  • "I went along with my daughter for afternoon tea as part of her 21 st celebrations and we were not disappointed, the whole experience was just superb."

  • "I hadn't been to the Savoy for tea since 1988, but my return did not disappoint. The hotel renovation is outstanding and afternoon tea is as exceptional as I remembered. The food - a quite substantial amount - was delicious and served beautifully. My food allergy (nuts) was graciously accommodated. This time I brought my daughter who was charmed. Everything I hoped for and more."

  • "is not a luxury afternoon tea. The food and service are not appropriate for a high-class hotel ... very nice location .... disappointing experience...."

  • "A very good afternoon tea. Service was excellent, very efficient and helpful. Surroundings were opulent. Sandwiches were varied and tasty, scones were superb as were the small pastries. My only disappointment was the signature cakes, I really wasn't that impressed at all. That aside, all in all it was a very good experience"

  • "A delightful experience. The waiting staff were friendly and attentive. Our choice of tea was topped up throughout and any finger sandwich or cake that we particularly enjoyed was replenished if we so desired."

  • "Booked Afternoon Tea for my Mum's 70th Birthday. It was a wonderful experience. The waitress was polite let us take our time, so we didn't feel rushed at all. We opted for the High Tea Menu. The tea was the nicest Earl Grey that I have ever had. Next we had a lovely selection of Sandwiches which were al lovely and very tasty. Then we had Smoked Salmon, Srambled Egg and Melba Toast. This was all delicious. The next course was Crumpets, served with Honey, Strawberry Jam and Marmalade. Each topping was the nicest I have ever, lovely flavours. The final course was a lovely Raspberry Cake. We had a very enjoyable afternoon, which I would recomend. I would definitely booked Afternoon Tea at the Savoy again. Much nicer than Tea at the Ritz !!!"

  • "Everything about the experience of High Tea at the Savoy Hotel was excellent. A highlight of my holiday in London!"

  • "Afternoon tea at the Savoy was on our list of things to do before we die. I am glad to say that the experience did live up to our expectations of a grand afternoon tea within plush surroundings and to be made to feel important throughout our time there. There was never the feeling of being rushed - we could take our time and relish the occasion at our leisure. The sandwiches were very tasty and we could have had as many as we liked - then there was the second course of smoked salmon and scrambled egg on melba toast which was delicious followed by cake which we could not finish as by that time we had eaten too much. The waiter, Petro, was very attentive and friendly."

  • "In my opinion the Savoy does the best afternoon tea in London. Delicious finger sandwiches, perfect scones, beautiful pastries and then cake, if you still have room, all served with endless cups of tea. It's not cheap but you definitely leave feeling more than satisfied. My only complaint would be that the website said we would have the table for an hour and forty five minutes. Fortunately our table wasn't required and we enjoyed it for longer, otherwise I would never have managed the cake."

  • "Try the afternoon tea once in your life at Savoy, Thames Foyer."

  • "Afternoon tea at The Savoy is the ulitmate treat! All the food is fantastic, there is an extensive range of teas available and the service is second to none! Well worth the money!"

  • "Went for Sunday afternoon tea, there were 3 if us but got a tray/tier of food for 2 and although we were told to order more it should have been set for 3. We felt greedy asking for more but when there are only 2 scones between 3 and 2 of each sandwich! The waiter was always there topping up our cups even when only half way down the cup. A very enjoyable afternoon."

  • "I booked the savoy as a treat for my mother in law. First impressions were great - the surroundings were beautiful and welcome and customer service were lovely. Unfortunately though the food just didn't match it. Some sandwiches were nice but others were just a bit odd - but the big disappointment was the cakes. They looked beautiful but tasted of very little - bland, dry and again a bit weird in some cases. I wonder if we would have been more enthusiastic if we hadn't been for afternoon tea to gleneagles recently, where quality and taste are everything - but at £210 for 3 of us ( for one glass of champagne and the traditional afternoon tea ) to leave disappointed, we felt it was an expensive mistake."

  • "I have just been lucky to enjoy another afternoon tea at the Savoy and it never fails to disappoint. We were served by 2 wonderful waiters and were amazed to find that one was on a work placement from his second year of college, he was so professional and good with the guests we thought he was far more experienced. The food was exceptional and they really excelled themselves with the presentation of the pastries. Their lemon curd with the scones is also to die for. Unfortunately there was not enough room left to properly enjoy our traditional cakes which are served at the end of the tea but the few bites we could manage were very good. Would definitely recommend."

  • "Nos ha gustado todo, excepto la empleada que nos atendió y acompañó hasta la mesa con mal estilo, con sonrisa irónica y haciendo comentarios con los compañeros a la vez que nos miraba, impropio de este gran hotel esta empleada."

  • "We have just been to afternoon tea at the Savoy it was the best experience (I have been to five other hotels over the past years) of afternoon tea I have been to it was so relaxing and we were look after like royalty nothing was too much trouble and we never felt out of place or rushed in any way. the food was of a very high standard and our tea cups were never empty would definitely go again maybe try another restaurant in the Savoy. altogether a lovely experience."

  • "What a lovely way to spend an afternoon! Tea at the savoy was so amazing and wonderful that I would definitely recommend going there to all my friends and family. Maurice, our waiter, was very attentive and very charming! Thank you for making our day very special."

  • "For us this was a celebration of a birthday and wedding anniversary and it was wonderful. From the start everything was perfect - the greeting, service, setting ambience. The tea it self was first class - everything was fresh tasty and plentiful - go with an appetite!"

  • "This was on my must do's while visiting London and lived up to my expectations and then some! It was a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the streets of London. The food was absolutely delicious! The ambience was beautiful and you felt very pampered. It is something I will always remember from my visit to London."

  • "Went to Savoy for my birthday as a special treat and it was just amazing. Really enjoyed the beauty of the room, the food was really lovely, service was flawless and the ambiance with the lady playing the piano was just excellent. Really enjoyable experiance, will be back. Oh and they presented all the birthday people with a candle and little cake which was lovely."

  • "On our 2nd visit to the Savoy we sampled traditional afternoon tea and found, again, that the staff were very attentive and yet unobtrusive, the atmosphere lovely with the tinkling piano and the food delightfully served and showing great care and attention. We'd had no lunch but we were very, very full! Couldn't even manage the last cake offered. We were surprised that of the 6 or so exquisite pastries offered you could choose all of them, if you so wished! That would be greedy. But, when you consider the amount of food and drink available, the unhurried nature and the comfortable surroundings, it's actually pretty good value all round! I'd recommend and I'd like to return."

  • "We took my mother in law for afternoon tea, we have been before, but not since the renovations. The food was lovely and the surroundings are also just as lovely as ever. The first lady who looked after us was very friendly & efficient, but I would say after that the service was not quite up to standard, I think we had someone who was new, but we were left with cold tea and when we asked for a glass of champagne it took ages and several more requests before it arrived. Paradoxically, it also felt as though we were being rushed. Previous afternoon tea here was better, but this was still a nice afternoon (I don't think they charged for the 2nd glass of champagne so to be fair maybe they noticed all was not quite as good as should have been)"

  • "I booked a table for afternoon tea for my grandmother's birthday present. As soon as we got to the Savoy every member of staff we passed was pleasant and said hello and asked if we needed help. At our table the waiters introduced themselves and were always coming to the table to check if we needed anything. We had the traditional afternoon tea and there was plenty of food which was at a high standard. The waiters even asked if we wanted more to which I accepted on a few occasions. We had an excellent selection of tea's and we never ran out as the waiters kept the pot topped up. We both thoroughly enjoyed our tea and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for something to break up a trip to London."

  • "Everyone must move on and update, but the one thing I missed today was the white glove service that made tea at the Savoy decadent. and special. Tea is great at the Savoy and having had afternoon at many Fairmont in Baku, Four Seasons Baku, Kempinski Moscow and Dubai, Burg Al Arab Dubai - the Savoy London rates at the top and the rest of the Fairmont chain should take a 'leaf' from the Savoy London and learn what afternoon tea should be. Had a wonderful afternoon, great pianist. Thank you"

  • "Myself and my two daughters came to London for the day and specifically wanted to do something special and tea at the Savoy didn't disappoint at all. We were welcomed and shown to our table and everything was relaxed and calm. Everything was perfect, and we didn't feel rushed at all, everything was done at our pace. The food was excellent, loved the sandwiches and scones and I can honestly say that I have never eaten so many cakes in one sitting - brilliant. I would certainly return for a special occasion."

  • "Wonderful experience again. The standard of service is excellent, food wonderful, so many different teas to try. I have been for the Afternoon Tea twice now and we will certainly be back again."

  • "My husband and I booked afternoon tea, and we were excited about the event, as we expected it to be a highlight of our London experience. Our tea was booked for 5:15 p.m. Everything was wonderful at the beginning, but then our server got off work, I suppose, and another server took his place. That was when everything fell apart. Our new server seemed to completely forget about us! She did not pour our tea, and she never brought our last course, nor the check when the meal was over. We were delayed in getting to our next scheduled event because we waited so long for the check, then we finally had to go to the hostess to pay our bill. For the extravagant cost of the tea, we were expecting something close to perfection, but it was not."
    dined on 08/08/2014
  • "My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon tea at the Savoy. The room was quiet and the service was excellent. The staff were discrete but attentive and made the time there very relaxing. More can be said about the food, which was also excellent and well presented with a variety of sandwich fillings and cakes, we liked them all. This is something we are planning on repeating on future visits to London. It is well worth the experience and pleasure of an afternoon at the Savoy. ."

  • "Myself and my sister took our mum to the Savoy for her 60th birthday. It was amazing!! Even better than we expected. It was peaceful and relaxed and we were constantly asked if we wanted more! We left completely relaxed but stuffed . Highly recommend this to anyone."

  • "I booked afternoon tea for my mums 65th birthday. Couldn't fault anything. They even presented her with a cake and candle on a decorated plate. Which I hadn't requested. She was thrilled. Would highly recommend. Didnt have to pour 1 cup of tea. Waiter was very attentive. Fabulous surroundings."

  • "We went to The Savoy, Thames Foyer, as a family, to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We were welcomed immediately by very polite and friendly staff, who were very keen to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We had previously thought that a 'few finger sandwiches' plus a scone or two wouldn't fill us up - how wrong we were! The sandwiches kept coming, the scones were beautifully fresh and tasty, then the French Fancies and cakes were rolled out! Along with some marvellous teas, some rare, and the efficiency and friendliness of the lovely waitresses, we were thoroughly looked-after and entertained. The waitresses all had lovely, genuine smiles for us, and they really added to the occasion."

  • "Some reviews we read before we went were not very encouraging. However, we found that the ambiance, service and food to be of a very high standard. The staff were attentive without being intrusive. The food was plentiful, delicious and eye pleasing especially the pastries. Would thoroughly recommend this venue for that special occaision."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed afternoon tea at the Savoy for my 50th birthday this week, which is something I have wanted to do for a long time. It is expensive, but in my opinion well worth every penny! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and spotless. The service is second to none, and the food amazing! I must have drunk a gallon of tea as the re-fills just kept coming without us having to ask. No shortage of sandwiches or cakes either. The champagne was very nice too and kept in an ice bucket right next to us. A pianist played beautifully in the background. All in all, a wonderful experience and I would strongly recommend everyone to try it at least once!"

  • "Breakfast at the Savoy - says it all and, for once , lives up to expectations. Perfectly cooked 'full Savoy', impeccable service and amazing surroundings. Any criticism? - maybe the vienoisserie could have been served warm - but a minor quibble. All in all a wonderful experience to start a special day."
    dined on 04/08/2014
  • "Could not fault food - sandwiches were fresh and tasty; scones light and pastries scrumptious. The let down was the service, which on previous visits has also been faultless. We were bought one pot of tea, which was replaced but again on previous visits waiters have tempted us into trying something different, and had the time to stop and have a little chat. Would still recommend though."
