A word from Buenos Aires Restaurant - Purley
Buenos Aires in Purley is the Hollywood Superbowl of Argentinean restaurants in south London. We love the restaurant's smiley service and killer wine list that's made for a fun night out. Buenos Aires is perfect for parties, and the first Wednesday of every month is tango night. Star dishes at Buenos Aires restaurant include classics such as the patatas bravas; chargrilled Argentine fillet steak served with blue cheese cream sauce and mash; and pancakes served with dulce de leche sauce and ice cream for dessert. Diner Reviews
  • "A pleasant friendly and enjoyable meal. Steaks were melt in the mouth -definitely a place I'll go back too "

  • "Great place. Little crowded. Good atmosphere . Sat towards back so no view on main road or bus stop!! Service with a smile and manners. Very attentive. Steak 100% best we've had, so far. Meal delicious. Expensive. Almost double what we'd usually pay for a meal out! Service was automatically added, which I think is naughty, as we would have tipped anyway. Would love to go back again for a special occasion."

  • "The food here is a little pricey but absolutely amazingly delicious. Worth choosing the fillet steak... Incredible!! Be aware though that your meat may come slightly less cooked than you expected. Ie don't expect to be able to get a 'well-done' steak here! As it happens I love my steak rare so loved this about it- hands down the best steak I've ever tasted!"

  • "Booked a table for 12 for my fathers 70th birthday. The staff were great our waiter was very friendly. The food was nice we mainly had steak. My husband had the rump steak and was not overly impressed with the cut as it was quite thick which ment it was not cooked correctly so he had to send it back. He also questioned as to whether he was given the correct food ad he said it did not taste like a rump cut ( 1 out of 12 can't be all bad). We have eaten in Gaucho and Hawksmoor and unfortunatley Buonas Aires is not of the same quality. The food was nice but it was not memorable but at around £40 a head you can't really complain! Would I recommend this restaurant? Yes it's worth a vist!"

  • "Its a good steak restaurant. I guess the only thing they could do to up the game is to let you see the steak before it is actually cooked. Maybe a bit like Hawksmore do with the price per weight or something. But, that is being real picky and not something to mark the place down on."

  • "Buenos Aires restaurant is simply sublime. I've eaten in Gaucho and my partner in Hawksmoor and BA is on par if not better. The menu is incredible, service always so friendly and the wine stunning. It's within walking distance of Purley station itself only a 20 minute ride from London Victoria or Bridge. I've been visiting since they opened many years ago and the Lomo has always been melt in the mouth. With wine and two courses it's approx £35 a head but they offer many deals mid week and the set menu occasionally at weekends. There is really no faulting BA, it's a steak lovers must."

  • "Great steak, fab wine let down slightly by frozen chips and patchy service. I'd still go back again."

  • "As expected very good steaks - cooked very well and tasted delicious. A bit on the pricey side. I always prefer restaurants who do not include the service charge but leave it optional. Overall a good restaurant with good food and service, but not cheap !"

  • "The food was fantastic, one of the best steaks I have had.The waiters were great and made the evening special for our sons 16th Birthday, we even brought a long a cake which they brought out for us and had it as our desert."

  • "Service was excellent. There appeared to be a drainage/bathroom problem in the restuarant and we had to ask to be moved due to a bad smell. The food was nice but overpriced - much more expensive than equivalent dishes in central London."

  • "This restaurant is amazing.. The steak is to die for and it very much how it should be! No fancy decorations or tiny portions.. But real food and made in a traditional way! I loved it and I will be back.. So much better than Gaucho and the staff are so much nicer and friendlier! Great atmosphere and not expensive! I will be back!!"
