Diner Reviews
  • "A lively atmosphere at this unashamedly touristy venue. Friendly and knowledgable staff and good food. Very Japanese orientated menu. Noisy and very windy outside as it's so high! Take a jacket even on warm evenings. Expensive but good fun for a treat or special occasion."

  • "Took my partner for dinner to celebrate his birthday. Very classy restaurant, with amazing service. We got a lot of attention from the waiter, which was lovely. The food was spectacular; every plate had a completely unique and luxurious taste. Go there for food you can really appreciate. Costs a bomb but you get what you pay for. Definitely will not be my last time dining there!"

  • "Nice food but overly attentive waitress who got deeply annoying as she kept moving plates around on our table. Thought the food was expensive for what you got, although did taste good. Bit disappointed to be put at a table overlooking the ugly roof - rather than one of the panoramic views - particularly given the restaurant was nowhere near full. Took an overly long time to get seated too. All in was an ok experience but not good enoguh to make me want to go back."

  • "What a awesome restaurant! Would love to go back tonight if I could!"

  • "I was there for a special occasion. Would have appreciated a better table. Table was not reserved for me. Staff were trying to be helpful but they lacked a certain element of courtesy. Was waiting most of the time so that the waiters notice me, to place orders etc."

  • " Does not worth the money that you spend and the fact that you have to book a table 2 months in advance. Food and drinks were average (5 dishes and 2 drinks 130£) Service was very bad, they were rushing all the time, they make us feel very uncomfortable , everybody, the manager included(the guy with grey suit ).they allow 2 hours for eat but they served all the food that we ordered in 20minutes and 2 times the waiter changed the plates before we were finished to eat. Music was very loud was hard to having a nice conversation. No one from the staff was smiling and making you fell welcome.I was suppose to have a special and romantic night with my Gf we ended to have something average with an high bill. I will never going there anymore."

  • "great venue, original, super good food but it's too expensive related to the portion (4 super slim slice of fish for 13£)... that's not really great value for money, ok it's good food but it's a bargain to ask 13£ for that. you can go there 1 time in your life and that's it.. you pay 90£ for 2 and then you are still very hungry. it was a great experience but not sure i want to come back again."

  • "Ab lovely venue and great service. Perfect for lunch - portions are small so not for the hungry."

  • "We picked the perfect day to go to SS. The sun was shining and we sat on the terrace. Our waiter was very cheerful and nice. A Frenchie:-) Fresh drinks and food were amazing."

  • "I took my partner for his 21st. In pre booking option I mentioned this and asked about suggestions to make it a more memorable evening, none received. The service was ok but expected more from the initial waiter, he said he would explain the menu but just read it to us... The food itself was very nice the Peruvian steak especially. We tried a number"

  • "The view was amazing and good ambience. Service by waiter was slow and didn't deliver the menu option well. Food was nice, deserts and wine also lovely."

  • "It's hard to think of anything wrong or bad to say about Sushi Samba. So some of the good parts.. All the staff have nice attitudes, very friendly and very helpful.. The atmosphere is brilliant and you get a nice vibe.. The views are amazing.. We tried dishes based on suggestions from the staff and they were on point every time.. Thinking back about it makes me realise more just how great everything about it was.."

  • "A combination of food from Japan, Brazil and Peru makes Sushisamba a great place for foodies. Add the high speed scenic lift, the spectacular views from the 38th Floor of Heron Tower, the beautiful bars inside and outdoors and the proximity to Liverpool Street Station, and you have an almost perfect setting for any occasion. The only downside for me was the fact that on a glorious hot summer's day, the fantastic outside terrace eating area had absolutely no shade,. So except for those not worried about sun damage to their skin, it was a no go area, which was a shame. Try the Samba Rolls - exquisite, and the Wagyu Beef served raw for you to quickly cook on hot stones. Yummy!!!"

  • "The view is absolutely stunning. Food is tasty and innovative!!! worth trying"

  • "Food was very good, service in the bar very slow and drinks very expensive. The views are nice but not amazing - the sunset was blocked by large piece of machinery. A treat but will not be returning."
    dined on 13/07/2014
  • "We went for dinner to celebrate our engagement a week earlier and were treated to a lively evening replete with stunning sunset (our table had fantastic views especially on such a clear night) and samba dancers who invaded the restaurant twice during the evening to mark the world cup final which was taking place; it added to the atmosphere on a truly memorable occasion. Our waiter was friendly and competent, as were the front of house staff. The cocktails were delicious and food was excellent; the wagyu beef gyoza are unmissable and all dishes lived up to the fusion element suggested by the name. We would definitely go back, although perhaps only for special occasions given our sizeable bill..."

  • "Amazing food. Flavours were stunning. Cocktails brilliant. Service was very good, waiter friendly and knowledgable. And to top off our evening samba dancers performed to drummers to celebrate the World Cup. Great restaurant, would dine there."

  • "Great food, amazing environment. Definitely a treat given the price."

  • "A fantastic location with a quirky menu providing Sushi with an amazing south American twist, and it works. The location is cool with amazing views over London to enjoy as you wine and dine."
    dined on 12/07/2014
  • "The menu was both interesting and somewhat confusing and when our waiter began his explanation it was quite longwinded an became slightly overwhelming. That said he was helpful and courteous. Quite some time passes and we asked (another waiter) if we could order a drink after which he took our food order. My wife then heard our original waiter say to another table that he was finished for the day. At two other occasions we had to seek assistance from different members of staff because neither of the people who has served our table had come back to us even though menus were on our table. We are not demanding people but when you are paying almost double what a good meal in London normally costs I would expect much better service."

  • "I was recommended to go to this restaurant by a friend because of the ambience, but he said the food wasn´t much better than other japanese restaruants. I have to say I disappoint as we had a lovely lunch and foof was really good. I recommend it to anyone.Athougt It´s not the best for people afraid from height!!!!!"

  • "Having a cocktail outside on the 38th floor whilst the sun is shining was a great experience followed by fabulous food. Expensive and so not great value but would still thoroughly recommend Sushisamba for the whole dining experience."

  • "The food was excellent. Seamless fusion of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian food. Top notch taste yet relaxed setting. Very attentive service. Great views of London."

  • "Been to sushi samba several times and food was as good as every other time. However was disappointed with service this time. Our waiter was very distracted, didn't seem bothered and was not as nice as some of the other staff...."

  • "Booked sushi samba 5 weeks ago for my husbands birthday and was definitely worth the wait! We requested a table near the window and got a spectacular view of London. Our waiter Pablo was do friendly, all the staff were polite and welcoming. As well as the amazing views the food was delicious! It's expensive but worth it. The whole atmosphere was buzzing. Definitely a great place for a celebration."
    dined on 11/07/2014
  • "Service at the bar was excellent. Food was flavourful and memorable. Service during dinner was really good and knowledgeable about the menu. I liked that the menu was not over complicated and what was on offer was well prepared and presented. I also appreciated that we were not on a time limit to eat because if it had been then it would have definitely soured the dining experience."

  • "Sushisamba has it all. Interesting and tasty food well presented, attentive and engaging staff and of course the position at 38 floors above the City. Only downside is some of the prices but then you cannot have it all. Good for all occasions and well worth a visit. I'll be back"
    dined on 09/07/2014
  • "amazing food, amazing view, amazing service. my only negative comment was the freezing air conditioning by the windows - totally worth it for the view though. The bill was not what i expected. We received 9 plates and 4 cocktails for under 200 GBP, you cant get that value for $400 AUD."
    dined on 08/07/2014
  • "This place was worth the wait even though I had to book a month in advance for a table for 2 for dinner. The set up is just the right mix of upscale yet chic casual. Not uptight like few other Michelin starred restaurants. The food was heavenly. Loved the El Topo nigiri it was such a great twist to the good old salmon sushi. the scallop seviche was great too! Most dishes had the nice fusion taste of Brazilian and Japanese flavours. The cocktails, though expensive, are very unique and innovative. Liked the Brazilian saketini. Desert we tried was great as well.. Love from Rio ... A perfect chocolaty ending to a beautiful meal. Prices are bit steep, but then most of it is just taxes!"

  • "My friend suggested lunch at sushi samba after a meeting in the Heron Tower. We had one of the best meals I've had in the City. The black cod was perfect, and every dish was exceptional. The service was friendly and professional. The advice was excellent. Not a place to go if your budget is limited, but your meal will be worth the price."
    dined on 08/07/2014
  • "Amazing food and amazing service. The music played was quite loud which was a bit off putting in comparison to the amazing views. Highly recommend it to anyone."
    dined on 07/07/2014
  • "Nice View / Good Food / Very expensive for the quality. Why do they not add the service charge in to the price of the food. Adding 12.5% on the bill at the end is so frustrating."
    dined on 07/07/2014
  • "Have been once before for brunch, and have sought to book a table several times for special occasions. As there was never availability on short notice I decided one day that I would just book the next free weekend I could find, and just going here would be the special occasion. It lived up to expectations. The staff were very welcoming, attentive, and friendly, as well as very informative on the menu and how best to approach the food to make the most of our experience. Every dish was delicious, and presented beautifully. When it comes to the desserts though they go beyond presentation to culinary art - both in form and taste. Was well worth the wait!"

  • "Lovely meal with my parents. We had five smaller dishes with one main and then shared two desserts. All very interesting, very enjoyable food and it was well priced considering the service and location. Would really recommend the black cod."
