  • "We have chosen NOPI as place for weekend brunch and were not disappointed. Food is very fresh and light. Burrata was particularly tender and fresg and aubergine/courgette frittes delicious. They also have an interesting chouce of wine but please beware if you have more classic taste. For eg prosecco looked more like fruit punch and Georgian biodynamic wine had a perplexed smell of mushrooms and smoked meat. Overall I definitely recommend it as a brunch place, although to be honest it felt a bit orvepriced for the size of portions you get (definitely a light experience)."

  • "I visited Nopi on a recent trip to London from Sydney for a Sunday lunch with family and friends and we were really impressed with the lovely service, excellent food and sumptuous cocktails. The mixture of delicate ingredients (pomegranate, orange oil, burrata...) in the dishes is really magic. I would definitely recommend Nopi for a Sunday lunch. If you want extra time it might be a good idea to let the staff know in advance, as tables are booked for 1.5 hours (having said that we were there for a good 2 hours before they needed our table back). Overall a wonderful dining experience! "

  • "We had lunch for two at NOPI. Firstly the restaurant as you walk in is very stylish and had a real buzz. We opted for a selection of sharing dishes. Non of the 5 selected disappointed in any way. The octopus was perfectly cooked, twice cooked chicken was full of flavour. We selected a crushed beetroot dish which was bursting with flavour and texture. I would also add that the fine list very reasonable for a Central London location. The service was very attentive and food was delivered with care and attention. . All in all I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant."

  • "Was recommended, but after all dissapointing. Small, poor table in the window, however asked for a quiet table. The wine was good, but too expensive (UK 10,00 for an ordinary glas of white wine). Waitres nice but in a hurry, food ok, but surely not what you should expect after a recommendation of an Ottolenghi restaurant. Many food / salads exposed on a place where people are passing by...... (hygiene...?); this is what you get! "

  • "I have always liked Ottolenghi food having several recipe books and following Yotam's very good TV series. We were thus very much looking forward to trying out the more formal dining experience at NOPI for my birthday celebrations. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing - so many wonderful, original and beautiful flavours with the very best of ingredients. Service was impeccable and we liked the decor and ambience. Will definitely be back!!"

  • "Food is good. The service is decidedly poor. The restaurant doesn't know whether it wants to be a brasserie or fine dining experience. A real pity. After being seated, we were approached by 4 different waiting staff in quick succession asking whether we wanted to order water/wine. Then a wine waiter suggested we would offer us a taste of the wine he suggested, which we though was a good touch. He then came back with only 3 of 4 options explaining we couldn't allow us to try the forth as the bar didn't have a bottle opened? Bizarre."

  • "I was disappointed but mainly due to my own high expectations. The restaurant was beautiful and the staff was friendly, we were served promptly and the food did not take too long to arrive. I was somewhat surprised my fish had so many bones in it and it was difficult to eat but nevertheless it was delicious. Overall a good experience and I would definitely recommend it."

  • "The scrambled eggs and salmon used to be absolutely incredible with thick cut salmon and a little coconut chutney. This made them exceptional and I always book business meetings here for that reason. This time they were quite ordinary and although delicious...I was a bit disappointed that they didn't come with the chutney. The juice was delicious and I know the food here is amazing. I was just looking forward to something which didn't quite come up to scratch. Maybe it was an off day. They were having problems with their gas."

  • "The helpful staff and modern, friendly ambiance was welcoming from the start. The sweet potato starter was a great compilation of flavours and textures whilst not being too filling. The fish dish was sublime with a subtle mixture of tastes coming through. Unfortunately the twice cooked baby chicken was very dry and difficult to remove from the bone although the lemon myrtle salt added a delicious tang to the dish. Best of all was the trifle! Layer upon layer of sweet sponge, smooth creme frache and sharp blackcurrant sorbet topped with crisp crumble. A delight! All this was rounded off with a crisp clean Italian wine, one of the best I have ever tasted making it truly memorable dining experience, one I am eager to repeat!"

  • "spacious places, good ambience, good atmosphere but especially good food. dishes to share as a starter is a good choice. we got a good service and advise for the starters, i.e. roasted aubergine with goats cheese and spicy walnuts. the taste of the food is really not european and we found it very interesting. Slovenian Riesling was of real quality. for everybody who loves cooking from the books of Ottolenghi, if you are in London you must go to this restaurant. "

  • "Staff very welcoming, friendly and pleasant. The venue, even though it was full with (talking) guests, has good acoustics so it does not become a chicken farm, where chatting becomes impossible. For dinner we (4 people) ordered 10/11 starters or dishes to share, to have a more extended tasting experience. Lovely dishes where amazing flavours were joined together, leaving you wanting more. Obviously there will always be a dish that won't hit the spot, but that is due to individual taste and not to how it is prepared. Will definitely eat here again and recommend to others."

Had a number of the sharing dishes, octopus and pork excellent, mackerel served warm but with a cold sauce and this did not work very well. Also venison was a measly 3 thin slices and not worth the price. Overall though I will return as food is generally excellent."

  • "Such lovely food. A great choice of unusual ingredients, so we ordered loads! Service was so quick that it was all gone far too soon. It felt healthy though and we weren't overly full. The drinks bump up the bill considerably; we couldn't ignore the cocktails - but should have probably. Nice touch that water and bread are complimentary, though the 10% service charge is mandatory. Not that I begrudged it at all - would have left at least that anyway. I do wish there were a branch closer to Cardiff. In fact come and open up in Cardiff....please."

The food is so good, but the experience is marred by the insistent beat of bad synthesized music that almost prevents conversation.   • "We enjoyed a delicious lunch of proscuitto followed by four sharing plates - crushed beetroot, spiced cauliflower, octopus and venison. All beautifully presented with very distinctive flavours. The portion sizes are on the small side. We also had dessert - chocolate and lychee sorbet, both gorgeous. We had a glass of wine each and finished with a shot of the Kings Ginger liqueur. All in all, top class food in a restaurant with a vibrant, lively atmosphere. We left feeling satisfied, but not full by any means, though we felt we had eaten healthily. The service was excellent and the toilets are certainly worth a visit! The bill was £91, including an optional 12 1/2% service charge, so expensive in our terms, but Ok for a special occasion."

  • "the food was totally delicious and just the right amount of it. the cocktails too were super tasty. the atmosphere is really fun and the long, commual table down the centre of the room with high stools makes for lively and unusual dining. if i had one complaint (at the risk of sounding like a geriatric), the rock music that blasted from speakers all evening was so loud, i spent the evening bellowing at my (selectively deaf) boyfriend across the table. the only person i could hear with any great clarity was the irritatingly mopey and whingey girl to my left. but if you have excellent hearing and like japanese-ish fusion tapas with delicious cocktails, i would definitely recommend this place for a date or dinner before a night out."

  • "I met friends for brunch at Nopi this weekend, mainly because I'd had an outstanding lunch there a few weeks ago and was keen to go back. Sadly breakfast wasn't as impressive. We waited ages for food (and they forgot one of our dishes even then) and when it came the portions were tiny and my eggs were cold. Good coffee though. We were also rushed out at the end, despite the fact they had delayed our meals for so long. What a shame. I can highly recommend for lunch/dinner but would avoid breakfast in the future."

  • "We have been to Nopi a few times and have always had a great time. The food is incredible so we were looking forward to another Ottolenghi experience BUT..... the music was completely inappropriate to the ambience. It would have been fine if we were heading off afterwards to a club but looking around at the demographic I cant imagine anyone would have been checking out the nearest hotspot. Then the service was officious, totally impersonal and it seemed they couldn't wait until we had put our forks down for them to whip away our plates - no such opportunity to mop up the last bits of amazingness with your bread!! Sadly the fantastic food was overshadowed by the craziness of the music and waiting staff."
