Very good evening. Food was superb, loved the tuna dish. Professional but friendly service, making you feel well looked after. Very good wine suggestions with our meal, thank you.
Hello BellsA, Glad to have received such positive comments about your last visit. The tuna is one of my personal favourites, too. Hopefully we can host you again very soon! Have a fantastic weekend
Fabulous evening! It’s our first time here and we loved it. The staff were all super friendly and whole place had a great vibe (love all the wine boxes on display everywhere )
The food was really just simply delicious especially the crab starter and the steak- so tasty.
We will be back again for sure.
Hi Veronica, So pleased that you enjoyed your evening. To say we are obsessed with wine would be an understatement, so thank you very much for the decor comments. We take a lot of care in sourcing great, seasonal dishes and our chef takes great pride in his food! We very much look forward to your next visit
All good, a bit scared because first time in a restaurant after lockdown
So lovely to be back at 28:50 Marylebone again, after the long hiatus. The food and wine were delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was great. All the staff seemed genuinely excited to be back again. The only reason I didn't award it the full 5 stars this time was because of my slight disappointment that the AMAZING home-made chocolate madeleines were no longer on the dessert menu - bring them back, please!! (Oh, and generally, the dessert portions could have been a tiny bit more generous - we had Eton mess and chocolate orange mousse, which were both very tasty but tiny).
Hi Carmen, We really appreciate you taking time out of your day to write us a review - it means the most to us in this re-opening period especially! You were quite right in saying that we were excited to be back! It was a long 3 months indeed. The madeleines are a crowd-pleaser, for sure. We may put them back on the menu later on this year, but we wanted to switch up our menu and make it slightly more seasonal, for the great weather we will soon be having! Looking forward to seeing you soon
Everything was spot on!
Hello, Very re-assuring comment! Many thanks for that!
The first day post-lockdown and it felt loud and busy. Very loud music encouraging people to shout. Efforts had been made with cleaning and masks but tables felt close and felt crowded. We had to wait a long time for our drinks. We want them to be successful but too many tables. The high table at the back has been replaced with 2 ordinary tables but waiting staff were trying to serve food right next to them. Staff were very nice - but you can’t just go back to normal after what we’ve all been through.
Definitely a must go! A very nice vibe and atmosphere created by the friendly and smiley staff, the beautiful bar and wooden crates design.
The wine list is amazing offering around 40 wines by the glass, all quality. The food is amazing, top to bottom, the Scottish rib eye was a highlight!
We had a fabulous diner Saturday evening.
We trusted the very friendly team to guide us in the choice of dishes and the Sommelier for the selection of wines.
The food was really tasty and the wine was perfectly matched.
Wonderful experience, we will be back.
We enjoyed it so much on our last trip to London we had to return. Simply an outstanding evening, thanks in large part to Ricardo and Jules, wonderful service. Friendly and helpful, They obviously care for their guests. The food is perfectly prepared, there is a great wine selection, and we enjoyed the buzzy atmosphere--it is not overwhelmingly noisy. With so much happening with London's ever-evolving food scene, it's hard to make decisions, but we'll always put 28-50 on our list of restaurants to visit.
Food was mediocre, lacked taste and expensive for what it was. Overall very disappointing!
Bangy music - inappropriate for this venue. Understaffed, irregular service. My fish was great - though not everyone at the table felt their order had been taken properly, or was not very hot. Ive been before and found the dinner disappointing.
Underwhelming. Service was very slow and the focus is very much on wine. Food was average and overpriced, portions small.
I hadn’t been to 28-50 for a while and was very disappointed with this visit. The staff are pretty efficient but the food on this occasion was not good. I chose the stone bass and was served a tiny piece of fish from the tail end which was mostly skin and brown flesh. Not pleasant and for £23 very poor value!!! The side order of broccoli was so undercooked that I couldn’t cut it. I told the staff who were very helpful and did not charge me for these items. I hope this was a bad day as 28-50 has been a good spot for lunch but I am not sure that I would go there again.
Good place for a business lunch. The food is fine, the wine is not bad.
It is a nice cosy wine bar, with good lighting and music loud enough but not too loud. Good selection of wines and foods. However, portions are relatively small.
We were forced to have set dinner for 70GBP, the food was average within the set. The service was not very attentive, the waiter could bot explain why we only have a cuoice of the set and why they didn’t let us know in advance.
I was looked after well by the staff, the wine selection was great as was the recommendation
It was great, except they allowed animals into the establishment.
Good food and wine. Reasonable prices. Good service. A hit.
Great fish, good choices and nice wines to accompany. Front of house attentive and friendly ensuring a great customer experience, going out of their way to accommodate the most critical of tastes with relative ease. Happy to recommend.
Set lunch menu was excellent value plus a good range of wines you can have in as small a volume as 75ml. Endearing waiter and a chilled out atmosphere. Food was simple but tasty. Really impressed.
The perfect place for a double date! We had a wonderful time. Everything was simply fantastic, and every easy.
Had lunch here. Very nice place would be good in summer. Food and service were very good and no issues there. Had the Scallops with fries and the Fish Pie plus 2 glasses of prosecco and an Aperol Spritz. Then I got the bill which I expected to be roughly £65.... It was £91, I nearly fell off my chair!! £15 for 2 small glasses of prosecco and £12 for an Aperol which is £6.50 in my local Italian restaurant. They also added 12.5% service charge which I thought a darned cheek! I would expect these prices at the Ritz not a small restaurant in the back streets off Oxford St. Would return for the quality of food drink and service but not the prices.
First and last time.
Order the Sunday roast (BIG mistake), not really a place for a roast.. the beef was over done, bad slightly roasted potatoes and trimmings..... Horrible.
Goose terrain was great
Fish pie was also good
Wine choice was good.
Thank you very much for your review. I am pleased there are some positives. Your comments on the roast are noted. It was our first Sunday Roast of the new year and clearly we haven't got it right yet. Please accept our apologies. I hope the service staff dealt with the problem at the point of disappointment and if not, do get in touch so that we can (attempt to) rectify things. Once again, we're sorry to have disappointed you.
Great experience, highly recommend it.
Really nice food
Thank you so much for your kind review and lovely comments. I am delighted that you enjoyed your dining experience with us and we hope to see you again soon. Yasmin.
Excellent food beautifully presented by nice staff
Thank you for your comment. It means a lot to all the team that you enjoyed your experience with us and that you took the time to post a lovely review. We hope to see you again in the near future. Yasmin.
The service (Italian male waiter) very helpful, really warm and friendly would definitely visit again if we’re in the area
Thank you for leaving such a positive review, it is really appreciated! We hope you are able to come and visit us again soon. Yasmin.
What an amazing end to our Christmas Day. Food was excellent, everyone in service made it extra special. Wine recommendation was spot on
Comida muy buena! Una sorpresa!
Atencion espectacular al igual que el ambiente...
Went for Christmas dinner. Service was rushed and then really slow. Food was eh to so-so. Ribeye didn’t have much flavor. Turkey was overcooked. The first course was good. The soup was amazing. Sad that the main courses disappointed so much, especially for the price.
Many thanks for your comments. We served an enormous number of Christmas dinners on the 25th and sadly, we were unable to please everyone. Please believe us, we did try! We're very sorry to have disappointed you and I hope you will give us a second chance one day. Yasmin.
Great restaurant, staff are super friendly and helpful, food was great (we went for Christmas), and the atmosphere was wonderful.
This is a lovely place with delicious food.
We spent here Christmas day and the choices of the set menu were excellent.
Service was good.
The only - was that the air conditioning was on and it was really extremely cold.
When we asked them to turn it off, they indeed did but only for a little while and we did not want to mention it again.
We left earlier than anticipated because of this.
Other than that, everything was excellent
Thank you very much for your review, we've noted your comments about the air conditioning. It's a perennial problem - some like it hot ! (me too), but we clearly didn't get it right for you. Please accept our apologies. Yasmin.
We chose 28-50 for Christmas Day for our family. From the start we were impressed with the quality and speed of the service, the professionalism and pleasantness of all the staff and all the delicious food. There were also several little extra touches which helped us really to enjoy our Christmas. We are really grateful to all of you for making our visit so memorable for all the right reasons.
God quality Christmas lunch. Patient with our toddlers. Nice ambience and good service. Would go again.
My Daughter and I have been coming here on Christmas Eve for at least 6 years if not longer.... It is now a family tradition which I hope will continue for years to come. The service and food were as good as ever, the steak was absolutely perfect, melting in my mouth as was my crab starter.
I would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and have brought people visiting me here a few times in the year.
Solid menu choices and well chosen wines friendly service and would be happy to return a third time - well located for shopping in Marylebone High Street.
Excellent service. Quiet venue. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. Smiling helpful staff
Dear Anonymous client, Thank you for your review and lovely comments on our restaurant! We are so pleased you enjoyed your meal with us and we hope to see you again soon. Kind regards, Yasmin.
For a French wine bar restaurant every time we have visited we ordered a bottle of wine from their limited wine list and every time it was NOT available!
Service was slow to say the least
Headless chickens come to mind
Could not run the proverbial in a brewery
Such a nice place just ruined by ill informed in trained staff
Thank you for your review. I must say it is unusual, very unusual. Our sommeliers put in a lot of effort to make sure that our wine lists are up to date and always stocked. I note the date of your visit and we will look into the reasons why we appeared to be short. I hope you will try us again. Yasmin.
Good sommelier who will give you time and discuss the wines
Enjoyed a late lunch with 2 good friends. We all liked the place, the food, the ambience.
