A word from Sen Nin Japanese Teppanyaki & Sushi Restaurant - Camden
Sen Nin Japanese Teppanyaki and Sushi restaurant, located in London on Camden's Pratt Street, is a hip spot to stop-off for a sushi-and-sake break, and this restaurant's relaxed, zen interior and excellent value-for-money menu attract a regular crowd of local scenesters, sushi enthusiasts and media folk. Everyone gathers in a group around teppanyaki grills in groups of ten, maybe orders a starter or two, then watches in delight as the chef performs, searing squid, meats, chicken and more. Sen Nin’s teppanyaki-style service guarantees a good show, and the theatrical chefs provide the perfect backdrop for first dates, pre-gig bites and fun nights out with friends. Sen Nin’s other Japanese menu specialties include fresh sushi, teppanyaki, tempura and soups with cocktails and chilled or hot sake on the side – we recommend the deluxe assorted sashimi platter, the udon gozen noodles with tempura prawns and vegetables. Diner Reviews
  • "Pretty good overall. Chefs are quite entertaining and the food good average. But soup and house wine leaves something to be desired!."
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "Whilst the good was utterly incredible, every course a delight, it was equally matched with an excellent spectacle of flames, food and fun!! We really enjoyed our night and the chef was definitely the highlight, funny and friendly he made the evening what it was and for that we thank him!!"
    dined on 25/07/2014
  • "The staff was very friendly. A nice dining experience with live cooking and very reasonably priced for London."

  • "A great dining experience with fresh food served in such an entertaining way. They offer a great choice of food and it is cooked to perfection. The waiters and chefs are very friendly and so we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would go again."

  • "My friend recommended about Sennin and it's an amazing experience. Good food and great service though the restaurant was fully packed. Nice atmosphere & great value for food. Very tasty food!!!!"

  • "It was an early dinner with my friend. We seat in front of a cooking plate with nice street view by the window. Very friendly service & live cooking, I would recommend Sen-NIN as a great restaurant. The value and flavour of food is worth. Very friendly server & chef was entertaining as well. We will be back soon."

  • "You get great food and entertainment, its a really fun night. + the mango mojitos are delicious"
    dined on 22/07/2014
  • "The place was hot, and even we were sharp (we came 5 min before booked time), it was busy, so we had to wait outside. After 20 minutes, they seated us in the corner, with dirty table and ignored us for next 30 minutes. We didn't even get the drink! Place was clearly overbooked and under staffed. After that, we switched for Italian place, around the corner and it was much better!"
    dined on 15/07/2014
  • "All I can say that is that the food and service was brilliant. The whole experience was very entertaining and it's a real treat seeing the chefs cooking infront of you."
    dined on 08/07/2014
  • "Wonderful service food and entertainment. Wish we had a restaurant near us!"
    dined on 05/07/2014
  • "I loked the principle of a "show" during the dinner. but wasting food by throwing it to the mouth of customers should be avoided."
    dined on 14/06/2014
  • "It was a really good experience to eat there. The food was awesome and of course it worths the price, the staffs are really friendly."
    dined on 11/06/2014
  • "We chose one of the teppanyaki set meals which, on paper, looked very substantial, but in fact was no more than just enough. However, the quality of the food was very good with great flavours and the usual teppanyaki show to boot. Busy restaurant, bit cramped, nice atmosphere. Very enjoyable."
    dined on 04/06/2014
  • "Overall, the food was nice but pricey for what you received and no choice for the dessert? I liked the experience of having the food cooked in front of me, but I didn't like the fact that there were no vegetarian options included on the set menu. "
    dined on 31/05/2014
  • "I would recommend this restaurant for a fun, informal meal. We had sushi to start, and then teppanyaki for our mains, which was cooked well, with a good level of flair. As others have commented, I have been to better sushi and teppanyaki restaurants, but if you're in the area it's worth a visit for good food at a fair price."
    dined on 19/05/2014
  • "Sen Nin is a great place for group dining and especially good if you're into a bit of entertainment with your food. The Teppanyaki chefs are a lot of fun and make this a memorable dining experience for all."
    dined on 17/05/2014
  • "Title says it all really, it was ok. We booked a table for 10pm, it was empty at that point....on a Friday. Food was decent, nothing special tbh. 5/10 "
    dined on 09/05/2014
  • "We booked for two and were wedged in at the corner than when we asked to be moved were seated at the back, right next to the toilets. Loud, completely chaotic. Great if you're with a few friends and don't mind the crush, not for a date or in fact chatting unless you don't mind shouting a bit. In fact, we left before even ordering."
    dined on 06/05/2014
  • "Very nice evening. The scampi was faboulus. A good place to bring your kids. "
    dined on 26/04/2014
  • "Good food, prawn tampura a little overcooked but otherwise fine. £20 each for food and drinks with the 50% off offer on Tuesdays makes this one of the cheapest Tappenyaki places in London to eat at."
    dined on 15/04/2014
  • "Thoroughly enjoyed dinner at this restaurant. Good choice of food and prices very reasonable. The Filipino cook entertained with tricks while cooking the teppanyaki, making it a pleasant & enjoyable night-out."
    dined on 14/04/2014
  • "If you are looking for something different with some entertainment thrown into your meal out - this is the place to go! Watch your food be cooked live in front of you and get involved! some chef more interactive then others but such a fun night - something different! Food was really good as well - and with the TT offer it makes it all the more appealing!"
    dined on 05/04/2014
  • "A lively Japanese "experience". Starters were lovely, but we had to wait for another group to arrive as they feed everyone at the same time. It's more for parties and birthdays, lots of high octane chopping and throwing things around. Main course, pretty average. Very noisy!"
    dined on 05/04/2014
  • "Nice restaurant and fun chefs. We had to wait quite a bit for our table, but once the chef entered it was kinda fun. Been on better Teppanyaki places, but well worth the visit"
    dined on 29/03/2014
  • "Food was great, chef was good fun, getting all the diners involved. No complaints"

  • "Superb service and quality of the food. Very freindly service and we all (2 adults and daugther on 17 year) felt very velcome and entertaint. Would absolut recommend the restaurant."

  • "Sen Nin Japanese was truly quite an experience and with the TopTable offers on their set menus, it made it even better! The entertaining chefs showing us their skills with the tepanyaki was amazing! The food was lovely and fresh and all the staff were very attentive, they also remembered my guest who had been before. I would recommend it for a cosy dinner party with friends/family and will definitely go back again."
    dined on 08/03/2014
  • "I have never been to a teppanyaki restaurant but always wanted to. And this really met all my expectations and went over and above on service. I thought that the chef would come out and just cook then leave...i was wrong. The chef put on a show for us a little bit of crowd participation aswel including a raw egg and a chefs hat. Really brilliant time and i feel i got my monies worth aswel. Roughly about £55-£60 for 2. You really must go. I will be goin again for my birthday."
    dined on 08/03/2014
  • "Excellent restaurant, it was very fun. Chef was really great"
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "Good food and even better service. The only problem: all your clothes will end smelling like hell. "Fritanga" we say in Spanish. Great time for my 10 and 12 yo girls!"
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "Set meal, three small beers and starter close to £50 per person. Food portions were small and left wanting to stop somewhere else to grab something to eat. You pay for the show, but i was expecting more generous portions, for £10 you have similar products and more generous portions on any asian takeaway. Good as a novelty experience but im sure no one repeats"
    dined on 27/02/2014
  • "Really gorgeous food, wonderful service. Only really worth it with Toptable discount though."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "Booked on the day via toptable with a 50% discount on the set meal. We did have to wait a while for our main meal to be cooked as one of the chefs had sliced open his hand earlier that day and had to go to hospital! But we were given extra miso soup whilst waiting. However, we did not have to wait too long and it did give us chance to allow x2 miso soups and appetizers to go down before the main meal. I enjoyed watching the teppanyaki being made, the chef was funny and there was more than enough for us to eat. At full price this would be a very expensive meal and not worth it, but at £25 each this is definitely worth the money and is different to any normal restaurant"
    dined on 19/02/2014
  • "Great place for food and entertainment but be warned you smell like a chip pan fryer when you come out. Dont wear your best coat :)"
    dined on 15/02/2014
  • "Slow service. Waited for a booked table. Didn't take order for a good 30 mins"
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "The food was lovely although the chef that cooked it in front if us and threw egg for us to catch in out mouths needs to work on his accuracy! It was a perfect non - stuffy and super tasty meal out"
    dined on 14/02/2014
  • "The food is good, but a little pricey. I know you are also paying for the entertainment of the chef. This was merely ok. Quantities of food could have been greater. We ordered two starters and two mains to share and I had ample room left for more food. Also, I booked through Top Table with a 25% off the total bill deal. At the end the full bill was given to me and i had to send it back for the 25% deduction to be made (is that a mere oversight, or are they hoping people will no notice/be too embarrassed to ask for the deduction)?? Overall it is nice, but not amazing."
    dined on 13/02/2014
  • "Friendly yet professional, really appreciated the extra effort the staff went to in making our visit (for my husband's birthday) very special --could not have asked for anything more!"
