A word from Prix Fixe Brasserie
Located on London's iconic Dean Street in Soho, Prix Fixe Brasserie is a restaurant loved by locals for its affordable French brasserie cuisine. This is the kind of restaurant people come to for low-key lunch meetings, first dates and to wine and dine in comfort before hitting the Soho bar scene or one of the many local West End theatres. Cosy and intimate, the dining room is decorated with blackboard menus, ruby red feature walls, wooden floors and vintage French posters, and both the prix-fixe and a la carte French menus are peppered with favourites such as the spatchcock baby chicken with French beans and parmentier potatoes; steak entrecôte with fries and Béarnaise sauce; and roast honey duck with peppercorn sauce, spinach and mache quenelle. The prices at Prix Fixe Brasserie are almost ridiculously reasonable for Soho, and the quality of the food and service surpasses expectations time and again. Continued

  • "My partner and I have dined here on two occasions; we had dinner here, once on a Friday and once on a Saturday. The food is fantastic and of a very high standard. The prix fixe menus are surprisingly good and delivers value for money. I was particularly impressed by the duck and cherry main, and the entrecôte steak frite. The starters are always refreshingly tasty. The menu changes on a regular basis and contains a range of enticing options, most of which I would be happy to order. The restaurant itself has a great ambience. The place is good for romantic nights out and also for a fun-filled evening with friends/family. Do book in advance as there are plenty of regulars who dine here. The restaurant is often packed on Fridays/weekends. "

  • "It was fantastic experience at Prix Fixe, the food is great, fantastic service, felt special I have been looked after! I have been 3 times in one month! It's says it all! Recommend to everyone! "

  • "Our second visit and lively as ever. Food perhaps not as good as previously but still OK Had a problem with one of our party requiring Gluten Free food. Staff delivered conflicting messages as to what was/was not appropriate leading to stress at our table. This could have easily been avoided with proper info, hence the markdown on service"

  • "Good service and no impact on food quality. Despite being a very busy Friday night, the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Food quality was good and I'll definitely be returning again."

  • "Very good service. Set menu had a lot of choices. Food arrived in good time and it was very good. It was quiet the night we were there and it is quite casual dining."

  • "Prix Fixe is ok when yo don't have any other options in Soho, and it's easy to book there. But the food is very average, I would only go there if I cannot find any other place with availability in Soho"

  • "Awesome food and excellent service, the place it is really nice however was without enough people to have a good ambience. Good to have a private conversation or a romantic night without to much noise."

  • "It was my first time in this restaurant. Loved set up of the place, staff young and friendly. Main reason were oysters and steak tartare+price. Unfortunately only 3 oysters left that evening, but waiter politely explained that oysters are delivered every day except Sundays. Overall I liked the place, the atmosphere, rest of the food, and will come back for oysters any day, but Sunday."

  • "We went before a late cinema screening and this was just right. Good table d'hote with optional extras, efficiently served. Good value and just what we needed."

  • "Went before a show at the Soho, I did find it very cramped with tables packed so tightly that I had to ask other dinners to move their chair so I could get to the loo. I also had the duck and I enjoy my meat pink but this was served so rare it was close to not being cooked at all, if I was not on a tight time schedule I would have sent it back, I have been going to their sister restaurant for years and that is a much better experience."

  • "We were off to the theatre, but in spite of booking a table at 6pm, we were still waiting for our starters at 6.30, and only just made it to the theatre in time. Will go again, but not when we're on a tight schedule."

  • "As always this restaurant exceeded my expectations. This is quite potentially my favorite restaurant in London, which is why I always come back! The food is always exceptional, and the low prices are makes the experience even better. The service here is also helpful, nice and knowledgable. When asked to recommend a restaurant in London, this is always the first place that comes to mind."

  • "Early dinner after a matinee and the place was already full - a good sign. We both ate from the prix fixe menu although going a la carte would not have been much more. Interesting selection of dishes which were served quickly (but never felt rushed). Quality of ingredients and cooking were both high. Typical French brasserie stuff and well worth a visit."

  • "So, after being a fan Pierre Victoire I decided to visit Prix Fixe. From entering outside, were people were hanging round the entrance clustered and smoking, and having to push past to get in, I a sensed a bad experience ahead, and I wasn't wrong. The waiter treated us with something approaching contempt, particularly after we both requested the steak frites, only to be told it was off the menu. Then a drunk woman on the table next to us tried to steal my knife and fork, and then a drunk man on another table started singing (badly), stopped then started again, stopped, then started up again. All this added up to a fractured conversation and a ruined date. I would never go here again"

  • "The pace does have buzz and you could have been in Paris. However the Ribeye we both had was of very average quality. The chips were good though."

  • "I celebrated my 5th anniversary there last Sunday. We had lunch/dinner, since it was at 5.00 pm! There were very few people dining that time, so it was warm and quiet, perfect for the occasion! I had the Roast Honey Duck Breast and my partner the Roast Chicken supreme and both were excellent! I highly recommend it to anyone who is around Soho square. Thank you for the lovely evening!"

  • "I have been to Prix Fixe 4 or 5 times. I have dined from both the a la carte menu and the early dinner set menu; the set menu is outstanding value. The food is always well prepared and well presented, and the menu is interesting enough that I'll probably never tire of it! The restaurant has a low-key bistro feel which I really like, although I do think that since the refurb they might have squeezed a couple of extra tables in so tables can be a little close together. For me, the most notable thing about Prix Fixe is the service. The staff are all wonderful. They are friendly yet professional, knowledgeable about the wine list and menu, and always deal with my nut allergy without making a fuss. I will go back to this place again and again."

  • "The food was incredibly well cooked. Being Soho on a Friday night the restaurant was tightly full to bursting. Service was attentive just not majorly friendly. But would recommend as post theatre meal."

  • "Went here for dinner with a group of friends. The menu is extensive, and full of typical French brasserie classics. Both a la carte and the prix fixe menu are reasonably priced. Food itself was of high quality, as was the wine. Attentive service. I will return"

  • "i have been here a few times now and it is always consistently good. If you want a quiet meal, this is not for you - this restaurant is always busy and therefore bustling at peak times. I met friends for a reunion so it was perfect for us and suited all pockets as price-wise very reasonable. Staff always friendly and helpful. Menu offers things for all, food is good...service attentive....what more can you ask for?!"

  • "Good food in a friendly setting. Staff were excellent. Paid extra for the Ribeye which was really good. The desserts were overpriced at £5.50 - I had a small creme brulee."

  • "Only found this restaurant through internet searches while looking for a restaurant near Ronnie Scott's, and for once relied on reviews rather than word of mouth from people. So glad we trusted the reviews. The menu is varied and different with some unusual combinations that work really well. We had a variety of meals between the 6 of us and everyone was completely satisfied with their choices. the food is of a good quality and good size portions too. The Tuna Steaks were large and tender, the Pork Belly was cooked to perfection with meat that melted in the mouth and perfect crackling. Added to that a comprehensive wine list at very reasonable prices for central Lonon, friendly and helpful staff, it made for a perfect dining experience."

  • "Me and my partner had pepper squid for starters which was tasty, then I had the Sea Bass, whilst my partner had the Tuna (medium/rare) we were both really impressed with our meals, my partner said the Tuna just melted in his mouth and I could see his knife easliy gliding through each slice, my Sea Bass was succulent, I eat a lot of fish in restaurants and I would rate this as one of the top restaurants that can cook fish perfectly. We also had desert, again I could not fault it, just delicious! A lovely ambience and the waiters / waitresses were very pleasant. All in all a perfect start to our evening and very reasonably priced."

  • "Visted Prix Fixe Brasserie on Saturday 1st March 2014 @ 8:30pm. Friendly welcome from the staff - table for 4 ready upon arrival. Great food: Starters: Black Pudding Scotch Egg, Scallops, Deep Fried Brie - all perfect Mains: Smithfield Rib-eyes, Seabass - delicious (must mention the steaks were just brilliant) Great wine; Pierre Paillard Brut (Grower Champagne) - delightful (a 100% 'hit' with all four of us) Goyecechea Malbec - perfect 'steak' wine Overall, a lovely 'brasserie' to the place feel with bundles of great atmosphere. We'll be back..."

  • "We booked an early evening meal after reading reviews and our experience exceeded expectations. A relaxed atmosphere with jazz background music. Interesting and imaginative menu with good meat, fish and vegetarian choices. Attentive and friendly service. Well-presented and tasty food. We thought the early evening menu was excellent value. As an overall experience we couldn't fault it!"

  • "The team were pleasant enough and the restaurant felt like a nice place to be. I ordered the fillet steak, as did my companion. Whilst his fillet arrived without issue and he enjoyed it, mine arrived already cut in half as though it had already 'been out'. The waiter was as confused by this as I was and took the plate away. He shortly returned, apologised and said a replacement would take a further 45 mins (despite the restaurant only being half full). I explained this was not acceptable and the first plate was returned with the same steak but the veg' was now dry. Uncomfortable with eating the steak and left with dry veg', I didn't eat. It was not mentioned again by the waiter and I left hungry. Very disappointing!"

  • "I'm very value oriented and this place can't be beat! On occasion, one course is of the caliber of a Michelin-stared restaurant. This restaurant is definitely worth seeking out, especially if you are anywhere near Soho."

  • "3 of us dined here pre-theatre on a Saturday. It's a cosy place and we were seated right at the back corner which was actually very pleasant - it meant there was no-one walking past our table and we were near the staff at the bar for attracting attention when required. Starters were scallops and beetroot carpaccio, crab and salmon pancakes and deep-friend brie. Mains were two fillet stakes and Toulouse sausages. Overall the food was very good, although the fillet steak could have been a better quality (it was a little stringy). I ordered medium-rare and it was MR in places but then rare in others. It didn't put me off enough to send it back or complain. We had a bottle of the Rioja Reserva that was excellent. Good service too. Will return"

  • "Food was fair at best. I had muscles and they tasted strange so I didn't eat them but wasn't asked why. Also asked for a glass with ice and lemon twice - never got it. My friend had the goat cheese burger and said it was alright and ate half. He usually eats for England. I felt bad as I chose this place after reading reviews on Tripadvisor. What a mistake that was. Wouldn't return."

  • "Discovered this bistro about 2 years ago and always eat here when visiting the West End. Set menu is extensive but a la carte also good. Great value for money and food is really delicious. I had mussels in pernod and garlic then lamb and prune casserole - both excellent."

  • "we keep going back - it has a real good vibe - simple rustic decor, very relaxed, always a good menu, plenty of choice, well presented and very tasty and good value food. Staff are very friendly and offer very good service. We have been for lunch and dinner on several occasions - sometimes just 2 of us and other times a big table and our experience has always been excellent."

  • "Been here several times now, and each time we have not been disappointed ... Tasty food, excellent presentation; wonderful ambience and staff are warm and happy! Slightly surprised that a lot of the mains / specials now have a £6 supplement which means two courses are £20 rather than the majority of the set menus being £13.90, but to be honest it's still great and we will still be going back!!"

  • "Prix Fixe is always a great choice for dinner with friends - great food, good value and always a lively atmosphere. The only downside is as a small venue it fills up quickly so you'll need to book early!"

  • "Prix Fixe (like sister restaurant up the road, Pierre Victoire) has a simple premise: consistently excellent food in a buzzy French bistro ambience. I've been here at least thirty times and never been disappointed. Generous wine list too. Reliable, cheap as chips and always a pleasure."
