I was really interested to see what all the hype was about and it took around two months from booking it to the actual dining experience. The setting is pleasant enough and a view over london is nice but to be fair it's no New York. The service was very good and the overall care of the patrons was attentive and personal. However, the food did not match the premium price they charge and therefore it fell way below my expectations. They was no artistry or presentation that warranted the cost and to pay more than £15 for four pork ribs which had less meat than a jockeys whip is ridiculous. Having paid £140 between my friend and I and to leave and still be hungry is not a dining experience I want to repeat or would recommend. If you want a view of London hire a helicopter, I'm sure it will be cheaper!

The man at the door at street level was so unecessary. Can I help you he said as if we were lost tourists. It was my birthday and I had booked a table months in advance. Once we were sat it Didnt get much better. Service was ok but a bit patronising. Turbot was tasty but tiny, tempura prawn with spicy Mayo was the standout dish but sadly everything else lacked. The Wagu beef special wasn't and was bland. The worst was the sushi rolls. Overcooked rice and spicy tina rolls with tempura flakes were mushy and over sweet with not a note of tempura crispness. My cocktail was all cheap sweetness . At £87 you expect a lot more view or no view.

As a foodie, this place does deliver on sushi, wagyu tacos, ribeye (**great for sharing**), grilled cod and so many others! Bookings are tough and definitely worth the wait. I must add though if you wish to leave full, expect a price range btw £120 to £180 per head and convene to their rooftop area for further skyline enjoyment.

The plates are quite small so it's best to share if possible. Interesting mix, mainly sushi. Cocktails are great, most are £13 each. The bar has an outdoor section beneath a huge orange tree which is worth a look.

Very confusing that the reception desk for the restaurant is on the opposite side to where you walk in with no direction from staff. Expensive cocktails from moody bartenders and then service added to the bill. Ridiculous and not deserved. Not all negative, very reasonable sized portions and a fantastic waiter (his name I cannot remember). During the day I'm sure the view is amazing but with such chaos all round it wasn't enjoyed on the evening we went.

Having been here a few times before when SushiSamba never lets me down, This time, I took a different group of friends and unfortunately the level of service seems to have decreased. Disappointing because the venue and atmopshere itself is still amazing so to be let down by the service doesn't do them any favours. Not sure if I will return in a hurry...

This place is fantastic. The warm friendly greeting by the door hosts at ground level to the excellent service delivered at the table. If I had to pick a fault it would be the random music that was playing, it could be samba one minute to pop the next which can take you out of ambiance for a bit. Oddly enough it seemed to work so no real issue. The waiters are amazing especially Manu, if your lucky enough to be served by him then your in for a great night. He is very knowledgeable and goes out of his way to make sure your night is enjoyable. The cocktails are some of the best we have tasted and the food is heavenly. I dont often return to restaurants once I've been there but this is a place I can't stay away from. We ate at 5:15pm which in my opinion is a good time to eat as it's not too busy and you get full attention from waiters. Plus its dark so you get the view of London.

With its lofty views overlooking the city-scape below this restaurant is rightly fêted as one of the best places to go for a wonderful evening's dining. The food, a combination of Japanese, Brazillian and Peruvian is absolutely mouthwatering and I'm not a huge fan of sushi! The black cod, lightly grilled with crispy bits just melts in your mouth. The service was attentive but not intrusive. After the meal we hung out in the bar and gazed at the views. The one downside was the music got turned up half way through the meal which spoiled the romance a bit, but all in all a great place to go for a treat.

We arrived promptly for our 7.45pm reservation and our table was still being used by the previous guests. We were asked to wait by the bar and were shown to our seats over half an hour later. We were then compensated by a glass of champagne on the house. One of the guests had ordered a cocktail at the bar which never showed up. The meal was lovely although one of our orders was forgotten and we had to remind our server for it. Pretty good value for money and spectacular views!! I would definitely come again but have been to other places which were far better as I am apprehensive of the negatives.

My partner and I decided to celebrate our first anniversary at Sushi Samba, and I had had to book the table 2.5 months in advance just to make sure we got a table on the day which was a Saturday Night. The woman over the phone when we had to confirm the booking 2 days before and said she knew we wanted a window table and that it was our anniversary, but when we got there we received no sort of special treatment nor a table next to a window, but by the wooden structure inside the room, and when a table became free right against the window I asked to move us as we'd only just sat down and a member of staff came over and said I'd been too general with the term'window' and that I should have said 'north' window, as someone else had already asked for that specific table so we couldn't move. Food was great though not much of it and everything was expensive.

Overall we had a great experience at sushi samba. However, our table was booked for 9pm and we were not seated until 9:30! We were not offered a complimentary drink or any seating area whilst we waited so we were standing waiting for our table. Our waiter felix was great and our table was great with stunning views. I asked for brown sugar for my coffee and was told there wasn't any??? I then asked felix and he organised it for me. So overall lovely experience just a shame it didn't start off well and we had an idiot waiter at the end telling me they didn't have brown sugar.

I was a bit nervous about the reviews of the rude staff as I was taking someone as a surprise, however, the wait staff were lovely! They walked us through the menu, made recommendations, gave us a gorgeous table we felt totally spoilt! The 4 out of 5 mark was for the wait staff, however the bar staff would get zero. After the meal there were 4 of them behind the bar having a chat, they totally ignored me for a good 5 mins before asking for my order, which at £20+ for two drinks is not great. However.............. everything else here was truly amazing! We had such a nice time even the grumble about the bar staff doesn't take away from the amazing afternoon we had! The view speaks for itself and the food was totally gorgeous.

  • 40th B'day dinner - or was it 50th?

Booked this for OH's 40th b'day dinner as it 's on Guy Fawkes night and I wanted to be where we could see the fireworks. In that regard Sushi Samba was an outstanding choice. A 20 min wait for our table with no offer of a seat or drink as consolation was our arrival. Once seated the food & service was good - but not great. Having eaten at their Miami branch previously, London just didn't quite match it on either front. As a final flourish when my hubby was presented with his dessert instead of the plate saying Happy 40th B'day it had Happy 50th. Even the waiter knew it was wrong but brought it over anyway (he made a joke about it). I was mortified. Such a simple thing but getting that wrong means I will not return.

All in all I enjoyed my visit to Sushi Samba. I particularly enjoyed the pork belly but thought all the food was lovely. I'm not 100% sure why we had such a tough time booking (and why we weren't able to book a table for slightly later) as the restaurant was almost empty the majority of the time we were there. But, all in all, despite being slightly expensive, I would highly recommend Sushi Samba.

We LOVED Sushi Samba. I surprised my husband with dinner here, & we were both so happy with the ambience, service, the food-the entire evening. We started with a cocktail in the bar, then purchased a bottle of wine.We took this through the to restaurant only to find they had a far better (&more extensive) wine selection there so wish someone had told us that prior. The 3 options on the bar wine list was disappointing. However, everything else was fabulous. My husband is a big rugby player- so eats big meals. We shared 7 plates(incl edamame), plus dessert. We purchased a cocktail/beer then shared a bottle of wine. All up incl tip and VAT was just under £200.We were both full at the end & were satisfied before we ate dessert.Huge wife points!

Sushi Samba is my favourite place to eat, and continually look forward to visiting again & again! So as a birthday treat I took my dad along enabling me to share the awesome experience with my family to whom I had always talked so highly of Sushi Samba. However this most recent visit was a shame because the table felt the pressure of being pushed off our table. I understand there are bookings that all need catering for & I would've happily cooperated, but instead of a quiet word with myself to allow me to inform my family, a member of staff repeatedly interrupted to ask us questions - it was clear to all my guest that they needed to leave. I would & will return again though 😊

On my second time dining at Sushi Samba I was still won over with the gorgeous atmosphere of the bar/restaurant, extremely attentive staff & scrumptious food. The bar area is always lively with plenty of staff to tend to any needs you should have whilst you're waiting for your table, the only downside that I experienced was that the waiting staff were clearly ready to get the next lot of guests in so dinner felt a bit rushed. Overall food a& drink excellent! The black cod and watermelon baja cocktail my personal favourites. I would definitely recommend for dinner and cocktails for a special occasion or mid-week treat, just keep in mind that the staff are definitely clock watching as you eat so the later you can book the better.

This was my third trip to Sushi Samba. I have loved both the food and the experience the last two times. Unfortunately this visit was not as enjoyable as both previous visits. On this occasion I booked a table for 3 (as opposed to two as before) as me and my partner had a friend in town and we wanted to impress her. The table we were given was right at the back of the restaurant, away from any windows and facing the open front kitchen. Not a very good way to impress someone from LA that this is one of the best restaurants in London. :( Also, the balcony area was closed and we were not given a specific reason why. So the whole experience of dining in one of London's best restaurants with a stunning view was somewhat subdued. Shame.

I've been to Sushisamba twice, now. I love the ambience, and the level of experimentation with the food, but I disliked the feeling of having to rush my meal to prepare for the next diners. I would have liked to have sat down for a little bit longer, and maybe order more food if the first round wasn't enough, but we were forced to order everything in one go.

I came here for my anniversary and it was absolutely amazing. We got seats next to the window so we had spectacular views of London, the only downside was I think we were under the air con so it did get a bit chilly. After a few of the cocktails we warmed right up, so the temperature was no longer an issue. The food was divine, and the yellow tail taquitos are a MUST! the service was great, as you would expect for the price you are paying. Would definitely come again!

My recent experience at Sushi Samba was good apart from one thing - it would have helped if the waiter who took our order, could have advised us a little bit about the portion sizes. As I was choosing which sushi rolls I wanted, i was going down the list and asked if I had wanted all the rolls. It was only me and my friend who were having dinner really late, as a celebration. i then thought about it and thought perhaps I shouldn't over order and he suggested i order 7 rolls. In the end i ordered 6 rolls only, this was still way too many for the two of us to eat. Perhaps staff taking orders should advise diners on whether they are over ordering or not! Aside from that, everything else was good and all other staff were amazing. thank you!

Fine-dining expert mother was left a little disappointed by the sizes of some of the portions. Great wine and fabulous desserts. Not one dish failed to delight - absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. Waiting staff were lovely. Even the weather was good enough to allow us some excellent views of London.
