A word from The Hinds Head - Bray
We’re located in a listed 15th-century building nestled in the heart of the pretty village of Bray, near Maidenhead in Berkshire. Our ambience is that of a local village pub, offering you a warm welcome, exceptional, friendly service and outstanding food.
Our restaurant menus offer a combination of traditional seasonal cuisine and historic British dishes, all designed by our owner, chef Heston Blumenthal. Heston's quest for excellence in taste and flavour is combined with Head Chef Kevin Love's respect and love of fresh seasonal produce, to create a menu of British favourites in harmony with the building's Tudor origins.
Our bar area is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a light snack, accompanied by locally sourced guest ales and a carefully selected wine list.

The evening didn't start well as we were given a badly positioned table for two squashed in close proximity to a table reserved for a large party. We would have needed to move every time they needed to move, and it would have been very noisy. After having been told there was no alternative table we were eventually able to move having asked a second time. After that the evening was excellent. Food and service excellent.

Food was great as always but for some reason the service felt like we were in a game show for new recruits? Lots of weirdness like bringing the drinks menu but not asking us what we wanted till half way through the starters? Then leaving the menus on the table (in the way) until eating desert. We also had a total of 6 different people serving us ... Not the usual slick operation on this occasion.

A party of four, we had a most enjoyable evening at the Hinds Head, Bray. The food was delicious, sevice was very good without being intrusive, and the wine selection offered a fair amount of choices. We ended our meal by sampling a new golden grappa, not yet on the menu, which was perfect as a digestif.

The Hinds Head was an absolute delight from start to finish - the bar attendees were brilliant, the range of drinks and knowledge were second to none, the food was amazing, the flavours in all the food we had was divine, the quality was excellent, the service was brilliant and the waiter/waitresses had a lot of knowledge of each dish. I would definitely go back to the Hinds Head as soon as possible, excellent value for money, great choice on menu, would definitely recommend the hash of snails and the oxtail and kidney pudding, absolutely delicious.

Me and my partner both had 3 course at the hinds head! The service was excellent and the food was some of the best id eaten. The only downside was my partner had the wine slush and millionaire shortbread and it was very much on the small side for the price. I had the warm chocolate pudding however and it was amazing although the ice cream probably wasn't to my taste! I also had a sweet shop cocktail and it is the best cocktail I've ever had! definitley recommend if you find yourself there

Took a friend to the Hinds Head for her first Michelin dining experience as a treat for recent promotion. The pub has an olde worldy feel and an amazing selection of cocktails for a pre dinner drinks. Dinner menu is great - just enough choice but not overwhelming. The prices are as expected for Michelin and the food was exquisitely presented and tasted great (steak was a little more tough than expected but could have been the cut I chose). Service was good, everyone well informed and friendly but not as attentive as I expected to match the quality standard of the food. Was difficult to get attention when we were ready to have our order taken and more often than not we had to get attention for something we needed vs. being offered.

You pay for what you get, which is outstanding customer service allied to excellent food. The staff are all very knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. Don't go every week or you'll get spoiled but this was our third occasion in the last twelve months and it was as good as ever, although the table we had was in the back corner of the dining room and not great if you go for the ambience. Nevertheless, we will be back.

I have eaten at the Hinds Head several times and always enjoyed it, so much I had recommended to friends for their wedding anniversary which we all celebrated together. Unfortunately a complete let down... We all wanted roast beef- none left, if the restaurant knows how many bookings they have why don't they ensure there is enough? 3 of us had roast pork which was very fatty, of the two small pieces you are served only a quarter was meat and edible. One fillet steak dinner was indeed beautifully done. Two lovely desserts and a shared cheeseboard that surely was designed for a mouse. Overall a disappointing experience, I left hungry and we ate again at home soon after, not what you expect for £80 per head. Service ok nothing special

We enjoyed a super evening at The Hinds Head on Friday. The food was astonishing as always and the service impeccable. It's fast becoming our regular celebration venue. Looking forward to booking in for one of their tasting evenings without the children and with transport so we can both try wines that go with the food. The server recommended some lovely wine to compliment our food and the cocktails were fantastic too.

Great food but prices have gone up big time and the menu hasn't change since we started going about 18 months ago. As a regular and booking months in advance would have expected a better table. We were wedged up against a pillar and asked to be moved but got the impression it was too difficult for them. Nevertheless new diners will love it

We love the relaxed atmosphere and the equally adventurous food. Thought the starters and dessert were the most outstanding. Had alot of fun trying out the chocolate wine slush. It's a must try!. We were lucky that the triple cooked chips were back on the menu - they're fantastic parred with my fish with mussel broth. Heavenly. Looking forward to going back again! Next time we'll bring the sprog too- children's menu looks yummy!

Some excellent dishes - wife's starter of beetroot & goats curd & my pud which was Royal Trifle. Some average; both mains (Shepherds Pie & Mushroom Macaroni). If you've had the Waitrose Heston Shepherds Pie then you've had this one! We actually visited using a Virgin voucher, without which the expense would have been a bit on the high side , particularly the "house" wine by the glass!!

It was pouring with rain but our day was made extremely special by having a wonderful lunch at the Hind's Head Bray. We arrived early and were lucky to have been allocated a wonderful table which was an added bonus as it was a meal to celebrate my husbands birthday. The service was good with friendly and attentive staff. The food was beautifully presented and the flavour combinations on many if our dishes were wonderful. We felt although service charges are the usual 12.5% the meal still represented very good value for money on the dishes selected. I can't wait to go back.

I recently went to the hinds heads for a traditional Sunday lunch, once sat and the waitress came to take our order we were only then told they have sold out of roast beef therefore had to choose quickly another main, it was no problem as all courses were amazing however the staff preferred to stand chatting rather than clear our dirty plates away for our next course so we ended up with a collection of dirty dishes, we never got asked if everything was ok, I was dying for a drink but never got asked and everytime I tried to get someone's attention they just looked away,I waited 25 for an expresso at the end and to be honest I was quite fed up of waiting by then, fantastic food but the front of house was a massive let down, prob never again

The food here is fantastic, set inside a cute old English pub and with great, friendly and helpful service! The oxtail and kidney pudding was the best - so rich, tasty and anything you'd ever wish for in a pub! The quaking pudding dessert so soo yummy. We also learnt a bit about food history, as is typical in a Heston Blumenthal establishment! Would definitely go back again.

I specifically booked dinner with my friends and husband to celebrate my birthday. The staff were exellent and the service was exceptional. The quality of the food was superb with fantastic flavours without being rich (I don't like rich food). The menu was varied enough to suit all tastes. More importantly, we came away feeling we had enough to eat so did not resent paying the quite high price for our meals. My husband mentioned it was my birthday as we were about to pamy our bill and I was given a card signed by the head chef and manager which was a nice touch. The pub was busy with a friendly atmosphere and I would definitely go again.
