats which were fine ! Our guinea fowl was a little overdone and one of the deserts was served in a glass which proved very difficult to eat out of (hard ice cream in the base which was hard to extract!).......probably in our view the best value restaurant in SW London suburbia ....we will continue to return!

My girlfriend and I went to La Trompette on 6 August and had a lovely time. The food was excellent, really top drawer. The ambience was great, particularly for a romantic dinner. The only slight criticism was that the service was a bit slow to begin with, however things improved as the night went on and the staff were always friendly and helpful, particularly the somelier. Thanks for a great night, we will definitely be back.

It was my first time at la trompette with my wife. We love food and wanted to try this "michelin star" restaurant. From outside the place is inviting however inside is very noisy , waiters are constantly running around you by group of 2-3 . It somehow prevent you to relax and enjoy the moment in a michelin restaurant. The food was very well presented , well cooked and delicious. The service was good with caring staff but it is the general ambiance that let them down. A group having dinner in s private room were very noisy and it seem that there is no dress code ? Some customers stepped dressed as if they just came back from the park ... It kills the magic of a Michelin restaurant. For comparison the Gavroche has a superb ambiance.

I booked four of us here for my husband's birthday. The lunch time menu offered 6 or so options for each course, each option as inviting as the next. We all enjoyed three courses and our guests were stunned by the quality of the food, and how beautifully it was all put together. Delightful experience, cannot wait for the next instalment! They assumed our guest was my husband with the birthday as evidenced by the 'happy birthday' swirl on his plate in stead of my husband's, but it provided us with some laughs and mattered not one bit.
