A word from Paramount
Paramount restaurant is perched on top of London’s iconic Centre Point tower - the grade II listed high rise building at the junction of Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street.

Before we start on the food, let's state the obvious – yes, the view is fabulous. Diners can admire a 360 degree view out across London and, in the champagne bar on the very top floor, enjoy the viewing gallery with floor to ceiling windows.

The restaurant specialises in sophisticated modern European cuisine and, although the members-only restriction was lifted in 2010, still has a dress code and a high society feel.

The food is a mix of classic British flavours and more adventurous twists; foie gras and duck terrine with apple and fig pastilla rubs shoulders with rib eye steak served with goose fat chips.

Opinion is divided over whether the better view is to be had during the day or the evening - perhaps the best bet is to dine at sunset for the best of both.

We had breakfast, which great simple food, tasted spot on with friendly staff, but was not much dearer than the average London cafe. The view was amazing and worth going just for that, but good sensible priced breakfast for decent size portions is a bonus. I had 2 x poached eggs on a big thick slice of toasted ciabatta type bread and lots of two types of mushrooms for about a £10 which for where you are is great value. The restaurant is on the second to top floor and the viewing gallery is on the top floor with a narrow bar that wrap all around top floor. don't let the concrete exterior put you off.

In comparison with a visit 3 years ago, the dinner menu choices and food were disappointing, plus a very long wait for the food. I would now only recommend Paramount for the views, best to head straight for the viewing gallery rather than restaurant.

We were the only booking which created a poor environment. The tea was very weak. Mar had smoked Salmon and scrambled eggs on a bagel an although the salmon was nice the egg was very buttery with a lot of salt and the bagel was not warm. The views made the booking and although I might return for drinks I would not return to the restaurant. The staff were attentative and friendly, I think it just needs more bums on seats.

Usually the pay off for a great view is mediocre food so it was a pleasant surprise that here both were good. The fussy portions seem even a little out of date now (the fishy starter came with a foam) but the tastes and textures were beguilingly combined into a tasty assemblage. A dessert plate was thoughtfully decorated with a Happy Anniversary message and the place has a great buzz, especially when you consider the monstrosity in which it is housed, and the waiting staff are charming. And then of course there are the views...Cocktails pricey from £12 a pop but overall a special dining experience.

Before going I read some very negative reviews, especially about the service. Well they must have been to a different venue because the service, in particular, was second to none for our lunchtime visit. The imaginative, contemporary menu proved to be a gourmet experience. The décor feels like original 70's which was a surprise and perhaps could benefit from a re-think but that's just a personal thing. At least the chairs have arms and the views, of course, are outstanding.

The service and hospitality was exceptional, friendly, approachable, always smiling, presented very well, know the menu and what to recommend. The atmosphere made it extra special high up on the 32nd floor and the viewing gallery was beautiful. I will definately going back there with friends and family.

With Paramount you're really paying for the view. Main courses can be as much as £25 - Michelin Star prices - but the quality of the food, the service and the atmosphere aren't 'Michelin'. The restaurant is very, very noisy and busy - the atmosphere of the bar area spills over and dominates. Some of the decor is a little worn - the fabric on the chairs was stained with old food. The service was pleasant, but not attentive in a way I would expect of an expensive restaurant - you pour your own drinks, the bottle of water arrived at room temperature and ice and lemon had to be requested.

I took my husband to the Paramunt for his birthday lunch. Whilst the view was spectacular the food wasn't. Very nice wine, service was good and the bread delicious. But the main courses were not to be recommended. Too fancy and not enough substance. We shall be returning one evening in the winter just for drinks and to admire the view after dark.

A mid week lunch for us. The approach to the restaurant does not inspire you, a building site. Once you are in the lift, heading for the 32nd floor, things start to improve. The decor in the room is dated, in keeping with the 1970's, but it is clean and well maintained. After a while you forget about the setting and just take in the view. It is spectacular. The service is prompt and courteous. The wine list is extensive, some very reasonably priced wines by the glass and bottle. The food is a modern take on British. We managed three courses, not much room left by the end of the meal !!. The mains were one steak the other pork, each had three different cuts, well presented plates of food with sauces that lifted the food.

Amazing view from 32/F, however the food and services are just ok. Presentation of food is pretty good, but the quality/ quantity is so-so. Not wow enough enough. but overall is acceptable, fair value set menu. we had monkfish mousse and quail egg then Pan Seared Newlyn Cod, Chorizo, Razor Clam, Smoked Paprika Mash & Sea Herbs as main..... I would say the portion is not sufficient for man. Will suggest this place for the view, not so for the food. We never got asked if we would like to see the wine menu nor the cocktail list.

Had an excellent early bird meal at Pramount, the building is under renovation so not the best experience coming to the building but once in the resturant the views of London were great and the atmosphere was nice. The early bird menu had enough selection and was at a 3 course £30 price which was a good value alhtough once we added the wine it was quite an expensive bill!

My husband and I traveled to London to celebrate our 5 year anniversary - I'm very glad we made this our last stop for dinner while we were in town. We had a table next to the window so we were able to enjoy the wonderful view of downtown London and just relax. The food was great and very creative - if you're a foodie then this is a place to check out. After dinner we took our drinks to the upper floor where we were able to sit and take in more of the amazing views - from what we gathered, this was more of the area that stayed open later than the restaurant. The staff was also very friendly and helpful - when you arrive, be sure to check in at the lobby desk for assistance up to the restaurant.

Food was awful. Service was moderate. Staff was unorganized. There was a table where guests were contestant taking pictures of each other like paparazzi. Flashes here and there that torn night to daylight. Absolutely discussed and I personally think bar menu was a lot more reasonable and than this cheap that was served to us. Better give tickets for the view. Forget the restaurant case you just don't have it. Also the furniture is rubbish. My chair was squigling all night. For god shake you charge fortunes why can't you buy some proper furniture other than a taverna's second hand garage sale garbage? Even your bar furniture is better than your main restaurant. Rubbish rubbish rubbish. Total waste of money and time.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful meal here at the weekend. The service was impeccable, the food was gorgeous; beautifully presented and very tasty, and the atmosphere and view was glorious watching the sunset over London from 33 floors up! I would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a romantic meal celebration. We were celebrating our 1st anniversary and they even acknowledged this by decorating our dessert with a 'happy anniversary' note in chocolate, a lovely touch.

This was my 3rd time at the Paramount. Decided to take my visiting relatives from Australia for the food and view. We chose the early bird menu but didn't scrimp on the superb wine. Not a wide variety of good on this menu, but we all loved what we ordered. Service was outstanding as per usual and you were never rushed. Also enjoyed one for the road in the upstairs bar. Only downside, our table was next to the bar area, which was very noisy and having not seen my relatives for 9 years we wanted to chat and be heard.

A Faire!!!

My wife and I were in London to celebrate her birthday and this restaurant was just fantastic. The waiter recommended some excellent choices from the menu and really looked after us all evening, even down to the "Happy Birthday" dessert. If you can get the south side view, it is more iconic London, but the view is great all the way round and you can always enjoy the after dinner drink in the bar on the floor above, where you can walk around and get the full effect. Thanks very much Paramount for a fantastic evening.

Not much to say really, but that's because I am a big fan, return regularly, and say much the same each time. In short, in a place where the view is the main attraction, food and service are both excellent, and I still don't think it's very expensive. Well done Paramount, a great offer, and consistent. The set menu, always worth a look, was a knockout on this spur-of-the-moment-lunch occasion, and kept the lid on costs even more, despite choosing the two most expensive glasses of wine on the (reasonable) by-the-glass list. As always with Paramount, it's tempting to go back with friends or family to hit the - again not greedily priced - wine list by the bottle. Oh, one fresh comment: the new Green Hour martini is also a knockout!

I wish it weren't, as myself and foodie friends would visit several times a year, despite less than advantageous location near Tottenham Court Road tube. £138 for 2, 3 courses a la carte dinner, only 2 glasses house champagne and 1 glass sauvignon blanc. If bill had been £25 less, I'd be there frequently. Fabulous skyline views and creative, delicious food. Service very good, just needed a small injection of good humour to make it excellent. Linen on the tables would also lift it even higher. Well worth going for special occasion.

The food was lovely and the service in the restaurant was very good. My issue is with the reception on the ground floor... I was taking my wife out for a surprise meal for her birthday and had arranged for two other people to be at the restaurant. They text me to confirm they had arrived and also they told the receptionist it was a surprise and DO NOT confirm the booking is a table for 4 people, let us go upstairs and them being there will be a surprise. So what does she say, yes I can see your table is for 4 people... the other two members of your party have been waiting upstairs... Less than 5 minutes ago she had been asked not to say this... She then remember it was supposed to be a surprise but by then it was too late.
