I went to The Wolseley for dinner and loved it. This really looks and feels like a great continental cafe and the food is absolutely superb. I had the Schnitzel and it was probably the best that I have ever tasted. The menu is lovely, the service is perfect and the desserts are wonderful. Everything just tastes so, so good and, to top it all off, they served first class coffee. Everyone in our party enjoyed dinner and none of us could fault anything. We ordered a selection of side vegetable dishes and every single one of them was perfect. There is something on the menu for everyone and, although we spent quite a lot there, there is something for all pockets and the wines are very reasonable by the bottle for central London. The location is of course great and I would recommend this for couples, families or business meetings. If you do eat there, take a few minutes to reflect on the history of the building and, if you don't know about it, find out.

I had lunch in The Wolseley - it is advisable to book well in advance as it is always very busy - it's great for formal or informal lunch and such a great venue with good service and food - as ever always excellent

Interesting place - very busy and bustling. Good steak and chips and lovely Herrings and Oysters. Best to book the balcony tables if you want to talk as a bit noisy in the main restaurant due to the high ceilings and tables a bit too close together for comfort. Would go again for a pre or post theatre meal. Very bistro style so would not want to dwell over a meal for an evening which you could not anyway as under 2 hours is allocated per Booking which I always think is a bit of a cheek as not cheap.

I've been fortunate to eat here several times and the glamour of the place never dims. Add to that excellent food and superb service and you have something truly special. I took my heavily pregnant friend for an afternoon tea treat and the staff went above and beyond to make the whole experience wonderful. Most places would have charged extra for the additional non-fruit scones, lemon curd, raspberry jam, more cake and more tea. (Not that you need it, but we were feeling greedy!) We weren't rushed, or hurried off our table. Felt so spoiled by everyone! The tea was delicious, of course, delightful presentation, and sumptuous ambience. I'm running out of superlatives so will stop there. Apart from saying if you've never been, go. Just do it.

I was slightly concerned after reading some of these reviews that the standards at the Wolseley had slipped since my last visit 6 years ago but I'm pleased to report that the entire experience was just as good as all that time ago. The food was exemplary, the service was super fast and friendly, the ambience was divine (and in fact it was quite lovely that as we were slightly later dining at 10.30, it was not too loud and busy) and our evening was topped off by a treat with dessert of some complementary macaroons with a Happy Birthday marzipan sign! We would go back at the drop of a hat to taste even more of the many items on the menu that appealed to us!

Always love the Wolseley - atmosphere is great and the food superb. Having a table upstairs is more private but unless reminded you tend to be forgotten by your waiter. The bar area can also get somewhat congested. However, overall it's my favourite restaurant.

I went there for a business meeting and we were both seated very swiftly and our coats and umbrellas were taken care of. We were not rushed with our order, which was appreciated as we were still just getting into our conversation. The food was superb and the staff were very courteous.....I truly appreciated that the staff were not 'Stepford' in their appearance. They were well attired in their uniforms but could still show their personalities. Well done Wolseley!

I like to take friends to teh Wolseley when they are visiting London and they have done all the major sightseeing places already: it gives a sense of British establishment, albeit it was estabished not long ago! What I didn't like of the latest visit was the dual service charge: they charged the usual service, and a "cover" charge on top of that. Coming from Italy, I am failiar with the concept of cover but cover + service is something I've seen only in rip-off tourist-trap places in Rome or Florence

We have been eating at the Wolseley for years, normally for brunch or dinner. We have gradually watched the previously very high standards of service and food slip and our dinner here on Thursday was unfortunately no exception to this trend. Forgotten cocktails even after repeated requests, limp and over salted fries were mixed with perfectly alright steak tartare and spotty service by waiters who at times could not speak or understand English it seemed. A previous visit last month for brunch featured similar issues. It's such a shame as the atmosphere of course remains lovely, but I think from now on we will only frequent the Delauney, which maintains its standards.

Decided at the last minute to go for a afternoon tea with a friend, so as I couldn't book at my favourite place on the same day, we thought the value was good and the reviews were appealing. The restaurant was absolutely crowded and noisy, with lots of tourists. Not the kind of place you want to sit for an afternoon tea. The food was not bad, but also not special. Sandwiches, about 6 sweet items and scones. The best thing was the champagne! Lovely and cold. I'll stick to BB bakery in Covent Garden. A lot of variety, cute decor, very fresh food and a relaxing atmosphere. And if you want something truly special, go to the top places as the Gore hotel. Anyone who says this afternoon tea is great, they haven't tried a proper one.

The food was fabulous and the service was unbelievable; nothing was too much trouble and the staff were extremely attentive to the needs of myself and my partner. Although the restaurant was very busy it had a great vibe and you didn't feel like you were being rushed through your meal like you sometimes are in other places. It really was great.

Have been going to the Wolseley for years. You can't beat it for atmosphere, food or service. We wanted to increase our diners from 2 to 4 and were promised a call back. Sure enough Nathan took the trouble to call me back twice and we had the best table next to A+ List celebrities. Our guests are still talking about it. The food was superb. Rib eye cooked to perfection and the best chopped liver. Can't wait to return.

My friend's favourite restaurant, but I left disappointed. Starters were quite good but my wife and I were disappointed in our main courses. Rib-eye steak looked perfect - charred on the outside and pink in the middle, but somehow it was dry and had no flavour at all. I decided to go for a Weiner Schnitzel, wondering if it was possible to elevate it to something special but sadly not - it wasn't as crispy as it could be on the outside (meaning you could really taste the bread of the breadcrumbs) and seemed to be on a pool of liquid, possible balsamic, which left it bitter and soggy. I left half of it and it was whisked away without query from the previously attentive waiter, likewise when the bill came, no query whether we enjoyed our meal

Recently booked at The Wolseley at short notice for a party of three, one of whom is gluten intolerant, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. We were sat immediately upon arrival. Spectacular table, food and service. Very knowledgeable staff. Timing was at our leisure from arrival, from initial drinks through to three courses, and at no time did we feel rushed. Our first outing at The Wolseley, but definitely not our last. Well worth it!
