IT'S CLOSED DOWN
I contacted openable prior to my booking as I was concerned bed at the last review. I was basically told 'pop along oh and let us know if its closed thanks.'
Well it is closed. Maybe now you could stop taking bookings and thanks for ruining my birthday.
It was closed down!
Amazing starters and good main meals. Was very good value, however the menu we were given (which we then got 50% off) was a lot more expensive than the one being shown outside to bring customers in. That said, enjoyable meal and would return.
Delicious food, generous portions and very reasonable. Can't wait to go back this is a little gem!!!
Tacky looking restaurant, poor heating. Food was decent for the money paid but wouldn’t return.
Good food with some interesting non-standard items on the menu. We had two courses and nothing was left uneaten. They have no licence but are happy for you to bring your own. With the 50% offer and beer bought from the off licence across the road the value was exceptional.
Good service and great value. Tasty curry, tandoori and tikka. Probably not cheapest in Kings Cross but worth visiting with the 50% off discount.
Cafe like atmosphere.
Couldn't fault the food though.
Nice restaurant, good service and able to get some alcoholic drinks from across the road.
Great tasting food and fairly quick at arriving.
Simple and not fency and luxurious. But the food is very good.
We made a reservation through Open Table without noting that the reservation provided 50% off if certain items were ordered. Our server was insistent that the reservation we had made required us to order four appetizers and four main courses because the restaurant would be charged for it by Open Table. If this is accurate then Open Table should do a better job of explaining the conditions of a reservation at this restaurant. The food was good when it arrived, and true to the "heat" ratings provided.
Not our first visit nor our last, good food great value well worth seeking out; it's not a fancy restaurant but the food speaks for itself and the staff are friendly
Dined here a few times now .. the food never disappoints and it's great value for money. Good service topped it off .. thank you we will return
This was a friends get together and enjoyed by all because of the value, tasty food, though not overly spicey which some may prefer, and the friendly and pleasant service. I would go again, but ask for more spice to be added.
Tasty food but really disappointed by the cheese naans. It looks like a pizza dough with some grated cheese on top (not inside!!).
It is reasonable value only with the 50% off - otherwise their menu is ridiculously overpriced for what it is, just a neighbourhood indian restaurant with ok food.
This place offers good value Indian food and particularly their chef's specials are delicious. Byob is a bonus. Would thoroughly recommend!
Go back year after year been going for the last 3 years as we go to Lords for the cricket and it is very convenient to our hotel at Kings cross never had a bad curry yet. The food is good not much atmosphere as its always quite . Definatley recommend it.
Thanks Taste of India
Food was very good.
We went with the -50% and BYO offer.
Outstanding quality for value
The food was extremely tasty. We were initially put off by the shabby appearance of the facade and interior but were glad we ventured inside after tasting our meal. It represented excellent value for money.
Decent food at a very reasonable price with 50% off and BYOB.
Bangladesh-style cooking, staff friendly, homely atmosphere; food was not outstanding. The portions are VERY SMALL so we ordered extra. We went on a Friday evening and were the only guests, although noticed quite a lot of take-away orders
Great food and and well priced. This ceases to please.
I couldn't have read the terms properly before going there, as they advised that in order to use the option we had to have a starter & a main each. Then it was extra for any prawn dishes. Thankfully it still was reasonable even after that.
The food was mediocre, well cooked but messy. But the service was good.
We were sat right next to the serving hatch (despite it not being busy at all). The view of the washing up waiting to be done, was not good.
We took our own booze, which was kindly opened by the waiter, glasses provided etc. BYOB is really is great if you are on a budget.
For 2 it cost us £27.00 in total, including SC. I was happy to pay that.
But if it had been the full price of £54.00? No, that would be totally unjustified. That amount would usually be including mains, drinks & a couple of side dishes.
I wouldn't go back for all the above reasons.
Very ordinary tasting meals. Spicy poppadums were so mild even my wife could eat them. Promised a 50% discount when we entered...received SFA not that we wanted it.
Wont be back nor will our friends
Great value, especially with bring your own alcohol. Good location too
This is really a struggling takeaway with a few tables, badly needs renovation. Starters were badly made or frozen samosas. There were only 4 other customers in on a Saturday night and it was so slow that in the end they asked us to leave. It's cheap, but only because of the half price offer. Staff seemed bored and fed up, not surprisingly. Go to Drummond Street in Euston.
Byo is a great concept and the food complements it well. We have visited this place without the offer and well worth it.
Visited New Years Eve - very quiet but a nice atmosphere made very welcome by the people working there. Brought our own drinks and had the offer so the food was extremely good value for a 2 course meal with pickle tray as well. Really nice place, fully recommend.
Our table of 8 all enjoyed the meal. The food was lovely, the service was great and very good value for money.
Service was very attentive (although there was only one other occupied table in the restaurant so may be less attentive when it's busy). Allowed BYO which was very good for keeping the cost of the meal down. We used the opentable special offer which made the meal extremely good value. Food was nice - standard Indian restaurant food really which is all we wanted. We didn't really know what to expect before we went but had a good experience.
Very good food and service was good , near to kings cross stastion
Covenience to Kings Cross was key. Staff were pleasant. Food reasonable and pricing OK. Decorated more like a diner and very small but served its purpose well.
Seemingly they operate two menu price lists - one outside to get you in and one inside with prices two quit higher on average. The mixed tandoori platter was served on a cold plate and partially warm. I had better Indian food for a betterprice. If you do not want to play vabanque with your dining out avoid.
The prices in the restaurant are much higher than on the menu online which is a scam. I paid 4.99 for samosas and 11.99 for butter chicken, which is far from what is announced. Other than that, the food is good and the service is great.
Very good, friendly service, tasty food and good value.
Would recommend and use again.
The 25% discount on menu prices and BYO (alcohol) is very good deal for a Central London restaurant. The food, service and ambience is average.
Really good value as you bring your own alcohol and food is reasonable too! The food was lovely they don't care on how many bottle you drink and you don't pay anything for your alcohol! I had the garlic and chili chicken and it was really really nice. My friends were also very satisfied with their meals.
very friendly service and great value food which was of high standard. Highly recommend!
