Diner Reviews
  • "This is now our favorite London restaurant. The dishes were ambitious and complex, skillfully cooked and artfully presented. Excellent service. We will return."

  • "Heard lot's of good things about The Ledbury but often places like this can be over-hyped. However, the food was outstanding, possibly the best "fine dining" restaurant we've been to. The service was great too and the staff were really friendly and attentive. look forward to another visit."

  • "Took my 16 year old food mad son for a dad and lad special lunch to celebrate exam success. The dining room felt spacious, although we were at the later end of the lunchtime service, so a few tables were finishing and leaving. Waiting staff were friendly and attentive. Sad to say the sommelier didn't manage to tempt me but I had a nice bottle of beer ( not extortionate ) . We chose the set lunch and willing to try everything looked forward to being delighted. We were. No question. Canapés to start and some exquisite petite fours at the end topped and tailed a fantastic dining experience. Brett and his team left us very happy and you know what, yes it costs a bit, no surprise there, but it felt like really good value for money. "

  • "We were attracted by other good reviews of the restaurant and were not let down in terms of service or food. Everything was very well prepared and presented and tasted excellent. Service was friendly and of a very good standard. I would absolutely recommend The Ledbury as, despite the cost, it was worth every penny. "

  • "Truly delightful evening with friends celebrating my partner's birthday. Tasting menu was exceptional. Exquisite wine & champagne chosen with the assistance of the very charming Canadian sommelier. Service impeccable. Restaurant was relaxed and had a happy ambience. We are looking forward to a return visit soon!"

  • "We had a 4-course dinner & we brought along our 5-yr old. They were able to bring a turbot for the kid which was fantastic and priced reasonably for a kid's meal. I had the lamb for my main & it was excellent! Dessert was average. Wine selection was good. Service was excellent!!!!"

  • "By far my best experience in London so far. Just perfect."

  • "Good value set lunch but we went a la carte. Enjoyable food, well presented, wine list reasonably priced. Would go again."

  • "Special treat place as it is upper price band, but it delivers on all counts. Well separated tables in a spacious room makes a gracious dinning experience in which to enjoy the exceptional food. Pleasant waiting staff complement the refined atmosphere. Very nice indeed."

  • "The service was excellent, the food amazing. Thank you to the whole team for making our evening so special."

  • "perfect meal for special occasions albeit a bit pricey, couldn't fault it"

  • "The Ledbury doesn't disappoint. Ultra professional staff give you a warm welcome and the food is what one would expect of a two star establishment. The tasting menu is the perfect way to sample the full range of cooking skills and flavours and at £90 is pretty good value. It's perfectly judged in terms of quantity to make you feel contentedly full without being stuffed. Definitely a place for a special occasion meal - one of the best in London."

  • "I had the occasion to sample three 2-starred London restaurants over 3 separate days. The Ledbury was clearly the best of the bunch. Attentive, friendly staff Modern sophisticated food which is a delight visually and a joy to actually sample. The only negative in my case was the loud chattering from the next table which was not something any restaurant could control. Would be happy to return anytime !"

  • "We went to the Ledbury to celebrate my partners Birthday on Saturday The food was amazing and the whole tasting menu with wine paring was a gastronomic delight The staff were attentive and knowledgeable and made the meal one of our most memorable lunches"

  • "this is one of the most amazing meals and dining experiences we have ever had - totally amazing. The food is incredible, the service attentive, friendly and relaxed. A totally fabulous evening."

  • "We ate at the Ledbury for a special occasion on the recommendation of friends. The food was good, but when one of our guests, a sophisticated diner, exclaimed "It's tiny!!" when served the second course, there is a problem. Service was unfortunately poor. As one example, the empty wine glasses were never cleared from our table after dinner until we requested. Our waiter came to take our dessert orders, and one diner needed more time. The waiter said he would return, but never did. We corralled another waiter to take our orders for dessert and tea. These orders were lost. The evening grew very late and it was a struggle, but we finally managed to get our food. The evening left us feeling ignored and ripped off. We'll never return."

  • "The food was outstanding and so was the service. Because we were a big party we weren't in such a good location but the staff was amazing. I had my 6 month old baby for mother's day dinner and although they are child friendly, they don't have changing facilities. Actually the disabled toilet (where you'd normally have the changing facilities) serves as a cloak room which isn't ideal at all."

  • "Great restaurant, fantastic food and top quality service. Would definitely recommend to others for a lovely romantic evening. Oh and don't worry about the dress code, anything from jeans and a jumper to a suit seems to be the norm! One thing worth mentioning is there isn't a bar so I wouldn't arrive to early. Enjoy!"

  • "We had really looked forward to eat here. But maybe they are too busy? The waiters didnt seem dedicated. We waited quite a while before we were served and the food didnt have any special tastes that I could remember afterwards. The waiters mumbled fast what the food was - hard to understand what they said and no really contact to them - they seemed strangely uninterested. Exceptions was the sommelier who was really nice and very skilled and the head waiter (I think) who was also very nice. I found food and service better at the sister restaurant "The square" all though the decoration there is a bit outdated and much nicer at the Ledbury."

  • "We lunched at the Ledbury - a Christmas gift from one of our children. Amazing! We had the four course set lunch, added a glass of champagne each, a superb bottle of wine and a cheese course to share. Everything was outstanding. You are given three different amuse bouches and a couple of petit fours in addition to the menu. The food was clever! Flavours you wouldn't think of putting together and unusual ingredients. Service was outstanding and friendly, something you don't often come across in top notch restaurants where you can be made to feel uncomfortable sometimes. Water was also included in the cost. We would highly recommend The Ledbury and will certainly eat there again."

  • "Great: friendly and professional (yes, they are not exclusive) service, according to a comprehensive "carte" that gives you hints of the excellent food to come. A more than correct red syrah from (obviously) Australia gave the perfect tone to a luxurious menu. Would return tomorrow if we lived in London. Will have to wait until our next visit to England's capital"

  • "The food and service at The Ledbury was exceptional. The whole dinning experience was relaxed and not snobby. I thoroughly recommend The Ledbury."

  • "was exceptional!!! looking forward to our next visit."

  • "Amazing as this place is , I think they should have a few wine options that are a bit cheaper, even though it is fine dining on a grand scale the prices of the wine put the price of the all round experience in crazy territory for lots of people. Why not have a reasonable couple of house wines that means a set lunch and house wine means this amazing experience would be accessible to a whole load more people...... or does the Ledbury want to keep itself a top end luxury dining experience for the well off only ?"
    dined on 21/03/2014
  • "We were in London for 4 days and decided to try a few nice restaurants. The Ledbury was the at the end of our stay which turned out to be a good decision. Leave the best till last! From the moment we arrived it felt comfortable. Friendly, knowledgeable and passionate staff; a beautiful understated dining room with large windows and a nice light. Anna, the sommelier really knows wine and suggested a wine that perfectly suited what we were looking for. We chose the set menu and it was superb. At other restaurants we found food with too many flavours on the plate. Here there was perfectly prepared plates with more simple flavours that allowed the food to do the talking. I can see why they are considered one of the World's Top Restaurants."

  • "Returned here for my birthday for the first time in 5 years and were blown away once again by the overall experience. Great service, food and wine. Yes, you pay for it, but having been disappointed the night before at a well known new restaurant in Mayfair this more than made up for the mishaps we'd "enjoyed" there. Two of the four dishes we ordered were absolutely beautiful, the other two just very good. We were looked after like royalty - a memorable birthday occasion."

  • "Amazing food complimented by impeccable service. All the wait staff actually had conversations with us which was really sweet. Didn't have the uptight feeling of other fancy dining establishments.."

  • "Spectacular food, friendly, warm service, beautiful surroundings and wonderful wines, served by a great sommelier. We had the seven course tasting menu with paired wines and took three and a half hours over it, and although the restaurant had closed they didn't rush us in the slightest. Go!"

  • "nice food and service. the tasting menu is good for me. I like fish :) I have tried a lot of restaurant, this one is not the best, and worth to eat."

  • "We had the 8 course tasting menu with matching wine and shared a cheese course. Every dish was delicious and the wines were perfectly matched. We finished the meal and felt delightfully full - the size of the portions were perfect (though we did skip lunch that day)! Service was excellent, attentive but not over bearing. The size of the room is perfect and there is a great atmosphere, vibrant but not loud. It was a return visit after 9 years and The Ledbury has definitely grown up to deserve its top notch standing. I don't plan to wait another 9 years to go back again."

  • "I went the Ledbury with my husband for sunday lunch yesterday. Everything was perfect in food, drink, service etc... What a flawless restaurant!! I am so impressed ! Today I have already booked next visit in May for my husband birthday ! It's so hard to find the restaurant like them in London. Just Amazing!!"

  • "We had the longer of the two tasting menus on a Saturday evening and the food was very good. The menu was well balanced, just the right amount of food for a tasting menu, and quite 'non-standard' dishes without being too crazy. The service was informal and relaxed - perhaps a tad too relaxed as we had to ask for a few things - which is very unusual for a 2 star restaurant. As for wine, we had several glasses recommended by the sommelier throughout. I found the wine decent but not special. The ambience was simple, the restaurant was a good size and we had a nice table, however it did get rather noisy when almost full. All in all a very pleasurable experience. A few imperfections but it didn't have a big impact on the evening."
    dined on 08/03/2014
  • "I was expecting the food to be fabulous (2 Michelin stars ..) and of course it was. But what really made it for me was the incredible service: clearly it's a fancy restaurant but it wasn't stuffy and the staff were really incredible - attentive (but not overly so), intelligent, humorous and really made us feel special. A superb evening topped off by a visit to see the kitchens and chatting with the great man himself (Brett was remarkably down to earth & chatty). An incredible evening that I will remember for a long time!"

  • "Absolutely outstanding food - did not disappoint. Totally deserves it's place amongst the best restaurants in the world. This was a birthday treat for my brother and he was blown away by the quality of the food. We even got to meet Brett and the team in the kitchen to round the night off. Highly recommend for that special ocassion."

  • "Well-decorated, with cozy atmosphere, beautiful chandeliers, too bad the food really poor, little choice and not up to expectations. There is no reason to recommend or return."

  • "a wonderful experience in a restaurant where you feel at home but at the same time you can enjoy professional service, great wines at affordable prices and, morevoer, a first class cooking, The roast scallops, the fillet of sea bass and the short rib of ruby red beef were simply oustanding. strongly recommended"
