We had a lovely time. All the staff were great, but in particular the Irish waitress got the tone perfect, being knowledgeable, pleasant but giving us space too. They even deftly handled two Americans who didn't mean to make a scene but had overindulged and were the only negative of the night. Definitely worth trying the Beef Wellington if you want an experience - but you might need to starve yourself for a few days in advance, if you want a starter and dessert too!
We thought 45 Jermyn Street had a special ambience; half cocktail bar, half restaurant.
Great first impressions with a warm and helpful greeting, followed by v. good service.
We had forgotten about the cocktail included in the special deal - what a treat that was!
The food was great, and all added up to a fine, memorable occasion.
I like to think we will go back soon.
A a bit of a mess. Coffees arrived so slowly that we reordered and then got two. Lack of clarity about which dishes did or didn't contain wheat for allergy safety. Service friendly but badly organised. Atmosphere is heavily "important financial types" so if you're not one of those you might find it a bit wearing.
Marion was a super professional thank you. My favourite rabbit tag was too salty what a shame.
Very impressed with how relaxed it was with attentive service and informal atmosphere. Would book again.
Visited for our wedding anniversary and the service was superb. Very friendly staff and good knowledge of the menu made this a worthwhile visit. Fully recommended for an evening special occasion
Great service, relaxed atmosphere, high quality food
We had a superb lunch at 45 Jermyn St. Right from the moment we walked in, we received fantastic service from some amazingly attentive staff. My husband was celebrating his birthday and had no idea where we were going for lunch. Also not being very good with new restaurants, my husband was determined to not like the restaurant! But, I thrilled to say, he was delighted with the menu (so much to choice) and the quality of the wine list. So thank you 45 Jermyn Street and see you again!
Always go here for breakfast when in London. A great atmosphere and excellent service
Tried both dinner and breakfast . Love the ambience ( not too formal ) . Great food and friendly service . Went back for breakfast
The Maitre D can be a little brusque, but the food, wine, and the rest of the service were excellent
Sophisticated traditional ambience in St James's. Attentive unobtrusive staff.
Service was excellent and food exemplary. We were well looked after.
Usual friendly staff plus great food
Will be back very soon
Nice restaurant in Picadily Lot of clients service is quick and efficient
Not often I wax lyrical about restaurants in London since too many of them fall between the stools of value and self-importance. Not so here - excellent but unobtrusive and remarkably efficient service, wonderfully interesting food (wild garlic soup for us both was superb - vibrant green and fresh - stunningly good calve's liver and a very innovative and perfectly spiced chicken and mango salad) and a very good list of wines by the glass and carafe. It is a carefully thought through and well managed venue - definitely on the list for the next time in the West End.
We loved our lunch here. It was full but not at all noisy. Delicious food and charming service.
Fantastic food and comfortable environment.
Really enjoyed it!
Such a lovely restaurant! One of our party was late due to a scheduling error and they patiently let us wait for him to arrive before ordering our food. The staff were an absolute delight and food and cocktails even more delicious!! Will definitely be back and would recommend.
My friend and I had a post-theatre dinner at the restaurant.
We opted for a set menu.
The food was really nice, especially burata and coconut ice cream with pineapple carpaccio. The main, salmon, was average.
We had cinamon infused cocktails and they were delicious.
The service was attentive. Food was served promptly. I would prefer longer breaks between the meals as dishes landed on our table one after another.
The ambiance was nice, although not very relaxing as were were seated right next to the till.
Overall we enjoyed our dining experience at 45 Jermyn St.
I hate restaurants that add a ‘service charge’ to the bill ... 12.5% in this case !! It should be illegal in this day and age ... and the response that you always ask for it to be removed is patronising and pathetic ....
Breakfast was the order of the day - full English for me and eggs benedict for my wife. All very nicely presented with crockery & cutlery that befitted the surroundings being attached to Fortnum & Masons. The staff were quietly attentive and efficient. Well worth a visit but not a cheap breakfast option
The food was great. The service was very good. I will go back shain
Difficult looking back. There was a time when The Fountain was great. Variety of foods well priced for the area. And always busk, with a buzz of conversation.
Now quiet a few business man. I should think no shoppers. (You cannot do much about that)
But all very staid and the food was a bit that way also
Exactly what one expects from F&M.
The food was outstanding. I can especially recommend the venison pappardelle and the ratatouille. The wine list was quite extensive as well. The hostess and servers were efficient and courteous. I highly recommend this restaurant.
45 Jermyn Street is a very special place. The quality of the food, the wine list, the cocktails and the service are above reproach. The decor is exceptional with very comfortable seating. However, I do think that restaurant needs to think very carefully about allowing large parties. There were 3 noisy parties in the restaurant the last night we dined there with the noise level excessive. We were having an important business dinner and it was difficult to hear each other on this occasion.
Great menu and service at 45 Jermyn St - they never disappoint.
Delicious food and attentive service with a great atmosphere.
Really surprised. Beat our expectations in every way. Get the Wellington.
Good food, nice atmosphere and a place to which I would return
Delicious food, great ambience, very stylish venue and fantastic service from the manager.
Went for breakfast; lovely food & drink choices, beautifully made & presented. Staff friendly & attentive. Definitely recommend.
I have eaten at this restaurant a number of times now. I generally really like it although it is a pretty expensive experience (I am happy to pay their prices though as the food is very good quality).
The food is very good (some of it is excellent!) and the staff are very attentive and generally nice and friendly.
The Burrata starter is really delicious as is the pork main.
The only slight criticism I have it that on this occasion they seemed to have changed the vegetarian options quite a lot. The previous menu had some lovely vegetarian main dishes on it (many of them were creamy/cheesy). Those have gone and been replaced with all vegan/vegan option food. Although it’s great to see more options, it seems that the restaurant is trying to cater more towards vegans. When I eat out as a vegetarian, I generally like have a treat and eat some dishes that contain dairy as I personally enjoy these and I find them a bit more substantial/less bland and dry than many vegan options so it was a bit disappointing to see mostly vegan options were being offered to people who enjoy dairy etc. I think it’s great to have to odd vegan dish but I feel that the older menu with more dairy options was more enjoyable.
Have been here four times and just love it, you are made very welcome even when late! I don't live in London, but this is my favourite place either with friends on a Friday or midweek with husband. There are some staff that have been in the restaurant ever since I first went, which I think is a good sign. It is also great value for central London the wine list is very good and very reasonable compared with other places near by. The food is always of a good standard and is not too fussy or pretentious but special for when you are out. They also do a fab set menu, not sure it is on all evening or at weekend though.
Firstly, the dining room with bar is quite hip and appealing. Good lighting, good seating, staff accommodated our seating preferences. There's a good buzz and atmosphere but the tables are well-placed so you can hear each other easily and have a very private conversation or meeting if that's what you seek. If you're looking for a good atmosphere then you will find it here. Suitable for all ages, from small groups in their twenties on a night out, for shoppers, for business people - there has been a complete mix each time we've been. The staff are excellent, without exception and far, far better than for example, at neighbouring The Wolseley!
Finally the menu is varied with something for everyone and a good set menu if you wish. One tiny moan: when you charge c£14 for a glass of champagne (which is standard in London) do fill it up, don't give a tiny half-glass!
Oh, and I only didn't give five starts because that is 'outstanding' and I think I'd reserve that for a Michelin starred restaurant or something overlooking the Amalfi coast etc. Otherwise a good 9.5/10, thank you very much.
quick service, tasty food, some tables are a bit small and close to each other, a bit pricey, great venue for breakfast meetings
We dine at 45 Jermyn Street on a regular basis. The food ambiance and service is very good. We will return.
