Diner Reviews
  • "The food and service are always fantastic, its a lovely place to eat. My wife had a really tough week and they gave us a some free champagne which always helps her unwind..!"

  • "We hadn't been to Quo Vadis for a while and wondered why we don't go more often. Excellent food with a menu changing on a regular basis, great service, very friendly, good cocktails and also well priced, and a good ambience and decor. We will definitely be going back and as my friend dines out a lot for business he will be coming back regularly."

  • "Quo Vadis never disappoints, I have eaten here a number of times now and am always impressed by the food, value and service. This visit was no exception; six of us ate (and drank!) abundantly for about £60/head but you could pay far less. The theatre set menu at £20 for 3 courses and excellent house wine at £22/bottle are west end bargains! The smoked eel sandwich is a must-order dish. Service polished yet informal. Ambience lively. Highly recommended!"

  • "What a treat this place is! Superb food with a mainly British focus on their regularly changing menu. The wine was great and cocktails upstairs in the private lounge were delicious and unique! The staff were great downstairs, very attentive and good humoured. A perfect place to catch up with good friends and good food!"

  • "Quo Vadis is a proper restaurant serving proper food, no themes no pretence just honest well cooked food that delivers on every level. Enough said!"

  • "We arrived late and for our table due too horrendous traffic but were greeted with smiles and prompt service. The menu is short and the format takes a bit of concentration. The crab mayonnaise starter was all white meat and therefore lacking a bit in flavour whereas the crab soup was an intense brown broth with delicious rouille and oily, crunchy toast. Roast lamb with anchovy and beans was juicy, pink and perfect, the mackerel was fresh and simply presented with pickled gooseberries, a modern twist on a traditional pairing. Sides of jersey royals were generous. Although we had no room for desserts we were treated to chocolate prunes with our coffee. The food is moderately priced for Soho but wine is expensive. The service was excellent."

  • "I had been to Quo Vadis a few years ago and had loved the food; this time was a bit of a disappointment however. On the positive side, we had excellent cocktails at the bar and our waiter was charming and efficient. The food was mixed: all of us had the crab soup but none of us liked it (too salty). The steamed sea trout was very good. The ice cream was nice but the chocolate gateau so-so. The wine list was extensive but the mark up was much too high: limited choice of bottles under £40. Considering all that, the final bill of £61 a head did not represent value for money. I woud probably still try you again, maybe for lunch, and see how it goes."

  • "Very good, yes, indeed it was - is this fifty characters now?"

  • "Keeps up a very high level of sensible market cooking - the menu changes twice a day...crab soup was especially fine, so too the squid and samphire, the peach trifle...and of course the room is smart and formal without being stuffy or too loud...even the rose was above par"

  • "Never tire of Quo Vadis...as good as ever! Food and service exemplary. Quo Vadis and Soho, a great combination!"

  • "Booked at early table at Quo Vadis for lunch with a stranger to talk new business. She was late but fun. We shared two superb salads - warm Longhorn beef and the Quo Vadis summer special. Both delicicous - the latter exceptional. No wine etc. but even so, the bill was very reasonable and the staff good fun and efficient. Perfect."

  • "Quo Vadis was just what I was looking for, good food, great atmosphere and not stuffy. The menu was small and mainly seasonal, but there's something for everyone. Food was delicious and the staff were excellent. Had a great time. Will definitely come back."

  • "The front of house team at Quo Vadis have got everything just right here; the ambience is welcoming, tables are not too close together, the service is attentive without being intrusive. The food on our visit was well judged, with subtle combinations of flavours (e.g roast sirloin of beef with pickled walnuts and horseradish cream) and expertly presented. The wine list contains many reasonably priced options, including half bottle carafes, as well as some serious (and seriously priced) bottles for those wishing to celebrate in style. I am looking forward to my next visit."

  • "Welcome air conditioning on a hot night, stylish generous displays of seasonal foliage and flowers, comfortable benches, plenty of space even though restaurant busy. Friendly welcome from intelligent staff, with interesting, fairly-priced wine list. Lovely fresh ingredients, carefully prepared, and original, though my chicken pie rather under-seasoned."

  • "The starter I had of artichoke, lemon and ricotta crostini was the most original and delicious thing that I have eaten all year. I've been wanting to try Quo Vadis for a long time and it did not disappoint."
    dined on 26/06/2014
  • "Short but interesting menu. Everything was well presented and executed and tasty. Buzzy atmosphere and helpful staff. The squid in my starter was perfectly cooked - no rubber bands in sight!"

  • "beautiful venue, impeccable service and some really gorgeous dishes, some lovely flavours and Dominic the manager really looked after us at the end giving us a little tour of the private members club and even suggesting where to go for a lovely cocktail afterwards. highly recommend and i'm definitely going back! do try the bacon, tomato and avocado - simply delish!"

  • "We arrived early as going to the theatre and were seated in the bar offered the drinks list but no one came to take our order Service was good although it was obvious it was the girls first night she was being trained on a busy Saturday night! The food was good although the menu is very small"
    dined on 07/06/2014
  • "We visited here on 6th june. We were sadly disappointed not what we were expecting. The food was pretty average. The flowers around the place looked like they needed changing the ones on our table the water was turning brown and they were begining to smell. The food was pretty average, . Would not return."

  • "Lovely place for a casual dinner. Service friendly but relaxed. Gorgeous menu. Food delicious. "

  • "Booked dinner for 3, the food and ambiance were very good, and service from Myles was excellent. He was knowledgeable, friendly without being too familiar and when there were a minor problem with one of the dishes, that he resolved with out hesitation, turning an issue into a positive. Great night, will be back."

  • "Lovely modern british cooking with plenty of seasonal input, great for a family lunch. As an added bonus my parents remarked we sat in the same spot that had been my grandfathers' favourite...about 50 years ago! Those who had the crostini weren't convinced, but to me the clue was in the name of the dish...Great Knoll Gruner Veltliner worked with all the starters and fish mains. "

  • "Very friendly service slightly off ,they got wrong wine to start with, food very good"
    dined on 24/05/2014
  • "Perfect for a damp summer evening catch up with friends, not too noisy to talk but buzzy, both food and wine didn't disappoint."

  • "Lovely atmos and friendly staff. Set lunch of 3 courses for £20 is unbelievable value. "

  • "Dinner was faultless as was the service. Very welcoming and would not hesitate to return"
    dined on 23/05/2014
  • "It's a shame that the food doesn't match the overall experience that this restaurant delivers. Ate here on a Thursday night and the place was well attended and the atmosphere was pleasant. I ate crab to start - it was ok, but the presentation was unadventurous and it was a little bland. The pork shoulder and polenta dish for main was poorly seasoned and whatever herbs were added made the polenta inedible (to me anyway, I'm sure some would say it was lovely). Everything was cooked well, the rest of my party seemed to mostly enjoy their food, I must have ordered badly. "
    dined on 22/05/2014
  • "A lovely evening. Great ambience and service and while the menu is quite short the food is really imaginative and interesting. Spring garlic starter beautiful, as was the bisque. We all had the lamb and it was delicious. Very reasonably priced wine although spirits and beer are expensive and added considerably to our bill. "
    dined on 20/05/2014
  • "Quo Vadis is becoming my 'local'...great for lunch or dinner."
    dined on 19/05/2014
  • "A belated birthday lunch in town . Just one look at the menu tells a tale , spring is here . Perfect day , perfect table , staff knowledgeable and smart , food perfect, not poncey. All round perfect food and service. "
    dined on 15/05/2014
  • "I'd been dying to eat here for ages, having already tried the bar once or twice. The dining room is beautiful- soft brown leather, elegant pale walls, stained glass windows and tonnes of flowers; rather like a contemporary country house hotel. Definitely has wow-factor but in a very classy and understated way. We dined from the absurdly cheap set menu- just 2 choices per course, but I fan confirm all were equally delicious. Light, summery but strongly-flavoured food. Service was very relaxed and friendly, you pour your own wine here (I did anyway); and it suits the informal atmosphere. Ive found a new place to add to my Top London Haunts."
    dined on 13/05/2014
  • "Apart from most of the staff being rather unfriendly they are also mostly incompetent.

We had to ask for our virtually everything twice(including sugar). We know being a waiter is not an easy job but alongside a very loud restaurant with average food (apart from the desserts which were excellent) the poor service was even more noticeable. When the young man at the front door failed to say goodnight back to us as we were leaving we were left feeling this was a reflection of the restaurant in general. "
    dined on 10/05/2014
  • "Poor service and communication between wait staff. Didn't bring our wine till after our starters were finished and only when I asked where it was a second time. Food is good, if expensive, but really it's the service that lets this place down. "
    dined on 08/05/2014
  • "Back there again and again I expect. With so many favourite restaurants in and around this area of Soho we've somehow neglected Quo Vadis even though the couple of times we've drank at its bar have been a delight; so Saturday's dinner proper was long overdue. Damn it was good - we've been missing out. The menu was short, seasonal and delicious sounding, and the crab starter, brill, mutton & strawberry shortcake dishes we chose didn't disappoint in the slightest and were polished off with gusto. No tricks or gimmicks, just first class ingredients cooked with care and allowed to shine. Service from start to finish was impeccable - friendly but not matey, attentive but not overbearing. In short a very convivial evening. We'll be back."
    dined on 03/05/2014
  • "Quo Vadis produces great food using wonderful ingredients and doe it without pretension or over complication. Sounds easy but it's not. the relaxed and friendly service complements the food to create a very high quality, unpretentious and fun place to eat."
    dined on 28/04/2014
  • "Anniversary dinner, had the terrines which were perfectly balanced with delicious pickles, my partner had crab soup, which was powerfully flavorsome (possibly a bit too salty for my taste though). Followed up by Seabass with a delicious herb sauce and pork loin which were both really good. We shared an orange chocolate tart for pud, really subtle orange flavour which was great. Service was relaxed and informal, but friendly and attentive, by far my preference. Came to a little over £60 a head including a good bottle of Prosecco, so I'd say great value."
    dined on 25/04/2014
  • "this really is a top notch operation now. oh and also the best chips in London!"
