63 Tay Street Restaurant
We had the 5 course taster menu. It was excellent and we had more than enough to eat. The service was excellent and we liked the venue. We will go again.
Myself and a friend visited for the 'steak night' deal. I have previously visited for the 4 course weekday menu which is also excellent and highly recommended.
The food was cooked to perfection and the waiter was friendly and helpful. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
Solid cookery, well done chef!
Service was efficient and courteous.
Great value for a Saturday lunch, I’ll be back next time I’m in Perth!
Excellent food and service as always. Recommend the 5course set menu with wines to go with each course for a treat.
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal, particularly enjoyed the take on the cheesecake dessert. Nice wine list too. Pleasant situation by the river and handy for the town centre. Nice size also - not too many covers. Definitely deserves all the awards it has won on the evidence of our visit.
Celebrated hubby's birthday with the 5 course tasting menu. Delicious, and well worth the money. The dessert was to die for!!! Excellent wine list, knowledgeable waiting staff and all round great service. Lovely views out over the river, my only comment would be that maybe they turn the volume up on the music to create a bit more ambience.
Been there twice occasionally, its recommendable and the ambiance is fantastic. My family and I love it.
Service good, food excellent, couldn’t fault it. But vegetarian choice of dishes restricted and a bottle of Cava cost 40 quid, first time I’ve had to pay such a price for Cava.
we were four friends out on a weekend-getaway to perth, and thankfully we booked a table at 63, because not only did we agree to visit perth again, we also agreed to visit this great restaurant on another occasion. we had the tasting menu and it was worth every penny and every mile from aberdeen to perth. the host was one of the most attentive and professional we’ve come across in scotland. we can be a bit picky about food but that is only because we appreciate good food and consider ourselves «foodies», and we also required a gluten free menu and a pesctarian one, but all our requirements were fullfilled and all our expectations were exceeded.
the only (minor!) let-down was that they’d ran out of the sauvignon blanc from marlborough, which i had been looking forward to taste (as i saw it on the wine list when i booked), but the host suggested a riesling which was a good substitute.
do not hesitate to book a table at this restaurant!
I went there with my family during a tour of Scotland. We decided for 63 Tay restaurant reading the reviews and must absolutely recommend it for the meat. Slightly smoked, tender and tasty. The best I've ever tried. The price is fair for the food quality.
A suggestion, not a criticism would be to rearrange the tables in a more cosy fashion. The room is small, rectangular and has three large windows overlooking the Tay River and green on the other side. It would be easy to separate some of the tables with wrought iron stands holding small plants, green or coloured., without structural expense.
Delicious food and excellent service. Staff were friendly. polite, helpful and professional.
Had a lovely evening at 63 Tay St. The food was delicious and beautifully presented.
Fantastic service and food amazing - small restaurant so need to book but well worth it! Cannot recommend enough!
What would be the best way. to celebrate my wifes 74th birthday ???? Then I remembered 63 Tay Street Involved a total of 60 miles by bus but worth every mile We had the taster meal and wine flight very enjoyable indeed and hope to be back soon
Despite confirmed Open Table booking for 20.00 on 4 January 2018 for dinner arrived to find the restaurant locked and in darkness.
Quiz Team Christmas outing. Table booked well in advance.
Well looked after and the food was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Would recommend for food lovers.
Great, very tasty food served in a lovely setting. There is an extensive wine list with prices to suit all budgets. Wonderful, welcoming staff - nothing was a problem to them. We had dinner for our wedding anniversary and would definitely recommend for any occasion.
Fantastic food and service. Always an experience and a journey in to food and wine tasting.
The service, ambiance, if a littel noisey later on and food were all good. Taste is an entierly subjective thing and 63 wasn't really my cup of tea. The diners at other tables seemed very happy and I expect they would be much more positive. Study the online sample menu and if it appeals you fill be fine.
Been 3rd visit.... good food every time, will be back on a more regular basis
Food superb. Smoked Mackerel starter was a work of art! Price pretty reasonable for the quality of food and service. 100% recommend to anyone visiting Perth
Fantastic food in a relaxed environment. The restaurant prides itself on using local produce and this is evident from the menu. Diners can choose between a la carte and a tasting menu so there is plenty of choice. A good range of wines available at prices to suit all. Lucas is a great front of house and compliments Graeme's vision for the restaurant. Highly recommended.
Went for lunch on a Friday.
Had tasting menu.
Fantastic quality and value for money.
We had the surprise 4 course tasting lunch with wine flight. Excellent in every respect. Service impeccable.
Simply excellent. We had the tasting menu with premium wine selection and it was wonderful.
Was having dinner here last November while being on a business trip to Perth. Returned to Perth again for another business trip and checked back into 63 Tay street. Food is still excellent. A wonderful Salmon appetizer and as main dish a innovative creation of duck with duck breast, Scottish Duck Pie and lentils and root vegetables with an oriental flavor.
And as supplement an Amuse Bouche with chicken liver parfait and roasted Chestnuts and as intermediate a Strawberry - Tomato Gazpacho.
In my business we have a weekly #achieve. This is to help people in my business advertise what they have achieved, giving the customer the best possible, world class service. I can with all honesty give the staff at 63 Tay Street Perth a big #achive.
The service was excellent and the food was outstanding (try the rhubarb desert). If your a vegie, do not despair, ask for the special vegetarian menu, you will not be disappointed (try the white onion risotto).
I`ll be going back for my #achieve!!!
I treated my son to his 40th birthday gift. A meal in one of my favourite restaurants. It was up to all expectations and we had a lovely time. Well looked after and the food was Graeme's normal excellence.
Creative menu meets beautiful Scottish food. Lovely surroundings and superb service - couldn't recommend highly enough!!
With the recent change in Scottish drink drive laws you need to offer a much wider selection of non alcoholic drinks, including non alcoholic beers and wines. Three of our party of 8 were driving and the selection on offer was very poor. Apart from that, an exceptionally enjoyable evening (it was a special occasion) enhanced by the ambience, service and food all of which were of the highest quality. I bit pricey for an ordinary evening out.
Warm friendly greeting. The chef makes spectacular food with unbelievable taste and flavour, looks fabulous tastes amazing! Can't wait to visit Perth again and dine at 63 tay St. Beautiful restaurant with excellent staff , lovely and spacious , nice decor and spotless toilets. This restaurant should be on your must do list in path.
Excellent food in a pleasant restaurant. Food was very tasty and the service faultless, from a very friendly staff..
WE DINE AT 63 TAY STREET TWICE OR THREE TIMES A YEAR AND EVERY TIME WE ASK OURSELVES WHY WE DO NOT COME MORE OFTEN. THE FOOD IS SUPERLATIVE ALLIED WITH EXCELLENT WINE AND SERVICE. ALWAYS A JOY TO COME.
This was a return trip to 63 Tay Street and the standard of the restaurant has remained good. We were there on a Saturday evening and the only limitation was that you could only eat from a fixed course menu and no a la carte was available. Having said that the food was of a good quality although my husband was disappointed with his steak which appeared to have been left to dry out (and there was a supplement for tho choice). The desserts were also a bit uninspiring but overall a reasonable restaurant for an area with not a great choice of very good restaurants.
The food is very good indeed, and the service excellent. Also has a very good wine list with some real treats.
We had booked for lunch however we discovered that there was a set menu available but this option was not offered to us, only the a la carte was offered therefore the meal was pricer than we might have expected.
Went there for the 3rd time (my last this year, since I got a job in London) to celebrate my new found job.
Ordered well balanced German Riesling wine and simply enjoyed chefs gastronomic creations, service & atmosphere.
Menu pleasantly surprised me - had scallop cream soup as starter, Asian inspired intermezzo with coconut sorbet and braised fallow deer schnitzel as my main course.
Will definitely come back again next year!!!
We had lunch here recently with family and it was delightful, it's simply, honestly delish, and local too! Love it.
And beautifully presented. Having been at Andrew Fairley the previous night, one could see a similarity in the cooking style. (The chef, Graeme Pallister, trained or worked at Andrew Fairley.)
