Service, yellowfin tuna ceviche and suckling pig were all excellent. Despite an odd restaurant layout which meant that we were rather hidden behind the bar area, the staff were always attentive and courteous. I did not know my companion was vegetarian until we sat down but she found plenty of choice and her food was just as delicious as mine.

The food was incredible. We went there before the restaurant was awarded a michelin star restaurant and after and it was still wonderful. The reason i only put 3 stars for ambience is because for me it doesn't qualify as a michelin star restaurant restaurant. Then again i love how simole the decor is. The food is really outstanding and beautifully presented. Thank you!

I booked Lima for my boyfriends 30th lunch, we booked at 2pm, he loves Coya and Ceviche. Meal started off great but by desserts (3.10pm) we felt like they wanted us to leave, no one asked us if we would like coffees etc and instead a group of people about to do a photoshoot had plonked their bags down and looked at us as if (can you get out?) It was just all, unfortunately, a bit strange. And not something you'd expect of a restaurant with a Michelin Star.

  • Long lunch: tasty but poor value for vegetarians
    Londondiner
    Dined on 16/11/2014
The food was delicious - very interesting flavours and beautifully presented. We had the "long lunch" on a recent Sunday which is only available via a set menu at 42 pounds/person. For meat and fish eaters, this is not a bad deal, as both the appetiser and main courses feature lots of interesting fish, shellfish and various meats. However, for vegetarians, where the main course comprised a bowl of root vegetables plus a few pieces of asparagus in a tasty sauce, this is very pricey. It was a delicious bowl of vegetables, but it was still just a bowl of vegetables (with no protein source). As a vegetarian, I would not go back until the price is brought down to be more in line with the actual food offering. However, my enthusiastically carnivorous friend felt she received good value for money and raved about the flavours.

We went to Lima on Saturday for a special birthday and it did not disappoint. The service was brilliant and the food even better. We had three starters between the two of us because there were two many attractive options, the best was the sea bream ceviche - a star dish. We also had the hake and beef mains and two puddings. This is not the cheapest place to eat, but you get what you pay for - the food is exceptional.

We really enjoyed our meal at Lima. Service was excellent, the cocktails were interesting and delicious, and the food was wonderfully presented. My only slight complaint is that the seating in the front of the restaurant can be a bit draughty as people come in and out. Next time we go, we'll ask to be seated in the back.

Before last Sunday, the only thing I knew about Peru was Nolberto Solano. But then we had the £35 Sunday lunch deal: sharing-starters and a sharing main course. Fantastico. Dessert and complimentary cocktail/glass of champagne. Scorcheo. The atmosphere was very relaxed - almost Mexican - and the floor staff were incredibly polite, warm and welcoming. They even offered us more of the main course at no extra charge, so we took them up on it and ate loads more delicious chicken. Genuinely one of the best - if not the best - Peruvian meals I've had within 200m of Tottenham Court Road.

We had a very nice evening at Lima Fitzrovia. There is an amazing Peruvian stuff to enjoy (food, atmosphere, staff...) about which we have just a couple of things to say. First, our waitress was very nice but she didn't had time to us to order wine and spirits (for the dinner and the desserts) while she already was taken the menus from our hands. Second, all the food it is amazing (a piece of Peru on your mouth directly to your brain, superb!), however one of the main courses (the Amazon Paiche fish) was dry, maybe over cooked, if you compare its texture with the Sea Bass Chalaca. This is the best Peruvian restaurant in London at the moment, terrific to prove the difference between who knows about Peru and who doesn't. Highly recomendable.

The starters were amazing, but the mains both arrived and were cold/ luke warm. Eating cold duck breast and beef in a restaurant let alone Michelin star is really not great. When I pulled the waitress aside abd told her They offered a free dessert but still charged for the mint tea and full price on mains

We went to Lima for my Mother's birthday lunch. The service was fantastic with a very welcoming atmosphere and lots of lovely (and also spicy) cocktails to ease us into our wonderful three course meal. Every course was sensationally presented along with explanation from the maître d'hôtel (as Spanish is not my first second or third language) which was very helpful. This restaurant come highly recommended as a brilliant culinary/cultural experience! 5 stars! Although the set menu is not available on Saturday, the value for money was well worth it!

Great food. Highly stylized if you like your food colourful and like a piece of modern art then this is the place for you. Flavours deliver but there's a lot of purple - corn, potatoes and olive sauce - and some garish reds and oranges on the plates. Small quibble with the fact one of the mains came out late but generally the service and ambiance were top notch. not at all Michelin style - very much more relaxed. Reasonably priced wine list - Peruvian Red and Uruguayan White for £75 ish but overall not a cheap meal at all.

This was the first time we had been to Lima and it was thoroughly enjoyable. The food was fantastic - we had both fish and meat dishes for starters and mains. The service was great and included an in depth explanation of the menu, which was very useful. The only downside was how close the tables are next to each other so that customers are right on top of each other, which would not have been so bad except for the fact we had the most miserable, impolite couple sitting next to us.
