Amazing meals. One of the best restaurants in London.

The food was good although the portions were rather small. The restaurant is beautifully decorated.
We were a party of 10 family members, celebrating my daughter's graduation. I had asked on the phone if we could order from both the set and a la carte menu, without pre-ordering. This was agreed. Yet, on the night, the head waiter was adamant that the a la carte menu was not available until 7pm (we were booked for 6pm). His manner was short, unpleasant and argumentative. He didn't seem interested in honouring the agreement I had had on the phone, or in helping us have a good experience in the restaurant. It spoiled the atmosphere for us a little bit. In the end, his colleague took our order that included a la carte dishes, so we weren't sure why the argument with the head waiter.
All in all we enjoyed the meal though, the dishes were well cooked and could not be faulted.

Relaxed restaurant in the Gore Hotel very close to the Albert Hotel. Wood panelled room with similar bar across the corridor. Good quality British/European menu which was of a high standard, excellent value pre-theatre menu. Perfect if you’re going to the Albert Hall.

This was the perfect pre-concert setting. The manager on duty was warm and welcoming and the service overall was professional. Food was tasty and good value. Ambience was perfect. would definitely return here next time attending something at the Albert Hall.

We picked the pre-theatre menu as we had a show booked at The Royal Albert Hall. We arrived for around 5.40pm and ordered after about 10mins. The starter came out quickly and was very nice. We waited about 40mins for our main and as it was so late, we had to cancel our desert. When we asked for the bill, we were almost charged for 4 deserts, luckily we checked. I also felt it very cheeky they placed a service charge to the bill when the service wasn't suitable for a pre show dinner.

We are regulars to the Royal Albert Hall and frequently eat at the Gore Hotel. We have suggested many times that they change their menu more regularly, but this hasn’t happened. It is no wonder that bookings appear to have dropped and we certainly will now be eating elsewhere, even though the menu is changing next week. Apparently this menu will be the same for six months - I rest my case!!!

A wonderful little restaurant with a Michelin starred chef. Perfect waiters who were attentive but not overly so. Really tasty food that was the perfect pre theatre menu.

The staff were all friendly and attentive. The food was well presented and tasty. Minor 'criticisms' are that the pea veloute could have done with a little more seasoning and the rhubarb was a little too crunchy for my liking but overall, a good choice and value for money in a very nice setting.

The location and service were excellent. The food was nice but for a pre-theatre menu it is quite expensive. The dining room is rather gloomy. Staff couldn't have been nicer.

My ratings are based on the pre-theatre menu, not the a la carte which is not available at 5.30. The food was extremely good, the room is elegant and the service personal, friendly and efficient. All in all it was the perfect overture to what also turned out to be an outstanding Prom.

Wonderful experience and the food was excellent quality. Only feedback was that the shape of jar containing the parfait was very awkward to negotiate with a knife and gave up towards the end but cannot fault the quality.

Went for a pre-Proms dinner, and chose the pre-theatre menu. The spring salad, in late August, was disappointing, and under-seasoned. The Royal Windsor pork chop with Morteau sausage, soft mash potatoes and broccoli, lacked the sausage, with no apology or warning in advance of ordering. I then ordered the selection of British and French cheese as the dessert, and an extra glass of wine to accompany. After a fair time, and with no cheese delivered, I had to call for the bill as it was getting late (this was a pre-dinner menu after all), which charged for the cheese, so this had to be corrected. No apology for the lack of dessert, and the fact I paid for an extra glass of wine that was not cheap to accompany it. The service was friendly but they seemed a bit disorganised, despite there being only about 25 covers in the rather crowded and cramped room, and how difficult is it to stick some cheese and crackers on a plate?

Went for dinner before a concert at the Albert Hall. We arrived in good time, but service was slow, even off the limited pre theatre menu. Food was basic and bland - the best bit was the bread. No time for dessert or coffee. Staff polite, but not engaged.

We had a very pleasant dinner at 190. Our waiter was friendly and efficient. He even turned the aircon down for us as we were getting cold! As there was only us and one more couple, it was very quiet and lacking a bit of ambience, which couldn't be helped. I would have liked more than one vegetarian choice for each course.

Beautiful dining room, very tasteful and elegant and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The food was delicious (we ate from the pre theatre menu) the fish was very fresh and the poached rhubarb was divine. I booked a table for my mum’s special birthday and we both agreed that we would go back at some point.
I would thoroughly recommend 190 Queen’s Gate.

A lovely restaurant for a pre-theatre meal.
Delicious food, all served piping-hot...we had the fish & the pork options, & both meals were sensible portions with a good combination of vegetables.
The restaurant was full & buzzing, but the service was impeccable. No adverse comments to make at all.
With just a 5 minute walk to the Royal Albert Hall for our show, it was perfect.
Definitely recommend!

190 Queen's Gate is an oasis in the bustle of the Kensington area. The bar and restaurant is an ideal stopping off point ahead of an evening at the nearby royal Albert Hall.

Meals and service were very good.

Very disappointed with an extraordinarily disappointing meal. My wife and I ordered the vegetarian option which was gnocchi. This was very dry and the only vegetable the restaurant offered to accompany it was spinach or several different potato options. A truly horrible, virtually inedible meal. When we complained, all they offered was deletion of the service charge which we would never have wished to pay anyway as the service was slow and mediocre at best.

We had an early pre- theatre dinner and were the only people in the restaurant till we finished our dessert when a group of 4 arrived. Attentive waiters. Good choices of food on the set menu, well presented. I like it when the meat dish comes with some vegetables. As it is part of a boutique hotel, the toilets are very clean.

We have dined at 190 Queens Gate on several occasions and have always enjoyed our time there. The food was lovely and we went off the pre theatre menu which was extremely good value and had very good choices on the menu.
The only fault was two of our party were given non alcoholic beers instead of the normal one, but this was quickly rectified with no issues.
Will definitely return and look forward to our next visit
