A word from Paramount
Paramount restaurant is perched on top of London’s iconic Centre Point tower - the grade II listed high rise building at the junction of Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street.

Before we start on the food, let's state the obvious – yes, the view is fabulous. Diners can admire a 360 degree view out across London and, in the champagne bar on the very top floor, enjoy the viewing gallery with floor to ceiling windows.

The restaurant specialises in sophisticated modern European cuisine and, although the members-only restriction was lifted in 2010, still has a dress code and a high society feel.

The food is a mix of classic British flavours and more adventurous twists; foie gras and duck terrine with apple and fig pastilla rubs shoulders with rib eye steak served with goose fat chips.

Opinion is divided over whether the better view is to be had during the day or the evening - perhaps the best bet is to dine at sunset for the best of both.

I booked a table at Paramount for my sons 21st birthday celebration. I requested a table by the window in order to take advantage of the amazing views and this was acknowledged. The service and attention to detail was excellent from the outset. The food was delicious if a little expensive but for a special treat it was acceptable. A wonderful xperience from start to finish thank you

We came for a meal with friends. Slightly disappointed we couldn't get a window table. We ordered pre-dinner drinks and received 3 of them. The 4th drink arrived about 15 mins later. Service was a bit slow and they seemed to have completely forgotten about us at one point. Food was ok, but atmosphere and views were excellent.

This was my second trip to paramount and if anything I was even more impressed this time. The service was outstanding, as was the food. The views are stunning even on a rainy and overcast day as it was on Saturday. It isn't cheap but considering how good the food is and how special the location is I think it's reasonable. As close to a new York style roof top bar/restaurant as I've found in London so far. If you're going there don't forget to go upstairs to the viewing platform/ ring for a cocktail!

Ok, so you have to battle through what is probably the worst entrance to any hotel in London. It's a building site with dirty, cracked stairs and pretty much hand written signs pointing to the dark and unwelcoming entrance to the building. Once you get up things improve significantly - the view at night is simply spectacular and as a backdrop to dinner it's hard to beat. I'd been warned the decor was a bit 70s but i didn't find it so. The menu was reasonably adventurous; scallops and pork belly starter was competent although flavours a little muted. had the tri of steak which included some bone marrow. Again, good but but outstanding and lacked any zing. For a business meal it was great; for a foodie night out there are better.

Went on a sat lunch and had a great time from the warm welcome to the amazing views, outstanding service and superb food. We had the trio of feel and the venison and both were excellent. Only came to just over £100 including two drinks each too which I found good Vale all things considered.

The service was amazing, not stuffy but personalised. Our waiter was happy to chat with us and made us feel comfortable. I had asked for a table with no other diners to the left of us as one of us is disabled (hearing issue) but this did not happen unfortunately. The food was fantastic but slightly disappointing to only have 2 scallops for the starter. Despite this we would love to dine there again

It has so much going for it but just failed to deliver! The biggest let down is that the place needs a facelift. Tables and chairs look like they are from the 70's and they even have stains on the fabric to prove it! Sofas had rips and tears in the cloth. Kind of like gong to Mayfair and land up in an east end cafe. We booked with the set lunch menu- meant to be £23 for 2 courses but they don't give you that menu and you have to specifically ask for it. instead a la carte menu which is more like £60 per head. Imagine eating Michelin star food in a greasy cafe- it just loses it and does the food no credit. Overall a poor experience and I will not return as there is much better for the money such as AquaShard.

We had breakfast, which great simple food, tasted spot on with friendly staff, but was not much dearer than the average London cafe. The view was amazing and worth going just for that, but good sensible priced breakfast for decent size portions is a bonus. I had 2 x poached eggs on a big thick slice of toasted ciabatta type bread and lots of two types of mushrooms for about a £10 which for where you are is great value. The restaurant is on the second to top floor and the viewing gallery is on the top floor with a narrow bar that wrap all around top floor. don't let the concrete exterior put you off.

We were the only booking which created a poor environment. The tea was very weak. Mar had smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs on a bagel an although the salmon was nice the egg was very buttery with a lot of salt and the bagel was not warm. The views made the booking and although I might return for drinks I would not return to the restaurant. The staff were attentative and friendly, I think it just needs more bums on seats.

Usually the pay off for a great view is mediocre food so it was a pleasant surprise that here both were good. The fussy portions seem even a little out of date now (the fishy starter came with a foam) but the tastes and textures were beguilingly combined into a tasty assemblage. A dessert plate was thoughtfully decorated with a Happy Anniversary message and the place has a great buzz, especially when you consider the monstrosity in which it is housed, and the waiting staff are charming. And then of course there are the views...Cocktails pricey from £12 a pop but overall a special dining experience.

Before going I read some very negative reviews, especially about the service. Well they must have been to a different venue because the service, in particular, was second to none for our lunchtime visit. The imaginative, contemporary menu proved to be a gourmet experience. The décor feels like original 70's which was a surprise and perhaps could benefit from a re-think but that's just a personal thing. At least the chairs have arms and the views, of course, are outstanding.

With Paramount you're really paying for the view. Main courses can be as much as £25 - Michelin Star prices - but the quality of the food, the service and the atmosphere aren't 'Michelin'. The restaurant is very, very noisy and busy - the atmosphere of the bar area spills over and dominates. Some of the decor is a little worn - the fabric on the chairs was stained with old food. The service was pleasant, but not attentive in a way I would expect of an expensive restaurant - you pour your own drinks, the bottle of water arrived at room temperature and ice and lemon had to be requested.

I took my husband to the Paramunt for his birthday lunch. Whilst the view was spectacular the food wasn't. Very nice wine, service was good and the bread delicious. But the main courses were not to be recommended. Too fancy and not enough substance. We shall be returning one evening in the winter just for drinks and to admire the view after dark.

A mid week lunch for us. The approach to the restaurant does not inspire you, a building site. Once you are in the lift, heading for the 32nd floor, things start to improve. The decor in the room is dated, in keeping with the 1970's, but it is clean and well maintained. After a while you forget about the setting and just take in the view. It is spectacular. The service is prompt and courteous. The wine list is extensive, some very reasonably priced wines by the glass and bottle. The food is a modern take on British. We managed three courses, not much room left by the end of the meal !!. The mains were one steak the other pork, each had three different cuts, well presented plates of food with sauces that lifted the food.
