Great drinks. Great atmosphere. Music choice absolutely right. Amazing shows and great live band. Best Thursday night Ive had in a long time. Food slightly dissapointing - mine was very very cold but the place was busy so cannot be helped sometimes Went for dinner. Left at half two! Have booked again already for my boyfriends birthday.

The atmosphere and service here are bad during the weekday evenings... Staff are unattentive caused by the fact there are too many staff for the tables they are serving and it seemed as if the servers were just bored. There is a lack of organisation amongst the servers, it appeared as if nobody actually owned our table. We did not feel welcome or valued. Nobody had a smile on their face and were far more interested in talking to each other and boping to the music as they stood about with their hands behind their back than in noticing we needed more drinks or were missing condements from the table. The food was good, compliments to the chef, however your restaurant staff are letting you down chef! I would not recomend or return.

Our group of six arrived at our booked time and were made to wait almost half an hour before being shown to our table. The table was very dirty and had not been cleaned after the previous diners. We were apologised to and told that someone would come and clean it for us. I had to ask again for it to be wiped down. The food however was very nice, and pretty good value with the waitress being friendly and attentive . We were seated in an upstairs section which was separate from the bar and live band downstairs. This was fine with us but if you wanted to enjoy the live band atmosphere ask to be seated downstairs. I've no idea what the band was like because we couldn't hear it but the atmosphere looked good from where we were sitting.

We had booked Steam and Rye for a friends leaving occasion and we had all heard great things about the place. We could barely read the menu and had to get a candle from a display to do so. The food & cocktails were great but soon after we finished our mains we were quickly given the dessert menu then told we only had 20 minutes until the table was taken by another booking. We were a little late which i did tell the lady who rang me on the phone and she said it would be fine! We were then given our last cocktails and a few moments later the bill was put down in front of us and then the server was straight over standing next to us with the card machine! Will not recommend to friends! Wasted trip.

I had heard a great deal about Steam and Rye and was intrigued as to how it would stack up to the reviews. My word it exceeded everything i had heard. The food is on another level. The fillet steak was out of this world and the lobster was so fresh you could still taste the saltiness of the sea water. Then came the cocktails. Over the top they are!!! Amazing they are!!!! The services was fantastic also. We were served complimentary cocktails after we paid the bill by out waitress which was a nice, unexpected touch. If you like good food, good drinks and good vibes this is the place to go.

When arriving to the restaurant we were seated 10 minutes early which was good. However when we sat down we waited 10 minutes to be asked if we'd like a drink! Food came, which was good, I ordered shrimp and my friend ordered the ribs... both very nice and tasty We then waited 15 minutes for them to clear our empty plates away, desserts were offered which we declined but asked to see the drinks menu again for more cocktails, it never arrived and we waited another 15 minutes before i was able to grab a waitresses attention and tell her that we had been abandoned. She did not apologise and instead told us that she thought we were 'ok'. We could of drank at least 2 more drinks in the time. No apology, bad service. Will never return again

All my of friends raved on about this place for months so I thought Id give it a try for my birthday before seeing a show with my partner. We went early evening for dinner and drinks. Firstly we got put on a tiny table right next to be very loud group booking in the middle of the walkway.. Felt very squashed and in the way! we asked to move to another table/booth which were all free and the waiter said they was all booked. We was there for 2 hours and not one person came on any of the tables. we asked again he said he "didn't want to disturb' even though we had asked twice. They served the wrong starters which ended in us getting to the show later than originally expected. I would not recommend food but lively drinks venue.

A group of 8 of us went to Steam and Rye to take advantage of it's Mon / Tue unlimited ribs offer... Needless to say they were excellent (as they always have been in the past), with the meat just falling off the bone. It took a little while for the first batch to come out, but the subsequent ones came out pretty quick. We all just about finished three rounds, and I can say I still felt full the next morning! Worth remembering it's basically a bar that does some great BBQ style food, so don't expect a quiet, relaxing experience. That being said, it was a lot more chilled out than it usually is on the Thursday's I've eaten in there before.

Where do I start? Waited ages for them to take our drinks order. After ordering the food, we then waited a while, only for the mains to be brought before the starters. When they brought the mains back out later they claimed that they hadn't just kept them warm, but had made new plates. However, the dried sauce round the edge of the dish seemed to indicate otherwise. We also ordered a bottle of wine to go with the mains, but we had to ask for this three times before it eventually appeared half way through. The irony was that the food was pretty good, but the service ruined it. The only saving grace was that they at least knocked 20% of the bill and didn't charge us for our coffees. However, I won't be going back.

We arrived as a couple for a romantic meal to celebrate our anniversary. Only to find it more of a bar than a restaurant. We arrived at 6:30pm on a Friday night and it wasn't a restaurant at all. It was a bar with a few tables and booths put to one side. The parting between people at the bar and the restaurant wasn't big enough and made it hard to hear each other. Overall the food was good and the service was ok but nothing special. I'm not quite sure if they know what they are yet but it certainly isn't a restaurant.

The Serving staff are very slow and some can't understand your requests through their lack of English. The bar area is sectioned off from the eating tables with just a rope and if you're sitting on the main floor to eat then people standing over you in the bar area can be pretty uncomfortable. The food really isn't anything to write home about. it is like a not so good version of tgi's. We had the sharing platter and I have to say by the time we "finished" it looked just as full as when it arrived. The ribs were good however everything else had a microwaved feel to it. They offer 50% off on a Wednesday for ladies holding one of their member cards, however even with 50% off it wasn't worth returning.

Fantastic decor and styling. Good not bad. Sat in booth which was fun as made up to be part of old western train Problem was service. Took ages to get a drink even at the table. Have an alcoholic drink to a pregnant diner even when specifically ordered. Did not bring water requested and when asked for another round never came back! Service added ( discretionary ) so deducted it and left correct money. Went to downstairs empty bar where waiter told us when reserved people arrived we would need to move ( no problem - no sign). Asked what time - he didn't know! Then the waitress found us to say we hadn't paid correctly. I pointed out why she had that amount and she squirmed then left as did we!

Just took my 86 year old mother to dinner at Steam and Rye and at first I thought she would hate it as it was really noisy. Well I couldn't have been more wrong, she loved every bit of it. Loved the atmosphere, the wait staff were great and the food was excellent. We all had different meals and it arrived promptly and well presented. We were sat in the bar area and there were a couple of hen parties and a birthday party going on and I won't be able to listen to the Indiana Jones theme again without thinking of our meal there. I was so impressed I have re-booked for another evening out with some friends when we are next up in London. Would highly recommend, loved it.

Me and my boyfriend came for a meal and cocktails on a Saturday night, booked in for 9;15 but wasn't seated un till 9:45 because apparently they were still people on our table but we could see loads of empty ones, we were then seated right on the outside near the dance floor we're drunk people kept banging our table and we couldn't hear each other, there were numerous empty tables away which we could have been sat At instead. As soon as we finished eating we were asked to move when it specifies on the website the table Is booked for two hours, we had been sat down maybe 45 minutes . The staff were rude and slow

Firstly, we went on a wednesday for "Ladies night". Ask to sign up at the front desk as they won't mention it otherwise. Service was slow and beware of the rude waitresses. We shared the 1kg rib. Extremely meaty, falls off the bone and full of flavour. The cocktails are fun and quirky but not very nice. The final bill was definitely value for money although at full price, it would have been very pricey. Note, the live band is really loud. Great if you want to party, not so great if you want a good girly catch up.

Went to Steam and Rye with some work mates and specifically went for the all you can eat ribs and shrimps. When we got the food my mate said 'you can tell a good rib when the meat falls off the bone!'. So that was an initially good sign!!! I had the shrimps and these where probably some of the best shrimps for a diner that i have ever tasted, they were soft and not chewy at all. Then i had some of the ribs and they were also so tasty!!! I would recommend this place to anyone for the all you can eat but I have to say the service was second to none. As soon as we finished one plate of food they were over asking us if we wanted more!!!! If asked to go again....................absolutely yes i would!!!!!!

I went with 3 colleagues from work and had a great time. We went on Wednesday night for the ladies sorority night, and couldn’t believe the bill at the end - such good value for money and in the city too! But that wasn’t the only great thing about the night, they accommodated our request to change the time of our reservation effortlessly (thanks Laura!) and it meant we were able to arrive in good time from work. Also, the food was just great. 2 of us had the ribs and the other the burger and they were so yummy. The slaw was amazing too. In fact the food was just great. I would highly recommend it. Thanks for a great evening!

The main issue was poor service in this restaurant, our waitress simply didn't have any customer service skills and this was evident in almost every interaction with her. Another problem the heat! The restaurant was like a sauna and many people were having to step outside to cool down. This was not helped by fact that we were a party of 10 people cramped into a booth that was too small for our numbers and this made for an uncomfortable dining experience. Manager took service charge off our bill. We selected this venue to celebrate my fiance's birthday and had intended to stay there all evening, but we left after the meal. Food was OK, nothing special. I would return to this venue for a drink, but would never dine there again.

We ate at Steam and Rye on a Tuesday to take advantage of the £17.95 ribs and shrimp offer. Steam and Rye do good ribs and good shrimp. The only fly in the ointment was the hostess, who looked good in a 1920s flapper dress but that was about it. We were early and she said “your table is available, but not ready.” When I asked her to clarify I got the same answer so we admitted defeat, went to the bar and sorted it out with the normal waiting staff who were more helpful. When my other friend arrived after us she was told by the hostess that she had no booking for me and left my friend to it. My friend wandered round by herself until she found us. Is this customer service? Great food but let down by a 1920s flapper...

The food and service was fantastic and there were plenty of staff buzzing about to get us whatever we needed. The price was reasonable considering the amount we drank and ate so I was impressed with the bill too. My only criticism would be that it was extremely hot in the Grand Central booth we was sitting in although also very spacious so we had a whole space to ourselves... Overall it was a great night, great food, service and atmosphere, especially when the band kicked off... just too hot hot hot in the carriage booths.

I booked a table for 4 people at 8:45pm for my boyfriends birthday. I was told the table would have balloons and we arrived and the table had not been decorated. We then had to wait around 20 minutes for each round of drinks to be brought to us. The worst thing about the evening was trying to eat our expensive meal whilst being surrounded by drunk guests at the bar - the tables for 4 are literally on the same floor as the bar area with a tiny rope separating you. All night we were being knocked into whilst trying to eat, people putting their empty glasses on our table and spilling drinks over us whilst dancing by our chair. A horrible dining experience, was very disappointed and will not be going back.
