I organised a dinner for ten for a Saturday evening, and Vivat Bacchus came up trumps. The steak&chips&wine deal was excellent value, and the restaurant catered for our group really well. Great service, great food, and great atmosphere. We'll be back!

i was on a medium sized table and half of us ordered steak medium rare, which came over cooked. I thought the meal was ok, but there was nothing which stood out. in regards to taste. However the staff were very attentive and overall the experience was fine.

Vivat B offered a good lunch menu for a business occasion. The menu and wine list had a good offering and was fairly priced for the quality. The steak was well cooked and the starter ceviche was excellent. The dessert panne cotta had not set properly and was sub-par. Overall, the service by the staff was top and the hostess checked that everything was to our liking which was a nice touch. Would go back for a quick business lunch.

Went for a celebration dinner with a fellow cheese and wine enthusiast and it did not disappoint. While it is fairly expensive (a cheese board, charcuterie board and bottle of house red sets you back almost £90 for two), it is worth it to head down into the cheese room and study the vast array of cheese they have on offer.

After a mad dash around Greenwich we headed back West and I am so glad that we chose Vivat Bacchus as our dinner stop. Service was snappy and friendly, the starters (wild mushrooms on toast, beef carpaccio, Queen scallop ceviche and Burrata di Puglia) set the scene beautifully and the mains delivered big time (Black label burger, double Black label burger, springbok burger, Grilled halloumi, Wild sea trout). Puddings were a delight. We had a thoroughly enjoyable couple of hours and will return ... maybe the Calamari Steaks next time.

I really liked steak for 2 priced at £45, it was well cooked and presented. I found chips to be dry and was not impressed with their quality. They were too long and not crunchy. It would be good if waitress mentioned to us that no salad comes with it. I did not like my desert (ice cream) it was presented in a long cup and melted straight away.

Booked Vivat Bacchus for a Saturday night dinner when I had family visiting from out of town. The restaurant was busy and there was good atmosphere. I hadn't realised there would be a live jazz band, that was a great addition. The food was nothing to write home about. It was nice, but nothing special. The cheese board was very good though. If I went back, I'd probably just go for wine and cheese and would have a very enjoyable evening!

My first time here, went here with my friend for post work catch up for cheese and wine. We ordered the cheese board and we we're allow to go into the cheese room to test and choose cheese on the board. The lady that helped was great in recommending different types. It was good value for money and the service was great. I would be definitely visiting again.

I have long been a fan of Vivat Bacchus in Farringdon (and the original Browns in Johannesburg!) but this was the first time I visited London Bridge. I tried to order the burger medium rare and was told that it only came well done! Apparently the meat is minced and frozen elsewhere and they couldn't guarantee the quality enough to serve it rare. This was astounding for a restaurant that is a stone's throw from Borough Market and all the organic produce. I ended up ordering the fishcake which was clearly not freshly made. Hard edges, dry salmon and no taste. 'Triple' cooked chips were soggy and raw in the middle. I would highly recommend eating elsewhere in the area which is now a foodie mecca.

Me and my boyfriend (Born and raised south african) visited on Saturday for an evening meal. Both the fillet steak and the springbok burger were delicious. The wine is excellent, I suggest the south african cab sav for £35. The waiting staff were excellent and efficient- our water glasses were never empty throughout the meal. There was also live music in the form of a double bass player which added a lovely ambience to the evening. I definitely want to go back and sample the cheeses in the dedicated cheese room and some more of that lovely wine! Recommended!!.

Had a very enjoyable night at Vivat Bacchus, we were initially sat in a loud area but after asking to be moved we were moved to a quieter table nearer to the window. My colleague had the mushroom starter which he really enjoyed and I had the carpaccio which was very good. We both had the steak and it was very well presented and extremely tasty, the quality of beef was outstanding and cooked just to our liking served along with a tasty rocked and parmesan salad. The cheese room afterwards was enjoyable but make sure you are happy with the price before you accept!

I've been to the restaurant before but this visit was a little disappointing because the waitress just seems to make my guests feel uncomfortable. Perhaps she wasn't having a great day. Food was ok but waitress wasn't able to make suitable recommendations. When I received my main course, the fish cake just came with a few pieces of spinach. Hence I ordered more side dish after the main course was served. Overall it's fine but there's room for improvement.

Steak and chips + glass of wine for £15 was a bit dissapointing. Food was nice but very small portion which means you end up adding several sides which are overpriced. When I received the bill I felt the over all meal was poor value for money.

Must say, I had a great experience at Vivat Bacchus... I ordered the Lamb Gigot Steak... And for the price £15 I was surprised at the size of the meat... Typically lamb dishes are expensive with small portions so getting a decently sized lamb steak was a nice change. Service was top notch - guys came round promptly for drinks order, and also regularly to check everything was ok, and if I wanted more. Will definitely re-visit this place again soon.

Ate outside as it was a nice sunny day. The restaurant is on a back street near London Bridge station so should be reasonably peaceful for central London, however we had a helicopter overhead a lot of the time, which didn't help (not the restaurant's fault of course). Food was flavoursome, although the grilled prawns my colleague had were overcooked and hard to shell. My rib-eye steak was rather thin and was also overcooked (I asked for rare and it came medium) although tasted good. Another colleague had the same steak and asked for medium-rare and it was medium too. Wine fairly pricey by the glass (£8-10). Service was fine. Didn't really see the inside or experience the ambience so can't comment on that.

My friends love cheese so as a going away meal is was lovely to share the experience with them. The knowledge of the cheese was and the way it is presented was amazing. The ambience of the restuarant was lovely with a live band who weren't too loud, creating a great ambience. Couldn't fault the food, all in all a great experience and didn't realise how long we had been sat and drinking as we had such an amazing time. Will definately be back in the future

Restaurant was very lively and noisy mainly due to a large group booking but I like that, my partner did not. The food came out quickly, the service was good so overall a successful meal.
