A word from Paramount
Paramount restaurant is perched on top of London’s iconic Centre Point tower - the grade II listed high rise building at the junction of Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street.

Before we start on the food, let's state the obvious – yes, the view is fabulous. Diners can admire a 360 degree view out across London and, in the champagne bar on the very top floor, enjoy the viewing gallery with floor to ceiling windows.

The restaurant specialises in sophisticated modern European cuisine and, although the members-only restriction was lifted in 2010, still has a dress code and a high society feel.

The food is a mix of classic British flavours and more adventurous twists; foie gras and duck terrine with apple and fig pastilla rubs shoulders with rib eye steak served with goose fat chips.

Opinion is divided over whether the better view is to be had during the day or the evening - perhaps the best bet is to dine at sunset for the best of both.

Diner Reviews
  • "Second visit to Paramount. Enjoyed all aspects, especially the view. Food tasted good, although it could have been hotter! Overall though. Great experience. Nice staff, too."

  • "My mum booked a table at paramount for my 22nd birthday... All I can say is AMAZING ! from the stunning views to the best service I've ever recieved in a restaraunt the food all came out in good timing, the waitior made my birthday extra special and knew exactly what was on the menu and what to recommend ! The restaraunt was clean and all staff were cheerful. Very impressed and will be returning very soon."

A Faire!!!"

  • "Went to Paramount for a birthday supper. Great food and really good value with the special offer. Only shame is that wine and water and drinks are so very expensive they push the cost up"
    dined on 12/08/2014
  • "My wife and I were in London to celebrate her birthday and this restaurant was just fantastic. The waiter recommended some excellent choices from the menu and really looked after us all evening, even down to the "Happy Birthday" dessert. If you can get the south side view, it is more iconic London, but the view is great all the way round and you can always enjoy the after dinner drink in the bar on the floor above, where you can walk around and get the full effect. Thanks very much Paramount for a fantastic evening."

  • "Not much to say really, but that's because I am a big fan, return regularly, and say much the same each time. In short, in a place where the view is the main attraction, food and service are both excellent, and I still don't think it's very expensive. Well done Paramount, a great offer, and consistent. The set menu, always worth a look, was a knockout on this spur-of-the-moment-lunch occasion, and kept the lid on costs even more, despite choosing the two most expensive glasses of wine on the (reasonable) by-the-glass list. As always with Paramount, it's tempting to go back with friends or family to hit the - again not greedily priced - wine list by the bottle. Oh, one fresh comment: the new Green Hour martini is also a knockout!"

  • "I wish it weren't, as myself and foodie friends would visit several times a year, despite less than advantageous location near Tottenham Court Road tube. £138 for 2, 3 courses a la carte dinner, only 2 glasses house champagne and 1 glass sauvignon blanc. If bill had been £25 less, I'd be there frequently. Fabulous skyline views and creative, delicious food. Service very good, just needed a small injection of good humour to make it excellent. Linen on the tables would also lift it even higher. Well worth going for special occasion."

  • "The food was lovely and the service in the restaurant was very good. My issue is with the reception on the ground floor... I was taking my wife out for a surprise meal for her birthday and had arranged for two other people to be at the restaurant. They text me to confirm they had arrived and also they told the receptionist it was a surprise and DO NOT confirm the booking is a table for 4 people, let us go upstairs and them being there will be a surprise. So what does she say, yes I can see your table is for 4 people... the other two members of your party have been waiting upstairs... Less than 5 minutes ago she had been asked not to say this... She then remember it was supposed to be a surprise but by then it was too late."

  • "Really love the view , however the lighting is a little too dim to the extent that you cannot actually see the colour of your food! There were four of us dining - the lobster was nice. 3 of us had steak for our mains and unfortunately , the waiter got it wrong and gave the wrong steak ( medium is very diff to well done) - a quick swap was the solution! We would go back , the view is great , food is nice - cocktails are also nice. For the four of us the bill came to around £340 ( this included cocktails, sparkling and still water and three of us had dessert too which was a sizeable portion. One thing I will say is there is a stench around the elevator area at the entrance of the restaurant just by the bar."

  • "Wonderful location& ambience . Staff were very attentive & helpful- though we did find staff struggled to maintain this when it became busier later in service . Food & presentation was amazing ."
    dined on 01/08/2014
  • "Service was great- all the waiters were nice and friendly and great pastries, however the potato and ham hash with pan fried duck egg just wasn't nice. The green tea I ordered was also over-brewed and came out bitter (they did replace this as soon as I asked though!)"

  • "Location stunning with wonderful views of London- expensive drinks"
    dined on 31/07/2014
  • "A fantastic restaurant with stunning views and amazing food, ideal for a special occasion. On arriving at Centre Point, the building work nearby makes the entrance a tad shoddy but once you get to the reception, it feels much more apt. The restaurant itself is stunning and I loved the decor! Sat next to the windows, we had amazing views of The City, Tower Bridge & even Canary Wharf! The service was excellent. But the food was sensational! I had the Crab starter & Cod main, both were unbelievably tasty with so many flavours that worked amazing together! Also had beautiful wine to compliment the meal. Would highly recommend a visit! The restaurant may not be deemed as 'cool' as it once was, but the food and views are well worth visiting."

  • "Where do I start? I treated my wife to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary. The food was absolutely incredible, one of the best dining meals I have ever experienced. The quality was exceptional and the care and presentation of the meal was done with passion. The service was also absolutely fantastic, the waiter's were extremely helpful and cheery. We were also surprised when we were brought a dessert plate saying Happy Anniversary on it even though we hadn't even mentioned it to the waiter. It made us feel really special. Finally, the view of London is absolutely stunning, especially at sunset, it certainly helped add to our experience. Very expensive, however always nice to properly treat yourself every now and then!"

  • "This place is a little gem. Excellent views and the manager and waiting staff were brilliant!"

  • "I cannot believe that I have only just found out about this delightful restaurant!!! Definitely visit the upstairs bar before starting your meal you can do a 360 tour of the fantastic London skyline. The food is to a really high standard and the service was great - informed but not at all stuffy. Methinks this will become a new regular for me :)"
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "All you get is the view, not a lot to choose from on the menu. I can't fault the service and ambience"
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "Went for breakfast (they do an excellent full English) as a family treat. Thoroughly enjoyable and you can also go up to the viewing gallery up one floor to make the most of the 360degree views of London. Astounding."
    dined on 25/07/2014
  • "The restaurant was very noisy, we can hardly hear each other in one table. We have ordered Duck, but on the menu it wasnt stated that is a steak. The waitress didnt ask what kind of steak we would like, and it was served as rare. The view from restaurant was very nice, and the service was in time."
    dined on 23/07/2014
  • "The view in the restaurant is just perfect ! Have a dinner here at night to see all the light of the city is beautiful. And you can enjoy the view with a very good food and the waiters are very nice"
    dined on 21/07/2014
  • "Great view and atmosphere took my partner here for his birthday and they gave us a table by the window as I had requested. Good service although they ran out of both things we asked got on the menu and it was only 9pm! This was very disappointing. The good we had was excellent although not our first choice ! Would give it another try."
    dined on 19/07/2014
  • "We started our evening at Paramount, like most, in the bar with outstanding views over London. We had a superb evening here but it was unfortunately the bar area which let the place down - it is rather tired looking and in need of a a refurbishment. Given the (London) prices of the drinks the service too could have been a whole lot better - they probably lost a round of drinks from us because we couldn't get the girl's attention. That said, on the restaurant side, the service was very good, the waiter very helpful and attentive, and the food really was excellent - and at what we thought were very reasonable prices for what we had."
    dined on 18/07/2014
  • "The food and drinks were really nice but the building is so ugly from the outside and needs modernising inside too. Views are brilliant but the entire building is really dated and mainly for that reason I feel like it is quite overpriced. When we arrived I think we were both disappointed by the look of the buidling from the outside which is never a good way to start a dinner. I went with a friend for her birthday and we got chatting to a waiter who gave us both a free cocktail at the end of our meal which was really nice and all staff were really attentive and friendly so I can't fault the service. Just wish it was a slightly nicer setting."
    dined on 17/07/2014
  • "I took my friend here for a birthday treat and it was perfect. We had a seat by the window and just watched the view change through sunset into the evening. A great novel place that isn't always as fully booked as other viewing platform bars/restaurants."
    dined on 15/07/2014
  • "Unfortunately I did not enjoy my meal at all. I felt the quality of the food was poor and the restaurant carried itself on the views of London alone."
    dined on 13/07/2014
  • "Great Resturant if you want a party atmosphere, the bar is noisy and open to the Resturant which makes it hard to talk. We were a group of 6 but it was impossible for us to hear each other so we had to chat to the people nearest to us. The environment is quite hard, there are no table clothes or soft furnishings so the sound just bounces around everywhere. Basically the focus here is more trendy 'pre club' bar than up market Resturant. However the views are stunning, the service was good, the food was yummy, the lighting was good, it could be excellent if they sorted the noise issue out - or just go there when you are in the mood for a party before going clubbing. Hope that is helpful - enjoy."
    dined on 10/07/2014
  • "Paramount on top of Centre Point has a wonderful view of london. The food is better than I expected. sometimes restaurants that rely on the view can be a let down when the food arrives. This one wasn't. After eating, or instead of eating, go up one floor to a viewing gallery that runs right round the building."
    dined on 09/07/2014
  • "Perfect restaurant for an anniversary or a special event. Great staff and tasty food"
    dined on 07/07/2014
  • "Enjoyed our dinner. Service only ok food very good and nice presentation. It did get a bit noisy as most diners grouped in one area. Cannot beat the view. Amazing."
    dined on 07/07/2014
  • "Took my friends visiting from Australia to Paramount as a wedding present and they loved it. Perfect for those visiting London for the first time."
    dined on 06/07/2014
  • "Fantastic view...shame that's the only good thing in favour of the Paramount! Food very standard...service poor...very noisy atmosphere...would only ever go for drinks in future before dining elsewhere...staff attitude...am I bothered?"
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "We visited on Sat 5th July. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly and the view just wonderful. The decor was a bit tired but didn't spoil the overall experience."
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "lovely food and service in the restaurant. The bar staff were less responsive. Waited to be served whilst they were chatting to each other. The bar above was the same. The area did not smell fresh. Stale alcohol. uninviting. not sure i would return."
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "I booked a table for my wife's birthday. The food was great and view fantastic! Staff very helpfully. Would come again to try tea and cakes... The bar upstairs allowed you to walk round to get a full 360 view. The only slightly off putting bit was a sign warning of asbestos if you enter the stairs to the roof which was locked-off (but guess that's to be expected from a 1960s building)."
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "I booked afternoon for my friend's birthday (as discussed when they called to confirm the booking) but was disappointed that they make no provision for birthdays. Upon arrival we were seated at a table with amazing views over the city but had to wait fifteen minutes for someone to take our drinks order. Once the champagne and afternoon tea arrived we were impressed. The food was delicious - the sandwiches very imaginative and the scones were tasty."
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "Went to Paramount for lunch with a group of friends- I have been here before for afternoon tea & I would definitely recommend. Lunch was good- but for the money I wouldn't say spectacular. I had a brie ravioli, which was in fact quite disappointing- one piece of cheese stuffed ravioli & a medium slice of brie, a few beetroots & some salad leaves. It was rich & presented nicely, but not worth £20!! My girlfriends both had duck & said it was delicious so maybe I just chose badly. Dessert-chocolate fondant cake- was much better, service was friendly if a little slow to start with & we did have some great cocktails. Of course the view is the main draw but for me, it lacked that certain something that makes so many other restaurants special."
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "I brought 3 friends here. All 4 of us liked the food and the opportunity to sit in the viewing gallery above."
    dined on 03/07/2014
  • "Wonderful views and fantastic food. Portions were on the small side, I ordered a portion of chips and received 6 chips, however overall I had a very enjoyable experience at Paramount. The staff were very welcoming and attentive"
    dined on 02/07/2014
  • "The paramount take on afternoon tea is great. The sandwiches were highly original, with great flavours and prepared in unusual shapes. The scones were probably the best I have ever tasted. I was less impressed by the cakes, I think every one had cream, which is a little heavy after everything else. But there was a selection of 5 all in different shapes. The champagne was tasty enough. And then aside from this, their window seats offer some of the best views in London! It was a truly great experience, and we will definitely be back!"
    dined on 02/07/2014
  • "We had a really great evening - superb staff, scrummy food and great views. I do want to go back again."
