  • Greasy Pizzas

    Dined on 2/8/2014
The pizzas we ordered were very greasy as if cooked with far too much oil on. By the end we felt like we had eaten a very fatty meal which left an unpleasant aftertaste. My main reference point for comparison is Pizza Express, where the pizzas are much better - not greasy at all. The ambience at Piccolino was very good - more classy than Pizza Express - and the service excellent and very friendly.

Lovely food, but too many waiters checking up on how your food is. We had 4 different waiters in the first 4 bites of our food and it meant myself and my partner couldn't start a conversation Food was great and drinks are good too.If you visit you need to go to the roof bar which has a lovely view and atmosphere.

An overall pleasant experience. The Ilkley Piccolino was good but not as good or as special as the Collingham restaurant. The food was on a par with our local Prezzo (Tring), however service was excellent, our waiter (Irish chap) was extremely helpful and totally made the evenning for us. I went on a Friday night and the toilets were not in a great condition, seats not staying up and urine on the floor.

Food and service was outstanding. Would definitely go back again. It's a shame we were the only people in there (although it was very early lunchtime) as this made the atmosphere a little flat.

Some friends and I booked a table at Piccolino's, Ilkley, on the Roof Terrace. We had a corner table, which had sofas and so the seating position was a little low, although there were ample cushions to sit on. There we also blankets, which was good as even with the plastic sheeting/windows there was still a cold breeze. The food was good, without being exceptional, but the service was a bit haphazard. My starter arrived after everyone else's as it had to come from downstairs apparently, and was a bit chilly when it arrived. The side salad we ordered also didn't arrive until we'd nearly finished our mains. The waiter was very apologetic and didn't charge us for the salad so he handled the situation well. I'd go back, but in the summer.

Took my Auntie there for a birthday meal, i have been many of times to this restaurant but for my Auntie it was her first time. Her first impression of the restaurant was that the décor and ambience of the restaurant was lovely and it felt really special. We took my 4 month old baby with us and were offered a suitable table with plenty of room for the pushchair. Service was fantastic and food was lovely as usual. All i would say is that i think there could be more choice on the lunch time menu, they should offer more than 1 pizza to give people a choice but apart from that would definitely recommend and go again

Had asked for quiet cosy table as was our wedding anniversary, we were given a choice of tables, once comfortably seated we were brought a glass of prosecco each as a congratulatory drink, very very nice touch. It was a lovely meal waiters very knowledgable about menu. Would definitely recommend.

Piccolini on a very hot night - it was good to eat outdoors tho music was blasting too loudly. There was no pasta at all on the menu we were given and we expressed surprise to the waiter. Oh there's another menu he said for downstairs. Seems those eating on upstairs terrace are not usually offered the pasta menu which seems strange. But they obliged and food was Ok.

The roof top restaurant at Piccolino is a stroke of genius. On Summer evenings like we've had this week there is convenient free parking, the scenery of the Wharfe valley is beautiful and the restaurant has a great ambience. The food was delicious. The overhead heating is VERY effective and if you want to wrap up in a blanket as the evening progresses these are provided It's a unique experience for West Yorkshire. Just one criticism from my visit; hot meal, cold plate!

There was seven of us for an early evening meal on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was buzzing with a good feel and ambience. The service was attentive and efficient. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the quality of food very good. I had the lamb for my main course and it was very good. The menu is far reaching and caters well for vegetarians, which suited two of our party. I have been to the restaurant three times now and have never been disappointed. I would recommend it to anyone.

Good: I have never been dissapointed with the food at Picolinos so we were happy that it was excellent as usual. Staff look very smart and trendy. The roof terrace is stunning, very chilled out atmosphere. Love that they have now put extra heaters up there and now have the option of closing the roof if it rains. Bad: No one approached us as we entered the roof terrace, they just looked and carried on serving other diners. I would at least expect to be told that someone will be with us shortly or to get a drink at the bar, we stood there feeling rather foolish. Can attract some pretentious diners but does not put me off enough to not dine here. Overall it was a nice experience and looking forward to going again soon.

The good: the creamy, vanilla-ey cheesecake was very good; the main course portions were a reasonable size. The bad: you-know-what all over the men's toilet floor; toilet seat wouldn't stay up; rampaging kids upstairs; absolutely freezing on the ground floor; BEIGE OVERLOAD!!! (waiters' trousers, wall paint, light-coloured wood panelling and furnishing); the door stop that was wedged under our table to stop it from wobbling, but just got displaced every time I moved my feet; didn't bring the water we asked for; didn't bring our wine over from the bar even though we asked. So, as might be able to guess, I won't be returning.

My fiance and I were looking forward to a romantic meal but instead received very poor service. The reception staff seemed totally disorganised. Our table was not ready/laid. We had to return our meals due to a kitchen error with the ingredients. The whole evening seemed to be run by staff in chaos! We were offered a free bottle of presseco on our next visit which we will take them up on but won't be recommending the restaurant to any family or friends unfortunately. Overall not a good experience.

Amazing food (I can't stress that enough), great service and really good value. Unlike many restaurants, they don't cram as many tables in as possible which means every table feels private. For going out with the other half, it perfect. We'll definitely be going back tere.

We ventured out of Leeds on Saturday to visit Piccolinos. We arrived and as usual there was confusion over the toptable booking, they eventually found our booking and we were told the table wasnt ready so to head up to the rooftop bar. This is great and was full of atmosphere and would be lovely for a birthday party as its pretty noisy up there. We then got to our table after having to ask a few times and were seated. Its a really lovely restaurant with a nice ambience and the toilets are very well maintained. The food was just OK though. Pizza bread to start was good but our mains of tagliattele ragu were both presented cold and were not as good as the Leeds kitchen presents. Overall we enjoyed the night but wont be rushing back...

I love the food and atmosphere at this restaurant. Does attract some pretentious diners but it does not put me off enough to not love going. The service is good and the staff are always dressed smartly. Even though the restaurant is very busy the food always arrives quickly and to an excellent standard and we never feel rushed. The openair roof terrace is fabulous but the menu is limited up there and can be pretty chilly as I would say that they need some more heaters around where the tables are not just by the bar, but great for a glass of wine and a posh pizza or steak. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who would like a romantic meal for two or night out with girlfriends. I look forward to going again soon

The food was excellent but rather overpriced. The ambience being a rooftop area was fine in good weather, but they had plenty of dining area on two other floors. But we wouldn't go there again. I am paying nearly £60 for a meal with my wife. and seated at the next table, which was joined to ours, are two flippant girls buying a coffee & a beer, the later being repeated once. I informed the management of my feelings, having first reciprocated the same to these customers. The manager to dismiss my objections was bad business practice.

The restaurant was lovely and the atmosphere was very welcoming. However we were very disappointed with where we were sat, it felt as though we were eating with other parties that we had not arrived with and at times it was very uncomfortable. The food was fantastic, and the service we received was also great. I would definitely go back again, but I would ask for a table on the first floor dining area that is more private and secluded.

May be I shouldn't have booked such a busy night as Easter saturday but the service was slow and the meal was not up to standard. However, the atmosphere was quite good apart from sitting near the kitchens on table 2 which was very noisy and somewhat distracting. Piccolinos, Ilkley, is still very popular but they will have to make sure that there is sufficient staff to ensure high standards.
