We had lots of different antipasti / pasta to share and then a main / dessert each, and so I tried most of the menu, but couldn't fault any of it. They did forget to bring us our dessert wine, but other than that the service was knowledgeable and helpful. Cannot wait to visit again"

  • "mixed feelings about this place the menu is different and the flavours and ingredients are amazing and of the highest quality the burrata and veal ravioli to start was divine the mains were not as amazing- mackerel - couldnt complain but wasnt blown away the dessert- chocolate semi freddo- WAS ONE OF THE BEST DESSERTS i have ever eaten the wine was a let down- do not order the cheapest bottle of wine (£26) it was acidic and cheap quality- i guess you get what you pay for but i have tasted far better bottles in restaurant for that price service- some staff were incredibly genuine, helpful with the menu and very approachable while a few were the complete opposite and was made to feel out of place. overall was a good experience"

  • "It's almost 4 years since Zucca opened and it was so great to experience the same high standards in food and service as when they first opened. The tables and chairs have been changed ie better, the already good wine list has been strengthened, however everything else is the same: fabulous sharing starters and perfect, unfussy, mains including an outstanding octopus dish. I just wish it wasn't necessary to book months in advance, but there is a good reason, it's one of the very best in London!"

It is not normal for me to never have a bad word to say, but in the case of Zucca, I really do not. If you have not dined there, you really should give it a try."

The highlight was the lovely and knowledgeable sommelier (Self titled Wine Casanova) who guided us through the maze of the wine list and recommended a lovely wine. One downer though which explain the "fair" mark on value. Difficult to justify £15 for a starter to share which consisted in 2 thin slices of aubergines with some ricotta. Please reiew your pricing structure!!!"

Our favorite appetizers were the grilled eggplant with ricotta and chick peas and the burrata cheese served with wild garlic, capers and chick peas. Each of the three fresh pastas ordered were light and delicious. Save room for dessert, the homemade ice cream was the best I have ever tasted. Try the salted caramel with some espresso poured over the top. Great service, great meal, great evening!"

A 2 hour slot was just about enough time, but feels cheeky to have time limit. in fact the room became so noisy by 8pm that we couldn't really hear each other, so would recommend going for an early sitting. service was attentive, friendly and efficient. all dishes arrived promptly. house red was fine. complimentary bread was fabulous. 4 or 5 types. starters: pumpkin tempura amazing. sea bass ceviche also good and generous. shared a pasta dish (main course size) which was petite but tasty. but mains were very poor. rabbit dish was bland, watery, octopus dish was under-flavoured and small.the mackerel and beetroot lacked sophistication. we expected to have hit the mark with at least one and all disappointed."

The antipasti had beautifully balanced flavours, I had a wonderful wild sea bass main course and every one of the 3 desserts we shared were wonderful. The wine is expensive, we chose the cheapest house wine which was £32 (and delicious) so beware of that. One of us chose a main course pasta at £15 which was TINY. He said it was delicious but it did seem he was short changed when for £17 you could have calves liver, sea bass or something with much more expensive ingredients and a bigger portion. It's one for a treat with exceptional food. Share the antipasti to get the most of all the delicious flavours."

I've rated Zucca outstanding for value since that same week we also ate as part of a large group at Pizza Express. Our meal at zucca, 3 courses with wine, only came to £10 more per head. That's mind-boggling given the huge difference in quality and imagination between these two restaurants! The only slight detractor from the ambience is that the building itself feels more like office space than a restaurant. Getting rid of the carpet might help to change that."

  • "I was really craving some good fish and seafood and was not disappointed! I shared some outstanding dishes - garlicky clams, seabass carpaccio, grilled octopus and mackerel fillets. My main complaint would be an inconsistency with the portion sizes; my friend ordered a fish main course which was miniscule in comparison to everyone else's. It can also be hard to get the attention of the staff for some reason, considering it is so small, but maybe this was a one off. I also think it would be great to get the bread and olive oil after one has been sat but is looking at the menu, it would be nice touch... Other than those quibbles - near perfect."

What I particularly like, aside from the obvious quality of the food/service/ambience, is that the main meat/fish dishes always seem to come as a decent big portion so you can feel pleasantly full at the end.   • "Having attended a Sainsbury's Magazine pasta workshop at Zucca last summer we had to come back when we visited London on Saturday March 1 to see the Paul Klee exhibition at Tate Modern. We were not disappointed, great service from knowledgeable and attentive (but not intrusive) staff. Food was lovely which went well with the wine of the week. If we hadn't needed our wits about us to be visually aware for Tate we might have emulated the diners on the table next to us (who seemed to be determined to devour the entire wine list) and had a bottle not just a glass. I liked the touch on the dessert menu with appropriate wines recommended for each dessert, had to resist temptation here (the wine not the dessert). A splendid day started at Zucca."

  • "Finally got a table at Zucca after wanting to try it for months. Lovely ambience, staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Food was simple but cooked to perfection. We had the ox cheek and papardelle with hare for mains - both tasted fresh and delicious. A very friendly restaurant - we had a family with 3 children under 10 dining there and they seemed to enjoy the food too. Will definitely return, hopefully not too long from now."

The food is very rich so I do not recommend large portions for the main course (especially if you plan on enjoying one of their fine deserts!) but it is none the less very satisfying as a meal out. The prices are reasonable though towards the high end for someone in my bracket. The lady and I had the Zucca Fritta, Seabass with chili and lemon, and two pasta dishes - pheasant (delicious) in one and the other anchovies and tomato (also great). For dessert, we had Salted Caramel ice cream - wonderful, and tastes like burnt toffee (I'm saying this as a good thing - it's delicious!). Since the complimentary water was plentiful (we had still water) and the bread filling, this was enough."
