Faultless service, great ambiance, beautiful complimentary dishes and starters and a wonderful desert. The disappointment was the main courses two fish pies which although served with a lovely hard egg with runny yolk were strangely tasteless as was my wagyu burger with lobster which also lacked flavor. We will not be put off this is a great venue and very well run, perhaps our expectations were running a little to high.

From start to finish our whole dinning experience was faultless. The welcome, the atmosphere, the staff, the food and the bill. We had a wonderful evening and couldn't have hoped for more. I would highly recommend the feathered nest for that special occasion or really romantic evening, although i hear it's good for a late drink in the evening too.

This was our first visit. I had booked on the recommendation of a friend, for my husbands birthday and it far exceeded expectation. Could not fault the whole experience. From start to finish the service, food and ambience was excellent plus there are stunning views across the open countryside. They have there own lager brewed in Holland which is light and refreshing and went great with the meal which for me as a none wine drinker was a real bonus. The flavours in all of our dishes worked perfectly, and the Brie served with vanilla ice-cream is a 'must have'.

  • The ultimate gastro pub

It's hard, even in the North Cotswolds where gastro pubs are in every other village, to find such good cuisine. The current autumn menu has more interesting dishes than most restaurants and we found the cooking to be excellent. The ambience inside is very pleasing and on a fine, warm day the view from the outside tables is superb. The service on both our recent visits was good and there was nothing in our experience for even a critical diner to complain about - except to comment that this quality does not come cheap.

We had wonderful Sunday lunch on a glorious sunny day in late September. The staff were happy to supply us with coffees whilst we lingered for 2 hours afterwards on the comfortable outdoor sofas enjoying what must be one of the best views in the Cotswolds .We can't wait to return.

We are Belgian ... There was no room in the parking lot and we do not have immediately found the restaurant. We were very badly received by the restaurant manager who pointed out that we had a quarter of an hour late ... Fortunately, a charming manager (french woman) came to take our order and helped us for the menu ... meal was delicious and the restaurant is very nice...

The position in the small Cotswold village is delightful, with stunning views across the unspoilt valley. The welcome was friendly, service excellent and staff knowledge of food and wine impressive. Their understanding of the requirements of my husbands Coeliac condition, (vital all was gluten free) filled us with confidence. The food and wines were superb. Perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and with delicious combinations. We had the pate and cod cheek starters and the lamb and grouse mains. Coffee on the terrace enjoying the lovely peaceful view. Even the birthday platter of sweets included a delicious Damson jelly petit four, made from the damsons in their own garden. A most memorable day Thank you.

Went out for a drive and ended up at this charming village pub, set in lovely gardens. Luckily we booked online as several people were turned away disappointed when they just turned up. The menu is not extensive but should have something to cover everyone's taste. However, whilst the mains are not too bad at around £15-28 starters are very expensive with many the same price as the mains. I had veal capatcio which was £14, nice but seemed expensive for what it was. Deserts are also expensive with a mainly ice cream dish being £9. However, saying that the food was delicious and well cooked/presente and staff very friendly, so will go again. We have a dog and she was also made to feel welcome in the main bar with her own water bowl.

Having lived in the Cotswolds for almost a year now and have eaten at many high quality pubs however, The Feathered Nest, tops the lot. From pulling into the car park and seeing the amazing views, you know you're somewhere special. The welcome couldn't have been warmer and the decor perfectly befitting. We had drinks in the bar first, with a selection of complimentary canapés whilst we perused the menu and comprehensive wine list. The meal was outstanding, we have been lucky to eat in high end restaurants around the world and I'm not exaggerating the quality of this one. The menu is not cheap but you get what you pay for and in this case, that is food, wine, service and ambience that can't fail to be recognised by a Michelin star very soon.

This place is crazy.  I've been to many pubs and restaurants, searching for a great roast dinner, many just don't cut it.  This place absolutely nails it. Not only is the food superb (we had the suckling pig) but the views are epic, the service is outstanding and the dessert menu is crazy.  If you are visiting the Cotswolds area, stop here for Sunday lunch. Seriously, and I don't say this lightly, it is amazing.

We stayed for Friday and Saturday night and wished it was longer. The service was outstanding, the food was the worthy of Michelin stars and the room was so relaxing and comfortable. Any request was no trouble and hence Service rated as outstanding. My partner enjoyed the food so much she had exactly the same both nights. The decor of the room was a very nice balance and the bathroom was one that you would wish in your own house. We stayed in the Dovecote room at the top of the building, the views across the valley will make anyone want to move to the Cotswolds. Vegetarian food options are superb, especially the courgette flower.

This place knows exactly what it's good at and it executes confidently and with precision. The setting is beautiful in its own right and the place itself is presented to a standard that matches that. The very best thing is the outstanding level of warmth and service, which makes every experience a real pleasure. The cooking is good and sometimes surprising. A pub like this needs to balance a very difficult set of expectations between good pub food (e.g: fish & chips) and fine dining (e.g: a plate of spring lamb done three ways)and by and large it gets it right. My only challenge is its price point which is right at the top of the range in which you'd expect it to be. As long as you're aware of that it remains good value.

Food was outstanding and lovely location . Service was a bit erratic. If restaurants are seeking to aspire to top end food and prices then more attention to service needs to be given. Eg. Waitress needed to be prompted for coats and was unresponsive when we asked after the children's desserts which we had been waiting a while for.

Mixed feelings and not really enough space to review properly. Pros: food excellent and very beautifully presented, extensive wine and bin-end lists, knowledgeable and professional staff, beautiful surroundings. Cons: very impersonal feel, definitely not a 'country inn', brutal booking system. We felt it may have got a little big for its boots but perhaps that is the demand in this area. We live in London and were looking specifically for a country pub with exceptional food. This is a London restaurant in the middle of the countryside.
