A word from Norbiton and Dragon
Kingston-upon-Thames’s Norbiton and Dragon is not only a traditional British pub but it’s also a really very good Thai restaurant. While the concept of Asian restaurants inside pubs isn’t new, there are few places that mix the two as seamlessly as the Norbiton and Dragon where guests enjoy all their favourite drinks in a cosy, relaxed bar as well as delectable authentic South East Asian flavours in a stylish, modern restaurant setting. While maintaining the innate character and charm of this idiosyncratic curved building, the owners of the Norbiton and Dragon have breathed new life in to the space with a décor of natural dark wood and deep, warm red. On the packed, tempting menus you’ll find a whole host of dishes made to suit almost every taste, from indulgent banquets to sophisticated tasting options and full a la carte featuring the best of Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Had a very enjoyable lunch with work colleagues to celebrate a birthday. Food is always good quality and there's plenty of it. Staff very attentive as usual and the wine was very nice. Only slight let down was wiping the table off at the end of the meal with a cloth that was in serious need of cleaning as it left the table smelling stale, but this was a minor point.

Went here for dinner. Food was (as usual) excellent. Service was a bit disappointing and we did wonder if the management had changed. I'm sure the waitresses used to wear beautiful Thai dresses but tonight they were in (boring) black. We've been before and we'll go again I'm sure. If you like Thia food, this is a good place to choose.

Food quality is always excellent at the Norbiton and the wines are good quality, if a little pricey. What let down this visit was some inattentive service, despite being one of only two tables seated during the lunchtime period and having our table wiped down with a dirty cloth which left the table smelling horrible for the last part of our meal. Hopefully two things that will be easily rectified. Will return as it's been the exception to some very nice meals before.

Overall great food and everyone had the best time, but the waitress could not cope with a large party, smaller tables had no problems, but we were left waiting quite a while, but the drink and the chatter flowed and the food was amazing and great value for money. Will definitely go again.

I've been coming to the Norbiton & Dragon for a while, and every time I am struck by the value for money, especially for the set menus. We had the Tuk-Tuk menu and it was truly great. Great service, nice place and relaxed atmosphere. I can't comment on what it is like outside as I've never been outside there, but it would appear there is a good outdoor area there too.

We booked lunch to celebrate a birthday and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and well presented, service was top notch and very pleasant surroundings - very modern and pleasant. What a treat! Plus once you've finished your meal in the restaurant you can pop outside into the beautiful garden to to sip a cool drink and digest and relax. Perfect! We will defiantly be going again. Surprised it wasn't busier - a real find!

Norbiton & Dragon has really good quality Thai food with a good range of set menus and individual stir fries and curries. The dining room is separate to the main pub and has some beautiful Thai-style decor, the only drawback is the music seems to be the same as in the pub which does not really suit a romantic meal.

I've walked past this pub MANY times without ever thinking to go in until I wanted a Thai meal in Kingston...... this place seemed worth a try based on other reviews. We had a really nice meal from the wide selection of dishes and set menus (we had the most expensive set menu at £29 each), all dishes were nicely prepared and tasted great. The only minor point was that the thai noodle dish that came with our meal was a very average type of chow mein.... a bit bland and not as nice as the other dishes. Overall a really nice meal, good value and good portions mean we'll return again soon.

We had a Tastecard so 50% off. Service was terribly slow to start with - we mentioned we were in a hurry & the waitress looked very doubtful - but only 2 tables were occupied. The starter finally arrived - freezing cold & unimpressive. The waitress was dealing with the other table taking no notice of us at all - conscious of the time we ate a cold prawn toast & spring roll. We then found a helpful male member of staff who apologised, removed the rest of the starter & brought our main courses. These were fabulous - hot and tasty & thoroughly enjoyable. But we were still charged in full for the starter platter. We could not be bothered to argue so paid in full but docked the tip, I would recommend the main courses but allow plenty of time!

We are so lucky here in Kingston to have such a wonderful and authentic Thai restaurant on our doorstep. Have been to the Norbiton and Dragon on several occasions, and am never disappointed. This time, we took our 3 children for an early evening meal to celebrate a 13th birthday - all the children found something on the menu to eat, and enjoy, which made for a fun and relaxing time. Would definitely recommend for any occasion!

Have dined at this Thai a number of times and always found the food to be excellent. Attached to a lively pub so there is a good selection of drinks which is lot more comprehensive than a standard restaurant. Wine is a bit pricey but there is one reasonable priced option which is more than adequate. Although restaurant wasn't full service was al ittle slow but not so much that it detracted from the evening. I would definitely recommend this for a casual evenings dining with good qulaity food

Don't be put off by the area, it's a great place to enjoy thai cuisine in a relaxed atmospheric setting. The staff are very efficient and attentive, eager to please and you won't wait long for your food. I will definitely be booking again.

We enjoyed a mid-week meal at the Norbiton and Dragon in Kingston, Surrey. The food, as always, was very good. Monkfish and potato currey was pretty hot, but very tasty and Drunken prawns excellent. The restaurant is at theback of the pub, but a separate area. The staff were a bit thin on the ground, but very keen to help. A favourite of ours. Perhaps not the very best Thai restaurant, but consistent high quality and reasonable value mean we'll be going back again and would recommend it.

Norbiton & Dragon at the bottom of Kingston Hill. Good selection of Thai dishes and something for everyone's palate. The place was very busy and the two waitresses were definitely under pressure, but just about got round to everyone in the knick of time before it became an issue. Good atmosphere but the damp stains on the walls in the back room could do with a little attention.

What a pleasant surprise this place is! It doesn't look massively promising from the outside, but inside it's just great. The food was very authentic - I spent a few months travelling in Thailand - and the decor and atmosphere was wonderful. The only downside was the service, which was both slow and inattentive.

Norbiton and Dragon in Norbiton was my second visit and lived up to its reputation for excellent Thai food and great ambience. It was very welcoming for our pre Xmas lunch with the roaring fire and crackers on the table. The service was good and prompt. We ordered from the set menu the Tuk Tuk and River. The main dishes arrived en masse and sadly the sea bass with lemon grass was eaten last and was very cold by the time we ate it. It would be better to bring this dish last.
