Diner Reviews
  • "2nd visit to the Tramshed this time with the kids after a day out in London. Service from our waiter was excellent and patient Kids enjoyed the experience and the surrounding as well as tucking into the chicken. Will be going back again soon"

  • "Despite the kids under 10 eating free.... not sure if the restaurant turns off the two animated Lesbians (a sort of animated artwork) in the toilet.... but that may give a few boys an eye opener. The food is quirky, a whole chicken, tastes great, with fries. The porterhouse is ok. The starters are ok, a bit hit and miss *(we had a big group and had all of them). For vegetarians - don't come. There are two choices and they aren't great. Its Quirky and cool to take new clients here, but once they have seen it, there is nothing to return for. The restaurant should do something new / exciting / different on the menu every year. But I guess its still busy... but unsure of how long it will last. Still if you haven't been -the chicken is excellent"

  • "Had a great lunch here with my wife. Had the crab starter, chicken burger + chips followed by chocolate brownie and coffee. Service was attentive but not over the top. I really liked the surroundings...it really is an old tram shed with many of the original features. Would definately recommend to others and can't wait to return"
    dined on 26/08/2014
  • "Food was great but it's an expensive meal for what it is and the service is very poor, does match the price ticket"
    dined on 25/08/2014
  • "A dining experience worth to mention! Everything was exciting : the service, the food, the atmosphere , the gallery ."

  • "I've been at Tramshed last sunday evening with family and we have enjoyed a good dinner with very good service. Above all, particular attention to my wife who is intollerant to gluten. Thank you very much"
    dined on 24/08/2014
  • "Short menu. The meat was well cooked. Dessert (summer pudding) was too big portion and was ok but far from being as good as the chocolate mousse I had 3 weeks before."
    dined on 23/08/2014
  • "I love Mark Hix restaurants, but the food at Tramshed was appalling. Limited menu, I know. I had half chicken sandwich and half beef sandwich for lunch. They were SO STINGY with the chicken it didn't even cover the bread. Beef sandwich was nothing to write home about. Basically, my lunch tasted like bread sandwich. They have a lot of chicken there, so why don't they put it on the bread? I would have been embarassed to serve a guest the food I was served."
    dined on 22/08/2014
  • "Second time at Tramshed with some friends who hadn't been before - one was even vegetarian. As with before, the food was great - superbly cooked chicken, and I heard the beef was cooked really well too. Love this venue & the ambience - such a good buzzing atmosphere. Service was top too!"
    dined on 21/08/2014
  • "My wife and I went to the Tramshed on a friends recommendation. Service, Food and Atmosphere were all very good, was a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back. Would have rated it 5 apart from my wife's steak was a little rarer than we would have liked, the staff took it back without question and gave it more time under the grill and gave us new fresh chips with it for our trouble"
    dined on 20/08/2014
  • "My girlfriend took me here for my birthday because she knew I loved chicken. This restaurant had the best chicken and sides I have ever eaten. Would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone."
    dined on 20/08/2014
  • "Great chicken with stuffing! The chicken was so moist and the stuffing wonderfully tasty. Be aware if you are ordering this dish because you love stuffing, there is only a tiny bit of it. Tramshed was fun and lively without being too loud. The service was great."
    dined on 17/08/2014
  • "Second time of dining at Tramshed and I must admit the experience was as enjoyable as our first visit. We shared one of their 1kg steaks a little pricey at £65, however this was washed down with a very acceptable Tempranillo priced at under £19.00. Swings and roundabouts I guess. The restaurant has a good buzz about the place suited to dinning with groups of friends and families. Should you have time before or after your meal it's worth paying a visit to the art gallery downstairs."
    dined on 17/08/2014
  • "Amazing food, great staff, fantastic artwork and really good value."
    dined on 16/08/2014
  • "The location is great. The food is very good too but I am struggling to decide if it's value for money. I had a sirloin steak which was ok but had better steaks at different restaurants. The sides were good."
    dined on 15/08/2014
  • "The menu is limited but if you like steak and/or chicken then Tramshed is definately worth a visit. We shared a range of starters - the croquets were truly outstanding and then followed with two steaks. The quality of the meat was excellent and it was perfectly cooked. We didn't have the chicken but will certainly try it next time around The venue is large and open plan so probably not the place for a romantic dinner but as a place to go to share with friends then it is perfect."
    dined on 13/08/2014
  • "I love the Tramshed, great cocktail list although slightly pricey, food brilliant very tasty, venue clean, stylish and fabulous."
    dined on 13/08/2014
  • "Spottede this place on the internet, where a picture of the cow in formaldehyde caught my eye. We wanted meat and thats what we got. Nice surroundings, but quite noisy. Some work into noise-reduction of the building would suit the place nicely."
    dined on 12/08/2014
  • "I've always loved Tramshed and have eaten there 6-7 times. There was quite a gap between the last two times I went-last time we found broken glass in a side dish. They offered free desserts as compensation which I didn't think sufficient, however the rest of the party were happy to accept. I ate there again this week and I'm sorry to say it has much dis-improved. They've let the quality slide and there wasn't much finesse to the cooking; over-cooked dry chicken; grey & limp buttered greens (distinctly lacking in butter) among other things. Service wasn't bad however, but lacking in energy. Overall the place has lost it's spirit and love, very disappointing. Most likely they're relying on the art rather than food to draw in crowds these days"
    dined on 11/08/2014
  • "I love steak... I've had countless top steaks from countless top restaurants but I have to say our steak from The Tramsheds was one of the best. Perfectly cooked and incredible flavour. I had a 500gram Rib and wow, I couldn't move. Also try the salt and vinegar onion rings... Very special."
    dined on 10/08/2014
  • "Great roast chicken, enormous Yorkshire puddings, excellent Bloody Mary. This hit the spot."
    dined on 10/08/2014
  • "And never have nobody eaten such tasteful delighting chicken with feet on in the evenings of this summer forever. Tastes like no other fried being and its not fried but roasted in the succulentest herbs and movingly well presented. The man carved like a true sculpter and sawed like an angel. Enough to feed and more to please with desserts being almighty thanking the lord wow a cow in a tank - watch that formaldehyde, it's rippling!"

  • "We booked this restaurant after our first choice was fully booked for the night of our visit. There were 8 of us in our group but we were easily accommodated in the restaurant, the cavern that is the restaurant space made our party look like a table of 4. The staff there were very well trained, and were attentive without being over bearing. We arrived early (as I confused the booking time!) but we were looked after in the bar area, the cocktails were pretty good (Dalston Ice Tea and Dalston Donkey) but would steer clear of the dirty martini drink...luckily enough this wasn't mine, but had a sip. The art piece provides a good talking point, and the wine was fabulous. Highly recommend and would certainly go back"

  • "I have been to Tramshed a couple of times now and have a good experience on both occasions. The food is simple, but great and the service fantastic. Ambience is great too. Would highly recommend it."

  • "Really enjoyed the service and the presentation of food. Shared a whole chicken. Not much to chose from however it does it very well. Our chicken had flavour and the stuffing was great. Sauces and gravy to complement too. Wacky gents toilets. If you get a chance too. Head into the gallery. We did. Tramshed also features Damien Hirst art."
    dined on 09/08/2014
  • "So refreshing to see a 'trendy' restaurant cater for children too, whilst still maintaining an adult atmosphere. My daughter loved the colouring and sitting in a booth and being only nearly 2, loved the cow. The free food for under 10s is incredible. And the chicken. Just amazing."
    dined on 09/08/2014
  • "A very friendly place to eat with a good atmosphere. A good menu with excellent steaks and well presented food. The whole place has a pleasant informality and the buzz of good atmosphere."
    dined on 06/08/2014
  • "Went for a birthday meal with my boyfriend. Ordered the porterhouse steak (1kg) - absolutely enormous and perfectly cooked. Nice veggies ( yorkshire slighly too cooked for my liking however) and cool art including the enormous Damien Hurst right in the middle. Waitress was very attentive and even cut out steak for us. Great meal and great service. Will definitely return."
    dined on 03/08/2014
  • "I finally managed to visit the famous Tramshed restaurant and thought it was really good. The selection of beers and wine is superb, as well as the quality of the steak. I think the atmosphere makes the restaurant a really cool and chilled place to hang out with good friends. Can't wait to go back!"
    dined on 02/08/2014
  • "We had a lovely meal as a family group. The food was excellent well cooked, fresh and full of flavour. The ambience was great and the staff were efficient and friendly. The only negative point was that we were aware that we only had the table for two hours and had finished 5 minutes early and were waiting for our waitress to come over to ask for the bill, when we were told by a manager we had to leave the table. This could have been handled so much better and not left us with a negative impression, with what up to then had been a great evening."
    dined on 02/08/2014
  • "Took some visiting Chinese friends to Tramshed for dinner and just had the perfect meal. After some light starters we shared a chicken and 1kg rib eye steak among the four of us. Best steak and most flavoursome chicken breast ever was the verdict. Bill only came to £150 for four of us, so amazing value as well. Would definitely go again and recommend."

  • "Steak was good but the chicken and everything else we had was underwhelming."
    dined on 30/07/2014
  • "My first trip to Tramshed and I'll definitely return. The staff were incredibly friendly and informative and the light and airy space made sure you didn't feel couped up."
    dined on 29/07/2014
  • "Good options for light lunch as well as big steak/chicken if you fancy it. Great service."

  • "I love the atmosphere of this place. the staff is always friendly and great and the food is good."
    dined on 28/07/2014
  • "Been have a few times now and always leave very full! The chicken is great, the chips even better."
    dined on 28/07/2014
  • "Nice meal for meat eaters. Steak was lovely, but would love a few more options on sauces to accompany. Other than that good meal"
    dined on 28/07/2014
  • "Great location and atmosphere, food is good but not amazing. It was brought out as quickly as Nandos."
    dined on 26/07/2014
  • "The restaurant is lots of fun, portions great. Simple choices that can't go wrong and you can't help but smile at the Cow and Chicken hanging above you. Looking forward to next time"
    dined on 25/07/2014
  • "We enjoyed our evening food-wise, but have to say the air conditioning was blasting onto us (even after requesting it to be down), almost to the point it was the focus for the evening... The food itself and service was very good - something different and impressive, but watch those bench seats where the aircon is right overhead and too powerful."
