Guests can also indulge in Afternoon Tea in this comfortable and intimate spot accompanied by the hotel's resident pianist. Afternoon Tea at The Savoy is an enduring custom where guests can choose from a range of teas served with finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream & jam and a mouthwatering selection of cakes and pastries. The Savoy has the best selection of teas, fantastic food and friendly staff. Having Afternoon tea at the Savoy is a must when in London. Beautiful surroundings to enjoy a never ending supply of tea, scones, sandwiches and pastries. You won't need to eat dinner after this decadent treat.

My husband and I went to have afternoon tea to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The thames foyer was the setting and it was a very elegant room with a pianist playing in an Adobe in the centre of the room. Our waitresses were very attentive, my tea cup was never empty and they were very friendly too. At the end of our experience we were presented with a beautiful cake on a plate with happy anniversary piped on it in chocolate which was a very nice touch. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely go again.

The Savoy is so lovely, from the ambience to the food to the service. Their gluten free options are superb - the best by far of the afternoon tea's in London. While it's priced on the high side, you do get unlimited sandwiches (and probably scones if you ask) and they also let you take home your desserts if by chance you've stuffed your face with a bit too much of the savouries. The ambience of the restaurant is great as well - with two areas for tea. The main Thames Foyer with the giant Victorian birdcage/gazebo in the centre is elegant and girly, while the dark velvet and gold trim in the bar area is so swanky and romantic. I prefer the latter, but have enjoyed my time in both. You will not be disappointed with the Savoy.

We had a superb afternoon tea at The Sayoy in celebration of my mother's birthday. We were met at the entrance and escorted through the hotel, my mother is wheelchair bound and was always treated with respect and courtesy throughout our visit. Our place in the foyer was very comfortable and private, seated in comfortable arm chairs. Our waiter came to introduce himself, he was charming, funny and looked after us very well. We found out all about Kasper the cat!! At no time were we 'shepherded' through, as my experience has been in another famous London hotel.

I was lucky that inspiration hit me out of the blue when thinking of a 50th birthday present for someone very special. She works in the catering industry and is a passionate lover of and maker of good food. She also loves a 'dressing up' occasion and the afternoon tea was absolutely appropriate. She was utterly bowled over by the whole occasion and we would recommend it without hesitation.

Had the perfect day. Took my mum for a birthday treat. Thought it was expensive for afternoon tea when I booked but when we got that I could see why. The food was amazing. Never thought sandwiches could taste so good--and the supply was endless. Even though it said we had the table for 1hr45 we weren't rushed out and stayed for 2hrs15. The service could not be faulted. We have had afternoon tea in the Ritz and this was better!

The quality of the tea was quite disappointing. We were hoping to taste a good selection of pastries. But we were only presented 6 selections of cakes, each of us chose a type, none of them was very good. Overall, I think the sandwiches are better than the cakes. The only thing I enjoyed was the ambiance. The service was ok. I don't think the price matches the quality.

60th Birthday afternoon tea. Perfect, even the usually fussy children enjoyed themselves. Nothing was too much for the staff who were excellent throughout. Obviously it was on the pricey side of things but it was for a special occasion and in that respect it really did feel special. The only gripe was a lack of chocolate cake!!!!!!!

Took my wife for afternoon tea at the Savoy followed by a show in the Savoy theatre to celebrate her 50th birthday , everything was fine until I requested that we move to the bar area for a cocktail before the show, When we received our bill we were charged £78 for a bottle of champagne that we ordered with our afternoon tea that was on the menu at £64' also a 12.5% service charge was added when clearly on the menu it states service included in the price. This was rectified quickly and apologies were given, we use the Ritz very often and the policy is price shown is service included, we have never had a problem there We tried the Savoy as the show was next door, Think we will stick to the Ritz in future

I hadn't been to the Savoy for tea since 1988, but my return did not disappoint. The hotel renovation is outstanding and afternoon tea is as exceptional as I remembered. The food - a quite substantial amount - was delicious and served beautifully. My food allergy (nuts) was graciously accommodated. This time I brought my daughter who was charmed. Everything I hoped for and more.

Booked Afternoon Tea for my Mum's 70th Birthday. It was a wonderful experience. The waitress was polite let us take our time, so we didn't feel rushed at all. We opted for the High Tea Menu. The tea was the nicest Earl Grey that I have ever had. Next we had a lovely selection of Sandwiches which were al lovely and very tasty. Then we had Smoked Salmon, Srambled Egg and Melba Toast. This was all delicious. The next course was Crumpets, served with Honey, Strawberry Jam and Marmalade. Each topping was the nicest I have ever, lovely flavours. The final course was a lovely Raspberry Cake. We had a very enjoyable afternoon, which I would recomend. I would definitely booked Afternoon Tea at the Savoy again. Much nicer than Tea at the Ritz !!!

Afternoon tea at the Savoy was on our list of things to do before we die. I am glad to say that the experience did live up to our expectations of a grand afternoon tea within plush surroundings and to be made to feel important throughout our time there. There was never the feeling of being rushed - we could take our time and relish the occasion at our leisure. The sandwiches were very tasty and we could have had as many as we liked - then there was the second course of smoked salmon and scrambled egg on melba toast which was delicious followed by cake which we could not finish as by that time we had eaten too much. The waiter, Petro, was very attentive and friendly.

In my opinion the Savoy does the best afternoon tea in London. Delicious finger sandwiches, perfect scones, beautiful pastries and then cake, if you still have room, all served with endless cups of tea. It's not cheap but you definitely leave feeling more than satisfied. My only complaint would be that the website said we would have the table for an hour and forty five minutes. Fortunately our table wasn't required and we enjoyed it for longer, otherwise I would never have managed the cake.

My husband and I were visiting London from America and made reservations in advance for this tea. I had been to this tea a few years ago and remembered it fondly. It was just as I remembered if not better. The ambience is almost magical. The service is extraordinary. We had three waiters who looked like they just stepped out of Downton Abby. They pampered us as if we were royalty. We started with a glass of champagne and then moved on to more tea choices than you could possibly need, delicious finger sandwiches, tasty scones and jams, irresistible finger desserts and it all kept coming plate after plate. The silver service and linens added to the beautiful scene along with the pianist. After two hours we dragged ourselves away.

Went for Sunday afternoon tea, there were 3 if us but got a tray/tier of food for 2 and although we were told to order more it should have been set for 3. We felt greedy asking for more but when there are only 2 scones between 3 and 2 of each sandwich! The waiter was always there topping up our cups even when only half way down the cup. A very enjoyable afternoon.

I booked the savoy as a treat for my mother in law. First impressions were great - the surroundings were beautiful and welcome and customer service were lovely. Unfortunately though the food just didn't match it. Some sandwiches were nice but others were just a bit odd - but the big disappointment was the cakes. They looked beautiful but tasted of very little - bland, dry and again a bit weird in some cases. I wonder if we would have been more enthusiastic if we hadn't been for afternoon tea to gleneagles recently, where quality and taste are everything - but at £210 for 3 of us ( for one glass of champagne and the traditional afternoon tea ) to leave disappointed, we felt it was an expensive mistake.

I have just been lucky to enjoy another afternoon tea at the Savoy and it never fails to disappoint. We were served by 2 wonderful waiters and were amazed to find that one was on a work placement from his second year of college, he was so professional and good with the guests we thought he was far more experienced. The food was exceptional and they really excelled themselves with the presentation of the pastries. Their lemon curd with the scones is also to die for. Unfortunately there was not enough room left to properly enjoy our traditional cakes which are served at the end of the tea but the few bites we could manage were very good. Would definitely recommend.
