About
Lunch impresses, with modern takes on British favourites and a mouth-watering dessert menu imparts the perfect finishing note.
The club-like feel and free Wifi make it an excellent space for both relaxed working and meeting with friends. The bar is open until 8pm and while the restaurant is not open for dinner on a daily basis, group bookings can be accommodated on request.
Normally quiet but got noisy from the overspill of a big event. Good food and good service.
The food was unusually disappointing. Try and overcooked and tasteless. I had the fish and chips and my companion the chicken. But I like the restaurant
Great venue and location for business meetings, very reasonable prices as well, will return for sure
The food was at a standard far higher than the surroundings might have led one to expect.
I have visited several times over the last year and it is interesting to see that the menu is constantly changing. The smoked salmon with crayfish was delicious and the game pie was excellent - taste being more important than size. The wine list is small but with a reasonable selection without being ridiculously over-priced as is all too common in London restaurants.
Attentive service in a relaxing atmosphere. Food was extremely well presented. I will definitely return.
pleasant surroundings, though not cosy, small menu of English fare but beautifully presented and generous portions, some exciting starters which one can also order as mains, pleasant lunch experience throughout and swift as well as attentive service
Very good as always
Lovely food. Very accommodating and polite service.
I went for a family celebration, and was massively surprised. We had the 2 course meal and frankly it was brilliant food.
The Salmon with Gin and caviar with grapefruit was a bold combination. I found it surprising refreshing to the palate and absolutely yummy! I then had the Barnsley chop and frankly this is the best piece of meat I have had in a restaurant in a while. Succulent cooked and seasoned just right. The cooked onions with poppy seeds a delight and well balancing the green beans.
All this washed down with a lovely glass of bubbly.
I will definitely be returning.
Very good as always - highly recommended . Thanks for a great lunch
Has gone downhill - looks a bit like a waiting room in a care home - fake wood carpet tiles and council office seating. Food is ok'ish - think chain pub/mediocre hotel. Service is a bit absent. £30 a head.
A very pleasant restaurant with good service and a pleasing but limited menu
Very good as always
Nice atmosphere for daytime, bright and cheerful, clean and professional. Quite a limited menu but nice choices and well presented, if on the high side for pricing. Portions sensible for lunchtime, (see pricing) and service was a little unco-ordinated but perfectly friendly and helpful.
Whilst the food was good. The service was a bit slow. There is so much potential with this space, someone just needs a bit of imagination
Enjoyed a family lunch at the 113 on Chancery Lane - visiting the Law Society that day. Was easily able to book table for lunch on a Friday. Very good service, took us straight to pleasant window table. Fixed price 2 or 3 course with 4-5 choices per course. Included glass of bubbly that arrived quickly. Food was promptly served, was well presented and liked by all. Additional drinks and table service was attentive but not pushy. Relaxed lunch in quiet venue. The dinning room is very light and airy having high ceiling in this historic building. This venue may get missed by some as its easy to walk on by and not realise that it is there on the southern end of Chancery Lane.
Convenient location and reasonably priced for Chancery Lane. The restaurant has recently been refurbished and is tastefully decorated with a light airy feeling. Staff are polite and you are not rushed out the door as soon as you finish your meal.
Thanks for a good lunch
Disappointing
Service was disjointed and food fairly poor quality
Very cut of stack not fact than meat and very over cooked ordered rare
Very special location in the Law Society's historic building. Menu rather short but some interesting choices and all very well cooked and presented. Service excellent and friendly.
Never overly busy, service attentive but not overbearing - great value with the Tastecard promotion.
Nice space hidden away in the Law Society building. Food great, menu appealing, service pretty good and would recommend for sure!
Nicely run restaurant which provided a special lunchtime menu for the Admissions Ceremony. The menu was good value and the food and service were excellent. Definitely recommend if you are visiting the Law Society
The service was inattentive and the foid was awful and tiny little portion. Very very disappointed and definitely won't go again.
Nice place
Food delicious and good service at the Law Society.
Very quiet as we arrived 2pm and chef stops serving at 2.30pm
Although I wasn't the diner, I was informed that this was an unusual, but interesting environment to have a regular business meeting, - surrounded by parents, students and lecturers discussing the next school term. But overall good food and friendly service.
This was our first time here and couldnt fault the value for money and excellent service and good choice of food..Brilliant ...would definitely come again and recommend.Thank you
Easy to book on-line, excellent food and a great location in a Grade II Building at the Law Society.
The express lunch menu was limited in choice but very good value. The service wasn't up to scratch though. First a waiter tried to deliver food to our table that was meant for someone else. Then another waiter was asked if the burger comes with chips or crisps (it was unclear from the menu) and gave us the wrong answer so we ended up ordering two sides of chips. The waiter who served us spotted the mistake and delivered one side of chips - but omitted to remove the cost of the unwanted side from the bill. The food was tasty but nothing special. It is worth a try but I wouldn't rush back.
An email had confirmed that I could pick up a members card so I could start collecting loyalty points. There was no card.
I booked a time as I was on a tight schedule but was kept waiting too long before being seated. The website and menu promised I'd be out within 45 mins. It was an hour and would have been longer if I hadn't chased the bill.
I tried it but will not be using you again.
Good value and very quiet
Nick and his staff create a very comfortable environment in the Law Society's Hall in the heart of Legal London. The restaurant is spacious with little alcoves that are really good for meetings where discretion is important.
I have held a small Christmas lunch there; taken clients to lunches at various times of the year and now had an impromptu afternoon tea as well as going to various evening events there where the nibbles have been excellent.
The food is of a high standard and my vegetarian colleagues were very impressed. There is a good selection of wines and buyers and the waiters and waitresses are very friendly and helpful.
I think that the Law Society should be given credit for providing this facility which I think could be used more by solicitors and their clients.
I'd be interested to see what Giles Coren makes of it.
Excellent food, prompt service and a beautiful and contemporary restaurant in a building stooped in history. Simply wonderful!
A relaxed club like room, with service that is welcoming and unpressured. It was an ideal venue for lunch and the food, once ordered, came quickly and was good quality. I would definitely go back if I needed to find a restaurant in this location.
Myself and my boyfriend have been for lunch here twice now. Everything is always delicious and with a tastecard it is excellent value for money. The restaurant has luxurious yet laid back feel with a good mix of modern and traditional decor. The service is always friendly and attentive. We would highly recommend for lunch and will definitely go back again soon!
Went for lunch with a close friend and was not disappointed. A great location steeped in history but the restaurant was very modern and spacious. I was given the table that I requested but all the tables were well spaced giving a measure of privacy so that talking was not inhibited. The service throughout was excellent and the food very good and reasonably priced. Good wine list. A very nice lunch indeed.
Very good lunch, thanks again, much appreciated. See you again soon
We booked a table for the four of us for my son's enrolement into The Law Society. This was booked some weeks in advance.
We had been informed on the day (2hrs prior to our booking that there was a problem with the kitchen and that the menu would be limited.
We were travelling form outside London and decided to go with whatever was to be offered. However, we were very disappointed with the food when it arrived. We all had something different and in each case agreed the food was very bland and very small portions for the main dish. There were no condiments on the table; we had to ask for water and no bread was offered with the terrine. It was a great shame as we were really looking forward to the occasion.
We were booked at 12.30 and only heard about the problem with the kitchen via a voicemail message at approx 10.30.
Nice food, well presented.
Gripes...slow service, long gaps between courses, inconsistent portion sizes, Indian overlay on European food a bit irritating.
Good wine list though. Some novel selections.
As a reasonable regular user it is good to see the menu change quite often and incorporate an Indian them to some dishes.
Disappointing on this visit to find they had run out of Fish & Chips on Friday at 12.45!! Really??
