Diner Reviews
  • "Overpriced, smelly restaurant with bad thai food. Items came in cold, tasted stale. Some of the staff hardly understood any english, and w had a hard time conversing. Wont be going here again"

  • "The waiter who served us was constantly smiling. We were served very fast and the team were very attentive to our table and that of other diners. Atmosphere was nice but perhaps the tables were a little too close together. Food was nice and we'll presented but a bit overpriced. This is my 3rd time at MangoTree and I'd definitely recommend it."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "We received 50% discount through Open Table, but otherwise we would have found it slightly expensive. The food was really good though so we enjoyed. Minimum order of one starter and one main course applied to our offer. Location is very good, and the service was very good as well. They add a discretionary service charge of 12.5%, which we didn't think is a good idea."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "This was good Thai dining complete with Thai welcome and courtesy."

  • "Four of us ate at Mango Tree, Belgravia and had a very enjoyable evening. We were welcomed warmly and the table was available straight away. The food was excellent and the portion sizes were generous. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, however they needed to be just a little swifter with the drink orders and be more mindful of keeping water available for the table. We booked using the 50% off starter and main offer which was great value. The menu was a little confusing when it came to explaining what qualified for the offer and what did not - it took the staff a couple of attempts to make it clear what was included. I would eat here again."
    dined on 17/07/2014
  • "Good value with the Open Table 50% off voucher which you needed to have a starter and main. When we got there at 7 it wasn't that full and it was easy to hear each other, but by 9pm it was fairly noisy."
    dined on 16/07/2014
  • "I had read lots of reviews about mango tree and was expecting it to be a little bit special but it wasn't ! Over all experience was average. The restaurant is very spacious and felt a bit like a canteen. We were the first diners in the restaurant at 6pm yet when the next 2 customers arrived they were seated right beside us, they asked for more privacy but the waitress said no as they were going to be busy later. Food was good value with the offer. It was tasty but nothing special. I probably would go back with the open table offer."
    dined on 15/07/2014
  • "Great ambience, along with great service and food, saved for a special treat! Good variety of meat & vegetarian dishes with a mild & spicy range."
    dined on 12/07/2014
  • "We ate here before going to the theatre. The meal was from a fixed menu, service was good and food delivered quickly"
    dined on 11/07/2014
  • "The food was presented well and tasted lovely. Very prompt and professional service. We had the business lunch meal which had good choices and was brilliant value. I can't wait to go back again."

  • "I visited Mango Tree after 6 years - it still remains very good. A bit surprised by the prices, but th open table offers balanced it!"
    dined on 10/07/2014
  • "My wife' favourite cuisine for our wedding anniversary.. The tables are very close together but it did not spoil the atmosphere. It was everything I had hoped for. Even though not rated as the top Thai restaurant in London by Tom Parker-Bowles, it ticked all my boxes."
    dined on 10/07/2014
  • "We had a nice evening at the Mango Tree. Good service, nice atmosphere and the food was absolute delicious. We took the 4 course menu (1st page of the card) and loved all different flavours of the broad variety of dishes. We visited the restaurant on the evening that Germany played against Brasil (7-1) and were happy to have the possibility to see the 2nd half of the match in de restaurant bar."
    dined on 08/07/2014
  • "Excellent food as always. Always a treat. Wonderful customer service."
    dined on 08/07/2014
  • "It was an enjoyable evening for the six of us who attended last Saturday The food was good and we made good used of the 25% offer available. Superb Virgin cocktails also. I will recommend Mango Tree to anyone who wants to experience fine Thai dining. Service was excellent and out waiter Michael was brilliant. I had the lobster and it was very tasty. All in all, good value for money."
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "The mango Tree is a really good Thai restaurant. Super-fresh food because it is always packed and therefore turning over meals at a lick. This time absolutely first class in every way."
    dined on 03/07/2014
  • "Best thai restaurant in the Victoria area, if not London! Its great quality and with a Open Table offer makes for great value. The rack of lamb is a must! Always great service, which is hard to come by now."
    dined on 02/07/2014
  • "Had a fantastic meal with my husband at Mango Tree to mark our 1 month wedding anniversary. The service was nearly impeccable with staff (mostly) happy to help."
    dined on 01/07/2014
  • "Dinner ok - service ok - price ok. Much better Thai options available IMO -"
    dined on 01/07/2014
  • "We have enjoyed Mango Tree in the past via tje Top Table 50% off deal. On our latest visit however the service wavered between brusque to incompetent, the food from adequate (starters) to poor (main courses) and the only consistency came from the prices which were all too high. Why Ian Pengelley has chosen to lend his name to this venture is a complete mystery ."
    dined on 29/06/2014
  • "This is our fifth visit to the restaurant. We were half an hour late due to traffic and on calling the restaurant they very happily moved our table back half an hour. The cocktails in the bar were outstanding as were the food and staff who looked after us faultlessly throughout our meal. Well done to waiting staff, Chefs and management for an exceptionally run restaurant this truly is a five star experience."
    dined on 28/06/2014
  • "Service was excellent, we had the taste of siam taster menu. It's started of great how ever the main and desert were unspectacular. Green curry on grilled steak or chicken was just basic. Desert was ok. For £58 pp i wouldn't consider great value for money. It's ok for before a show"
    dined on 28/06/2014
  • "Went for lunch last week on the 50% off deal. There is NO WAY I would go without the offer as Mains are so overpriced for what you get. Have been to Mango Tree many times before but won't be rushing back. Starters were good but all the mains we had were pretty poor. 12.5% Service was a bit steep for the service we received, especially after the long wait for food. We all left disappointed with quite a hefty bill and a bit of a sour taste in our mouth."
    dined on 27/06/2014
  • "This is a regular venue for me, close to Victoria, easy to get table midday."
    dined on 27/06/2014
  • "A friend and I ate at Mango Tree on Thursday evening. It's a massive space, so by about 8pm, it was packed with people and noise. The staff was friendly and nice and with the 50% starters/mains through toptable, the bill was rather good value. However, I found the food to be bland and my Pad Thai to be rather syrup-y tasting. There aren't that many restaurants in that area, so it's one of the best options, but as far as Thai restaurants go, there are a lot better options elsewhere in the city."
    dined on 26/06/2014
  • "Mango Tree was a great choice for a team lunch. The business lunch menu was very good value for money and had a great choice. The restaurant is well designed with varying table sizes. We had a circular table for 8 people, so is good choice for groups. The service was very efficient yet relaxed. The food was good, particualrly the starter spring rolls and satay's! Main dishes were served with the perfect portion of sticky rice and meat dishes were cooked well with the mix of flavours."
    dined on 25/06/2014
  • "I've been wanting to got to The Mango Tree for years. And my sisster-in-law's 50th birthday provided the ideal occassion. We splashed out onthe Xotic Thai "taster menu". The amount of food served was admirable - a genuine feast - but, lordy, the food was the worst Thai food I've ever had. All the dishes were overcooked, bland, and arrived semi-cold at the table. The pad-Thia was quite nice but only in the context of everything else being so poor. Not a patch on Patara. The food wasn't even as good as Thai Square - on a bad day. With two bottles of wine, and the optional lobseter (£18 per half lobster) the bill came to over £90 a head!!! I've given it one star because you can't put zero."
    dined on 24/06/2014
  • "It was our 2nd year anniversary when I insisted to my boyfriend to try Mango Tree as we both are lovers of Thai food. To my surprise, the ambiance was okay, nothing extra ordinary; the tables were very close to each other. To make matters worse, it feels like an opera auditorium with the sound bouncing back- it was too noisy and I can't hardly hear my boyfriend speaking to me across the table. ( but I can hear the gossip from the next table). When we opened the menu, the food was too pricey and the portions were average. Different waiters are taking orders and serving the food. We also waited for 20 mins for the main dish to be served and plus, for 2 people the bill gave us a damage of almost £90- excluding alcoholic and cocktails."
    dined on 20/06/2014
  • "I'm a huge fan of Mango Tree & usually go with my partner every so often. On this occasion I had booked a suprise birthday dinner for him, and Mango Tree went beyond my expectation. The service was outstanding as usual, they looked after us very well & dealt with all the suprise elements of the evening. We had a terrific time & thank Mango Tree staff for making our evening so relaxing."
    dined on 20/06/2014
  • "The hype did not live up to it. The mocktails and starters (fish cake and prawn spring roll) were nice but the mains - chicken pad thai and prawn fried rice were average. A small teeny weeny pot of chilli oil costs a pound. I found that very cheeky. I would not advise going there."
    dined on 18/06/2014
  • "We expected far more from this Restuarant , very noisy with modern cafe type seating. Very good menu selection , price ok for this type of Restuarant . Although food presented well due to the openness of the eating area and the stone cold serving and dining plates the food very quickly went cold and disappointing . When I questioned the waiter the response was no normally they are hot! No apology, no offer of another dish or reduction in the bill. I think they are used to customers saying yes all good, and unable to comprehend any form of complaint at their Restuarant ! Our local Thai has equally varied quality menu and excellent staff. So to FinishI think this Restuarant thrives on its location rather on quality,"
    dined on 15/06/2014
  • "top table offer I was still disappointed with the food!I would never pay full price,12.5 service charge for what exactly?the staff are not knowledgable for special dietry requirements, halal and veg mean nothing to these people. whats in the peanuts and the prawn crackers? The food went cold after 5 mins. main meal does not come with accompaniment of rice so you pay extra.why?main dishes should have a choice of accompaniments? and what annoyed me was the size of the soft drinks 75ml for a diet coke valued at 2.85 at Mango tree!!!!!my cocktail glass was tiny- went through 2 soft drinks each us for the starter and main. maybe I expected more from this plc(location & pice) but im use to eating GOOD thai for the fraction of what I paid here!"
    dined on 15/06/2014
  • "The food was so much for than I expected from the reviews I had read and the service of the staff was outstanding. Would do anything to help!"
    dined on 14/06/2014
  • "Lovely atmosphere, food was delicious and service very good as well. Will definitely go back again."

  • "Lovely venue, amazing food. Definatly one of the best Thai restaurants in London"
    dined on 12/06/2014
  • "Having dined at Mango tree several times I have never been disappointed. The food and drinks selection is extensive with lots of vegetarian options. Very good food and service, a relaxed and friendly environment. Didn't feel rushed. Mango tree remains a firm favourite of mine."

  • "The food was delicious, the service was impeccable. It was very fast and our waitresses were very friendly and efficient . Love the mango tree and will be making a trip back soon"
    dined on 10/06/2014
  • "Found the restaurant excessively noisy though only 40-50% full. Manager admitted that they have bad acoustics and can't do anything about it. Drinks are terribly expensive -with standard cocktails from £ 8-12, regular whiskys minimum £ 7 for singles. The 50% off food bill promotion is misleading as the restaurant insists you must order atleast one starter and one main course per person and only then it qualifies for the discount. We were 5 of us and ended up over-ordering due to this condition, and had to take half the food as doggy backs. For which they further charge £ 0.50 /container! And btw don't ask for any sauces because you will be paying £ 1 / small petry dish size quantity. Pushy waiters always trying to make you order more."

  • "Excellent vegetarian options, friendly environment despite being very busy"
    dined on 09/06/2014
  • "Good food, good service, good ambience. nothing out of this world though. Without the 50% offer not worth it."
