We were both really looking forward to coming here but left somewhat disappointed. To be honest the atmosphere in the restaurant felt somewhat cold and impersonal. The waiting staff kept kicking my chair as they passed me without any acknowledgement whatsoever. Starters of ham hock terrine and salmon were okay but the bread on the salmon was weird, chewy and tasteless and the terrine had no bread offered at all which was strange! The mains, sirloin steak had a strong smoky taste which was not to my liking but the fries and onion rings were good. Green salad was 4 pounds and was literally a bit of lettuce. We both finished with blueberry cheese cake which was divine! I don't think I would go out of my way to visit again. Quite average.

Waitress was aloof - training?, taking an order?, offering suggestions and giving a dam?. Thankfully the waiter that appeared in her absence took over did a great job to recover. Food -Croquette poor seasoning, Yorkshire pud & livers - oily pud, salty livers, salmon - soggy bread, un-crisp pickles, bleu steak arrived medium/well (replaced thankfully), onion rings-good , fries fantastic!, leaves with hazelnuts and cashel blue - tasty, condiments great array, beer/wine good. Cutlery bluntest steak knifes ever. We ate mid afternoon, perhaps high numbers of staff were just tired and bored, it happens.

We had an amazing dinner, but we had to wait almost two hours to be served! I booked a table for a group (we were 11) for 9pm and we received the food at around 10.30pm... It was very good (a bit overpriced, 1kg steak for 75£!), but the waiters were very nice anyway...

This was my second visit and it was as good as I'd remembered! We were a big group of 11. We ordered a variety of starters for everyone to share - they're very tasty and I think this was my favourite bit of my meal! Most of us had steak for our mains. One did get left off the order but this was quite quickly rectified. The wine was really nice and I really like the Tramshed as it has a great atmosphere but it isn't too loud - conversations still easily heard. We'll definitely go back again.

I thought the restaurant setting was lovely, write cool and trendy, food was gorgeous. This was let down by the service, they didn't recognize my booking and add such had an issue with open table and had to provide proof that I ate there. The waiting staff seemed more interested in a chat being the bar, so it took a while for us to get drinks, which is a shame because I was really looking forward to eating here.

it is so impressed, when i saw the picture of this restaurant, but later on, I felt a little uncomfortable, since u will eat a whole chicken up side down and face a big chicken specimen. Excellent Services, no doubts. good place for friends and families to have a meal, prices are reasonable. but extremely.......not suitable for vegetarian.

I went here with a group of colleagues the other day - we normally have the lunch specials and come here almost once a month. The food was fabulous as usual (although one sandwich was a bit cold), but the service was very slow. The wait staff seemed disorganised, which is not how it normally is. Not sure if there's new management? Anyway, we waited 20 minutes for our drinks, 45 minutes for our food, and as we were on our lunch break had to rush to eat in about 10 minutes. I can't fault the food though (steak sandwich is out of this world), so will definitely try again.

We had a lovely meal. It took a long time to place our order, which then meant our drinks arrived when we'd finished our starters. We would have ordered more drinks if there was attentive staff. We then waited another 30 minutes for someone to catch our eye for us to ask for the bill. We just ended up going to the front desk to pay ourselves. Not sure why we didn't just walk out without paying-no one would have noticed.

a poor experience. felt "taken for granted". worst table in the place at front door. made us feel "unwanted". no attention at service since the large group(s) seem to take priority over everything and everybody. why the sudden "discretionary" service charge of 12.5%?? nowhere indicated on your website or at time of reservation --- abusive for poor service ! will not be back after numeorus and good experiences. made felt bad to only odre meat and wine without appetizers, afterwards it was only down-hill. appalling for such a great place. lucky meat was very good, inspite of getting hardly 3 teaspoons full of bearnaise sauce for the 3 of us and had to ask 3 times for some more. the palce is a success so guest-care is secondary it appears.

Good food, great cocktails and amazing building. Barn-reared chicken is really unacceptable as sourcing locally and animal welfare should be high on the agenda certainly for a high end restaurant which the prices here would suggest! It's massively understaffed which means the staff while polite are rushed and abrupt. We did wait a while to get served. Even the front of house staff were fairly short. Also was charged service for buying a bottle of prosecco!

Despite the kids under 10 eating free.... not sure if the restaurant turns off the two animated Lesbians (a sort of animated artwork) in the toilet.... but that may give a few boys an eye opener. The food is quirky, a whole chicken, tastes great, with fries. The porterhouse is ok. The starters are ok, a bit hit and miss *(we had a big group and had all of them). For vegetarians - don't come. There are two choices and they aren't great. Its Quirky and cool to take new clients here, but once they have seen it, there is nothing to return for. The restaurant should do something new / exciting / different on the menu every year. But I guess its still busy... but unsure of how long it will last. Still if you haven't been -the chicken is excellent

This was a very disappointing experience. Lovely place but let down by the poor food. There were four of us and we ordered a chicken for 2/3 to share, and upgraded the chips to vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Unfortunately there was only a teaspoon of stuffing in the chicken. We also ordered a chicken salad for one of our party, which was barely adequate. The chicken was tasty but small and there were not enough vegetables. We then ordered the fondue to share, the cost of which was £14.50 for 4 marshmallows, 12 cherries and a small pot of sauce - absolutely outrageous. The cocktails were ok, nothing special. We will not return.

I love Mark Hix restaurants, but the food at Tramshed was appalling. Limited menu, I know. I had half chicken sandwich and half beef sandwich for lunch. They were SO STINGY with the chicken it didn't even cover the bread. Beef sandwich was nothing to write home about. Basically, my lunch tasted like bread sandwich. They have a lot of chicken there, so why don't they put it on the bread? I would have been embarassed to serve a guest the food I was served.

The post-industrial setting has been tastefully converted. Right, that's the good part over. Tables: crammed together. Barely three inches separated our tiny square table from our neighbours' tables either side - a good thing my date is slim. Food: Pigmy chicken was tasty, but smothered in a cook-in sauce remarkable only for its blandness. Starters and sides of derisory quantity. Left hungry (notwithstanding £88 bill for two) and disappointed.

Second time of dining at Tramshed and I must admit the experience was as enjoyable as our first visit. We shared one of their 1kg steaks a little pricey at £65, however this was washed down with a very acceptable Tempranillo priced at under £19.00. Swings and roundabouts I guess. The restaurant has a good buzz about the place suited to dinning with groups of friends and families. Should you have time before or after your meal it's worth paying a visit to the art gallery downstairs.

The menu is limited but if you like steak and/or chicken then Tramshed is definately worth a visit. We shared a range of starters - the croquets were truly outstanding and then followed with two steaks. The quality of the meat was excellent and it was perfectly cooked. We didn't have the chicken but will certainly try it next time around The venue is large and open plan so probably not the place for a romantic dinner but as a place to go to share with friends then it is perfect.

I've always loved Tramshed and have eaten there 6-7 times. There was quite a gap between the last two times I went-last time we found broken glass in a side dish. They offered free desserts as compensation which I didn't think sufficient, however the rest of the party were happy to accept. I ate there again this week and I'm sorry to say it has much dis-improved. They've let the quality slide and there wasn't much finesse to the cooking; over-cooked dry chicken; grey & limp buttered greens (distinctly lacking in butter) among other things. Service wasn't bad however, but lacking in energy. Overall the place has lost it's spirit and love, very disappointing. Most likely they're relying on the art rather than food to draw in crowds these days
