Diner Reviews
  • "We had a booking for 10.30 pm, after going to see Miss Saigon. Our taxi was late and we didn't arrive until 10.45 pm. During the taxi ride we received a call from the restaurant to say if we didn't arrive in the next 10 minutes the kitchen would be closed. On arrival we were only able to order a main course from the A la carte menu, not the fixed price 2 or 3 course menu. This was very disappointing when we had been looking forward to having the full meal experience. If they can't serve a full meal at that time, they shouldn't have taken the booking. Although the food was excellent and the staff very welcoming and attentive, we felt let down and very rushed."

  • "It's a bit tricky to find as there is no clear signage outside but as soon as you enter you feel welcome by very attentive staff. Our waiter was friendly and caring without being too overbearing. The ambience is not too cozy, so wouldn't recommend it for a date. Food is excellent though, even for people who are not into Indian cuisine. Would definitely go there again, due to the prices unfortunately only for special occasions for me."

  • "Very good food in a charming environment. Friendly staff, but not highly experienced, in my view. Key conclusion - I will go again."

  • "Fantastic meal in such a lovely atmosphere but unfortunately the staff were slow and very inattentive which let the whole experience down. After we were seated we were not served for perhaps 10-15 minutes which is not what you expected at such expensive place. My partner did however think it was one of the best meals he'd ever had which did redeem the restaurant somewhat."

  • "Food options mainly seafood. Friendly staff. Atmosphere a little lacking until it gets busy. Great surroundings."

  • "The meal was outstanding. The service was one of the best experiences we had in London. All of the staff members were helpful and attentive. We will definitely dine there again."

  • "Took my Wife for a special birthday and it mett all of our expectations this restaurant is has a very discrete exterior in a quiet Westminster street which hides what surely is one of London's best curry houses. It is an old library. Double height main room (formerly a reading room) is light and airy. Everything is neat and tidy, service was really attentive but not over the top / smothering. Food was great - impossible to fault. Great choice of subtle and unusual dishes. And many thanks for my Wife`s Birthday treat a Cinnamon Bellini (excellent) & sweet dessert on the house. Well worth visiting and we will be returning."

  • "We dined at The Cinnamon Club last Saturday to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. The staff were wondering and especially made a fuss of my 9 year old niece. The food was excellent and the set menu is brilliant value. Topped off with a surprise pudding for with Happy Anniversary written on top. A delightful meal, will definitely be dining here again."

  • "We went here for luncheon on a hot weekend. The library was welcoming and cool for pre lunch drinks. The food was delicious, staff attentive. Thoroughly enjoyable experience . Would highly recommend, especially if you like spicy food."

  • "We have been meaning to try this restaurant for a long time. Iit was strongly recommended by a friend and thei eat-early set price offer was the ideal chance to go there. Bit quiet in the grand library surroundings when we arrived but the atmosphere built as others arrived. Sufficient choice from the set menu which we both enjoyed, and the wine recomendations were excellent."

  • "East European staff got order wrong, delivering wrong starter. No forks on the table, had to wait (food getting cold) far too long for staff to find some. Food good though."

  • "I took a party of 7 for a business meal and a good time was had by all. The food was extremely enjoyable and the service was very efficient throughout the evening with them ensuring that at no points in the evening were glasses left empty."

  • "Really chuffed with the service, I had asked them if they could do something subtle to mark my girlfriend's birthday, and they surprised her by bringing over a nice glass of sparkling wine and a delightful little birthday moose, so classy, and beyond what I'd expected. Great restaurant, thank you!"

  • "Great imaginative food and attentive but not obsequious service"

  • "Bit of a shaky start - I had booked via Open Table and had booked the offer of the set menu with a cocktail. This didn't seem to be known about, and I felt a bit embarrassed having to ask. The service was very attentive throughout, but we did feel a little rushed at times. I had mentioned it was my partner's birthday and it was a lovely touch to bring up a special birthday dessert and glass of champagne for the birthday boy.. I did think though that £4 for the chutneys (as beautiful as they were) was extortionate, when these are usually complimentary. The food was all that we expected - fabulous. We've been to Cinnamon Soho recently, and I have to say that I think I preferred it there; Cimmanon Club was a little 'stuffy'"

  • "Tried the tasting menu, which covered a lot of flavours and a lot of ground, but unfortunately did not seem to have the same "wow" factor as some other michelin-starred restaurants. Would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area as the surroundings & service are excellent. A very relaxing "top-class" place."

  • "Food was fantastic. Location superb. Service in resturant was quick and efficient, but perhaps a little abrupt. Only issue we had was the cocktail bar downstairs. Our drink never cane. Waited 20 mins. Cocktail maker seemed all over the place. A bad start to what ended up as a great meal. The bar is not with it. Lacks atmosphere."

  • "Booked "The Cinnamon Club" for my Mothers in Law 70th Birthday, and we could not have chosen a better place to celebrate an event."

  • "Excellent food and service for Saturday Lunch. One caution that Extras including 12.5% service doubled advertised price of set lunch - and we only had a small carafe of wine and water to drink. Check price before accepting offers. Would prefer to have fully advertised price or decide myself if service worth tipping."

  • "This is the second time I've been to Cinnamon Club and it never fails to impress. The service was simply wonderful - attentive, fun, friendly - and the food and wine was amazing."

  • "I went to the cinnamon club for dinner with a friend on a friday night. We arrived at 6pm and were the first diners in the place. The 2 courses for £24 offer was excellent value. I was also impressed that the restaurant was able to offer a mocktail instead of the usual cocktail that came with the deal. The restaurant filled relatively quickly, so the atmosphere was good. The service was excellent and the food was both beautifully presented and wonderfully cooked. This is usually a bit of a pricey option, so I woudl definitely recommend keeping an eye out for a deal like this."

  • "Had dinner here on Thursday 3rd July with spouse and two old frineds from far afield. We opted for the 7 course taster menu and wine accompaniament which was expensive but great to experience the culinary creativity and mostly well matched wines. The prawns, sea bass and pigeon breast were excellent, delicate and subtle and the venison at the end, still being very good but appeared somewhat over spiced in comparison to the preceding courses. Wine selection was quite intuitive with just one mis fire for our palates, and it would have been useful to have been provided with more information about the wines we were served. Service was excellent, ambience was great being in an old library and we certainly felt like we had been treated."

  • "This place is great for a business soiree - the perfect mix of a corporate-friendly restaurant with personality. The different rooms are beautifully decorated and perfect for pre-meal drinks. Pigeon starter and red deer main were plentiful and an explosion of flavour in the mouth."

  • "I booked the restaurant for my boyfriends birthday. Its been on our list of places to visit for a while now and I can say that it met all of our expectations and more, we had a great evening. The food was delicious, service was very friendly and the ambience was very relaxing. All of that topped off by a very interesting menu to choose from. We will visit again for the set lunch menu very soon. Couldn't recommend this place enough, thumbs up!!"

  • "My wife and I had a very disappointing meal at this restaurant. The restaurant has a lack of ambience, not helped by the fact that tables are wedged into every last inch of space so that waiters serving the next table regularly jostle you as you eat. Service was no more than fair as we had to regularly remind our waiter to serve wine etc and eventually gave up on desert after being ignored for too long and asked for the bill."

  • "Interesting setting in an panelled, quiet room that was once a Westminster Library.A short walk from Big Ben and tastfully converted to give a feel of an old sophiticated London Club. Service was impeccable notably without any Indian waiters, and not the usual reminders of Bangladesh or India at all, which relects an anglicised , perhaps colonial feel. Wine menu was carefully chosen, and the food was interesting, diverse and colourful using fresh spices to really enhance taste, as one would expect from Vivek Singh. Shall return......"

  • "My parents and I came here 2 years ago and we were very impressed. This time we came back to have lunch again and it doesn't disappoint. Fantastic service and food. Must try the bread. All main courses were fantastic and the steak was a very pleasant surprise."

  • "Having lunch at the Cinnamon club on a saturday was a very pleasant experience. Arriving 10 minutes late i wasnt hurried to my table, instead i was told that i could relax in the bar and come at my own leisure. The food was really good indeed, every table got complimentary starters in addition to their meal, The fish starter was very nicely balanced with flavour, the jungle curry main was really delicious - not too spicy and was very tasty indeed. The wine is expensive however for the environment and location you would expect that but we were given great assistance from the Jolanda - the floor manager who was very pleasant and charming who helps us enprmpusly with making this a great experience. Definately worth another visit"

  • "I thought that this place was over the top expensive for what it was - the food is pretty good but some of the main courses are gbp35 each for what is a good but not amazing meal The place has a nice decour but very formal / stuffy, lots of older men in business suits I took people from out of town and regretted the decision"

  • "I have been to both this restaurant and the sister restaurant several times and always enjoy the food. However the restaurants are noisy when full and the service can be a bit hit and miss. Both restaurants are over priced probably because of their locations but the food is always good quality."

  • "We had the fixed menu which also has a selection of sides, breads etc available (extra). There were 3 options for each course including a veggie option. Between us we tried all the starters and mains and all were excellent, as were the sides ordered (breads, black lentils). The deserts looked delicious - we all had the sorbet selection which was beautifully presented - and the carrot and ginger sorbet was a first for me bit but was lovely. The fixed menu included a cocktail and we also ordered from the extensive wine list - the wine also being good. The service was professional, efficient and unobtrusive. All in all we had a great evening and would be happy to recommend."

  • "We visited The Cinnamon Club yet again, this time taking advantage of their after 9:30pm set menu. Three courses for £24 plus a complementary cocktail - a stonking great value. The set menu had three choices for each course and, as usual, the quality of the food was excellent. The service is always exceptional - professional, polite, informed, and genuine. The staff really know how to make you feel special and a meal at The Cinnamon Club always feels like a treat."

  • "Apart from the cocktails and the bar area I was really disappointed with every aspect. Dining room was boring with fake(?) brown leather wall coverings, staff were too busy to attend well and the food was only ok. The rice which would challenge Uncle Ben's for mediocrity. And that is before mentioning the price! Way too expensive. I would rather have gone to local curry shop. ."
    dined on 21/06/2014
  • "We went for the pre theatre menu. The food was tasty, service was good although the food was served quickly . The orange delight cocktail was really good too. The lamb was tender and tasty. Wine a little expensive but overall a good meal."

  • "This is the 2nd time I was there and the food is good, the service and friendliness of the waiters outstanding. A treat."

  • "We had been interested in visiting the Cinamon Club for some time. So our visit was something of an anticlimax and the food really didnt live up to expectations. We have eaten better at Moti Mahal and other places. The service was fine and friendly but not special for a restuarant this pricey."
    dined on 14/06/2014
  • "We had the tasting menu which offered a wide range of fish and meat to try. All the dishes had wonderfully subtle flavours, lightly spiced and perfectly cooked. A wonderful experience."
    dined on 14/06/2014
  • "We had the tasting menu with wine. Each course was genuinely excellent. Subtle flavours, enhancing first class ingredients. Even the chickpea gnocchi was a treat. The service was friendly, but attentative and reassuringly unpretentious. And there was a really good buzz on the Thursday night we visited. It is worth remembering the price for three, including tip, was over £400. So not cheap, but you didn't feel cheated at the end of meal and I would strongly recommend a visit."

  • "We chose the Cinnamon Club for a business dinner. Welcoming, efficient, excellent service, great choice of food on the OpenTable only menu and they did not skimp on the "offer includes" extras (had the offer not been available, we would have happily paid for the A La Carte menu though the offer was a good reason to book it in the first place). NB: We did have to remind them we were an opentable booking otherwise we would have been given a heftier menu. A full house on the night we went, a smartish environment for entertaining (still retaining many of the original Westminster Library interior features). A good venue for upbeat entertaining. Exceptional staff at a great price. Many thanks."

  • "Our Silver Anniversary treat... slow, dismissive service in the bar, an 8.30pm table that wasn't available until just before 9pm and next to a large table that wasn't cleared during our meal; warm bottled water, a poor, yet overpriced wine list. However, the food itself was okay, but not fine dining. The waiting staff seemed too busy or distracted. Overall, not the best experience."
