Second time, I've personally been to ROAST within the past two months, my wife took me there for my birthday in mid-August, which was a great experience, top drawer food & very professional service. Liked it so much, I booked up for a party of twelve friends; again another fantastic nigh & meal. They fell in love with the restaurant - every aspect, the service, professionalism, ambience, entertainment, food everything!!! When I initially saw the name ROAST, I thought of a carvery, but 100% very far from that kind of establishment. ROAST is classy, very personal & welcoming to all their customers....Both the A La Carte & Party menu is of the highest quality.

The food at this place was lovely. Being situated above Borough Market it was exactly what I expected, fresh, tasty and seasonal food. The wine we had was good too. Sadly I was so stuffed from my starter and main I did not have room to try an afters.

Went for early dinner with husband. I like the dining room with its high ceiling and windows. Our main courses were a bit of a let down ie roast pork belly with apple sauce and mash but swimming in gravy that overpowered everything. Fish and chips where the chips and tartar sauce was best feature because the fish still had so many bones. The trinity burnt cream with raspberries was a good dessert but couldnt make up for the mains. Meals were quite expensive for what they were too. Service was friendly and prompt though and i would come back for drinks at the bar if i was in the area.

We recently had dinner at this restaurant. It is located in Borough Market and the setting is very attractive. Although the menu is farly short every dish we had was very good. THe wine list was extensive and the wines fairly priced. Although the total bill was not cheap it was not excessive given the quality of the food.

Roast is located in a great setting overlooking Borough market. As this is a food market you can't get any fresher or local ingredients. The atmosphere was great with the live music, and although busy it did not have the cramped hemmed in feeling that many other London restaurants have on a Saturday night. I can recommend Roast without hesitation

Roat has it all. The location is unbeatable; overlooking the hustle and bustle of Borough Market, yet maintaining a relaxed atmospehere. The food is quite simply brilliant, a menu not too big nor too small, full of high quality ingredients (the black pudding is the best you can get!). We had a bottle of sparkling Rose from the Chapel Down winer/brewery, it was stunning. Service was impeccable and we are alrwady looking forward to going back again soon. Thanks!

Good food, I would even go so far as to say best pork belly I have ever had. Just feel at £23 for a main meal (pork, mash and apple sauce), not great value, especially for what felt like a "lunch size" portion. Everyone enjoyed the food, but £150 for 1-course, 1-bottle of wine and coffee, for 3-people, you would not call this place value. Good experiance.

Tucked away above Borough Market this restaurant provides excellent English style food, perfectly cooked and full of flavour. There was grouse, partridge and woodcock on the menu as well as wonderful slow roast belly pork - go there feeling hungry! Good wine list too. Not cheap though a good set menu for £30. Service very good as you would expect from this high class restaurant.

The restaurant is loud with chatter but very nicley paired with live music by the bar which resonates throughout the lofty dining room. A perfect place for Sunday lunch and not too badly priced for a special occasion. The food was good, nothing amazing, but good quality and good portions (which in my opinion counts for a lot on a lazy Sunday!). The drinks were also fantastic. I had several pistachio sours which were great (although a bit pricey!). Overall a great meal and restaurant.

Roast has a very nice and elegant environment, just a bit ruined by the too loud live music and the loud speaking crowd - it's not a quiet place for a romantic dinner. The food is quite good and prepared with attention to details. Rations are a bit small, but still better than other high rated places. Service is just fair, waiters has not such great care for their customers.

The food was very good but let down by rushed, chaotic service. Wrong starter brought to table, fine not received until halfway through the starter (bear in mind this is including the delay as the wrong starter was changed), wrong cutlery on the table and lastly a main fish dish which was bought to the table missing the actual fish! Apologies were profuse and a bottle of fizz given but this is a restaurant charging top dollar. I doubt I would go again.

This was my second meal at Roast and I recommended it to my friend for her partner's birthday lunch. There was a good menu selection. Food was tasty and the portions just about right. The service was not as good as I remembered. The table was not wiped between courses and as a result there were bits left on the surface. The main course plates were taken away from two diners while the others were still eating. I had alerted the staff that it was a guest's birthday but there was no recognition.

Met friends here for brunch on a Saturday. They went for the Scottish borough and I the veggie borough. Friend and I both found hair in our dish which was disappointing. I showed mine at the start and they took it back to the kitchen but my friend was half way through her meal when she found hers. Drink I'd ordered didn't come so I had to remind them and to be fair they didn't charge me for it. Overall food was nice, despite hair, and the venue itself was nice.

A group of old college friends stayed at Premier Inn County Hall and marched down early on Saturday morning to a fantastic breakfast at Roast. I have been many times and it is always a real treat. It certainly was the highlight of my weekend food wise and the others felt the same although I think one was slightly disappointed in the sparcity of her eggs Royal! Needs better presentation. We did the two for one deal and wish to repeat it on Friday. Can you help?

Roast is beautifully presented and modern. The staff were friendly, attentive, intelligent. The ambience on a Sunday lunchtime was bustling and vibrant. Food was ok but there were a few elementary mistakes. Our side of carrots were too hard to eat, practically raw. Plates weren't really warmed and so anything not served in a particular serving dish was a little cold. It is personal taste but the chips served with my main were extremely salty. We found the meat and fish to be well cooked though with particular highlights being a haggis scotch egg starter and the Trinity Burnt Cream dessert - actually all the desserts were a hit! :) Great to see children and babies so well catered for in a quality, grown up restaurant.
