Wine suggestion was fantastic and food very tasty 👍
Have been in 28-50 many times - mostly for wine and nibbles- but decided to book a group dinner - unfortunately not a great success - food took too long to arrive, and we had to quickly finish meal and run to theatre- most in the group happy with food, but my steak - A rib eye - was fatty and almost inedible. Ended up needing supper after theatre which was disappointing!
Great wine selection and equally good menu. Definitely reccommending the prawns and the pulled pork burger. Dessert menu was a little mediocre only. Fantastic ambience as well.
We visit this place every time we are in London for a day-trip. During our last visit, we had a light bite, which was beautifully prepared and accompanied by some very tasty sourdough bread and a very smooth soft cheese in place of butter. The highlight of our visit were the glasses of exceptional white and red wines that we were served by the very attentive, well trained and pleasant staff. Thank you very much 28°-50°, Maddox Street, Mayfair, we can't wait to come back next time we are in London!
A different but interesting place. The set lunch is good value and the Icelandic beer was great. Friendly service. Worth a try.
Pulled pork mini burgers are to die for!
Lovely food and was given a special birthday dessert. Thanks!
Loved it ... food was excellent, great service and gorgeous surroundings!
Excellent food and service. Great atmosphere. Great for celebrating my birthday!
We were first given at table that in a narrow space that meant we would have to move anytime the table behind us needed to be served, but to the staff's great credit they moved us to a far better table when we asked-no fuss.
The food was ok but was over-priced compared to the standard of cooking and the ingredients used. The venue doesn't quite know whether it is a wine bar or a restaurant and so isn't quite either.
Nothing to really complain about, but it was a bit disappointing given the size of the bill.
Been to another 28-50, but this one I will have to say is the best. Good decor, good location and the price well these days London prices are mostly the same anywhere. Was nice for an evening catch-up with a friend. unusual menu it was Norwegian. The hot-dog was really good. would go back again. Good place for a glass of wine and bar snacks. it will get busy as it is just off regents street, as it did during the evening. Staff were attentive. Would recommend if you want a nice place to meet a friend, a easy menu and a good wine list.
Good location .Very friendly and food reasonable value given location.
Wonderful evening catching up with an old friend, service welcoming and warm, professional and friendly. We both had the Tuna and was delicious, perfectly cooked and some lovely wine too. Thankyou
I like the atmosphere at 28-50; it’s relaxed with a good wine list and excellent food. Comfortable seating and table not crammed together. Always feels relaxing to eat either at the bar or at a table. I would recommend.
Excellent food and service served by a nice friendly waiter
Great wine choice with wide selection of individual wines in various size glasses. Very helpful waiter guided us through our choices. Friendly atmosphere, we happily stayed for a couple of hours chatting. Would definitely return.
Great wine and champagne selection. Staff are incredibly friendly and attentive and the food is delicious!
I went with my mum for New Year’s Eve and otra was amazing. Food incredibly good, amazing wine, it was peaceful and really nice to be there. At the end the stuff invite us to a glass of champagne to celebrate the New Year and everything and everybody was just charming. We will definitely come back there, and I recommend it to everyone!
A good place to meet a guest to London. Food was good; wine easier to choose if interested in French options.
Would return and try lunch menu (better value).
My review perhaps influenced by busy time before Christmas. Difficult to offer significant levels of attention... Also, attempt to charge for things not ordered.
Really lovely atmosphere and moments from busy Regent st. Super ambience. Not too expensive. The only downside was chewy steaks. Would def return and try something else.
Excellent as ever. Very good food, service and wine list. Great atmosphere; professional yet relaxed.
Great service alongside great food! The unlimited champagne deal is superb value and knowledgeable staff provide answers to both food and drink queries with confidence! Will definitely be back!
Food was very hit and miss. As were portion sizes. Could have been a great meal but slow service and a very cold draft detracted from the experience. With so many good places nearby the food and services should have delivered more.
superb food, excellent staff. really made the time there special for my birthday.
I am a regular customer at 28-50 and I have always loved this place... The menu is simple yet very well executed, the place is decorated with taste and it is warm and romantic, the selection of wine is very good, the service always friendly and attentive... etc. After 18 years in London, I could not fault it. Unfortunately this was not faultless this time. I feel it deserves to be mentioned, sadly, as some members of staff are ruining the reputation of such a great little place in London and it should be addressed if owners do not wish to fall into the wider under standard London tourist trap restaurant group (and competition would be fierce as there are quite a few).
The 2-hour booking policy is in my view not the best customer focused rule that has been created out there over the past few years... it not only goes totally against customer loyalty but also against the idea of great restaurant experience. London seems to nurture itself from cheap and fast rules such as this one to attract more and more cheap and quick business, this, to the fast decline of quality and service overall. Very sad! However, If you have a table of guests (let alone regular guests) who consume a substantial amount and drink fine wine from £16-20 a glass and will spend the best part of £100 per head, it is simply not acceptable to be told 10 minutes before time is up that we need to get going. While I am totally against the 2-hour rule and feel that this will only deteriorate ones' business, I have to accept that the rule is the rule... However, please note that surely there should be better ways to communicate such rule prior to arrival as well as before service starts. Some members of staff in this instance were clearly lacking customer service/attention and owners should address this asap if they do not want to lose business. The way this was communicated to us was neither polite or business focused and unfortunately means that people will not come back.
They didn’t even have my booking. I and a guest arrived and they didn’t have any record of me having booked.
It was humiliating and I will not be booking there again. There wasn’t even an apology offered, just no, we don’t have your booking and we’re full now so we can’t seat you.
Very amateur and sloppy.
We went for a date night. The meal was tasty! We would recommend the Lasagna!
Thank you to the Gentleman at the reception (nice, polite...) and to Salvatore (very nice, patient and friendly)
28-50 is located at prime location near Oxford Circus.
They had special set menu throughout this month which is rib eye steak with triple cooked fries and a glass of wine for 21.5£. It is great value as the steak came out to be in a generous portion and the fries were probably the best in town!!
Their food truly lives up to my expectation.
Their service was superb and helpful.
Brilliant night out for foodies and wine lovers. One of three restaurants in London. The food is just perfect, the service is impeccable and it’s one of my favourite places in London.
Be sure to book or you may be disappointed.
We had the steak menu. Meat was quite OK. Service was pretty good and friendly
Cracking evening. Atmosphere, food and service was excellent. Both myself and my friend will definitely be returning. Oliver
I think they changed the chef, the food still high quality, it is my problem but I like table cloths and there aren’t. The wine service and list is brilliant, it’s quite rare an amazing list like this...
Very good food and friendly helpful staff. We had to cancel our dessert order and leave to be elsewhere; they were very apologetic about the delay and cancelled the service charge.
Good value but poor service unfortunately. The music also made it hard to hear conversation.
Excellent Food and Service. Particularly impressed with the steak special at £21.50 including a glass of wine, great value and quality AND in Mayfair.
Went to 28-50 for the first time last Saturday early evening with a group of 7 friend/family. All of us found the food excellent. Strongly recommended!
The food was good. We had the evening special which was the Rib Eye with chips or salad which was economically priced at £21.50 and included a glass of wine. Our server was very attentive and helpful. Our only complaint was that the room was very warm and uncomfortable with a temperature of roughly 25 Celsius. Fortunately, the manager turned on the air conditioner which made the room more comfortable. This is a very common complaint with many British restaurants in October when they all seem to turn on their heat and shut down the air conditioners.
Great food and wine, service was excellent. A great find
This was the perfect spot to celebrate my boyfriends birthday, the chefs and waiting staff went above and beyond our expectations with the food and Lao with the special birthday surprise I had requested for my boyfriend. Truly amazing night - would not have changed a thing. Perfect night, perfect food, and lovely wine. Would 100% recommend this restaurant to anyone with a love for food and good ambience and a cosy romantic night
Great food and drink, the only thing i would say it was further than the mileage from our destination but worth it as the food and wine was worth the walk xxx
