Diner Reviews
  • "Really good spot for dinner and have been several times though the last time food was not quite up to 5star standards though still good so may have been a one off. Food and drink prices are very reasonable for the location and service is to a very high standard"

  • "This was the best meal I have had for ages, everythinhg was perfect, the food the service and the ambience. Would highly recommend and will definetly be going again."

  • "Visited twice in two days. The first time we needed a quick turn round pre-theatre dinner and managed two courses which were very well-presented, cooked and served. Excellent. Next day we returned for a leisurely three course meal from the "Specials" Menu which was good except for the half chicken which was too large, with the quantity exacerbated by the inclusion of an unwanted by a huge Yorkshire pudding."

  • "I have been here several times now and it is always excellent in every way. Really good food and service. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Terrific value for money."

  • "We booked this place with the special offer, they used to have the duck breast but this time they take it off the list. In general we think that the mains were a bit salty, but the starters and dessert was pretty good."

  • "Had a pre-theatre meal, which was tasty and delivered quickly by very friendly staff."

  • "Lovely little place and with the 50% of great value. We went for the Baked Brie starter which was lovely and the tiger prawns and lobster thermador mains and must say was gorgeous."

  • "It was our first time at Palm Court. Service was friendly, some dishes better than others, lamb and seabass were our highlights. Overall, with the 50% TT offer, very good value."

  • "Really good meal and nice ambience and service. £150 for 5 of us was not bad value, but did not get offered any of the discounts offered on Opentable"

  • "Food generally was excellent although the Sirloin Steak (blue) was unacceptably cold when it was delivered to the table. Additionally the meat was extremely difficult to cut. The service of the desserts (4 crème brulees & 2 ice creams) took longer than we expected and was justified, particularly since we had previously indicated that we needed to complete our meal in good time so to get to the Lyceum for the afternoon performance."

  • "Booked with top table 50% off deal. Steaks were not included in the offer which is a shame because I wouldn't mind paying extra surcharge for it. without the steaks there are hardly any beef dishes in the menu. But overall quality of food was good. All four of us went for three courses from the a la carte menu. Each dish were tasty and nicely presented. Chianti was delicious too. Service was efficient and prompt and our waiter was really nice and friendly so were the rest of the staff we came to contact with. 50% discount on food made the meal outstanding value overall. I would most definitely visit again and would be very happy to recommend Palm Court for a very pleasant dining experience. Well done Palms. Keep up the good work."

  • "I actually went with a friend, but this Parisienne style dinner stop would also work perfectly for a date. Candles, attentive service (though slacked near the end of the meal), and delicious food that can be shared. We used the 50% voucher which made everything superb in terms of value for money. It was good quiet for a post-theatre meal, meant that we were out of the door and in bed at a reasonable hour - I can imagine the atmosphere to be a lot more lively and approachable earlier in the evening, as it's just off Covent Garden. Would highly recommend."

  • "We arrived early. Directed to a place to get drinks. The waiter then came to find us when he had got the table ready. Excellent meal good service."

  • "Three pals & I met up here for a gossipy lunch & it proved to be the perfect venue: cheerful, friendly, lively with delicious food & wine. We used the 2 course lunch option which was really good value. The main menu looked good too. The attentive service was unobtrusive and despite the busyness we never felt rushed so could enjoy our time together & linger over our coffee. We'll certainly return."

  • "Booked myself and boyfriend in at Palm Court on a Friday night. We ended up running very late for our table, yet it was no issue for them to push our booking back by 45 minutes. We received a warm welcome and were given a choice of two tables. We ordered a bottle of chateauneuf du pape, which was delightful, and went straight for a main course. When ordering the lamb I was asked how I'd like it cooked - excellent! The lamb and the summer chicken were both divine. We skipped dessert as it was extremely late, but the entire experience was perfect, I would highly recommend this quaint little restaurant."

  • "Sea bass was not hot when served and excessively greasy, so much so that the entire plate left grease stains on the table cloth. Side of' steamed' new potatoes, also came coated in oil or butter. Dessert was equally disappointing - too much chocolate (and of an inferior quality) in the affogato - completely overpowered the coffee and ice cream which are supposed to be the two key ingredients in the dish. Service was civil but inattentive and distracted. Many other establishments within walking distance of this restaurant offer considerably better quality and better value. Premises tired and shabby, and ladies' toilets in need of general repairs."

  • "Return visit to my favourite restaurant in London was, as usual, most enjoyable with welcoming reception, delivious food and excellent service."

  • "We've dined at Palm Court Brasserie many times which is testament to how much we enjoy the experience. On this occasion we asked for a quiet table and were not disappointed. We opted to take the pre-theatre menu which suited our palates for the evening and we were quite happy to pay the modest supplements for the dishes ordered. All the food was cooked to perfection but what really made our evening was the excellent friendly service."

  • "A little office party. Lovely time with great food, service and wine WC"

  • "All too frequently in London, and I eat out a lot, the service provided doesn't warrant the 12.5% service charge added to the bill. At Palm Court Brasserie, for the four times I have been there, they have provided very attentive service, good quality food and I am very happy to pay the service charge. Thoroughly recommend."

  • "We had an enjoyable meal from the pre theatre menu and service was prompt. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, which was quite pleasant but we felt out of the buzz of the main area. However, it was still good value and we will go again."
    dined on 06/08/2014
  • "Our steaks were undercooked/overcooked. The manager did apologise to us and honoured the %50 discount even though it doesn't apply to steaks."
    dined on 05/08/2014
  • "Great restaurant with lovely ambience - delightful welcome and ongoing service - delicious 2 course menu and reasonably priced wine. 50 per cent off a la carte menu represented excellent value - we will return and recommend to friends"
    dined on 05/08/2014
  • "Took my parents here on the 50% offer as they were in town for Mum's birthday and we couldn't have felt more welcome. The place was absolutely buzzing so not ideal if you wanted a quiet night but our waiter was lovely and made a fuss of Mum from the minute we sat down. I'm not a massive fan of some french style brasseries but the menu here really had something for all of us, the summer chicken casserole was light but flavoursome and the seabass equally delicious and perfectly seasonal. Dad couldn't rate the seafood soup more highly and the brie in filo and the cured salmon were also delicious. We didn't save room for dessert unfortunately but maybe next time will be more successful! Will definitely be back!"

  • "Took friends who were visitng London here for dinner pre theatre and again, it was incredible. Service is great, food is great and the atmosphere is great. Can't fault it. Catherine"

  • "Fabulous food and great value. Service was excellent and the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. Very convenient if you've been to the theatre or just been wandering around Covent Garden. Highly recommended,"

  • "I can no honestly believe how this place makes money. All the food was amazing as we're the staff and the venue and all for a bargain price. Nothing was to much for these guys. Service was attentive and friendly but not over the top. The venue was first class. I fail to see how people could be disappointed with this quaint little place right in the heart of our nation."

  • "Whenever I travel to London for leisure, I always try to eat here. Great location, superb staff (friendly and helpful) providing great service, delicious food and excellent value for money for its location. I'd recommend booking on a Saturday (even for lunch) - it gets very busy!"
    dined on 01/08/2014
  • "Good food, good service (though since they add 12.5% to the bill it ought to be!) and nice environment. Very good place for pre theatre dining."
    dined on 30/07/2014
  • "Arrived an hour early for late lunch, staff were attentive, seated us immediately, no fuss. Food was 'DELICIOUS'. I had Brie in filo starter, cooked to perfection (no soggy bottom 'pastry') crispy all round. My friend had tiger prawns in garlic butter again cooked to perfection. For our main, we had the Lamb rump with dauphinoise potatoes and spinach. We asked for our lamb to be medium well, lamb was tender, moist and succulent. Dauphinoise flavoured subtly with garlic and a cheesy topping. Good sized portions, served in good time, attentive, polite waiters, couldn't do enough for us. What can I say but two very contented diners left the restaurant soon to return. Oh yes! even GREATER VALUE with 50% off food with Opentable booking."
    dined on 30/07/2014
  • "Good food. Outstanding service - well paced, friendly and humorous. No hint at all that we were on a special deal. Would happily go back."
    dined on 29/07/2014
  • "Great restaurant in buzzy location near Covent Garden - I've eaten here many times and always had great food, at good value and attentive service."
    dined on 29/07/2014
  • "Good food, nice atmosphere, perfect location for a pre-theatre/cinema night out. We keep going back and the various offer they have makes this good value."
    dined on 29/07/2014
  • "We were shown to our table promptly. The service was good, however the only criticism is that the table water we asked for was not very cold. Good food and it arrived quickly. Would reccommend"
    dined on 29/07/2014
  • "Really liked this place. Went on a Monday night and there was still a good atmosphere and the food was good. Service was attentive and the price was really good with the deal."
    dined on 28/07/2014
  • "Second time here and not as good as the first. Had the reasonably prices pre theatre menu. Brie in pastry starter was burnt - would have sent it back had we not been a bit pushed for time. My pork steak was okay but the sauce was far too sweet and had been reduced to the consistency of toffee. Other choices were fine though. I will probably use the place again but with less confidence the next time."
    dined on 28/07/2014
  • "Restaurant looks nice but the food was very mediocre and very overpriced (£100+ for a 3 course meal for 2 with wine plus 1 drink!?). Food is the standard of an OK pub that's trying to raise it's game."
    dined on 27/07/2014
  • "I had a lovely meal here with my parents who were visiting us in London. It was a great central location for visitors and the restaurant was a perfect setting for a special dinner. The food selection was great, came very quickly and tasted great. The service from our waiter was particularly nice (I don't remember his name but he had a piercing in his gum at the front). Great night all round and great value for the quality food and service."
    dined on 27/07/2014
  • "We only get to london at least once a year for a weekend, and always come to palm court for Sunday lunch. Always great service and lovley meals."
    dined on 27/07/2014
  • "We had a very enjoyable afternoon tea on Saturday. The staff we excellent and the ambience, as always, is very good. My only criticism is that the selection of goodies was very good but they offered cheesecake instead of proper cakes - none of these were eaten, so it was a waste. Also they offered eaton mess, which is lovely of course, at the appropriate time, but not part of a tea package. Other than that all very good. We did have to ask for more tea, it was not automatically offered!!"
