A word from Rucoletta
In the shadow of London’s famous St Paul’s Cathedral, Rucoletta is a family run Italian restaurant where you’ll enjoy only the very best homemade food. Relaxed and friendly, Rucoletta is the ideal combination of central London location, comforting atmosphere, good food and surprisingly reasonable prices – and that’s what keeps guests coming back again and again. In the sleek, modern dining room you’ll be looked after Rucolettas' highly trained wait staff, every one well turned out, polite and apparently as enthusiastic about your dinner as you are. It’s easy to see why those meals are getting everybody excited, they really could have been choppered in from mama’s kitchen over in Naples, such is the authenticity of flavours and freshness of the ingredients. In fact, the only indication that these dishes have come straight from the kitchens of a central London restaurant is in the impeccable presentation, overseen by head chef Carmine de Benedictis.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "A nice convenient spot for the City on a weekday evening, with a very good value set menu"
    dined on 06/05/2014
  • "Very nice atmosphere especially upstairs. Do remember to say this when booking. Food was average, service was great. Lots of business people. Would come back"

  • "The food was really very good and the service friendly and welcoming. The only dark point was that the service was a bit too quick! As soon as we'd finished our starters that our mains arrived in seconds and same thing for desert. We would have like to take our time as the place was very nice and we were having an excellent time. "

  • "The food was lovely and good value on the Toptable deal. We were seated quickly and the waitress was very helpful with dietary requirements, although it is a very busy restaurant so not really one for romance, more for catching up with friends. I do find it very cheeky that they calculate the service charge on the full-price food and for that reason it won't be the first place I go back to in this area."

  • "Rucoletta was introduced to me by a friend, a recommendation I am very grateful for ! Good Italian food in an honest and pleasant environment delivered by polite and courteous staff, sounds very ordinary but its still amazing how difficult some places make it, Rucoletta however has always meet my expectations both for a business lunch or an evening supper with my wife. They offer 2 seating areas, the main section on the ground floor and the upstairs which I prefer. This has a loverly skylight and side windows which offers an improved ambiance over the main area. Always worth asking to be seated upstairs at time of booking, which I do recommend as they can become very busy."

  • "Not a bad little restaurant, but the service was poor, forgot table water, took 15 mins to get someone to take my card. The food however was good but rather expensive for what it was. 12.5% service charge also... Made for an all Round forgettable experience."

  • "I had a meal at Rucoletta with 2 friends. We had the top table deal which made the meal extremely good value. The food was lovely. Really enjoyed both the pasta and my dessert. The service was good and they didn't rush us out once we'd finished. Only downside was that it was a bit cold under the air conditioning unit. I will definitely be going back."

  • "Nice Italian restaurant, larger that it seems from the street. very friendly and good food. Good buzz on the evening when we visited. Good for a catch up with friends."

  • "Rucoletta has got it right with great staff and delicious food, bringing me & my friends back repeatedly. The staff are always friendly, upbeat, and fast moving. Their imaginative dishes are delicious and beatifully presented. The flavours and colours of each dish are stunning & it is always wonderful to try new dishes or return to favourites. I recently went with a female friend and we were happy the sound levels in the restaurant meant we could converse easily at our table. I recommend the upstairs, with large windows and overlooking attractive old buildings."

  • "A few friends and I had been before so we had a pleasant catch up diner. We were a little disappointed that they only had one rose on the wine list and that they didn't have any of that. We were told when we ordered that there was a 2 hour slot on the table, something that I don't think had been advised when I booked the table, but we made it without having to wolf our meal down. Service was good and friendly."

  • "It was the first time that I hade been to Rucoletta and decided to try it because of the Top Table deal. I went for dinner with some colleagues from work and although we had intended to use the Top Table deal, we were so impressed with the set menu that we went for that instead. The restaurant is in a good loaction and is smart. The food was very good and the portion sizes just right. It was very busy, but there was no pressure for us to move as soon as we had finished eating and we had a very enjoyable evening. I will certainly return."

  • "An enjoyable return to this eaterie in the shadows of St Paul's. Using the 50% off mains, we had good food, nicely served at a very reasonable price. Wines are reasonably priced too. They did forget to take off the 50% reduction when our bill arrived, but I am sure it was a genuine mistake."
    dined on 20/03/2014
  • "Even with the 50% discount, I only managed to receive a a disappointing £5.40 reduction from a bill value of £40.00. The discount isnt eligable for starters."

  • "Rucoletta is one of my favourite places near Bank/St Pauls. The food is absolutely delicious and it is very affordable for what you get - especially with a deal! The service and atmosphere is great - there is nothing I can fault!"
    dined on 11/03/2014
  • "We booked this through TopTable within five minutes of arriving and they already had everything set up, in place and our reservation on the table plan. Service was very attentive, but not over bearing and the food was great. I'm not a veggie, but opted for gnocchi - there were many other vegetarian options. The meat looked amazing, too. Really modern and clean inside. Would recommend."

  • "This was a last minute dinner booking in the City. It was hidden away near St. Paul's but it was such a great change from the usual food chains like Prezzo and Zizzi. We opted for a la carte, there was a great range of choice. The food was very good, sizeable portions and everything came out piping hot. I chose the salmon risotto, it was soooo good, i did not manage to finish it because the portion was so large. My other half opted for linguine with meatballs, he really enjoyed the fresh made pasta. Overall a great night out with a loved one and somewhere we return to get quality Italian food."
    dined on 05/03/2014
  • "I went to Rucoletta, having it very strongly recommended by an Italian colleague. For starters my girlfriend and I shared the selection of Italian starters which was nice, even if the meat balls were average. For mains we got the venison and the monk-fish. Even if the food was well prepared, it didn't have anything that stood out. The desert, 2 tiramisus, again wasn't bad, but we have had much better in the other non Italian places. What really disappointed me, as we went with the offer from toptable (50% off main courses), is that the bill was presented to us with the service charge (12.5%) added on the non discounted total, which was nowhere to be found on the bill. Unless you got your calculator out you would never had known!! Pity ..."

  • "Good venue for a business lunch - food is very good and not too bad for vegetarians (pasta choices). Service was fast and friendly."

  • "I had the best liver ever! Very good food (I recommend boar and deer meat too), lovely atmosphere and nice service, perfect for a romantic dinner."

  • "Very slow service Extremely al dente pasta Stomach ache the following morning Not good value for money"
    dined on 27/02/2014
  • "Really enjoyed our meal at Rucoletta. Just a business lunch for two, but we really appreciated the authentic Italian food and the house wine was excellent too."
    dined on 27/02/2014
  • "Superb restaurant, lovely food and very friendly service"
    dined on 20/02/2014
  • "Was amazed to find such a great family run place in the middle of the city. The pasta and risotto were wonderful and for the price even better. The pasta is hand made on the day by the chef and was cooked to perfection. It is small and seems mainly for tables of 2, we thought as it was small it was quite loud but a great place to go after work if you are near by."
    dined on 20/02/2014
  • "Food was outstanding. A special take on some standard fare and some interesting options were also on the menu. Wine list offered a well- considered selection. We will be back."
    dined on 19/02/2014
  • "I went twice to Rucoletta, and didn't really enjoyed in both cases. The waiters are friendly and helpful, the ambience is pleasant. But that doesn't change the fact that the food is far from being good and is clearly overpriced. You pay for being in a cosy place close to St Paul's rather than for a tasty italian....."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Great food and wine and very good relaxing atmosphere. Excellent set price menu"
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Went here for Valentines day - service was fantastic. Very friendly staff with a smile; we were greeted by all the waiters and waitresses on the way in and they all said goodbye as we were leaving. Didn't feel rushed at all, which was my fear in a London restaurant on possibly their busiest night of the year! The ambiance was great; we were lucky enough to be sat upstairs, where they had a lovely skylight (although slightly ruined by some of the buildings in view!) and the tables were really nicely set up. Food was very good too. Had the venison which had a lovely rich sauce with it. It was good value. £35 per head and that was for some bread, starters, mains and shared a pud with a bottle of wine. I would recommend this restaurant."
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "Which such discounted prices I didn't go with high expectations but Rucoletta still served great italian cuisine which set it above from other chain Italians and the "average Italian" place. I'm really glad I've found it and will definitely be back. The only shame is that their dessert menu is very limited, but I guess they're focusing on the pasta et al! Delicious food and romantic but laid back atmosphere."
    dined on 12/02/2014
  • "I met a friend here for lunch. Food was good, service was subtle. Ambience to be expected in the city. Overall a very good experience."
    dined on 11/02/2014
  • "Excellent food at reasonable prices. Run by people who seem to care and want you to have an enjoyable meal"
    dined on 10/02/2014
  • "I book a meal for my wife and I and I was not disappointed. The food and service at Rucoletta was excellent. I will be going back."
    dined on 06/02/2014
  • "Good food, good value, good service, good ambience. Not haute cuisine, of course, but for a decent Italian meal, this restaurant ticks all the boxes. I would definitely go back."
    dined on 05/02/2014
  • "As usual when we come to the Rucoletta we are made to feel very welcomed even on a busy Friday evening. We returned to this very pleasant restaurant for the attentive but not obtrusive service and delicious but reasonably priced food. My friend given preference to a vegetarian meal had melanzane alla Parmigiana followed by risotto al prosecco while I had veal meat balls and belly of pork which was sublime. The tiramisu' is always irresistable so we shared one. For me this is a brilliant find and will certainly return and recommend to other food boffins."
    dined on 31/01/2014
  • "This was the second time in three months we have dined at the restaurant. The food as on the previous occasion was excellent. It was busy as this was during a promotional 50 per cent off main courses.. .The service was both warm and attentive. It was also interesting to note that the menu had changed since our earlier visit. The quality of the food and value remained unchanged. .."
    dined on 29/01/2014
  • "I went here with a friend. We both ate pasta and shared a pudding. The pasta meatballs were really tasty. The white Choc pudding was a bit strange but we had a nice time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The loo's weren't lovely. The bill was cheap but we did have a top table 50% off food. I probably wouldn't want to pay double."
    dined on 29/01/2014
  • "Very tasty food. I had the wild boar papardelle with a red wine and dark chocolate sauce. It was original and very good. I would definitely recommend trying this place out."
    dined on 28/01/2014
  • "Wide range across all the courses. Thoughtfully presented, sensibly sized portions, special offer gave particularly good value Service was of the best I've had for some time. Plenty of waitresses, each aware of our order and where we were in our meal, each able to take us to the next course."
    dined on 27/01/2014
  • "I went with a friend but it's a great place for couples. Quite cosy and with exactly the right kind of mood music you'd expect of an Italian restaurant. Food was good and cooked al dente. The panna cotta was pretty delicious."
    dined on 24/01/2014
  • "2nd visit and just as good as the first. Food and service and especially value is excellent. Bit noisy but most places are that are small with laminate floors.....! Set men at £13.95 is worth double that cost!!!"
    dined on 21/01/2014
  • "Rucoletta was selected based upon the offer on the main course and the restaurants close proximity to St Pauls tube station. As it turned out the food and service were excellent and wine was inexpensive. We had booked the only table by the window and this had been reserved for us before our arrival. We could not fault our experience from start to finish. We will be back when we're next in the area."
