A word from The Butchershop Bar & Grill
The Butchershop Bar and Grill is one of Glasgow's most fashionable dining and drinking spots. With its stunning backdrop – Glasgow University and Kelvingrove Art Gallery as its majestic neighbours – The Butchershop, based in the heart of the west end of the city, offers a very modern experience based on the good old fashioned steakhouse and cocktail bar concept.
The contemporary interior of The Butchershop has a Manhattan-loft feel; all exposed brickwork and clean lines with old meeting the very new, creating the ideal setting in which to enjoy the rather fabulous signature cocktail list with favourites such as the Ratpack Manhattan and the Champagne Daisy, before settling in to the grill menu. Here the best 21-28 day- dry aged Scottish beef is served, butchered in-house by our chefs with a fabulous selection of equally good supporting acts including Loch Fyne oysters, fresh fish specials, braised lamb shanks and daily vegetarian options and much, much more...........

  • "Went for dinner and was very impressed by the service and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Steak was very good, possibly the tastiest steak ever. Only downside is it was a bit expensive but quality was exceptional and justifies the price."

  • "The service in this restaurant is second to none. We opted for the pre-theatre but spent much more on the wine! Food was really good. I would definitely go back."

  • "I have visited this restaurant before, as always food and wine choice did not disappoint. The tomahawk deal(a great 1.2k on bone ribeye) with bottle of wine was absolutely wonderful, only thing that could do with a little improvement is bar mans attitude.... Smile you work in a fab bar serving great food, he was boarding rude which let down an otherwise very efficient, knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff"

  • "Carnavore heaven. The food was produced in style with steaks to die for. Waiters/waitresses very attentive. The price is not for the faint hearted, but I think its reasonable to say that you get what you pay for."

  • "Dined here on friday for the first time after hubby wishing to go to a steak house. We were certainly not disappointed. Staff were very attentive and professional and knew their food & wine. Even after picking the pre theatre deal, we still had our most expensive meal after adding on various items but it was all worth it. When we win some lottery money, we will be back ! lol"

  • "Recently dined at The Butchershop Bar & Grill and would definitely recommend it if, for no other reason, the outstanding level of service. The staff were exceedingly helpful, friendly and attentive (but not to the extent that you don't get a moments peace!) The food was great too, apart from one of our starter dishes that was a touch over-seasoned - at least to my unrefined tastebuds. We dined on the pre-theatre menu which was well priced. Drinks added quite a bit to the bill, though that's to be expected wherever you dine in Glasgow. Worth a visit for the great service alone."

  • "This restaurant is nice but we ordered drinks then took the Tuesday night meal which came with a bottle of wine so felt they could have pointed that out before I ordered the glass of wine. Food was good, although I am not a fan of skinny fries; prefer hand cut chips but that is just me. Felt they came out of a freezer bag but steak was good. . It is much noiser than I thought it would be but the atmosphere was good."

  • "From the moment we entered the restaurant we were made welcome. The staff were friendly and attentive and there were no delays in being served. We had the parsnip soup followed by the steak which was cooked exactly as we asked it to be (rare to medium) which some restaurants have trouble managing! We would definitely go back when we are next in Glasgow and would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the city."

  • "Mt partner and I absolutely love The Butchershop and cannot fault it. We have never had a better steak and swear by it for special occasions. I rave about The Butchershop to my friends, as does my partner. Outstanding."

  • "Had a lovely lunch here on Saturday, food, service great as always. One thing that did annoy me slightly is that when it came to our round of drinks, 2 from our table asked for Southern Comfort & lemonade, when all the drinks came it was clear by taste that one of the drinks was not Southern comfort, we asked the server who said "I'm sure it is I will just check" but didn't return to confirm. We then asked the server to get another Southern Comfort, when she returned she said "oh, looks like you two got the last from the bottle, maybe that why there is a funny taste" It is obvious that instead of coming back the first time to say there was only enough for one, they poured a still unknown spirit into one. Poor show, it was only 13:00 too!"

  • "A truly fantastic experience to The Butchershop. From the very first welcome, staff were so attentive, courteous and professional. The interior is immaculate, more importantly the food was truly exceptional."

  • "The restaurant was recommended to us by our son. We arrived on time for lunch and was immediately impressed by the welcome from staff. At the table young man John Paul was efficient, knowledgeable and a pleasure to have him in attendance. The food and wine was of a high quality and was a forerunner to a pleasurable day in Glasgow culminating in a visit to the Lawn Bowls Final at Kelvingrove Park."

  • "We had fabulous meal at the Butchershop. We were an hour early than our original booking but they managed to find us a table. We both had the ribeye for mains and it was cooked to perfection and had so much flavour. The starters and desserts were also lovely. The staff were friendly and very attentive. We would definitely recommend The Butchershop to friends and family when they visit Glasgow."

  • "We planned this visit as part of our trip to Glasgow (Commonwealth Games). After a morning of Rugby 7's and a long walk from Ibrox Park we arrived early which, although very busy, was not a problem. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, offered us a table for drinks and to look at the menu. I found the menu options available more than adequate with some interesting combinations. I had the soft shell crab accompanied by the most delightful salad of seaweed, rice noodles and wasabi mayonnaise. My steak topped with a generous portion of bone marrow, was cooked just how I had asked for. We took a time to decide on deserts, a decision we were not being rushed over by the attentive staff, eventually deciding it would be too much. Excellent!"

  • "I visited this restaurant during the Commonwealth Games, amid a number of disappointments in Glasgow generally. Everything until lunch had been a tale of incompetence, poor organisation and misinformation. I am pleased to say Butchershop bucked the trend entirely and was a wholly positive experience. We visited for Sunday lunch rather than steak, but I was generally very impressed. The meat and trimmings were excellent, ambience fine, service very good and wine list more than one had a right to expect. The restaurant was opposite the Kelvingrove Park in a trendy area. The decor tended to match the area generally, and I would say the restaurant generally very good and well priced."

  • "Superb steak served by attentive friendly staff in comfortable surroundings! What more could you ask for!"

  • "Originally we were going for the pre-theatre meal;which was excellent value for money, however we opted for a la carte. The service was amazing and the food was even better!! Would recommend the oysters and the chateaubriand -delicious!!The location was lovely and helped by the buzz of the commonwealth games. Will be back and have recommended to friends and family."

  • "Butchershop is my favourite place to eat in Glasgow! The venue is lovely and the staff are really nice and welcoming. The food is exceptional! My partner always gets the T-bone steak and it is cooked to perfection. The menu maybe pricier than other places but the food is definitely worth every penny."
    dined on 25/07/2014
  • "I had booked The Butcher Shop following a recommendation from a friend. We were not disappointed, after a great day at the Commonwealth Games my family and I had a lovely meal. The kids options especially were just the right amount and they scoffed the lot - will definitely be back!"

  • "Been many times before but don't think I will return as service was very poor, took over three hours for three courses , had to go for a shave before rushing to next appointment"

  • "The Butchershop bar and Grill is a fantastic restaurant, their environment is comfortable, service is excellent and the food, especially the sunday roast is a must try, definitely good in value and will pay another visit in some day. We don't wait too long for our food, approximately 20minutes waiting time, which is reasonable for good quality food, the staff are friendly too!"
    dined on 20/07/2014
  • "Went here for dinner table booked for 6pm for 6 guest three had fillet steaks which were very nice the other three had Cote de boeuf which was very fatty and they did not enjoy and at £31.95 you would expect better, I also feel that the 10% service charge is quite steep that added on just over £33.00 extra to our bill."
    dined on 19/07/2014
  • "Food was fantastically cooked, cannot fault it one bit. Will definitiely be going back soon."
