Fabulous wine list.
My food wasn’t fussy but perfectly executed (oyster starter & lobster main).
Well balanced cheese selection, not overfacing after two courses and still leaving enough room for a sweet.
Service was exemplary - we were supremely well looked after without ever feeling intruded upon.

Unpretentious bistro style establishment that serves superb food. Starters & main were a joy to eat. Few decent French restaurants in Manchester unfortunately, so 63 Degrees will be my default in future.

Would recommend....but only to
1) someone who we know can afford to spend around £50-£60 per person
2) a lover of rich French food
3) someone who needs 3 courses to satisfy their hunger.

We went to 63 Degrees for our anniversary meal, and everything was really great. The owner was very helpful in helping us choose a wine and matched perfectly with our different courses. Following a review I saw on here we went with the chestnut soup with bacon foam and was terrific. All the other courses were great as well.

Visited here for an intimate lunch for my 50th Mar 2019, having visited some time ago. We were not disappointed , it is a real gem, the fillet steak dish was one of the best steaks i’ve had in a very very long time. The owner Eric Moreau is a lovely gentleman and was very attentive and engaging and took time to chat about the food and ingredients. The lobster starter builds into a great dish as you eat your way through. We have visited many AA rosette restaurants and some Michelin starred and this place still stands out for us , as somewhere a little bit special. Great views out of the window too. This is actually the first review I’ve ever done, but felt it necessary as it was thoroughly enjoyable. Ps Good food will always be value for money if its enjoyable.

The food was mediocre at a too high price. Their signature dish, after which the restaurant is named, was strongly overcooked (although we were compensated). The ambience was OK, the drinks were good, but the food is the most important for me so the overall experience was poor. Weirdly, this restaurant is represented in almost every Manchester guide I've seen as a recommended visit. Maybe they had a bad night?

This was our second time and we took friends on this occasion, after raving about it. We were all so disappointed. We waited for over 1.5 hours for our main to arrive. And I had to get up from the table to ask where it was. By the time it did arrive, we’d drunk most of our wine and it the food was lukewarm. To be honest we should have sent it back but we were so hungry. The portions are embarrassingly small. £4.50 for a side that was so Minuscule. My partner ate cereal when he got home. You should never have to leave a restaurant still hungry, especially paying £90 a head! And £42 for a mediocre, lukewarm lobster!
We were ushered upstairs, which is a little soulless and because we waited so long for our food, all the other diners had left, so we were sat on our own. The music was terrible and too loud.
In summary
Over priced
Poor service
Portions too small
Lacks atmosphere
Food was okay but not great and we should have really sent it back.
No apology from the manager, it was left to a very embarrassed waiter.
We definitely won’t bother booking again.

You could even provide amuse Bouche or even some bread. And you really do need to look at your portions, they’re ridiculous.

This is a good centre of classic French food. In particular the beef dish and the foie gras were excellent.
The Lentille beluga were good as was the signature chicken but not at these prices.
The atmosphere was very good for couples and the music sensitive and the general ambience very pleasant.
Initially, we waited too long for service and even longer once we had ordered drinks. There seemed to be a mini-crisis in play but there were several staff for a small dining area and some seemed underused. This is an issue of management of staff. One young man, flustered by the need to serve us some wine for the main course, poured our red wine order into the white wine glass my wine had yet to drink, thinking it was he said' water.'
As frequent diners, in Manchester but many other cities, we appreciate good food and good value. At 63 Degreees there needs to be some rethinking to match equivalent priced rivals.

Good choice of fine dinning foods. We chose lunch menus and choose different to taste and compare double the experience, double the lip smacking . Service and guidance with menus excellent, advising on side's to enhance flavours , so building on French cousine tastes. The chefs chicken speciality was superb and worth a return encounter. Large wine selection to accompany choice of dishes. Very nice.

Food was very good indeed from a small menu - a good thing because it gives you confidence that all dishes are freshly prepared. The gratin dauphinoise was a little dry and should have been creamier in my view. The chestnut velouté was wonderful. My friend's steak was excellent although I think my stuffed duck breast was perhaps a touch over cooked. The final crêpes soufflées were delicious and, accompanied by the patron's recommended sweet red dessert wine, made a fitting end to a great meal.

We were on a short break in Manchester and asked our hotel for recommendations for a good quality, White Cloth, French Restaurant. 63 degrees turnout out to be a wonderful recommendation - The Service and food were excellent. There was a good choice of wines - mainly French as you would expect. My wife had Duck and I selected Fish so we were somewhat challenged with choosing a complimenting Wine. Our Waiter, who appeared very knowledgeable about Wines, suggested a perfect match. We also asked about the naming of the Restaurant and the owner/experienced Chef visited our table to explain the temperature link to that of cooking a perfect egg. Very interesting. All of this, coupled with the ambience of the restaurant, and the type of background music made made for a wonderful experience. Would definitely return on any future visit to Manchester and recommend to anyone looking for a good quality French restaurant in the local vicinity.
