Diner Reviews
  • " The restaurant looks really cool, the chicken is served on a spic upside down with its feet in the air so for presentation they get 5 stars. Food tastes good, service was attentive. I did mention it was my partners birthday and they didn't say anything or even write happy birthday on his dessert plate so that was a shame. But all in all, I've had better food for the price ( I think others may agree as it was very quiet) but a nice restaurant with tasty grub. 4 stars!"

  • "Went to Tramshed for dinner on saturday night with friends. We were a bit worried about the 2 hour limit, but in the end we didn't feel rushed and had plenty of time. The food was fantastic, both steaks and chicken, and we absolutely loved the salted caramel fondue. Service was relaxed and friendly. We'll definitely be back."

  • "Great food, good service nice atmosphere and our family from Oz thought it was great"

  • "Great Porterhouse steak enough for 3 people. Starters are quite small though. Overall great value."
    dined on 16/07/2014
  • "We got a sharing steak and the quality was outstanding, a few others got the steak alone and this wasn't as good or nice as what we had. Staff are friendly and explain everything, and the restaurant itself is good to be at. We had a booth as there was a few of us which was really enjoyable."
    dined on 16/07/2014
  • "Fantastic venue - the high ceilings, long bar and interesting bathrooms are enough to make this place to must see! Starters were a tad disappointing, stirloin was a little over done - albeit the caramel fondue dessert and the wine were both fabulous."

  • "Great atmosphere and decor, delicious food and friendly staff. We'll definitely be back!"

  • "I had a business lunch at Tramshed and it wasn't the best as it was difficult to hear each other over the table in the booth. The food was tasty but neither the starter nor main filled me up and I left hungry. The bubble and squeak was yummy."
    dined on 16/07/2014
  • "Excellent food, excellent service, couldn't recommend it enough."
    dined on 14/07/2014
  • "Great venue and service. We shared a whole chicken which was nice but it is afterall just chicken and chips."
    dined on 14/07/2014
  • "quality of food poor IMHO. Waited for my steak salad after the chicken and steak served to the others. Was told steak would be hot, then when I asked once it was served was then told 'room temperature'. So room temp + max air con = cold. Crispy onions = thick and stodgy onion rings (also cold). One of the group v underwhelmed with chicken. Would not go back."
    dined on 10/07/2014
  • "Great value and quality for an Express menu. Only one option is the only drawback."
    dined on 10/07/2014
  • "Definitely recommend to have steak here, it would not hurt to be a but cheaper, I would come more often :)"

  • "Great setting and great food! The Hurst is clearly the talking point, until the food arrives!"
    dined on 08/07/2014
  • "1kg beef is good size to share with 2-3 people and the most tasty beef I have eaten in London so far. Whipped chicken liver (starter) was so soft & delicious. Can't wait to try other dishes next time."
    dined on 06/07/2014
  • "Good dining experience, nice venue with attentive waiters. Amazing chicken liver pate with yorkshire pud starter. We got the porter house steak and asked for med-rare. The middle area which was more medium than rare tasted great, however the outter areas were well overcooked to the point where we had to leave it. I would suggest to get the porthouse as rare if you like med-rare. Amazing chips too! Would have been perfect if we got to enjoy the whole steak."
    dined on 04/07/2014
  • "Came here for the lunch menu, which offers a steak or chicken or half & half sandwich with chips for under a tenner - great value! Really tasty. I think I'll go back to try the whole chicken and chips for 2-3 to share - it looks delicious. Really big, open place which is very bright and airy. It would be great for a meal with a big group of friends or colleagues."

    dined on 29/06/2014
  • "Party of 6 having dinner on a special occasion, knowing the booking was for 2 hours from the beginning. The waitress had to keep reminding us this constantly! We felt unnecessarily rushed and un-welcomed. Left within 2 hours noting 40% of the tables were still empty."
    dined on 27/06/2014
  • "Godd concept and menu, let down by execution. The Yorkshire pudding starter was stodgy and soggy, the chips that came with the chicken weren't that hot, although the croquettes were excellent."
    dined on 26/06/2014
  • "One good rib steak, one thin and fatty rib steak. Service was poor. Got the impression the tip was included so they didn't care. When we were leaving the restaurant the three ladies on the front desk were engrossed in a conversation with each other and didn't look up to say good night or thank you. I eat out at least twice a week in good restaurants so I do know what I should expect as regards service."
    dined on 25/06/2014
  • "Had the sharing steak, it was perfection. Chickens going out looked really good so I'll have to go back."
    dined on 24/06/2014
  • "We had the Cock & Bull Sandwich for Lunch with the tramshed Red wine, both were gorgeous. We had a lovely comfy booth with a very attentive waiter. Can't wait for our next lunch!"
    dined on 24/06/2014
  • "We had to all squeeze together on the corner of our huge table so we could hear each other. Only this way did our evening resemble an inmate group dinner experience in some form. The girls on reception aren't the friendliest, forthcoming people I have ever met. Steak was great. Dessert saved the day. Hot salted caramel with marsh mellows and donuts. Wickedly good."
    dined on 23/06/2014
  • "We really enjoyed the food here and the service was good. The sirloin steak was cooked to perfection."
    dined on 21/06/2014
  • "Such a good feed - I've been here a couple of times and the food always impresses. Fun venue too."

  • "This place is great for it's food presentation, the food & going with a big group or just a quick bite to eat!! Love!!"
    dined on 17/06/2014
  • "Dining experience usually includes not just delicious food but also its presentation and the ambiance. This place have it all - goes to show, sometimes simplicity is all it takes - the menu looks simple but I'm sure there's a lot of effort put in making sure its one of a kind experience eating at Tramshed - the Damien Hirst artwork says it all I supposed."
    dined on 17/06/2014
  • "I booked a table for 11 for a birthday celebration. The service was excellent but the food was overpriced for what you got. We ordered the steak to share (for 2-3 people the menu stated) but for the guys this was not enough and really they could have finished one on their own! The menu said children eat free for age 10 and under up until 6pm but we had three kids in this age bracket and got charged for all three. The food was good but very overpriced compared to other restaurants in London - For 7 adults and three children the bill was £577 which for what he had I felt was too much. The building is quirky and you have a great peice of art in the centre of the restaurant so worth a look."

  • "Booked a table for Father's Day on Sunday 15 June. Arrived early so popped downstairs to the gallery, which was most enjoyable. Staff very welcoming and made the meal a total pleasure. Children eat free from 12 pm. We ordered a whole chicken between 2 of us, our daughter had buttermilk fried chicken served with iceberg lettuce. Chicken was served with chips. We ordered 3 sides. The chicken was juicy and delicious with the carcass full of stuffing, served with gravy on the side. We enjoyed bottle wine and finished off with a small chocolate cake which was delicious. We travelled from Liverpool just for this treat and it was worth the journey."
    dined on 15/06/2014
  • "Although fairly pricey, this was the best steak I have eaten in 50 years!"
    dined on 14/06/2014
  • "Ordered the 1kg Porterhouse Steak to share. However, Beware that you don't actually get 1kg worth of meat as it comes on a hefty peice of bone and was pretty fatty too. Along side this our medium-rare steaks was too over cooked and way too dry for our liking. Friend had the chicken and again was over cooked and dry. Would not return."
    dined on 14/06/2014
  • "We went for a Friday dinner, and ordered a porterhouse and a whole chicken for 4 ppl (1 guy and 3 girls) and all four dishes. Side dishes are the worst I have ever seen, lettece salad are very quickly prepared and the vegetable greens are not cooked well.... And portions are very small....Steak is ok, but not worth £75 at all... A bit of disappointed"
    dined on 13/06/2014
  • "This place never ceases to deliver. Always fantastically friendly and helpful staff and food is never below par."
    dined on 13/06/2014
  • "Went to Tramshed for an informal client lunch and it delivered on service, food and ambience, even though being a hot summers day and one full of sporting action meant it was a little quieter than we were expecting. We were told that evenings are fully booked, 3 covers a night, but far more relaxed for lunch."
    dined on 13/06/2014
  • "Great chicken, I highly recommend the place. We had the chicken as it was highly rated in previous reviews, it was fantastic, very juicy. Great stuffing and gravy and the gravy was lovely."
    dined on 13/06/2014
  • "They had some great starters on offer - the offal ragu was great, the croquette was overpriced for a single croquette, as was the moon beer meat stick thing (salami). The mains were chicken or steak, which I thought were overpriced. The 250g rib steak was good, but the cut was too thin. Still, it was cooked perfectly. The salted caramel fondu at the end had too much salt, but was otherwise nice. The toilets...well, have a look for yourselves (not negative in any way, just interesting)."
    dined on 11/06/2014
  • "I love coming to Tramshed their steak and chicken is delicious. Eating under a huge Damien Hirst is fun too!"
    dined on 10/06/2014
  • "Disapointed with Tramshed. Although its a large buzzy room, in the heart of trendy, techie Shoreditch the food lets it down. Prawn cocktail and ham salad starters were dull offerings, served on small flat plates, without bread - which seems oddly mean, as several artisan bakeries are close by. Main gripe though - was the meat. It was cooked okay, but it just lacked flavor - was a bit dry and tasteless. Maybe it is the "Himalayan salt chamber" - whatever the hell that is, that apparently the meat is kept in. The accompaniments were OK, but only OK. Deserts - we opted for the salted caramel fondue for to share, and a credit crunch ice cream. The former sounded good on the menu - but was a bit of rip for what it was. Ice cream was nice. Poor."
    dined on 09/06/2014
  • "The Tramshed is an impressive looking restaurant, however the food and price unfortunately does not match, I have had much better pub lunches."
