A word from Le Pont de la Tour
By day, you can enjoy our traditional French cooking with a modern accent in the calm of our marine-inspired interior. And by night, the true opulence and elegance of the main dining room awakens against the backdrop of floodlit Tower Bridge.

Executive Head Chef, Tom Cook, has gone back to our traditional roots by recreating favourite classics from the restaurant’s opening menu – including Fruits de Mer, Lobster Pot au Feu and his version of the Crab & Saffron Tart – a salad of white crab meat with saffron mayonnaise and a light crab beignet. For a touch of dining theatre try our Severn & Wye Smoked Salmon, which is carved at your table, or enjoy the show of flambé Crêpes Suzette.

  • Birthday dinner at Pont De La Tour

There were 7 of us celebrating my son's birthday. We have been before to the restaurant so we're expecting good things. The setting and views are amazing but the service on this occasion was appalling. I had booked through open table so had stipulated the set menu list for our party. This wasn't given - I had to ask twice for the correct menus. After filling our water glasses we were then left by for 25 -30 minutes. In the end I had to call a waiter over to request someone take our order. It was very embarrassing. Once the food arrived it was good though overpriced (our guests ended choosing a mixture from the a la carte & set list, which I think is why we weren't given the correct menus from the off). In conclusion: very disappointing.

Booking time: 8pm, 20/09/2014 It has been many years since my last visit and I am happy to report their standard of cooking remains excellent. We only went for fish/seafood dishes. The swordfish and lobster starters were brilliantly executed. The portions were not large, but enough to whet the appetite, leaving us looking forward to the mains. For the mains, we had the stone bass and Dover sole dishes. The fish were cooked to perfection. The mains were fresh; any additional flavours were subtle and did not intrude. For us, the level of service was just right: always there when we needed it, but never felt intruded or overbearing. We sat on the outside of the restaurant which offered an excellent view of the Thames. Highly recommend.

My son was going off to Uni and wanted a last night to really encapsulate London living so we went to Le Pont de la Tour, it did the trick. A fantastic iconic view of the river and Tower Bridge (which even opened while we were there to top it off), a great food selection, exquisitely cooked and served and a comprehensive wine list which includes wines from the most expensive to the far more reasonable day to day wines which although pricey are not excessive. Service was a little slow to start with but improved after the first course was served but we had to ask for more bread and wait for the wine to be poured a couple of times. Expensive but worth it for a treat!

Amazing views, friendly reception, excellent table at the window as requested, live background music playing. Food well prepared and presented and good descriptions given by staff. Descriptions of wine not as clear due to strong accent of wine waiter. Very expensive but we were aware of this before visiting. Overall an outstanding evening.

I was slightly skeptical about sitting outside on a September night, however I am very glad I didn't let my reservations get the best of me. We sat outside under the warmth of the heaters while enjoying fantastic cocktails and fantastic food. I would recommend this to any londeners, tourists and family's who haven't had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant.

Went to PdlT for a Saturday lunch with my wife and 5-year old - had a fantastic meal, great food, fab view of the Pont de la Tour (i.e. Tower Bridge), excellent service from our waiter and sommelier; the one downside of the whole experience was one waiter (shortish guy with spikyish black hair) who, when not busy, insisted on talking loudly with any other member of staff fairly close to our table (despite repeated glares from my wife!), all other staff when standing at the same station were far quieter and more considerate of guests...

Girls night out, some of us arrived late but they allowed us to still have the menu du jour offer which is great value. We added on a dessert from a la carte which had a more varied and interesting range. Altogether came to about 40 pounds per person and we didn't have wine. Good food and great view but for that price, there are other French places that do it better. Our table seemed to be in the middle of everything so waiters were always rushing around which did spoil the ambiance a bit. It was a bit noisy but there was live music which was great. We sat inside but next time a would either sit outside or not in the main restaurant or go earlier so it's a bit quieter

Sitting at river level with a spectacular view of Tower Bridge all lit up, the food was almost incidental. The chateaubriand was very good and the wine selection amazing - particularly from the smaller fine quality NZ vinyards. Dessert was a little uninspiring - raspberry creme brûlée? Good but dull. I would certainly take visitors to London there on a fine evening. We sat out and it was lovely but inside there was a piano player who was deafening so we were glad we didn't sit there.

As the name says outside has a fantastic view of Tower Bridge. Unfortunately it's on the shady side for lunch. however the food was excellent & the service wonderful. We were looked after, especially as a group of young girls ccontinued a Skype conversation near us. It was our wedding anniversary so they tried hard to make it romantic for us.

Booked thus for a birthday treat and had the tasting menu. We sat outside and had a great view of tower bridge and was perfectly heated. Inside there was a piano and lovely decor. The food was delicious and a wine was brought with each course. Apparently they missed a wine but pointed it out themselves and gave us champagne and port. There re?action showed how seriously they took customer service. Hope our wine waiter didn't get shouted at because he was great too. Overall, delicious food, great wine and faultless service.

My husband and I have been dining at Le Pont de la Tour for 4 years now, we come here every year for our wedding anniversary. This year was particularly lovely, when making the booking I was asked if it was a special occasion (never been asked this before), I informed her that it was for our wedding anniversary. On the evening at the end of our meal we were presented with a lovely dessert with 'Happy Anniversary' written in chocolate on the plate. This was a very nice end to the wonderful food that we had been served with. We have always enjoyed the food at Le Pont and will continue to dine here for every anniversary. The staff are very efficient and friendly, but not intrusive. Would highly recommend Le Pont de la Tour.

We have always loved Le Pont de la Tour for a special occasion and the food was as good as ever. Fortunately we were not in a rush because it took three hours for three courses with long gaps between. They also mixed up our wine with another table so we got a new bottle plus the rest of the first bottle so this occupied some of the time. All in all we had a good evening but the waiting might have been a problem for some.

Had an amazing dinner here! We chose the 5-course tasting menu and literally every course was fantastic. The staff was very correct yet friendly, make you feel comfortable, which is a big plus point as you don't expect that at a fine dining restaurant. We had dinner quite late in the evening, so we had a fantastic view over the Tower Bridge by night. We sat outside at the terrace, the boulevard wasn't too crowdy so it was perfect for a romantic dinner and stroll afterwards, as well as for family/group dinners! The prices are a bit higher, about £60-70 pp (depending on choice of menu) but very well worth a try!

The food and service were faultless for our Saturday lunch by Tower Bridge. In terms of value by the time you have added vegetables / potatoes as an extra, a bottle of their cheaper wine (£26) and the dreaded 12.5% service you are looking at £60 per head, so an expensive lunch. Add a further £21 for 3 Gin & Tonics and this place starts to become expensive and you have start questioning value. All that said if the weather is good then dine outside on the terrace for superb views of the bridge and beyond, the prices then start to become more tolerable.

I have n't been to the Pont De La Tour for a number of years. It was easy to book a table online & they had taken notice of my special request (i.e. my birthday). We were seated outside with the usual beautiful view of Tower Bridge with the Thames as a backdrop. We decided to opt for the 3 course set menu for lunch (£30 a head). The staff were very attentive & the service was absolutely first class. I opted for the Salmon starter, followed by Pork Medallions & my wife had Duck Salad followed by Poached Salmon. Our food was delivered promptly & was very tasty. The wine list is extensive, if not a little pricey but you can obviously choose a wine to your budget & taste. Overall we really enjoyed our lunch & the service was excellent.

If you allow a reservation at 3.30pm on a Sunday then you can not expect on order to be placed for food within 5 minutes, as the kitchens are closing! None of the wines we requested were available and we were advised on a particular wine which ended up being £23 per glass. The waiter surely should of notified us of this fact when the wines by glass we were ordering previously were £9.00. I left the restaurant still feeling hungry which speaks for itself really.
