Visited Tasting Rooms once again, Friday 16th Aug, had bought a voucher on Groupon, paid £25 for the voucher, this was for 3 course dinner for 2 people picking from the pre theatre menu, this wasn't a problem as menu is extensive & great variety. We both had soup - cream of cauliflower with bacon which was just wonderful, my main was Moroccan Lamb & cous cous again was absolutely fantastic, finished off with white chocolate & blueberry cheesecake - scrumptious! The waiter was very attentive & very knowledgeable of the whole menu, a lovely night at the Tasting Rooms.

My daughter and I made last minute reservations for an evening out. We had a lovely bottle of wine from Portugal and enjoyed our meal. My steak was a bit fatty, since I am one to prefer a leaner cut of meat. She had the duck and was very happy with it. I have been here before, and will come here again - menu is very good, wines are excellent and the service is attentive but not intrusive.

The tasting Rooms is unfortunately situated in Dundee in the midst if a vast building project. A new Park and a V@A. That can't be helping business. Don't let it put you off. Our food overall was very good. What appealed was the use of different ingredients on the menu. ie leak sauce, orange hollandaise plus many others. So many places churn out non inspiring dishes. Our sampling was Smoked salmon tart with broccoli mouse, well seasoned and very good. Chicken terrine wrapped in bacon VG with Orkney oak cakes, Creamy crab risotto also good but under seasoned. Perhaps left to the customer to season to taste. Grilled Seabass, prawns and an orange hollandaise sauce. Lamb, again good but could have been tenderer.

I've eaten at the Tasting Rooms a few times now and always feel the food is good but the place itself lacks atmosphere. It's quite clinical and not cosy. The service varies depending who is doing the serving and while its ok it doesn't make you feel in any way special. We are just pass-through customers, that's now how I want to feel......

This must provide the best value quality lunch in Dundee. At only £6.95 for 2 courses it is tremendous value for quality food in a smart venue and excellent service. I have dined here often, twice very recently for lunch. One of my guests observed that at his usual lunch venue in another town he regularly pays more than that for a filled roll and coffee. But don't ignore it for dinner either. Excellent value pre-theatre dinner. Superb a-la-carte food too, served immaculately. I have never been disappointed here.

We had lunch here. Food was excellent value. £6.95 for 2 courses or £9.95 for 3 courses. Had to wait a while between all courses but starter and main course were freshly made and piping hot. The sweet and sour pork with noodles was really good. Also good sized portions. Would definitely recommend. Well worth a visit.

We went to the Tasting Roms for the first time on our wedding anniversary as we thought we would treat ourselves. The service was excellent and the waiters were very friendly. The mussels were delicious, however my husband would have liked more Dauphinoise potatoes with his his duck, as they were very tasty - as was the duck. Desserts were fabulous!

I've been to The Tasting Rooms before and had a totally different experience to the one I've just had. While the restaurant were blaming the lack of heat on the fact they were closed over Christmas, I don't think that's acceptable. 2 of the lunch dishes weren't ready for serving so why out them on the menu if your chef isn't going to be in early enough to prepare them? All-in-all it was a huge disappointment this time. If this had been my first visit, I wouldn't go back. As it wasn't, I will as I know it can be better but in this current climate, you just can't give poor service to your customers.

Food was okay, nothing particularly special, but well cooked. The problem we had was the service. Took over 40mins for our starters to arrive and we were just about to walk. Didn't like the atmosphere either - the open plan and hard floors made it feel like a canteen and the noise was unreal and deafening. They were busy, so I guess it might be better on quiet nights.

My wife and I have eaten here on a number of occasions. We ate here on Saturday 27 October. The meal was outstanding it always is. We eat out a lot and this is one of our favourite restaurants. The service is first class and the staff are extremely polite helpful and firendly. The chef changes the menu regularly and its always interesting and different. The quality style and presentation of the food rivals anywhere I have been. We had a lamb dish and it was cooked to perfection. Try this restaurant you won't be dissappointed

Although lunch is billed as "Express Lunch", I knew from a previous visit that a leisurely lunch experience can also be enjoyed at The Tasting Rooms. The staff were friendly and most attentive; the food and wine were excellent, and the ambience was good - a happy relaxed buzz of conversation which was not intrusive. I have had lunches and pre-theatre dinners at The Tasting Rooms and can highly recommend both.

Whilst this restaurant is well appointed and in a great location, unfortunately the service and the food let it down. The waiting staff are very aloof and distant and do not connect with the diners. The food was ok but with the main courses that my wife and I chose, there were too many flavours on the same plate which simply did not work. Very disappointed and would not recommend.

Tasting Rooms has a light airy feel the mezzanine (balcony) restaurant. The 'lounge' area has a contemporary, yet cozy feel. The menu contained several starts and mains to choose from, but not overly complicated - still had a difficult time choosing what to pick! My wife had a lovely dish of sea bass, and I had duck's leg with toulouse sausage. Both were lovely. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. All in all a special evening made even more special with great food.

Would definitely recommend The Tasting Rooms. My husband and I were visiting Dundee for the weekend and didn't know where to eat but reviews were good so thought we'd try it. We both had the vegetable tart to start and my husband had the sirloin steak and said it was the best he's ever had, and he regularly eats out. I had salmon which was excellent. Would certainly go back if in Dundee again.
