This is a wonderful restaurant. The food and service are top class. It was excellent value.

We had seafood mix grill and rack of lamb followed by chocolate soufflé. We shared a bottle of Chianti. The portions were just right for us.

Our thanks to the staff who made our evening so enjoyable.

I highly recommend this restaurant.

I requested a table in the main restaurant but did not get one.

The over flow room is fine when you arrive-busy and atmospheric but empties quickly and you are left in an empty room.

Lively , with a varied menu of British staples and some imaginative alternatives, well-presented and expertly cooked, our party had halibut, seafood, duck and lamb and all were enjoyed. The wine list is extensive with prices from reasonable to pricey, the staff attentive but not fussy.

Service was very good and did not have to wait long between courses and the food was fantastic. Was a bit noisy where we were sitting but that was more because we were sat near a couple of groups of people. Only issue i could raise is that it would have been nice to be sat somewhere where there was no groups as we were there as a couple for a romantic meal to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. They did bring out a lovely bit of cheesecake with a candle on which i thought was very nice and much appreciated. I would highly reccomend this place for the food and the good service and its out the way of the busy town centre aswell

The food was amazing and the waiters were very attentive. We knew one of the waiters who brought us a glass of prosecco at the end of our meal which was such a lovely touch. Can’t wait to come back!

Delicious as always. 21 is our “go to” for every occasion- this one was our Friday with Friends and we had amazing food. Nothing was scrimped even though we had the restaurant week menu. Thank you again for a lovely afternoon

Excellent food. We went at a very busy time with a pushchair and baby - I had contacted the restaurant via opentable before hand and then rang the day before to make sure they knew this. They said it was no problem and they would put us on a table with some space. However, when we arrived there really was not enough room. We felt like we were in the way as waiting staff were constantly squeezing past the pushchair. We are not criticising them at all, but we would rather have just been told before that there wasn’t enough room and we would have sorted childcare.

Really delicious food with fantastic service. Our waitress was superb. She was knowledgeable about the food on offer and gave honest advice. Each course we tasted was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the house wine - though there were many others on the list we'd like to try in the future! Many thanks.

We went in restaurant week and atmosphere, food and service were superb.
Really good value in restaurant week (2 courses for £15, 3 for £20). It would quite pricey otherwise.
Unlike other places they do not drop their portion sizes or efforts with the offer on.
Great place!

This was a meal for restaurant week, good value and choice of food, two courses for £15, however wine is expensive. Service and finishing touches are excellent.

Four of us took advantage of 21's Restaurant Week offer. It was just as good as the normal early evening deals: there was certainly no lowering of standards. The food was terrific, not one of us had anything other than delight with the food in front us. The young woman who looked after us was excellent. Judging by the noise levels in the packed room everyone else was thoroughly enjoying their evening. Many thanks.

Beautiful food in a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and the food was quickly served. It was Newcastle Restaurant Week so it was good value but usually it is expensive.

Excellent meal at 21 this week for a special occasion. The vegan & vegetarian menu was well thought out and staff were conscientious and welcoming throughout. Would definitely go again and great to see 21 making such great offerings for Newcastle Restaurant Week.

As a family we always take advantage of Newcastle Restaurant week as its a good opportunity to sample new places. But we always end up going back to 21!
Consistently good food, wine and efficient friendly service. Convivial, unstuffy atmosphere.

Excellent food as ever. There was a problem with the bill which resulted in us being charged more and the reponse to this was not very good even though we were correct. Overall a great restaurant but disappointing service!

Great experience, wonderful food. Went with wife and daughter on Sunday afternoon and ate off the a la carte menu. I had 6 delicious Lindisfarne oysters, wife and daughter shared crab lasagne which was superb. Wife had fillet steak which was cooked perfectly medium, daughter had the confit duck and I had the most delicious calves liver. All were served with excellent accompaniments and we washed all down with the house white and red which was super. Service was immaculate so all round great meal. Not cheap but full of customers on a Sunday at 4 to 7 on clock so speaks for itself and we will definitely be returning.

We chose 21 from restaurant reviews and tripadvisor and were not disappointed. Up from the south coast for a family anniversary and wanted something special for a night out with one of the sister-in-laws and hubby. Great place with a lovely buzzy and full restaurant, all of our meals were fabulous. As a pescatarian I had plenty of choice as this restaurant has a full veggie menu to pick from too, you just have to ask. Super service which was unobtrusive but efficient and not rushed. In fact we were the last to leave and didn’t feel the pressure to go. Admittedly this isn’t a cheap restaurant but it’s definitely worth the money if you are a bit of a foodie. We’ll definitely return if we head up to Newcastle again. Excellent!
