  • "We had a voucher for a two course meal. Just as well as the food was barely worth the discounted price. No atmosphere. Would not consider returning!"

  • "Had 3 courses for six. Menu wording made us expect good quality food & cooking. This was not the case. The scalops were very good and hake was well cooked, but everything else was no more than OK. Chicken was not good, sweet potatoes missing, bread was chewly and elastic (too long in microwave ?) do you even call this bread? No salt on table. Lasagna OK, deserts tiramitsu OK , chocolate torte with coulis & rasberries - not great quality chocolate, dot of coulis, no rabs! White choc creme brule, OK no more. Bill ended up being much more than expected, a lot of + in menu : over 30 per pers, no winw. All together, Either pay a bit more for choice & quality, or choose a restaurent with simpler menu but that delivers the quality"

  • "our visit to the restaurant was overall very good including the service and ambiance as good and the food was excellant. The only disappointant was because it was quiet the waitres was too eager by coming to our take orders before we were ready, and also as a result of it being quiet the ambience was not as good as usual."

  • "Went to zucca after my graduation . There were 5 of us including a 10 year old child. Everyone's meal was lovely .we didn't have one complaint and at 17.95 for 3 courses it was great value for money for a city restaurant"

  • "Had pre concert dinner before going to the Usher Hall for the Paulo Nutini gig. Food was good value for money. Surprised that they had run out of Pinot Grigio but had a nice Gavi di Gavi instead. Warm welcome and good service. Will be back."

  • "The staff and food of this Italian were very good, dinner for two. The food was served really hot which we like, the red wine at room temperature and the staff were really nice without being intrusive. relaxed atmosphere."
    dined on 17/05/2014
  • "We had dinner from the pre theater menu. The starters were good, but the mains were not great. When we ordered desserts, we were told there was no more creme brulee, but as we were leaving, we heard someone order the creme brulee and saw some in the pastry case. My impression is that an excellent "food stylist" created a menu that was prepared by a second rate kitchen."

  • "Convenient for the theatre and a really nice meal too."

  • "Always an imaginative and changing menu on each visit. Well presented and a wonderful adventure to the taste buds. The fish dishes are recommended for either starter and/or main dish. To complete, an excellent choice of deserts. Great value for money from a very friendly team."

  • "Three of us had a very nice lunch. One of us is a vegetarian and her choices were excellent. We were the only table after some others left, but we gathered that they catered for a lot of people attending the theatre that this restaurant is connected to."

  • "It's the perfect evening. Outstanding music at the Usher Hall and delicious food at Zucca before we go. Given how busy the restaurant is, pre concert and theatre dining works very well. The menu is well balanced and good value and the staff friendly and attentive."

  • "This is convenient when going to the Lyceum thatre, they're in the same building. Don't expect "Italian food" like pizza or spaghetti, this restaurant is quite classy and serves interesting international dishes."

  • "A friend and I wanted a quickish early evening meal pre-theatre. I have been to Zucca before and always found them reliable and good value menu. Felt they had upped their game this time with an interesting menu, good range of options, veggie and non veggie and the portion size seems to have increased. Very satisfied."

    dined on 28/03/2014
  • "We were given such a nice welcome. Staff helpful and quietly friendly. We were at Zucca, not for the first time, for lunch before theatre matinee. Soup with smoked fish was outstanding (cock-a-leekie?) and a glass of white wine was delicious. You step out of the restaurant and find yourself in the Lyceum Theatre. Magic. Definitely to be recommended."

  • "Would have given service 5 stars had it not taken forever to change a barrel. Enjoyed our pre concert meal very much. Love the central location. Happy to recommend to friends n family, in fact we already have. Will be back. Thankyou."

  • "Another excellent pre-concert meal at Zucca. A variation on cullen skink to start was just what was needed on a cold evening. We followed it with plaice roasted on the bone, expertly cooked, and accompanied by capers and broccoli. A chocolate tart with raspberries completed a fine meal. The fixed menu is very good value for money too."

  • "Tasty food; attentive service; value for money. Impressive wine list at reasonable prices."

  • "Very good value pre theatre meal. We were there on a Tuesday night and the place was buzzing. Great service. Will be back."
    dined on 04/03/2014
  • "An interesting and varied pre-theatre menu, with several vegetarian options, but allow plenty of time as the restaurant is usually busy on Lyceum Theatre nights."
    dined on 04/03/2014
  • "As a regular customer, this is the first time I have been disappointed. The restaurant was full which I think caused the problem as service was very slow and we had to remind staff that we were going to the Theatre and really needed our main courses quickly. When they did eventually arrive, we had to bolt the food down and rush off. Not exactly the relaxed pre theatre experience I was looking for. There were only two table in the restaurant when we arrived and we were going to be allocated the worst table in the room at the top of the stairs but I asked for the other free table which looked to be better, however, there was a terrible draught coming from the air conditioning which was quite uncomfortable."
    dined on 01/03/2014
  • "Had a lovely meal here.food very good. Portions just right, service good also, could maybe have been a little quicker. Whoever we didn't feel rushed at all. Would defo recommend. I would certainly consider eating at Zucca again."

  • "Very tasty and beautifully presented lunch in pleasant, lively surroundings. An ideal prelude to an afternoon at the Royal Lyceum, of which it forms a part. Made for a delightful afternoon."

  • "This was my third visit to Zucca and I wasn't disappointed. The food was excellent and great value for money."

  • "The food here was amazing. I had a tuna steak salad to start and rib eye as main. They were 2 of the best plates of food I've ever had."
    dined on 22/02/2014
  • "Me and my partner decided to dine here for our anniversary. They have a short menu not a huge amount of choice. However, I would go back as the steak was one of the best i've had. The service was good but could have been better. My partner ordered veg as a side which didn't arrive. It arrived much later but they were nice enough and didn't charge us for it. Overall a good place to eat. it is attached to the Lyceum. and they do a great pre-theatre menu."
    dined on 21/02/2014
  • "We booked online and read the great reviews . The food was excellent. Very tasty and all freshly cooked. Great service by the staff who were friendly and attentive. More quality than quantity. Would recommend to anyone who wants a great meal."
    dined on 15/02/2014
  • "We were there on valentines day so it was very busy. We got seated as soon as we came in. Got the menu straight away as well but had to wait for 15 min until someone came to take our order. After ordering though the food came really quickly. For a 21pound bottle of Chardonnay I would have expected a bit more but overall it was a really nice evening with great food! The quality of the food was outstanding! Unfortunately it did not look very nice. I had the vegetable lasagne and it was served in a deep pasta bowl in which it barely fit in and there was a burned pasta sauce in the side of the bowl but as written before the taste and quality of the food excused everything else. Enjoy!"
