Diner Reviews
  • "Really enjoyed the pre-theatre menu. Very good quality meat and fish, decent portion size and good flavours. Service was quick too. Can't really complain. Drinks a bit on pricey side, but to be expected I guess. I would recommend the Tilapia fish, salmon starter and Jalfrezi too."

  • "This restaurant probably have changed the chef of the owner as menu have changed and we have been disappointed. However, services and location are good."

  • "I chose Mint Leaf as I'd been here before & the experience had been pleasurable. Not this time. Ambiance for this place means low-level lighting & lots of black. Works for young couples maybe but not when you've got a seventy-something Mum in tow waiting for cataract surgery. I kept thinking she'd fall on the raised 'catwalk' affair. Health & Safety issues much? Case in point, the waiter accidentally knocked my prosecco over me. Ordered the OpenTable menu. The food was distinctly average but presented well. Mutton dressed as lamb? A good restaurant knows how to handle mistakes. In this case, they agreed to top up my glass (what? after knocking it over?) remove the service charge (like I was going to pay that?!) & a cup of tea. Best Avoided"

  • "I have heard great things about this restaurant, so when i saw this deal online, i had to book! On arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who took our coats & showed us through to the bar. The bar staff we very attentive & knew their drinks. Sadly, that is where the organised staff stayed. We had a mixture of waitresses seeing to our table, but were still slow on refilling our drinks & when we were trying to make contact to pay our bill they had all disappeared. I got up at one point to ask where the ladies were & saw two members of staff having 'words' with the manager. Not one stopped to assist me! The food however, was incredible! I am a real foodie & love Asia cuisine. The food was up there with some of the best i have ever had."

  • "Myself and my girlfriend went here for her birthday and were not disappointed. The service was very good; friendly and speedy without being overbearing or rushed. The food was very tasty. Up there with some of thethe nicest indian meals I have had. The cocktail happy hour was an added bonus and the cocktails themselves were lovely. The atmosphere was very nice. The look of the place was dimly lit but not too much. The value could be slightly better as we did not have any deals. Overall I would strongly recommend and will return."

  • "The food was good and great value on the opentable deal, the venue was nice, but the drinks were expensive although I guess in line with Central London prices. It was also a shame the restaurant was half empty on a Friday night."

  • "Staff are brilliant and very helpful Food is amazing and well presented! on a whole 10/10!!!"

  • "I often visit and have the pre theatre set menu. The restaurant is very well placed for the theatres. It is excellent value with good sized portions, fabulous flavours and a wonderful ambience in which to eat. Not sure how often the menu changes but recently visited and had exactly the same menu as the week before. The menu is also quite limited but when with friends we normally choose a different selection each and then share. I have yet to be disappointed. Will continue to visit."

  • "I had wanted to visit this restaurant for a while. It was definitely worth the wait and the reviews were spot on. We booked the opentable menu. A fantastic non-alcoholic mojito alternative was offered which was fabulous and the food was great. I shall be visiting again soon!"

  • "We enjoyed a lovely celebratory meal. Waiter was on form. Food is a little pricey and tables were very close so lacked privacy."

  • "We found this wonderful restaurant while browsing the internet for a place to eat during our 3 night stay in London. We stopped at the Thistle Hotel Piccadilly and the Mint Leaf was about 2-3 mins walk down the road. We were greeted at the door and shown to our table (booking advisable). Great menu and when the food arrived it was outstanding. I would class this Indian restaurant as a very trendy place to eat and relax after a hard day at the office. Thanks to your staff and chefs for a great night and without doubt great value for money. Just a tip from my wife, she ordered 2 side dishes as her main and I would say well worth doing that as you get more than enough to perhaps share 3 sides between two people. Mark & Jo H (Leicester)"

  • "We ate at mint leaf on Sunday evening. Was pleasant, drinks were slow but the food was lovely especially the deserts. Yum yum."

  • "This is an Indian restaurant that offers a modern twist on the traditional food. Our dishes were excellent, we were a party of 8 people and all ate well. Our bill was £50 per head including drinks."

  • "We visited on a Sturday night, I had previously eaten here at lunch times. The bar staff were attentive and friendly but our waitress was not effeicient at all. We were sta at the table for 10 minutes and had to call her over to order drinks, she returned with 2 glasses without the wine and then vanished for another 5 minutes and we had to distract her to bring the wine. The food here is excellent though."

  • "Great atmosphere good food! Starter portions are small but mains portion was better. It a fine dinning restaurant so do understand. AC was hitting onto the food making it cold very quickly which was a bit disappointing. But overall great!.. Good place to take the other half!"
    dined on 20/06/2014
  • "This was my first time here, it was absolutely amazing. The food was so lovely and the ambience was perfect. The service was great, we had a waiter refill our drinks throughout.. very attentive to us, the food arrived really quick there wasn't a long wait between the starter and mains so that was perfect. Also, i requested something not on the menu and they were able to deliver it. I had a fantastic time at mint leaf restaurant and definitely would come back. One thing they could do to improve would be to put their a.c down a bit as it was a bit too cold especially the area i was seated in, my food did get cold due to the a.c being on too high. But all in all it was one of the best restaurants I've been to."

  • "3 courses and a glass of Bellini for only £22.50 it was good value for money! The dessert mango and chilli brûlée was just amazing! Would recommend this restaurant to friends and family!"

  • "Really enjoyed my visit to mint leaf with my wife. The good was excellent and the location is perfect for theatre visitors."
    dined on 19/06/2014
  • "The food was seriously good and I don't usually eat indian that much. Some of the chilli items were also not too hot with spice for my palette. Overall a great dinner!"

  • "I have dined here many times, initially at full price but more often using my Tastecard. On this occasion I booked through Opentable for the set menu and bellini/prosecco deal. It was truly fantastic value for money and the food was as superb as ever. The starter we had is one of the starters we usually order - same size under the deal. Service as usual was faultless. Happy hour was in operation too so even more value for money on the 241 cocktails. I cannot recommend this restaurant too highly. On Friday evenings they used to have a live DJ playing really cool music. Defiitely not your average, traditional Indian restaurant - very chic and sophisticated. Their cocktails are excellent, especially the PornStar martini."

  • "Great food, good selection of cocktails. Nice surroundings, clean toilets."
    dined on 06/06/2014
  • "Mint Leaf always has spectacular food, and even on the pre-theatre menu the portions were generous and beautifully presented. The staff are attentive and helpful. The only drawback, personally, is the ambience; it is in a basement and very dark and echo-ey, with lots of noisy background music and generally lots of noisy people in the adjacent bar, so it is more "lively" than "relaxing". We have to shout at each other to have a conversation, so we always have to escape early to go and get coffee somewhere else more peaceful! But it can't be faulted for inventiveness and preparation of the food, and the welcoming service."

  • "This was my fourth/fifth time at mint leaf and I went for the Mahi Tikka (salmon) yet again. I would say its one of the best made dishes in the London Indian restaurants and I will be going back again just for this dish. The only let down is the dessert. Aside from the mango cheesecake which is divine, the trio of desserts is disappointing with the cake being dry and the the pear going cold very quickly. Full marks for ambience and service though and the set menu is a bargain! I'll definitely be returning. "
    dined on 04/06/2014
  • "The special offer of £13.95 was excellent value although the wine is not cheap so the bill soon mounts up. Lovely light dishes though - not leaving you heavy and wanting to fall asleep in the theatre! I'd definitely go again."

  • "Really enjoyed this restaurant. Great food and service."

  • "We had the set menu at Mint Leaf. A delicious meal and good value though it was quite noisy. Would visit again. "

  • "Group of 4 ladies - marvellous service from the moment you step inside - warm welcome, attention to detail. Waiters constantly monitoring their tables and never had to be asked for anything - they were always there. Food was excellent and the dining experience of £30 for 4 courses plus bellini was outstanding. Definitely would return"

  • "This is my 6th visit to the restaurant and this says something. I am never disappointed with Mint Leaf; the ambienace, sheek interior, staff and ofcourse food. Everytime I have vistited - the menu changes, they keep it fresh for reglular diners which is what keep us coming back. This time, my fiancé and I opted for the pre-theatre meal as a quick fix for after work - we had the Goan Fish curry and Chicken Jalfrezzi for mains, starters was vegi/Tandoori taster and for dessert we both had the mango sorbet.. As always, the presentation was topnotch, taste; amazing, perfectly cooked and the right balances of spices. Mint leaf is very consistent all round and that's why we keep coming back for more. "

  • "A fairly average evening. Service was good apart from a tad too much " is your meal OK?" Food was OK, but nothing special to be honest. The TT deal was a good idea. There you go."
    dined on 21/05/2014
  • "The food here was good although they did get the order a bit muddled, but the staff were nice about it. The special offer for two courses was good value but the downside was the wine. The wine list was very pricey and the wine we had was poor quality. Having been in the business I know what trade prices are and restaurants like this should know better than to offer rubbish wine at extortionate prices. It doesn't make sense as this is likely to put us off from going there again which is a shame as it is so well placed for theatre land. I would rather pay full price for the food so long as the wine prices were reasonable."
    dined on 17/05/2014
  • "Delicious Indian food but elevated to a fine dining experience. We chose the seafood and vegetarian platters to start which were delicious and then a lamb and vegetarian main course with rice and naan (which was particularly delicious)."
    dined on 16/05/2014
  • "The evening started badly. 50 minutes in we'd received our drinks (as part of the deal), a plate of poppadoms and had a waiter refuse to take our order for two glasses of wine because he wasn't qualified to take wine orders! At this point, by chance the manager appeared asked how everything was and we complained vociferously. From then on everything ran like clockwork and they brought us a couple of glasses of champagne as an apology. So a frustrating start that was recovered. The food was very good. Really interesting selection of flavours in the mixed meat starter but the fish was the stand out. The Tilapia main I had was cooked to perfection and the mixed starter fish plate stunning. Overall, we'd return."

  • "Went to see Phantom of the Opera across the street and sat down for dinner at 10.00 pm. Food is excellent, but certainly not genuinely Indian, and service was excellent. Mint Leaf is a good concept but is particularly well suited for people who enjoy exotic cocktails. The atmosphere is really quite good with dimly lit tables but it can get very noisy if you are unlucky to have a group near your table. I would recommend the place but definitely not for a romantic dinner and preferably if you are not picking the tab yourself because it is expensive: £50 per head minimum and much more if you get going with the cocktails. "

  • "Food is fantastic, drinks are overpriced and a bit hurried...and not very well presented, but then it is busy restaurant in London. This is not your normal takeaway Indian.this is perfectly cooked and beautiful in flavour."
    dined on 09/05/2014
  • "Although the menu is the only remotely Indian aspect of this subterranean restaurant the food is outstanding and the service very helpful without being too pushy. You have to be careful though as adding "extras" such as rice or bread really pushed the price upand I was very grateful to be using a dining cheque. Definitely an excellent choice for a special occasion when budget considerations matter less."
    dined on 09/05/2014
  • "The service was absolutely flawless - they didn't even let our tap water run low! The food was really tasty and filling for a pretty good price (set 2 course meal for under £14). The only minus was the cost of wine, as none of the bottles were under £22."
    dined on 08/05/2014
  • "everything from quality of food and ingredients to presentation to service was of a high standard, went for the toptable offer of 3 courses for £30 and there was a sample from most things on the menu, the waitress service is very quick and of high standard. Also friendly and unpretentious"
    dined on 07/05/2014
  • "Mint Leaf offers delicious indian food with a twist! The food is presented in an elegant way without too much fuss.. However, the highlight of the evening for me were the cocktails! There is a wide selection available to choose from, albeit slightly expensive, they are fabulous !! Would definitely recommend this place.. "

  • "The staff are professional and welcoming and also well informed. There is an excellent cocktail range and the menu is inventive and well presented. Service is very swift without being apparently rushed."

  • "Great surroundings but awful indian food. I'm indian and this is defiantly not what Indian food should be about. The chef and owner should be ashamed of themselves. "
