Had the meat selection platter between 2, which was excellent - plenty of food, nicely cooked and piping hot. Would recommend.

Recently dined at the Warwick to celebrate a graduation. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent, greeted in a friendly way and made to feel very welcome. (Nice sized bar adjacent to the restaurant if you want a relaxed drink before eating). Food was excellent and service throughout the meal was very good. Even the bill was a pleasant surprise - great value will definately be eating there again. Just FYI, had the ballotine of lamb which was superb and the cheese plate which contained so much cheese I had to leave some!

Great venue for a low key family gathering to send off my son on a year long voyage. Liked the simplicity of the menu yet everyone found something to their taste. Staff are attentive but not pushy. Didn't break the bank either. Will definitely be coming back.

  • We have dined at the Oak on
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011
    Dined on 14/4/2012
We have dined at the Oak on numberous occasions and the food has always been of a high standard and thought that we would dine again as it was under new management. Never again will we dine there as the medium-rare fillet steak served as a main course was served cold. Reluctantly, my husband complained and the dish was taken away. When a replacement came,it was the same piece of steak that had been basically re-heated as it was heavily cooked on the outside. He ate it as he was hungry but complained again when asked and although the waitress was apologetic not once did the manager come over to apologise which being under new management you thought he would have done so. We were not charged for this meal but feel the managment was poor.

I'm afraid there is no redeeming feature about The Oak. The bar area was very cold and so was the restaurant. The food served was at best average and worst shockingly bad. Risotto made with pudding rice, burnt goats cheese tart and burnt leeks! What more can be said?

  • The Always good on multiple
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

The Always good on multiple visits for lunch/sunday lunch and dinner. I literally have only 1 criticism and that is that when the main room is busy the noise levels can be high (due to the builds lack of sound baffles). This has proved distracting for relatives with hearing aids. Although it did not stop him enjoying the food and overall experience. Well worth a visit.

The Sunday Roast was really good. We chose from the 'Prix Fixe' menu and all three courses were well presented and tasted lovely. The service was very good with the exception of the way a delayed order for bottled water was handled.

We went to the Oak at Hockley Heath and had the best time it was gorgeous food and the staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and everything is very well presented. The surroundings inside are very sophisticated and stylish its somewhere that if you wanted to dress up you wouldnt feel out of place. Outside there is large patio area lit up with pretty lights and comfy furniture. I loved the menu choice. Friends we took with us were really impressed. We loved it and will go back.

I took some overseas visitors to The Oak at Hockley Heath on 21st September, a Wednesday night. The staff were very friendly and attentive and there was a good choice of seafood, fish and meat dishes from the main menu plus the day's specials. Though the wine list was limited, I would recommend this restaurant as the setting is very pleasant and for me it rates as a good gastro-pub.

Whilst working at the NEC, I went to The Oak on the recommendation of some local people. I was very impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. The only drawback was that I went early to take advantage of the early diner discount and was the only person there for about half an hour which was a bit of a mistake. However, once other diners appeared, the atmosphere picked up and it became less 'cold'. The food was excellent. I wish I lived nearer so I could go there every week.

Poor service despite being quiet I waited 5 min at an empty bar before i stuck my head in the kitchen & they sent someone out. My starter arrived but had to chase my wife's - just Bread! Have been before and it has been good service. I think being quiet they thought they could make do with minimum staff. Poor.

The Oak at Hockley Heath was very busy early on a Friday evening possibly due to a Groupon deal. The door hostess was extremely welcoming & apologised for the delay. Service was good. The food was pleasant, although the pork was bland. I was annoyed to be charged £2 per person for booking through Toptable because I was also using a Groupon voucher. I realise I may have been being cheeky but couldn't find anywhere that said that it wasn't allowed.
