A word from Refuel
Set inside London's prestigious Soho Hotel, Refuel Bar and Restaurant enjoys an enviable location in the heart of the West End, just moments away from some of London's most popular theatres and nightclubs.
The ground floor restaurant is decorated in warm neutral tones and features brown leather and suede seating with a long pewter bar and a specially-commissioned mural by London-born artist, Alexander Hollweg. After perusing the extensive wine list, you can enjoy modern European dishes like grilled chorizo with bean and basil salad; Dover sole with lemon and tartare sauce; and succulent Aberdeenshire steaks. Refuel also boasts one of Soho's best dessert menus with tasty treats like mango tarte tatin, banoffee ice cream, and hot chocolate fondant on offer. In fact, Refuel is far too prosaic a term for the great experience of dining at this restaurant. Relax, recharge, restore yourself at Refuel.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "This really is a hidden jem in the heart of Soho. The Toptable deal is outstanding value. Great service."

  • "What amazing restaurant! I had a set menu with the cured salmon as starter wich was just delicious , then lamb as main wich was well cooked and so tasty. Then a a pineapple carpocio which was yummy! Yeah it was a great value and I do recommend it!"

  • "Decent breakfast for business. A little over priced in my opinion"

  • "Really good service, warm welcome and accommodating staff from the welcome to departure. Food is delicious and there is a good choice. Although we booked for the three course offer, which provided fair choice, we opted for the a la carte menu and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. It is certainly not cheap, but the atmosphere in the restaurant, which border the cocktail bar, its decor and the truly outstanding service throughout made it a memorable evening."

  • "Only thing that let the evening down was we asked to sit on a quiet table. We found one and then in a virtually empty restaurant had people put on the table next to us which just seemed completely ridicuoous to do. Food was good (pork was a little rare in the middle), Great value deal though."

  • "love the restaurant, love the food and love the friendly staff. Always a nice buzz to the place.. would def recommend the restaurant!"

  • "Ask for tap water! 2 bottles of water for the table came to £11.50."

  • "Staff very friendly and gave great service. The food was excellent. We had duck salad to start, followed by grilled sea bass - both cooked to perfection."

  • "I've dined at Refuel on a number of occasions. We were shown to our table by the Maitresse d', who promptly presented menus and offered water for the table. After more than 15 minutes elapsed without having been approached by anyone from the wait staff or offered any other beverages, we waived to Maitresse d' and remarked that whilst we had been many times before and had brilliant service we were wondering what's wrong tonight. From that point the service was as we had previously experienced it and to their credit at the end of the meal we were offered a complimentary cheese plate to share for our inconvenience. The meal itself was sadly a bit uninspired...the starter bland and the main course ordinary. I hope this was just an "off" night."

  • "We went in for the set lunch menu which was fantastic value and were delighted with the effortless, charming service and high quality food. Have been to the Soho Hotel for drinks a number of times but now will be returning for Refuel!"

  • "The hotel is really lovely, tucked away down a side street in Soho. The food was good and the service was friendly, given how busy they were. The restaurant is stylish and attractive but the drawback with being there on a busy Friday night was the noise which made it difficult to hold a conversation. Overall I would be happy to go back, but perhaps at a quieter time."

  • "The Soho Hotel is tucked away in a cul de sac and the Restaurant combines meeting bar and restaurant with little difference. Off putting are the headlights of cars shining through the long window . the food was brunch like without being gastronomic but we fund an interesting bread crumbed duck terrine with figs and fruit sauce and a lobster burger with chips. The Pimms jelly with elderflower sorbet was refreshing. Fair to good if you are dining casually. the service was excellent throughout, dealing with a fizzy Pinot Noir by replacing it and friendly chatty waitresses who cared!"

  • "This was the second time I have visited and taken advantage of the pre-theatre offer. The service I must say here is some of the best I have experienced in London. Friendly, attentive, thoughtful, knowledgeable and swift. This helps being within a nice hotel but still a lot of places could learn from Refuel. The place was buzzing as always, mainly the bar area which seems to be very popular for post work drinks. The set meal changes frequently and I always like to see open kitchens, it normally means they are confident of the standard of food they serve and it rarely disappoints. Everything was perfectly cooked, portion size - spot on for a pre-theatre and no need for extra side orders like other places. I will definitely return, just go!"

  • "Refuel @ the Soho Hotel is a welcome oasis in the heart of Soho. Impeccably presented and tasty food coupled with great, attentive service and the set menu offer all combined to make a lovely experience here for dinner."

  • "I love The Soho Hotel, whether it's for meeting friends for a bottle of wine and catch up, or a cheeky cocktai. I only recently discovered the Refuel restaurant though, when a friend booked their set menu deal through opentable. It was fantastic - amazing grub, great service and all the ambience of the bar seeping through. A real buzz. I decided to give it another go for abelated birthday meal with a friend. It didn't disappoint. The service was spectacular, super friendly and not opppressive, and the food was delicious. BOOK NOW!"

  • "We dined here as a group. The restaurant was calm but a fun buzz in the adjacent bar. Food very good and service impeccable."

  • "Have dined at Refuel a few times now with different parties at different times of day and it never ceases to be consistently good on all fronts. Had a lovely dinner on Saturday evening with some girlfriends on the excellent value Open Table set menu - good food choices available to suit all and a glass of fizz to get the evening off to a good start! The food is always delicious and plenty of it, and the service is friendly and efficient without being overbearing. Thoughtful staff. Will be coming back soon!"

  • "Had dinner in the restaurant. Unfortunately spill over from the bar, so quite a few loud drunk people, difficult to hold a conversation. But the food and service were excellent, as usual."

  • "Great energy about the place, but not a single thing of our order went right:-("
    dined on 15/05/2014
  • "Was very impressed with this place, had the wow factor despite the outstanding value. The service was very attentive and the food was flavoursome. The only downside was probably the rigidity of the wine list, but that's a minor gripe. Highly recommended."

  • "booked the proscecco and two course deal (or so I thought). Initial impressions good - interesting decor, lively vibe; friend arrived early and ordered champagne; Orders placed, salad had rotten leaves and we were told chef used out of date items, replacement doused with salad dressing but no overtly rotten leaves. When dessert menus offered we asked about deal and a manager was called who asked 'what's the problem' we stated we 'did not have a problem but we were seeking clarification' on deal booking; then offered cheese board selection as compensation by another manager; I suggested they remove cost of the champagne or alternative which was declined. Some staff very pleasant and helpful, others could improve communication skills. "

  • "Had an early Monday night booking (5pm) for 4 prior to the theatre. The food was fine but not exceptional. We ordered a prawn cocktail, fish and chips, and wine and all were good. I think the quick service was good, especially for needing to leave in time for theatre seating. The staff was very friendly and efficient, even running after us to give us back a forgotten item! "

  • "This was my second visit in a week and didn't dissapoint . Food was lovely and staff very friendly . We had a vegetarian in our company and the options were lovely . Can't wait to return !"
    dined on 26/04/2014
  • "A superb evening My chicken was outstanding A good selection of English wines, which our overseas guests were impressed with However puddings were a bit disappointing - The only had cake options . They really could have done with something more interesting to finish the meal "
    dined on 19/04/2014
  • "We were really impressed by the trendy bar, well-presented staff and buzzing ambience. The warm squid, chorizo and baby watercress salad was a tasty, light starter and I was fortunate to have excellent gluten free bread on the side, freshly baked. Our mains of chicken with pesto and butterbeans / baked salmon with peppers and capers were very nicely done and just the right size. Our desserts were poached pear frangipane (good I'm told!) and, though the chef thoughtfully offered two gf alternatives of chocolate brownie or creme brulee, neither of which were on the menu, I instead opted for a mix of two ice creams. I requested a surprise - adventurous flavours - and was generously given four!!! All in all, good value and lovely bellini!"
    dined on 19/04/2014
  • "Good venue, easy to find prices good providing you stick to the top table offer, service very good."
    dined on 15/04/2014
  • "The Toptable offer was very good value. The food is good and the staff polite, helpful and friendly. Only slightly disconcerting thing is that we got severed by a series of about five different people. They all seemed to communicate well with each other and know what they were doing, though. I like the ambience, obviously playing on the fact that the hotel was, until recently, an NCP garage, with a large variety of cans of old automotive lubricants."
    dined on 12/04/2014
  • "We went here for lunch because there was a set menu on and it looked nice from the menu and reviews. We were shocked by the prices. We ended up not ordering from the set menu as it didn't look very appetising. The crab we ordered was nice but £11 for a small glass of wine and £5.75 for water is ridiculous. Not worth it at all."
    dined on 12/04/2014
  • "Hi hadn't been here for a few years & was impressed on my return. The service was helpful, friendly & efficient. Food was great & we chose off the set menu which was really good value. I would recommend this restaurant"

  • "Great food and excellent service in pleasant surroundings at an affordable price made this a perfect spot for a leisurely mid-week lunch."
    dined on 09/04/2014
  • "We enjoyed a leisurely Sunday lunch here. It is in a good spot in Soho and is a stylish hotel. The set menu had a good choice and the food was good. We were not rushed and the staff were efficient and friendly. I would definitely recommend it!"
    dined on 06/04/2014
  • "I booked with Refuel because they had a very reasonable set lunch menu and the location was convenient. Unfortunately the top table menu didn't appeal to us so we went a la carte. There is a great choice on the a la carte, but cost a lot more than the set menu. Anyway, the food didn't disappoint, I chose the belly pork and it was delicious. The service is good and the servers very polite. It's not a busy restaurant, we went on a Saturday afternoon, and we didn't feel rushed and in fact stayed for 3 hours just catching up. The restaurant also offers afternoon tea which looked great and very popular with the guests."
    dined on 05/04/2014
  • "Refuel always feels like it's still a bit of a secret as the food is excellent, it is always busy with a nice buzz about the place and yet you can always get a table. bring a jumper though if you get a window seat - the air con is freezing!"
    dined on 01/04/2014
  • "Booked the three course + Bellini for 23£..good starter and main but the afters was yuk.a piece of stale ol cake with some choc chips added..lovely quirky bar area."
    dined on 31/03/2014
  • "Very nice good as always. Set menu is outstanding value and delicious."
    dined on 26/03/2014
  • "Refuel is a Soho gem waiting to take the lead in a very competitive market. The a London restaurant scene offers such a wide variety of dining experiences to suit all budgets, but I feel Refuel whilst rich in I varied decor has a little way to go in competing with the best in terms of value for money and service. Both the a la carte and srt menus were suitably priced with excellent selections but while the quality of food measured up the service did not quite hit the mark. Such a great shame when you are welcomed by such a vibrant atmosphere, exclellent bar service."
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "The Soho Hotel is a real treat. It's buzzy and fun, with a trendy or dressed-upcrowd and a really happening vibe; not a quiet romantic place for dinner - the bar is right next to the dining area. The food and service were both terrific, even though it was a busy night. A choice of three nouveau cusine starters, mains and puddings, plus a Bellini (with passionfruit - a bit tart for some). Everything exemplary."
