I've been to Villiers Terrace in the evening and the food and service is great, the deco is lovely- but avoid it like the plague at the weekend unless you want somewhere to take your badly behaved children and dogs. Sunday lunch completely ruined by kids walking their dog around the dining room and screaming new-borns. At least one couple left straight away after they'd surveyed the scene. I wish we had. The ladies toilets are filthy too and covered in graffiti. But the food is very good indeed, so it's a real shame.

I've had drinks here before but never eaten. I'm glad that I've now changed this as we had a delicious meal last night. Our main courses were very well cooked and really full of flavour. I had a dessert which was presented in a lovely way and was equally lovely to taste. We will definitely return - maybe for the Thursday night steak special.

Not busy at all as a Monday night but nice atmosphere and have eaten here on a few previous occasions. Although food was better than average, I thought it overpriced for what it was and seems to be creeping up price wise.. Good size portions. Toilet facilities could do with improving. Service was attentive. Enjoyable evening out with some girlfriends.

Dined on a Saturday eve - poor waitress service - wasnt informed what the soup of the day was, asked for a bottle of wine and was served a glass of wine, given that it was quiet I felt the service could have been better. I thought the food was over priced and very limited selection - no specials on a Saturday eve Good ambience at the bar

We went on a fairly quiet Saturday night however they has run out of burgers & only had 1 steak left. However there was a good variety of choices on the menu. Food was very good but main course came up a but too swiftly after the starter. Service was very good, informative & helpful. Would definitely recommend & will return.

We have move to the area a short while ago and now are testing the pubs and restaurants there. Villiers Terrace is a gastropub with a menu mostly upscale pub food but with some very nice twists and some other asian influences (for example, miso marinated cod). The food was very nice, the dining area nice - wooden tables, leather chairs, fireplace... While go there again.

Lovely cosy pub with an open fire. Great service. Food was ok but not outstanding. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

This was my second visit to Villiers Terrace for Sunday lunch. Our starters and desserts were of a very high standard but the main courses, although adequate were quite ordinary. For the second time, my roast potatoes weren't cooked properly, although the rest was fine. The wine was very good. The service is helpful and friendly and the ambience pleasant although, the room where we ate was a bit cramped. We did enjoy our meal and would return.

Unfortunately a very poor experience. The food was average. The waiting staff were overly keen to take our orders and then just forgot about us. It was really difficult to get their attention (the dining area we sat in was small so there was no excuse to just ignore us). It was not good value for money. The starters were shocking - one dish was basically a small fig cut in 4, a miserly portion of feta chese and some thinly sliced beetroot.

It was a rainy evening but the warm greeting and general atmosphere upon arrival welcomed us. The service was attentive and friendly, but not too obtrusive. The food was excellent - we shared a started of hummus with grilled beef which was divine and then our mains were equally as tasty - pork belly and chicken with chrizo. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert but we will definitely be back!

Villiers Terrace were accommodating to us because of our baby. Food was lovely and filling. Changing facilities in the ladies toilets were ever so slightly impractical as they block the end toilet stall.

  • We've been to Villiers Terrace
    OpenTable Diner Since 2014

We've been to Villiers Terrace before, mostly in winter time. It's definitely more of a pub than many gastropubs, in a good way. Decor is sort of quirky and relaxed, nothing matches, lots of old stuff. This evening it was just warm enough to sit outside and have a salad main course - smoked chicken and spiced walnuts - and a decent bottle of white wine. Fab salad with good flavours and a nice finish to the weekend.

  • Definitely worth a revisit
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

As soon as you walk into Villiers Terrace you are greeted with an eclectic decor which somehow works and is welcoming. We were greeted immediately and given a choice of tables. Initially service was a little slow (maybe due to it being Mothers Day lunch) but once we'd told them we were short of time the service improved nicely. The starters were exceptional, beautifully presented and very tasty. The main courses (Roast as it was Sunday lunch) were also very good, not the best I've ever tasted but definitely worth a revisit. Overall a gem of a local restaurant. If I lived in the area I'd undoubtedly become a regular.
