I was given a very small table for two so asked to be seated at an empty table for four. The Manager abruptly told me my guest and I would have to vacate it by 5pm (i.e. 1.5 hours) as that was when they got busy? However, by 5pm, the Manager's shift had ended and the replacement Manager made no such request. Equally, most of the tables were empty at 5pm! Part of the afternoon tea was delicious - perfect sandwiches and a hot scone with jam and cream. Also the tea. However, the "dessert" portion of the menu was rather odd. A small cheesecake and a rather small brownie with something drizzled on it. But also there were two glasses of Eton Mess? Thankfully we had eaten enough with the sandwiches and scones so left the dessert. Not their fault of course that we did not eat it but then it turned out to be a rather expensive afternoon tea (with 12.5% service added on).

Starters were very good but beef in the main was quite tough and the gravy much too thick & rich. With a huge Yorkshire pudding the plate really did need proper gravy

This is a friendly brasserie style restaurant with pleasant service and reasonable food. We chose it due to its proximity to the Coliseum. The atmosphere is nice. My guest particularly requested no pepper on her dish but it did arrive with pepper . However this was replaced promptly and without any fuss. I was given the wrong starter but when I asked if this was really the roasted vegetable dish I had ordered I was assured it was - when in fact it was an orso salad with vegetables and cheese. It was tasty so I did not insist on a replacement . So this was a mixed experience but the dishes were tasty and the service agreeable.

I have eaten at Palm Court Brasserie a few times before, but on this occasion the food was disappointing. I had the Beef bourguignon for my main course and it was tiny and half of the meat was too gristley to eat.

Food was tasty and the wine too. Just a shame I was so full I couldn't try the dessert. I had the fillet steak with peppercorn sauce which was wonderful. My boyfriend had the lobster Thermidor which was tasty. The only thing was is that we expected more lobster than there was. Highly recommend booking as the queue was out the door!

When we arrived at the restaurant, it was packed so after a consultation with the Maitre D' we went next door for a drink. Arriving back at the restaurant, our table was still not quite ready, so we were offered a complimentary glass of wine as we waited. There was a fantastic atmosphere in the restaurant as nobody seemed to be in a hour to leave. Our table became free and we set about ordering. Between us we ordered French Onion Soup, Chicken Liver & Foie Gras Parfait & Whole Tiger Prawns. All were delicious. Our mains were Seafood Linguine & Rump of Lamb. We all expect good restaurants to be able to produce good meals, however the really good ones can deliver under pressure. Given the fact that the restaurant was incredibly busy, we were a little concerned that the quality of the food would suffer. We need not have worried. Our food was incredibly good, everything cooked superbly well. The service was excellent and we all had a wonderful time. When the bill arrived we all agreed that we all would have paid more than it cost and that it represented fantastic value for money.

Booked on the basis of good reviews on OpenTable for a pre theatre meal. Had a table reserved for 5.15 and arrived 5.10. It was very busy even then but a good atmosphere. We were greeted, shown to a table and given menu and water very swiftly. Menu choice was good and drink order taken quickly. Service did start to slow down but we had until 6.45pm before we need to leave so no hurry. Starter arrived and went well. Delay with main course where my wife's meal arrived then a delay for my mussels then a further delay/request for 'frites', (mussels started) then a further delay for a glass of wine! Such a shame as the food was good. We were now approaching 6.15 so ordered a panna cotta and a coffee. No sign of this despite several attempts to get attention then at 6.45 gave up and paid the bill. Waiter did say sorry but it did take the edge of the meal. I noticed that the 6.30 arrivals were obviously being attended to but by then no time for the departing guests. it was the same at the table next to us but they did at least get their dessert. In summary 'over promised and under delivered' which is a shame as the food was good.

I went to palm court last night on a first date. I hadn't heard anything about it before, but chose it for the good reviews. There is a reason for the good reviews as the good is perfect. I couldn't fault it at all. The service was a little interesting, the gentleman who was serving us had a slightly interesting style to serving us, such as being a bit huffy when we didn't want to order all 3 courses at once, as how were we meant to know if we would want pudding? And was a little pushy to get our wine order at the same time as the food. Although, I still wouldn't say it was bad service, just interesting, if anything I found it a little amusing. The ambience in there considering the location is surprisingly not too loud, which is nice.

Came here on a last minute booking as the other restaurant which i had booked called an hour before to cancel. Reading the reviews on here i thought Palm Court Brasserie would be a good alternative. The starter (parfait) was ok, my main was poor – had the pork, it was tough and burnt in some parts. Chorizo and aubergine were burnt; almost charcoal like. Dessert of crème brûlée was good. Our waiter was somewhat aggressive but warmed up towards the end - “hurrying” us to make a decision. I asked for a St Clements and got pineapple juice. Understandably we had a few late comers but we were able to order for them, but when trying to find waiter or get attention it was challenging then slow. Won't be rushing back!!!

I have visited the Palm Court Brasserie on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed with the quality of food, service or ambience experienced. Choices range from their a la carte to reduced choice set menus, still giving a very nice choice of dishes at reasonable prices. A stone's throw from Charring Cross station, nudging Covent Garden, it is in a lovely location and has suited each dining occasion from lunching with a group to dinner for two. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a relaxed yet thoroughly enjoyable dining experience without being fleeced!!

My first experience of Palm court brasserie was very positive. Booked for a pretty Theatre meal found it to be very good value, ambiance pleasant, staff & service efficient without being overwhelming. The best thing(apart from the food) was absence of loud music so was able to speak without having to shout. Will definitely go again.
