A word from Roux at The Landau
The re-named Roux at The Landau sees father and son Albert and Michel Roux Jr working together for the first time in 18 years, bringing the Roux’s legendary culinary expertise and creativity to their second West End address.

Roux protégé Chris King has been chosen as Chef de Cuisine after a five year apprenticeship at Le Gavroche

Michel Roux Jr says of the new Chef: “Chris King is a rising star, and his menus reflect the Roux trademark style of classically-constructed French dishes, blended with today’s tastes for lighter choices.”

Some classic British dishes, which are customer favourites, will also feature on the menu.

The Landau is truly spectacular, every dish was superb, but the service was what really surprised me. Every waiter was so attentive and eager to please, and not at all condescending to a couple who were clearly not at home in such an extravagant restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

Perfect thanks for the recommendation one table. I will be using this place regularly . Du jour menu was beautiful and the restaurant service and quality of food was great I will tell others about it and will be coming back. The michel roux red wine was out of this world and the coffee and petit fours just topped off a perfect dinner .. X

My wife and I had our anniversary dinner pre-Theatre and had a fantastic time. The food was excellent but even better was the service. They made us feel so comfortable and even let us come back after the show to have our coffee and petit fours as we didn't have time to finish them before the show. All in all it was a fantastic night and this went a large part of the way to making it so good!

Came here to celebrate my birthday and before going to see a show. Everything was spectacular! And, as a vegetarian, was really happy to see a special vegetarian menu with several options that had creativity involved and not only pasta! We came with our older kids who were received very well and we also saw a toddler that was being thoroughly attended to by several smiling staff. Very lovely experience. Would highly recommend.

I booked the restaurant for my girlfriend’s 21st birthday. The service was very good apart from waiting to be seated at an unattended reception desk however this was the only negative all evening. The food was fantastic, we booked with an open table set menu offer however opted for the main menu. They even produced a ‘Happy Birthday’ plate with some little treats on after dessert which was a nice touch. As a special occasion restaurant I would highly recommend it.

I was in a group of four ladies. Food was excellent in quality, taste and presentation. Good size portions as well. The bread served was very tasty and hot at all times.... The fig rolls are a must try. Service was discreet yet attentive. Enjoyed every minute of the dining experience. I would go again without hesitation.

I booked here for my husbands birthday and it didn't disappoint. We had the chefs menu which was five set courses with a taster wine menu which was optional. Staff were very friendly and explained which wine we were having to go with each course. Food was wonderfully presented and tasted fantastic. I had notified the restaurant that it was my husbands birthday and they presented him with a little written 'happy Bithday' plate with some chocs on. Really enjoyed the experience and food. Price was just under £300 but for a special occasion this was a great night out.

A very lively and interesting room, we had the tasting menu with wine. It was very good too. But there was one unidentifiable able course that we did not find as nice as the others mentioned this to the waiter and he promptly brought us an additional course! The wine sommelier was excelent too. I mentioned to him that my favourite wine was a Rioja so brought addition glasses of the Rioja that is normally served with a different menu, for us to try. All the wines were excellent. Service here is outstanding nothing is to much trouble. Will definitely return.

Me and a couple of friends booked dinner last Friday night and we were not disappointed by the level of service and food quality. We were warmly greeted by the staff and were directed to a oval shape table by the entrance. Staff was very attentive yet not intrusive and made the whole experience very enjoyable for us. The 3 course menu for £39 was a true bargain and the canapé and chocolates served with the coffee were of high quality too. The ambiance was again very enjoyable as lively but so loud that one has to shout to express themselves.

We have eaten at the Roux at the Landau on a number of occasions and have always very much enjoyed everything about it. The room is lovely with high ceilings, lots of windows and plenty of space. The service is excellent with friendly staff who are exceptionally professional. Even though we had booked a special offer (via TopTable) and were having the set lunch (with a free glass of Champagne) we were given the amuse bouche, plenty of bread and petit fours at the end. Indeed, they had taken the trouble to write "happy anniversary" on the slate for the petit fours which I had mentioned when I booked. It shows that restaurants do read the messages sent via TopTable and, in this case, act on them. We will definitely visit again

One of the nice things about Roux at the Landau is that the lunch menu becomes the pre-theatre menu so an early evening meal is as good value as a lunch. The set courses we had were beautifully cooked and served and we would thoroughly recommend it.

When the name Roux is attached to anything you expect perfection. Now the food was very good, but not perfect, not like when i've eaten at the hand and flowers or DINNER by Heston, yet it was much more expensive. The service however was perfect. Would i reccomend this place ... Sure, it would be on my list of reccomends but not close to the top

    Dined on 15/9/2014
The setting was perfect, the ambiance was great, we went on a Monday so it was half full (so perfect for our anniversary). We were treated perfectly and felt special. We had The Tasting menu with wines which was well organised, well matched and fabulous (working for the Wine Society I know that). Before we arrived we were joking that due to portion size we might need some chips in the way home but after five courses, which individually looked small but perfectly presented, we realised our folly. Definitely recommend it and cannot wait to return.

I booked this table as a surprise for a special occasion. I wanted to go somewhere well known and where I could almost guarantee the food would be exceptional. My partner agreed with my suggestion of the taster menu but without the paired wine option - we each had a very nice glass of Chablis and then agreed a bottle of it would go down well. The food and service were super, with each course bar the main being explained in some detail - interesting. The restaurant wasn't as busy as I thought it might be - even on a Monday lunctime; but it got busier later. I had a seat facing my partner and the wall behind her so I was unable to take in the rest of the goings on - my only slight misgiving. Otherwise, couldn't fault anything. Thank you

Booked the dinner + champagne offer for early evening dinner with my wife after a theatre matinee. The surroundings are very pleasant and the food from a set menu was excellent. I would particular like to highlight the quality of service from the staff who were very friendly and attentive. What is most important is that staff did not treat us as second-class 'offer diners' as has happened on occasions. Would wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anybody who likes nice surroundings, good food and good service.

The ambience was very good; the service was excellent. However I was disappointed with the food; my starter (mackerel) was undercooked and the main was nice but not special. Given that it was a Roux establishment I expected more. I will not be recommending the restaurant based on my experience and I will not go there again.

The food was alright, but perhaps didn't really meet our expectation especially since it's supposed to be a branch of Roux. We had 3 courses each, but did feel that even till the very last dish (dessert) we were not blown away by the quality of the food despite the presentation. They were alright, but definitely not mind-blowing. Though it should be said that the decor of the place is nice and the service was good.

A beautiful dining room set in a grand hotel. The staff were very polite and attentive yet unobtrusive, the level of service was high. We opted for the three course set menu with a glass of champagne, which represented excellent value in terms of the quality of the food. The meal was delicious, especially the Risotto starter which was divine. There was a good choice presented across the set menu and cheese selection was impressive. All in all the perfect setting and choice for a special occasion and our anniversary lunch.

It was my daughters birthday, which we mentioned in passing. The food was fabulous - The best lamb I have ever tasted. We had the chef's menu and the combinations were unusual - goats cheese on toast with chocolate and hazel nus? But everything was a gastronomic adventure. Then I had the Millie-Feuille for desert with Michel's own chocolate - absolutely stunning. At the end they had a slate of desert bites with Happy Birthday iced across the slate. The Chef even signed the menu and wished my daughter best wishes for her birthday. She will remember this meal for a long time to come.

The food was absolutely incredible, so much so that I feel obligated to write my first review. My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and the staff could not have been more attentative. From the private booth to the restaurant manager ensuring everything was ok, it was perfection. We had the squid and egg for starters. Both the highlight of our meal although the egg was out of this world! The lamb and pork for main was a reasonable portion and extremely tender followed by the parfait for dessert. They even gave us a complimentary dessert plate. I cannot wait for another reason to go back.

My 'special request' was any alternative to onion soup. The moment we walked in, the waitress confirmed the soup had been changed - Wow! My husband had the soup, buttered leak and sweetcorn served with beignets - light and crispy, I had the boudin blanc which was light and delicious. Followed by chicken and fish, excellent portions, with unusual accompaniments - red rice with the fish which was excellent. Deserts were a rich and creamy pannacotta with sweet plums and ice cream - three of the most perfect quenelles you have ever seen. Delicious coffee, petit fours to go as we had to hurry for the train. Not slow service, a miscalculation on our part. Just one 1/2 bottle of wine and water (driving later). We could fault nothing.
