A word from Le Garrick - Covent Garden
Le Garrick Restaurant located in the middle of London's theatreland is an intimate French restaurant that's a favourite with theattrical types, business people and lovers of French cuisine. There is a homely restaurant at ground level, while at lower ground level the friendly bar/dining room has intimate nooks for romantic moments. Le Garrick's menu features classics and favourites of French bistro cooking, dishes like grilled enrecote with sauce poivre and pommes frites and lemon tarte with creme fraiche among the classic desserts. The two course prix fixe menu is a lifesaver pre-theatre. The almost entirely French wine list offers wines by the carafe as well as the bottle and glass. In an area that's chockablock with chain eateries, Le Garrick is a one-off.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Despite being stood up by my dining partner I was never hurried to order or leave, even on a busy sunny lunchtime. Very swift and friendly service from Domi and the team, and I'd be in there every week if I could."
    dined on 23/07/2014
  • "My wife and I enjoyed an excellent meal at Le Garrick before going to the theatre. The service was excellent and the staff were friendly and sincere. The menu is not extensive but what is on offer is varied and represents good value and is cooked to perfection. It scores maximum points on all levels and we will definitely return when we next go to London."
    dined on 21/07/2014
  • "Warm and friendly service from a great team, serving delicious French food in cosy setting. The air conditioning was really welcome on the hottest night of the year."
    dined on 19/07/2014
  • "Close to theatre land Le Garrick is a busy -2 floor bistro, serving Frnech food. The downstairs area is quaint but the tables are very close together and it can be quite noisey. We ordered the duck breast which was a good size but some pieces were not too tender. The waiter had a diffcult time moving between the tables, which spoiled it a bit. OK for pretheatre dinner when you don't have much time but a bit too crowded for a special dinner."
    dined on 12/07/2014
  • "Exceptional service and great food. Recommend Le Garrick pre and post theatre or a simple evening with a close friend. A wonderful little restaurant to while the night away over good conversation, food and drink."
    dined on 07/07/2014
  • "Consistently good food, quick, efficient and pleasant service and sensible value for money. We don't look much further for a pre-theatre bite..."

  • "Highly recommended, and with such high hopes bit of a let down really. No more than OK. Had better."
    dined on 04/07/2014
  • "An authentic French restaurant in Covent Garden. The menu is comprehensive with several additional dishes of the day. The cuisine was very good and the service of a high standard. However the incorrect main dish was brought to the table but this error was immediately corrected and as compensation two digestifs were offered on the house, The wine list is good and reasonably priced."

  • "On arrival was shown to table, a little quiet. Was given the menus and left for a few minutes. Waiter came back with water and warmed French bread basket (which was refilled when emptied) and took our drinks order. returned with drinks and took food order, gave advice, when asked, regarding the dishes, very helpful. Without repeating entire order, can say the food was excellent for all. a good 5 minutes between each course and the desserts (can we go in there for multiple desserts only!). Went on recommendation, will be going again as will other members of my party."

  • "Top marks to the team at Le Garrick, food service & atmosphere all really good. Great attitude from the staff, even though it was a v busy and hot saturday evening they were very attentive and flexible."
    dined on 21/06/2014
  • "A nice meal with good service. No real faults to the place. The fondue was lovely with lots of bread. The waiter we had was very attentive and kept the water coming. We had a £20 bottle of wine which I would have paid more for elsewhere and then had some nice duck. The beans with the duck weren't the best but that is a small issue. Overall, a good restaurant"

  • "I thought Le Garrick was in a lovely spot in Covent Garden with a nice ambience with a comfortable cosy feel. The waitress was smiley and helpful. Although the food was good, it wasn't outstanding. We shared the cheese fondue (the menu should suggest for how many since the three of us struggled to finish it). Charcuterie was okay, risotto okay and steak was tough but very tasty. Peppercorn sauce was watery. Dessert gourmand(sp?) was very good value with a generous brandy. I'm afraid the chocolate mousse had a great texture but absolutely no taste. The lemon tart was good. All in all it was a nice lunch but a la carte is expensive and we probably won't return, with all the other good places in London to explore."

  • "Visited Le Garrick on the evening of Sat June 7th, 2014 with 5 friends. The warmest day of the year so far and Covent Garden was buzzing. Our table was ready and the service was spot, given the number of diners. Food and wine could not have been better. Look forward to the next visit."
    dined on 07/06/2014
  • "Our visit had a very promising start, but unfortunately my date didn't like any of the rather limited vegetarian options. So we only stayed for a drink then had to rush off to the theatre, and went to Chinatown instead later on!"
    dined on 06/06/2014
  • "Had a great meal with my family. The food was great with a varied choice of great meals from the expensive to the affordable. Great ambience and a real jem in the middle of Covent Garden. Thanks!"
    dined on 05/06/2014
  • "I had duck a l'orange and I have to say it was a bit disappointing. it was tough and the fat was not rendered down leaving the skin soggy , fatty and inedible. My husband had the risotto that was OK but nothing special. The pudding was good and the cheese very good."
    dined on 04/06/2014
  • "Me and my girlfriend have eaten here on each of our last two trips to London and we absolutely love the place. We stumbled upon it by chance the first time but made a beeline for it the next time we visited. The atmosphere and ambiance is charming, quaint and romantic, the service is friendly, attentive, unobtrusive, the staff are an absolute joy and the food is wonderful. It's great value too."
    dined on 24/05/2014
  • "Le Garrick was wonderfully relaxing. All the staff were French and it felt like walking into a French bistro. It's not poncy or fancy but the British French favourites were there. Pate was good, and our waitress made it a pleasant experience. Downstairs is full of intimate packed little coves and upstairs was small. "
    dined on 23/05/2014
  • "I loved Le Garrick! The waiting staff were wonderful. They were all (certainly all the we spoke to) French, and the atmosphere was so Parisian that we just found ourselves speaking French as though we were on holiday! The food was excellent, large portions (but not wastefully large) and very good value. I cannot wait to go back!"
    dined on 23/05/2014
  • "This was our second visit to Le Garrick and once again were not disappointed. We had requested a table outside as the weather was gorgeous and we took our time watching the world go by. The staff were lovely and very accommodating, the food was a delight, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening and will definitely be going back. "
    dined on 16/05/2014
  • "Dined with a friend for late lunch on a wednesday, so no pressure on the kitchens or waiting staff. The service was friendly and prompt, and we were given recommendations of wine to suit our starter and main course choices, which were well matched. The food quality was very good, and we overall had a very good meal. I will definitely be returning..."
    dined on 14/05/2014
  • "Very good value meal with excellent, speedy and attentive service by a young French lady who, after a little coaching could spell and say Worcestershire Sauce perfectly. We will will definitely be using your services again. Thank yoiu"

  • "I booked a reservation at Le Garrick for a business dinner and was not disappointed -- solid French food, wonderful service, and cozy atmosphere. I'd highly recommend it and would definitely go back. "

  • "Friendly and very quick service but food was very poor quality yet cheap for the location. However, restaurant made up the cost with very expensive alcohol."
    dined on 06/05/2014
  • "Can't fault this place. Surprisingly good so close to Leicester Square! Service, ambience and food excellent. Definitely will be back."
    dined on 26/04/2014
  • "I like this place for both the location and the fact that the folks that work there couldn't be nicer. It's one of the friendliest restaurants I've been to in London. The food is good, the ambiance is fun and cozy (go downstairs) and they have a decent menu. "

  • "Great Ambiance with great people! Service was great!"
    dined on 19/04/2014
  • "Food and service were nice, but the tables were so close together and the ceiling in the basement restauarant, gave a feeling of being closed in. For these reasons we would not return"
    dined on 19/04/2014
  • "Went for a meal with my parents here and sat downstairs, which was very cosy. There's not a huge amount of room for those with very long legs, but it does add to the warm, intimate atmosphere; it would be a lovely place to take a date or for a special occasion. The service was excellent and we felt looked after but not rushed or bothered too much. The food was lovely, we shared a few starts which were all really tasty and then for mains we had steaks and beef bourguignon which were both very good. There are better value places I'm sure, but it's certainly not overpriced, either. If you're after a place with a good atmosphere then I'd definitely recommend it."

  • "Very friendly attentive staff. Food good value , great location and atmosphere."

  • "We went for my mum's birthday meal and the staff were lovely to her. We've been before and the food is consistently lovely, with very reasonable good wine. Have been dawdling around Covent Garden for over a decade now and the ambiance fits beautifully with my ideal of the district - slightly theatrical, varnish rubbed off the tables, but at the heart of it great food & professional staff."
    dined on 12/04/2014
  • "Came with a group of friends, great dining area downstairs. Feels private and cosy. Great steak, great desserts and really friendly staff who were relaxed and really seemed to enjoy working there. Will return."
    dined on 11/04/2014
  • "Great meal at. We've been here a few times and it's always great. The staff are friendly and look like they're enjoying their jobs. The food is gorgeous and we can't wait to go back!"
    dined on 11/04/2014
  • "Le Garrick is one of my favourite restaurants in London. The food is good - quality ingredients prepared into some classic French dishes. The wine list is excellent and, if your timing is good (early or late - they get a bit rushed in the middle of service), the service can be outstanding. Foie gras always needs more brioche than they think, but the steady supply of free tap water was a welcome feature. The French onion soup starter is one of the best you'll find this side of Calais."
    dined on 07/04/2014
  • "We were a party of four before the theatre and were greeted with a warm welcome. The menu was appetising and the wine list not overpriced. Two of the party had escargots and both pronounced them quite excellent. Elsewhere snails went down well as did the sea bream. The Picpoul de Pinet was an excellent choice for a meal largely of fish. I have been to Le Garrick a number of times and find it particularly good as a pre theatre venue. The waiting staff may not always be the same but maintain a friendly and timely service. To be recommended."

    dined on 29/03/2014
  • "It was my fiancée's birthday and as I requested we got a really nice table by the corner: really romantic! The service was friendly, polite and not obtrusive. We ordered foigras as starter (really good the figs chutney) and then as main the duck and the mussels (both were delicious) and we finished with a dessert (chocolate pot). Just a mark: no birthday plate or similar to celebrate my fiancée's birth - when I booked the table I left a note for that - but it can happen, so thanks a million to Le Garrick for this French touch in London!!!"
    dined on 26/03/2014
  • "I love le Garrick, it is my favourite restaurant in covent garden. It's independent and fabulously French!"
    dined on 26/03/2014
  • "We had the pre-theatre menus, which are such great value for central London. The food was delicious and service was friendly and attentive. Love this place!"
