Quick service which is always a plus with cocktails, exceptionally brilliant ones too!!
Good old fashioned atmospheric bar , superb cocktails , attentive and excellent service
Fantastic drinks menu and brilliant service. Make sure you book to ensure a seat.
Great service and nice drinks. Definitely recommended!
Lovely small venue with tasty cocktails and friendly knowledgeable staff
Staff were brilliant and very attentive. Ambiance might have been better if it had been busier and we didn't go on a jazz night which are apparently great. Quite nice inside but felt a bit run down- cocktails were nothing to write home about.
This is a cocktail bar so reviewing the food is not applicable. Therefore the food rating does not reflect the experience.
That said the place is a gem. The staff are fab, the cocktails are amazing and not the run of the mill choices either. We tried a couple of cocktails each and they were all fabulous.
Great music and atmosphere.
You have to book a table, or it's standing room only.
Not as good as past times we have been. V hectic and losing its specialness.
Intimate, glamorous, inventive cocktails (their Prairie Oysters are a sensation!), and the live jazz pianist on Tuesday and Thursday evenings is a fabulous touch. One to wear your favourite vintage outfit to - this place deserves to be dressed up for.
Tiny bar and all tables are close to the door;subsequently everyone is disturbed by the draft. Very friendly staff. Cocktails are overrated as being ‘the best in London’
Used to be such a lovely experience but has changed. Although the waiters are polite and the cocktails are still very good it lacks the relaxing atmosphere it used to have.
As soon as we got there we were told we only had the table for 1 hour. 40 mins in we were reminded again about the time we had to leave. My friends and I couldn’t think about anything else. When you’re paying £10 plus a cocktail in such a small bar you’d expect to at least have time to enjoy your drink.
If they want to allow for more clientele then find a larger space. Trying to create an exclusive small venue but turning tables like you’re Pizza Hut isn’t what I call top end.
Won’t be going back I’m afraid
Cool cocktail hub with nice live piano music
Very attentive service
A small but lively cocktail bar tucked away from the mean streets of Angel. Good atmosphere, especially with the live piano playing, that was simply brilliant.
Some drinks are incredibly small and somewhat disappointing at first considering the price, but after one sip that's all forgotten when you taste the generous amount of alcohol (unlike a spoons where 95% of the cocktail is mixer and ice). A good selection too, with almost any other cocktail available to order.
Thoroughly recommend for part of a date night, tables are generally needed back after an hour I believe. Even on a Thursday no seat was left empty for more than 5 minutes.
An amazing little bar with great cocktails. Great service from the people who work there and the live music on the piano makes it complete.
This place is great. This was the second time we were there and we had a great time. The music and staff are both great. The only downside was the pressure we felt to consume more even when we didn't feel like it.
Cozy and romantic, great cocktails.
Great after dinner cocktails
A nice venue, good cocktails, but the tables were too close together for my taste, and with the piano it was hard to hear the other person ad maintain a conversation.
Food is only snacks, but did not visit for that. Cocktails are really nice but sad they don't serve the oysters as a complimentary welcoming drink anymore. Nice for a special occasion.
Service was pretty poor in comparison to how great it normally is. The drinks menu wasn’t offered and generally I didn’t feel like we were made to feel as welcome as we normally are. Maybe the bar staff were tired.
This is a cosy little jazz bar in the heart of Angel. You need to book in advance as it is very small. The atmosphere, music and drinks are really good although quite expensive.
A great find. Book and get there early before the others as it is intimate. Some powerful and classy cocktails on offer. Unsure what to take? Ask the expert serving team, they are well informed.
Amazing cocktails and service.. All staff are so professional!
Great drinks as expected. Felt very overcrowded (people sitting on the stairs busy). The table for 2 next to us was occupied by 5 middle aged woman (I think country life fair was on at the business design centre that day) which made it uncomfortable as the lady sitting next to me was in hair flicking in your face territory.
Un valeur sur! Took our Frenchie friends here when in town and as always had a great welcome and time.
This place had everything going for it until the bill came. I have no issue in having a service charge levied for good service, which was plentiful. What I take exception to was that it was charged on top of the VAT and not on the net. Our bill was modest, so only a few quid difference, but there were tables of 10 or more people and at £10 average per cocktaIl it would seriously make a difference. When I pointed it out to the staff member they just smiled and said nothing of consequence. I sincerely hope that this review will make the management sit up and take notice rather then HMRC.
What happened? I was so excited to go here with my BF, i had told him a lot about the place. But it's changed. The table they tried to give us was crammed in on the corner of a busy table right by the door and it was freezing. We declined the table so at least got a seat at the bar. The free oyster drink they used to offer is no more and no more piano or nice music. Also far more staff than they once and and seemed too busy with them and the cocktails just didn't seem to have as much care and attention. I guess it was disappointing. It's lost the ambience and care that once made it special. I doubt I'll be back:-(
Great place for a quite birthday celebration. Amazing cocktails, completely delicious and no problems the following day. Great service, really nice staff, friendly and attentive.
Highly recommend. Cosy, relaxed atmosphere, attentive service, excellent cocktails. Live music on certain nights. Will definitely come back.
Lovely cocktails but crowded tables and not much atmosphere. The waiters are charming.
Having been to the bar with no name numerous cocktail masterclasses over the past few years we finally went justvfor drinks, and it didn't disappoint.
Unlike other 'good' bars the options were delicious and not clever, not tricksy and showy or gimmicky, just damn good cocktails. Don't get me wrong I love an impressive serve as much as the next person, but the focus here is on tasty drinks and that they are.
Of course you can order off menu for classics, these guys have it covered.
Finally when the jazz piano gent started to play this cute date night spot transports you to another, much more classy era. Bar tenders in white jackets, and a cosy, small little bar, you think, just for a second, Audrey Hepburn or Sophia Lauren could walk in and it'd be the most normal thing in the world.
Went here on a date was pleasantly surprised. Extreme good staff, helpfully and friendly. The cocktails were very different from the norm but overall a great experience.
Beautiful tiny bar with a 50s film noir feel, exquisite, unusual cocktails and polite, knowledgeable staff. My favourite bar in London.
Just a wannabe pretentious place without any reason...small cocktails which in my opinion cannot even be called cocktails. Were they signature cocktails? Ahahahahha sure! A pub with a patio in good company is to prefer 1 milion times to this room with cheap small tables and below-average drinks. No reason to go this bar that doesn't have a name because probably it doesn't even deserve a name!
They did not have our open table reservation but were able to seat us at the bar. Their mixologist was fabulous and was able to create drinks to suit our taste. The decomposed Bloody Mary was the highlight drink of the night. It is not on the menu anymore but the will make it if you ask.
I booked this place when my friend was over visiting me in London, and ended up just feeling embarrassed to have brought her there! We were a group of three and we crowded onto a tiny table for 2. The place is tight on space and this would have been okay if one of the chairs was not literally in the doorway. There is a small step there, and the 2 back legs of the chair were on the lower level and the two front legs on the higher level. So they expected me to sit tipping backwards! AND right beside the door and in the way of people entering. It was kind of hilarious at first because it was so unbelievable. (And surely a health and safety hazard!) We asked to be reseated at a different table which was empty, but we were told it was booked - no further accommodations were made. We soldiered on anyhow. The cocktails were average so we moved onto the average wine, before we were told we had to leave for the next booking 1.5 hours later. Which was fine because we were so uncomfortable anyway! I definitely would not go back and wished I'd booked a better place for my friend to enjoy her visit to London!
Arrived early and told to stand in stairs. Very small, stuffy bar. Good drinks , but not sure if we will make a second time round.
Wonderful cocktails as always. Great service, fantastic place
69 is a small, specialist cocktail bar, serving drinks which are much admired by people who (unlike me) know about cocktails. My husband and I wanted a pre-prandial snifter on the occasion of our wedding anniversary. 69 fitted the bill perfectly.
don't know much about food there as I did not have food.
