A word from The Butchershop Bar & Grill
The Butchershop Bar and Grill is one of Glasgow's most fashionable dining and drinking spots. With its stunning backdrop – Glasgow University and Kelvingrove Art Gallery as its majestic neighbours – The Butchershop, based in the heart of the west end of the city, offers a very modern experience based on the good old fashioned steakhouse and cocktail bar concept.
The contemporary interior of The Butchershop has a Manhattan-loft feel; all exposed brickwork and clean lines with old meeting the very new, creating the ideal setting in which to enjoy the rather fabulous signature cocktail list with favourites such as the Ratpack Manhattan and the Champagne Daisy, before settling in to the grill menu. Here the best 21-28 day- dry aged Scottish beef is served, butchered in-house by our chefs with a fabulous selection of equally good supporting acts including Loch Fyne oysters, fresh fish specials, braised lamb shanks and daily vegetarian options and much, much more...........

First time at this restaurant, decided to visit on a reccomendation from one of my daughters. Arrived and were greeted in very friendly manner and shown to our seats. Thev staff were very friendl, attentive and very knowledgible about the menu - specials where the beef came from etc. This added to the overall experience. fantastic touch when the fillet was brought to the table prior to being cooked agin added to the overall experience. When the food arrived it was fantastic - the fillet that I had was the best that I have tasted. The rest of the table were all of a similair opinion with there choices. If you haven't been then I would highly reccomend this restaurant - what a greta concept.

This meal was simply amazing! Everything really was exceptional! The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. The house wine was one of the best I've tasted, and the service was also superb. Meals served with a smile which makes all the difference and made me feel welcome. Delighted to have found this place, I look forward to the opportunity to go back and fully would recommend it.

The crab and tiger prawn starter was very disappointing, I wished the chef had made the effort to taste his seafood sauce before serving this dish up ! The main course of rib eye steak with 'hand cut' chips consisted of a pat of frozen garlic & herb butter which failed to make a seasoned steak ut the meat itself was tender enough. The whole meal for me, lacked flavour. My companion's T-bone steak wasn't much better! We won't be going back to The Butchershop'!! The plus points were a pleasant atmosphere and cheery waiters.

We had a pleasant dinner sharing the chateaubriand. It was slightly disappointing and sinewy/hard to cut in places but the sides and desert were lovely. The parts of the meat that were tender were delicious. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and has a good ambiance. Service was initially excellent but after asking for some more time to study the desert menus we were then ignored for a long time despite sitting right in front of the bar. Overall, it was an expensive evening for a good, but not fabulous dinner. I would still give it another go though.

Lovely atmosphere and good service, the meat used for the steaks wasn't the best - very tough, chewy and quite fatty. One of the group had fillet and one had T-bone and both were in agreement regarding the poor quality of meat. The Chicken was lovely and can't be faulted.

If you are looking for some outstanding food and service then look no further that here. We all had steaks both fillet and sirloin and we all agreed they were the best that we had ever had. The side were just the same.. At the end of the meal all plates were empty. The food is expensive but the quality is there for all to appreciate.

The service and the cocktails in the butchershop are first class :) our food was great (soup wasn't as piping hot as I like but tasted so nice I didn't care - mint pea and ham) and my sirloin steak was cooked to perfection! The mash was lovely and the onion rings were huge!!! Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and experience and would recommend and will return :)

if your not eating steak for instance I got the fried sea bream, all I got was 4 small pieces of fish sitting on a spot of mashed potatoes no bigger than the size of a postage stamp, I left the restaurant as hungry as I was when I went in. there were 4 of us the other 3 had steak and they all enjoyed it, I paid the bill £160.00 I will never order the fish again, not value for money at £16.00

Fantastic service, Amazing food, Wonderful ambiance. This was my third visit and have booked for my husband birthday meal. Steaks are so beautiful, moist and melts like butter and the flavour it rounded and succulent. The burgers are huge and so juicy served on sweet and buttery brioche. Great choice of toppings. The cocktails are hard to beat. Not like a lot of overly sweet you get everywhere now, but layer with fresh flavours and spice which doesn't over power the flavour of the spirits. Like i have mentioned before I will be dinning here again and I am looking forward to it already.

The food here is simply outstanding! Having dined here before quite a few times and having only excellent experiences, we were a little disappointed with the service from our servers. Our booking was at 9.45 and upon arriving were immediately told the kitchen shuts at 10.30. Immediately we were given the impression that we would need to order and eat fast. Not good customer service in my book. For a cheque that came to over £180 at the end of the night, the service could have been a lot better. A shame that such excellent and quality food is let down by the servers. The Butchershop has always been a 5 star restaurant in my opinion until this experience, one star off for the customer service.

I have visited this restaurant before, as always food and wine choice did not disappoint. The tomahawk deal(a great 1.2k on bone ribeye) with bottle of wine was absolutely wonderful, only thing that could do with a little improvement is bar mans attitude.... Smile you work in a fab bar serving great food, he was boarding rude which let down an otherwise very efficient, knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff

Recently dined at The Butchershop Bar & Grill and would definitely recommend it if, for no other reason, the outstanding level of service. The staff were exceedingly helpful, friendly and attentive (but not to the extent that you don't get a moments peace!) The food was great too, apart from one of our starter dishes that was a touch over-seasoned - at least to my unrefined tastebuds. We dined on the pre-theatre menu which was well priced. Drinks added quite a bit to the bill, though that's to be expected wherever you dine in Glasgow. Worth a visit for the great service alone.

This restaurant is nice but we ordered drinks then took the Tuesday night meal which came with a bottle of wine so felt they could have pointed that out before I ordered the glass of wine. Food was good, although I am not a fan of skinny fries; prefer hand cut chips but that is just me. Felt they came out of a freezer bag but steak was good. . It is much noiser than I thought it would be but the atmosphere was good.

From the moment we entered the restaurant we were made welcome. The staff were friendly and attentive and there were no delays in being served. We had the parsnip soup followed by the steak which was cooked exactly as we asked it to be (rare to medium) which some restaurants have trouble managing! We would definitely go back when we are next in Glasgow and would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the city.
