  • "Wonderful food and to sit and admire the amazing view was a treat."

  • "Took friends with us that hadnt been to the Lewinnick before and they were as impressed as we were when we first visited. Every time we go back either for a meal or just a drink, we are always very happy. Just wish we could have seen a dolphin and that would have put the icing on a perfect day!"

  • "Need to book to ensure you are not disappointed. I am a frequent visitor here and decided to share the experience with brother and sister in law. They were very impressed with all aspects - relaxed surroundings and gentle buzz of place, quality of food, choice of food and pleasant service. Only negative was bar service not as attentive as could be (similar experience last visit ... more customer focus required ... could learn from restaurant staff who set the standard ) and Doombar beer was too cold for a real ale. This said, thank you for a good experience."

  • "Recommended to go to Lewinnick by two people. A lovely walk out to an isolated spot. Contemporary, relaxed and comfortable bar and restaurant, with a huge deck. Excellent seasonal and daily menu. So much choice. Good kids menu too. Every dish we had in our group of eight was superb......squid for starter, sea bass and the monkfish scampi were all excellent but showstopper was millionaire shortbread cheesecake with salted caramel ice cream with honeycomb. Our friends are going back for a second taste in one week."

  • "We visit Lewenicks quite a bit (roughly every 8-10 weeks) and it is the same every time: the view is superb, the service poor. But we know what we get and still go primarily for the location but also because there is no other real compeition in Newquay. In terms of location you can't beat it on a sunny afternoon or evening watching the sun set. But other than that it is remarkably average. They never answer the phone, the staff are always rushed and often a little rude, the food is sometimes hit and miss (was seabss gnocchi dish came with 6 pieces of gnocchi on this visit, previously we had a food lable arrive in the olives. You have to be very particular on how you want your issue resloving as they are not particulaly pro-active)"

  • "Booked to go to the Lewinnick Lodge after being recommended it by two different people. They were absolutely right in everything they said! Great setting, great food and a lovely atmosphere. It's classy, but still got a casual feel to it. It was perfect for me to celebrate my 50th birthday with my two wonderful children!"

  • "Ended a great week in Cornwall with dinner at the Lewinnick Lodge. Great food, wine and the best views in North Cornwall. Make sure you go when the forecast looks good for Sunset, you won't be disappointed. "

  • "We took my son to celebrate his promotion. Cannot fault it. The food and the service was excellent. Will be recommending to all my friends 😋"

  • "Great place to come and relax and entertain friends families or work colleagues. Food was disappointing on value quality. This was the first time I felt a lack of satisfaction. I am happy to pay for quality but frozen uninspiring chips with grizzly pork ribs with a forget able coleslaw. This did not warrant the price for such a basic chips and chops. Next time hopefully this will prove to be an exception."

  • "4 of us went for a business lunch. Reserved a table and all was ready on our arrival. Ordered starters which took some time to come, at least 25 minutes wait. Then had to wait another 20 minutes (after we had finished the starters) for the mains to arrive. Would it put me off going again? Probably not, so long as I had plenty of time on my hands! This restaurant is in an excellent position overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and more specifically Fistral Beach! Ideal place to have a few drinks in a classy atmosphere."

  • "Took a French colleague along for an eveneing meal, he was blown away by the location. Add to this the attentive staff, good choice of beers and lovely food it was a really plaesant evening. The setting sun was wonderful, just a magic place to relax enjoy the view accompanied by good food and wine."

  • "Visited with my wife and mother whilst in Newquay, very nice modern decor and fresh contemporary menu with choice for everyone. Not the cheapest but very good value compared to many other restaurants I have visited. I recommend the fish but equally mums lamb was excellent!"

  • "We visited for dinner and had booked the 4:45pm slot. When we arrived we were told the lunch menu was still being served, however, the staff were very accommodating and moved us to a later slot for dinner. We had the fishcake as starter which was beautiful! Our mains were fish and chips and steak (perfectly done with a blue cheese sauce). Dessert was lemon tart (a bit too tart for my palette) and milliionnares shortbread (which was actually more like panna cotta) We dined with our 4 yr old who was also well catered for. Without alcohol our meal came to about £60. Weather permitting do try for a table outside where the views are fabulous! "

  • "Awful experience at Lewinnick. 12 years we have visited and the service gets worse and worse each time. Managerial response a phone call with a derisory £20 voucher offer - we had to wait 30 minutes for a starter and 50 minutes for our main course in a half full building!!! We left without starting our main course, very disappointed! Restaurant relies too much on location and holidaymakers. "

  • "we have eaten there many times as a couple and also with friends and family - always enjoyable and the views are fantastic whatever the weather"

  • "I know service should be unhurried and that there is a disclaimer on the menu that food is freshly cooked so there may be a delay but this is the second time here at Sunday lunch time when it was just too slow. They were busy as the view and food are great. The portions are a good size and food well cooked and presented but 2 and a quarter hours for a 3 course meal without coffee is a little excessive however beautiful and distracting the view is . We were also sitting near the air con which was like sitting in an artic gale. Do go but leave yourself plenty of time!"

  • "Came as a party to celebrate Mother's Day. Service was excellent, we were seated immediately despite having arrived late and the waiting staff were fast and friendly. Unfortunately, I feel the menu is a little overpriced as although the food is good, I wouldn't describe it as excellent. Having said that, I will still continue to dine at Lewinnick as it is a great venue with fabulous staff, spectacular views and good food."
    dined on 30/03/2014
  • "The view is beautiful. Service is friendly but extremely slow. We waited over 30 minutes for poached eggs on a muffin, and two of the eggs were hard by the time they arrived. Having asked for our coffee to be brought with the food, it arrived early, and we finished it by the time the food eventually arrived. Having pointed this out, they were very apologetic, and gave us an extra complimentary cup."

  • "Went here for my 20th birthday, and it was very nice ! All staff were friendly and smiling, nothing was a chore. Food here is the best i have had. Good size portions, i would recommend the stick toffee pudding! It was amazing ! A Spanish woman served us and she was brilliant. Scenery outside was beautiful. would recommend to everyone."

  • "My partner and I were looking for a nice place to spend our 2 year anniversary. As we both work in the industry we are always a bit dubious of trying new places. What a night we had, It was lovely, The food, The atmosphere everything was perfect. Thank you for making it so memorable. We will surely see you soon"
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "We didn't stay in there very long, after attending the bar to ask where our table was we were ignored by the bar staff not once but twice. It wasn't busy at the bar, there were only two people there one that had the attention of one of the staff but not for service and the other was a person who the barman approached instead of us to take a food order. Ignoring someone once is bad enough but obviously this restaurant employs staff that prefer to see their own reflection and flirt with the regulars."
    dined on 14/03/2014
  • "We had a meal at the Lewenick Newquay . We were made to feel very welcome and the food was amazing . I had the belly pork as did my friend and it was cooked to perfection. We would defiantly return ."

  • "Staff were fab, anticipated everything. Food was excellent!"

  • "We have enjoyed the Lewinnick at many different times of the day. We usually fully enjoy the experience, but on this occasion it didn't go so well. Our first table was in the middle of the thoroughfare close to the bar area, and the staff were happy to move us. The second table (further down the thoroughfare) was one of two tables without lighting above which made it quite dark. No massive concern. My wife and son were really happy with their food, but my steak was awful. I had to leave half of it, part chewed, on my plate. For £18 it should have been better. I ate a steak at a Wetherspoons pub recently which was twice as good, more trimmings, half the price, plus a free beer! Didn't make a fuss but I know the staff would have been great."

  • "Really enjoyed the food. The service was excellent although the triple cooked chips were not as good as expected."

  • "I booked lunch at the Lewinnick Lodge for Valentines day for my husband and I and our 6 year old son. I requested a window seat which was accommodated and booking online was ultra easy and quick!! The staff were chatty and attentive; nothing was too much trouble and the choice of food was great and excellent value. My husband had three courses, I had two courses and our son had two courses with drinks and we paid £50 which was brilliant. I go to the Lewinnick quite regularly, usually for a coffee but I would defiantly recommend eating there. The atmosphere is relaxed, child friendly and welcoming. All I need to do now is try out one of the rooms!!!"

  • "Appalling attitude from the manager. I called 6 times to say we were late for breakfast. we arrived we were told that breakfast was finished at 11.30 ( 12.00 and only two tables occupied). I had tried to call and he said my phone must be faulty and even if we had got through we would have been told breakfast finished at 11.30 -I said had we known we could have found somewhere else that served breakfast. I asked if the chef the could do anything off the breakfast menu - but he said no! I also pointed out -no where on the website does it state that the breakfast menu ends at 1130 - it implies that you can order all day. the manager agreed that the wording was ambiguous! We ordered from the lunch menu - which was at best mediocre!"

  • "I do not live in the area but this is the 3rd time I have visited the restaurant. It never disappoints on any level"

  • "We recently enjoyed Sunday breakfast at the Lewinnick Lodge and we would highly recommend it as the atmosphere is exceedingly relaxed, the food was absolutely delicious and the service was nicely paced but not forgotten, we spent a few hours with friends and will definitely return."

  • "We use the Lewinnick all the time. The atmosphere is always always comfortable but smart enough for special occasions. The food is not cheap but interesting and good."

  • "Went to this restaurant with my wife and daughter for 2014 New Year's Day lunch. The waiting staff were really friendly. With a bit more training about not leaning across customers the service would have been excellent as well as making us feel really wanted. Understandably, the restaurant got pretty full and it then got hard to hear on our table at times, but the views, even on a stormy day like it was, were spectacular. The food was superb. Between us, we had squid, soup, mussels, pork belly, feather of beef, creme brulee, panacotta and scones. The only negative comment was the the pork might have had some crackling to go with it. The rest was great and the scones, which I rarely choose, were wonderful. Highly recommended."
